Check in was horrific. The lobby aroma was brought to you by Cheech and Chong with an overwhelming odor of marijuana. The desk clerk seemed to have no clue what he was doing and spent as much time texting someone as he did checking in those ahead of me. He took my id and cc and entered it into his computer, then 5 minutes later asked for it again and reentered it. They didn’t have the room I had booked. The clerk had to be prompted for keys. The room was clean, but traffic noise was overwhelming. Grounds were littered.

We were extremely disapointed that the pool was 'closed for maintenance' and had no warning that this amenity was not avaiable until we walked to the pool as a family with our swim gear & a hotel worker stopped us to inform us that it was 'closed for maintenance'.

The front desk guy is a real big jerk. I am on a road trip from Colorado. I accidentally booked at a wrong location and was trying to figure it out. He got mad, told me to take a seat. I told him I had two service dogs when I checked in. He gave us an attitude when he saw my dad and I walk in with two service dogs. The room smelled like a bad musty smell.

The front desk guy was giving everyone an attitude, gave some senior citizen who was a veteran an attitude as well. This guy does not belong in hospitality. The breakfast was awful, the yogurt was expired by at least 20 days. 0/10 do not recommended. Save your money and stay somewhere else

The card keys for the door struggled upon first use and three had to be re-keyed by morning. This happens every time and the keys were not confused between the three rooms. The blow dryer did not work in room 202. Without checking, the desk clerk did not grant even one room for a late check out.

The property was only fair, usually there is a table in the lobby with water etc for travelers- empty; Walcott was in the midst of 100 temperatures, and there was NO ice in any of the machines, we checked all 3 floors! Had to go to Iowa 80 to get ice for our tumblers. Also the soda machines near the ice machines were empty, no bottled water offered at breakfast and whatever breakfast food was there seemed sparse and unappealing. We ate breakfast elsewhere....the main complaint was the fact that there was NO ICE!

Per the facility staff was given OK to park in handicap spaces, which were not occupied. Went against my better judgement. And was very grateful in the morning that no ticket was received. Bedbugs and Lies ....

We rented three rooms for our family. Two of the rooms were clean and comfortable. The third room had bedbugs, of which my son took both pictures and video.

We presented our findings to the front desk personnel, who synced his phone to capture the video.
I asked for a refund for ONLY that room, and was assured it was forthcoming.

Our stay was on January 9th.

No refund received.

If they intended not to refund us, they should have said so instead of lying.

We stayed at two different Comfort Inn and Suites on this trip ....six rooms for three nights.

I had greqt service and excellent rooms in Mountain Iron ....

But I will have to consider a different hotel chain to give my business .... Your representation in Walcott, IA is neither honorable nor honest.

How can you make this right?

This place is a joke,didn't even have the room i booked so they tried to give me a room that the tv wasn't working in i said that wasn't going to happen so then they gave me a room woth one bed and a rollaway and the rollaway collapse when you sat on the side of it the bathroom light would only work when it wanted too the a/c unit in the room was on its last leg but it came back to life after messing around with it for a while o and i asked about breakfast and the lady laughed and said o we are all out of stuff are you kidding me for real your on one of the most traveled highways and all you had was a half a dozen blueberry muffins and 4 juice cups and the coffee didn't even work and nothing else this place is a real joke wouldn't recommend it to anybody

It was horrible. There is black mold in the bathroom around the bars on the bathtub and in the drain. Pink mole in the corner by the tub. Elevator was nasty. Fingerprints and spots on walls all the way around. The room itself was just ok but that bathroom was disgusting. The floor in the bathroom looked dirty as well. Bleach works people. Horrible management apparently. Very obvious.

Out of order and no one seems to care….

Disappointing! This was the last night of a 17 Day road trip. Two of the main reasons for bookings hotel with a pool and the continental breakfast. After 11 hours in the car we were looking forward to relaxing in the pool. Upon arrival I was told the pool was “not open yet.” I understand think break, but this wasn’t the same. The pool wasn’t “down” temporarily, it looked as if there were no plans to open it. We got to our room to find there wasn’t a working light in the bathroom. I notified the girl at the front desk, they gave us a new room with the comment, “oh, I just saw that note after I gave you the room keys.” We moved ourselves to our new room on the third floor and instantly we’re greeted with the overwhelming smell of marijuana. Thankfully, the room did not smell too bad. Hallway lights flickering, handicapped rails with loose screw covers, vending machines with “out of order” signs all pointed to a lack of maintenance. “Breakfast” was a disaster. Their “continental breakfast” consistent of a coffee machine, a juice machine that was “out of order,” a small refrigerator with juice cups and two bags labeled “no meat.” When my wife inquired about breakfast she was told they were “out of food!” This was at 7:30. When breakfast ends at 9 and your “out of food” by 7:30 that’s a big problem! Not only did we have to find someplace close by and pay for our breakfast, but it delayed getting on the road. No compensation was offered and staff just didn’t care. Don’t stay here.

This hotel needs a thorough cleaning. There was trash in the elevator and old dog food on the floor of our room. It would have been considered dirty even before pandemic cleaning standards, let alone what hotels should be cleaned like now. It is located near the "World's Largest Truck Stop" in Iowa so there are a lot of trucks around. We used to like Comfort Inn but will think twice about ever booking a room there again.

Normally I stay here for work so I thought it'd be a good place to stay on our way home. I understand that they're remodeling;however, their cleaning was not up to par. There was drywall dust in the room as well as the bathroom. The pool was so cloudy you couldn't see the bottom. This was our 7th night out and ALL the other hotels had some type of breakfast. Some had individually wrapped items such as waffles,cereal or muffins and some had grab and go bags. Yes I'll stay there for work again but probably not with my family.

This hotel is in the middle of a truck stop area, very noisy. Booking online it said continental breakfast and since the hotel we booked the night before served continental breakfast we assumed this on was going to serve there’s to. No they did not and the girl at the front desk didn’t tell us no breakfast either. So we were pretty disappointed in the morning. No break on the price either for not serving breakfast. The room had a smell to it but at least the air worked to cool the room down. Don’t think I would stay here again.

The wifi worked inconsistently. The toner on their print was running out. One could hardly read the receipt. There was no morning coffee because the manager didn't have time to pick it up. Just so many little things left much to be desired. One who cannot be faithful in little things can hardly be faithful with big things.
