The staff were very friendly. The rooms need updating and the facilities need a lot of love. The 3rd bed was tiny, not even a single size wide.
But the kids loved going in the pool, the playground and mini golf. It was nice to sit on the balcony and see the kangaroos.

Do not stay here. I booked a room for 2 nights, we left after 1 night. We could not leave soon enough! The fridge and lamp in our room were both broken the towel and carpets were dirty and the bed was extremely uncomfortable as the springs were almost through the mattress and to top it off the spa was broken! Very unpleasant stay and very little help from staff to rectify the situation.

Terrible service from staff, had to sneak in a staff exit to see someone for a late check in after calling ahead twice, property is not as advertised, not clean, and in need of repair. Tv only worked on one channel and even that kept cutting out. Bedside light had arcing wiring. Sink glued back together. Definitely an emergency stop off only. All we really needed was a bed and thankfully that was comfortable, beyond that it was disappointing.

Off season stay

I booked this stay largely so I was close to the Kangaroo Island Ferry.

I had expected a typical motel style room for a single night. In fact what I found on arrival was a relatively large facility which I assume is a holiday resort during the tourist season. However, when we arrived we found that there were no staff and that the contact number we had went unanswered. Fortunately I had received at txt message from a different number giving a key code to check in and calling that number I got some assistance.

As a venue the room was fine with some basic facilities and eventually we found a guest kitchen with some basic appliances. Having driven for Melbourne and arriving at about 7 pm I was comforted by the venue being OK but disappointed at the varience between what the web and booking information had led me to expect.

I've had similar experiences with AirB&B ads in the past and for this reason use general reputable booking sites. It would have been better to have a more current description either on the site or at least in the information email together with an up to date contact number.

Out of season I rate the venue as a backpacker friendly venue and not worth what I paid.

The room we booked has a terrible smell as soon as we enter. The double bed (2 single beds combined) was unkempt, way below standard for a standard hotel/motel. The electric kettle has rust. However, we found a warning advice inside one of the drawers that the guests are not supposed to use the electric kettle as it may trigger the fire alarm. Apparently, an accidental trigger of the alarm may add up to the cost of your stay! The warning advice should be conspicuously placed so guests may be forewarned. Overall, this was supposed to be our 2 day break turned out to be a stressful, no sleep experience.

Quiet place , good to relax and not far from town to go for dinner and shops etc. No plates or cutlery in the room , not a big deal but never hurts does it . The king size bed was two king singles that had a great big seam in the middle which was pretty uncomfortable. Overall for the money it was good.

The furniture and fittings were outdated and could do with an upgrade. The bathrooms were in good condition and it looked like the tiling has been upgraded as that was in very good condtion. The shower was over the bath.

It was a very convenient place for us to stay close to Cape Jervis, where we took an early morning ferry to Kangaroo Island.
The property looked a little tired in terms of maintenance (some chipped paint, some aging furniture), but it was adequate and we felt fine. We had a nice view of the golf course, with kangaroos hopping right past the door facing the golf course.

The room is very spacious but overall the property is dated. We were assigned a room at back of the property and it was very difficult to find at night (late check in) as there were no signs on the road (or if there were, they were not illuminated). This is a very convenient accommodation to catch the early morning ferry to Kangaroo Island in Cape Jervis. Also, loved the wildlife, eg kangaroos or wallabies, birds,etc near the property.

Accommodation was lovely. Did have an issue with the booking - I booked and paid through Wotif prior to arrival and the venue had not received payment through Wotif. I spent 40mins at Reception and on the phone trying to sort it out so I could check in and make it to my dinner reservation. Not the best check in experience, but still a nice stay.

The room was very basic for the price paid. In addition, there were lights that weren't working. The mini fridge was not working properly - too warm, didn't keep our drinks cold and the freezer needed to be defrosted as ice fell out when it was opened. Disappointing that there wasn't a microwave.
On the upside it was quiet and peaceful and the staff were friendly.

Having a golf course room was excellent it was quiet and restful. The room was perfectly clean but had obviously not been opened for a while as it smelt musty. The aircon worked well but was noisy. The bathroom was clean and tidy and the hot water was plentiful. The bed was comfortable but it fell in towards the middle of the mattress. The restaurant was excellent for dinner service prompt but they decided not to open breakfast buffet so breakfast service took a while

Had to find a receptionist after 10mins of waiting and ringing the bell. Room was fine. Pool area had a metal grate that was completely rusted very dangerous if walking barefoot around the pool. Went to reception to get putters for mini golf as there was equipment behind the counter, receptionist told me I had to go to the pro shop for mini golf as these were spares? Asked nicely and she reluctantly gave me 3 putters and 3 balls for my self and my 2 young boys. As she was giving me the putters she said that will be $15? I said I was a guest at the ‘resort’ but she said no it wasn’t complimentary. Ridiculous and not stated anywhere it was an extra charge. Found the games room however they were all turned off and very dusty, informed upon check out that I could of just turned them on myself ? Went to check out waited again then a gentleman from the restaurant shouted just leave the key on the reception counter.

Overall not a good stay and will not be back.

A friend and I stayed here after a big day exploring Second Valley, Normanville and Rapid Bay beaches. The room was clean but really dated, Tv was small, bad phone reception. We loved the kangaroos that sat outside our room. The bed was comfy too. Staff were friendly. A good place to go if you want to crash somewhere but not somewhere I’d stay for more than a night or come back to in a hurry. Quite pricey for what you got.

Room was clean and comfortable, and luckily they had vanity kits with toothbrushes which was lucky as this was a last minute stay for us and we had nothing with us. Very close to wirrina cove which is great if you have a boat and close to a few other beaches which are all
Beautiful. Of course if you want to golf that looked pretty nice too. Dining is available but no room service which was unfortunate for us as we missed dinner service. Overall easy good place to stay.

The bed was comfy. The room was big. But we thought that the hotel is pretty runned down. The sauna wasn’t working. The hotel itself needs work done. Upon checking in didn’t advice us regarding internet, pool, gym or sauna usage unless we ask. There wasn’t internet. It probably wasn’t working as well but it stated that there was internet.
