The place was perfect. Close to everything. Breakfast was incredible. Staff was very helpful and there was security all night.
Don’t be afraid to take the bus! It was easy and at $2 round trip, much better than driving. Animals all around the property.

I loved my stay at this hotel. My room was amazing with all the amenities , the bathrooms felt fresh and new and the room was massive. I also liked that they had kitchen area with coffee and milk ! Mauriel was the kindest person ever - he helped me with everything ! I had to run for a tour as my shuttle was late. Mauriel was so helpful - he. It only helped me quickly get a cab but also provided towels without me even asking him and also helped me with ordering lunch. Fire over restful to him! This hotel also has amazing breakfast options and start at 6.30 am which is awesome. The kitchen staff were also very helpful and gave me my breakfast in a Togo container when I requested them which was also very nice of them. All in all 10/10 to them for service , views , food and everything else . Gracias !

Hotel Plaza Yara exceeded my expectations. This was a last minute booking between two destinations. From the moment we stepped into reception till we left every encounter we had with the staff was gracious, helpful and filled with kindness. Our room was beautifully clean, spacious and complete with everything we could need for our stay. The breakfast choices were amazing and made to order and delicious. We were allowed to continue to use the amenities beyond our check out time which was great as we had some time to spare before leaving for our next destination. The art work on the gallery was so amazing. I would really like to bring some home with me. I haven't ruled that out as we need to pass by the hotel again on our way home. I highly recommend staying in this small and very thoughtful hotel. Pura Vida.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Plaza Yara. Mauriel and Caleb made us feel right at home and were very friendly, professional, and helpful; both of them gave us great tips on where to go and helped us book a couple of excursions. The other staff, including our server in the restaurant, were also very pleasant and professional. The room was very spacious and clean, and the breakfast each day was delicious. The pool area was also clean and very relaxing. We were able to see scarlet macaws, a toucan, and monkeys right from the hotel. The mosaics throughout the hotel and art gallery in the lobby were beautiful and fun to look at. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We spent 2 nights in this boutique hotel. It was an interesting experience. The hotel reception was in an art gallery full of paintings. The staff who checked us in was super friendly and helpful. He gave us a tour of the hotel as he helped us carry our luggage to our room, and he answered all our questions patiently. The room was spacious with a small balcony facing the jungle. We could hear birds and monkeys in the morning. Breakfast was delicious and filling. The staff serving us was very courteous. It was certainly an enjoyable stay for us.

This was the best hotel we stayed in during our 3 weeks travelling around Costa Rica. The reception staff were amazing, so kind, informative and welcoming. The rooms are huge and spotless, the pool is also great - we saw lots of wildlife. They even have a courtesy shower & store your luggage after check out which was a big plus!

Everything about the room and property was wonderful. I can't say enough of how thoughtfully well appointed was the room. They thought of everything in anticipation of guests needs, including sensors, unlimited coffee and lighting.
The staff was incredible and especially the reception attendant Caleb, who helped us with sights and restaurant suggestions. Will be back if we come this way again. Thanks guys, keep up the great work!

If you’re visiting Quepos / Manuel Antonio I highly recommend staying at Hotel Plaza Yara!! It is such a vibe and absolutely stunning; from the anterior design, the art gallery in the lobby, the pool and incredible views of the jungle that surround the hotel. I felt completely immersed in nature and saw monkeys right outside my room window!! The breakfast was delicious as well. Not to mention how incredibly friendly and helpful the staff was. This place is also about 10 minutes (via car) from the national park and has many options for good food that is not far; one night we took a taxi to dinner and the other night we were able to walk to a restaurant. I was so sad to leave this beautiful place. Pura Vida!

Pulling up to this hotel on the street you would never guess how lovely a property it is. The rooms are huge, the view from the lanai/porch in the room towards the back of the property is beautiful, and the staff, particularly the front desk staff, are extremely warm, welcoming and knowledgeable. We had an amazing stay here.
The rooms are spacious and clean, and the amenities were great. Every morning, you order breakfast and it’s made to order and delicious. The pool area was quiet and peaceful, surrounded by lush greenery. We spent a good amount of time reading and swimming! The staff was helpful, attentive, and friendly. This hotel is absolutely stunning. The staff were remarkably friendly. The art is vibrant and alive with Costa Rican culture. We arrived early and we were greeted with luggage storage, restroom facilities, and absolute kindness.
Our room was very spacious and decorated with modern beauty. We had a private balcony with pool access. The pools were clean with sparkling water.
The breakfast cooked to order was delicious and had large portions.
The only con to staying at this beautiful place is Expedia was wrong about the location. It is 3.5 miles from Manuel Antonio Park, not a 5 min walk. And the road out front can be a bit intimidating with the copious traffic heading to the park and gorgeous public beach.
I will stay here again.

Had an amazing stay here. Convenient location to both Quesop and Manuel Antonio via local bus or taxi. Staff were friendly and really helpful. Room was spacious and comfortable. Bonus to have a little kitchenette area with a microwave, coffee machine and fridge. Lovely pool and rainforest view from the balcony. Managed to see some wildlife whilst relaxing by the pool including, sloths, toucans and monkeys. Would definitely stay here again. Breakfast was tasty too

I really liked this place! We had the largest room — very clean, neat, and comfortable. The room has a sliding door that opens to a small private patio and swimming pool, which was a great bonus.

The only issue was the shower water temperature — it didn’t stay consistent and would fluctuate between very hot and cold.

Other than that, great reception, excellent breakfast, easy parking, and very close to the beach. Would definitely recommend!

I was traveling with my 20 year old son for spring break. Overall, Hotel Plaza Yara was a very nice place to stay. The staff was professional, attentive and helpful. The daily breakfast was plentiful and quite tasty -- fresh fruit, eggs, plantains, rice and beans, toast, banana pancakes -- lots of choices! The coffee was delicious and is served with hot milk -- the best. My only disappointment with this property is that it's located on a very busy, narrow, winding road with little to no \"shoulder\" which makes walking anywhere nearly impossible. We had a rental car so we could get where we needed to go, but I would have preferred to be able to walk to some places. Reviews I read in advance of booking indicated that walking to restaurants was possible, but I would disagree, unless you don't fear for your safety. Cars drive fast, buses and trucks are frequent and the roads are very narrow.

Hotel Yara ticks all the boxes.
Exceptionally friendly, communicative and supportive staff. Speaking perfect English, the reception staff gave us lots of information to make our stay safe and interesting.
Hotel Yara is highly organised, neat and efficient.
We enjoyed a small kitchen space, fridge and a very comfy beds.
The accommodation was lovely and clean, spacious with nice hot shower.
Tasty, well presented each morning with lots of choice.
Delightful outdoor space with small pools for cooling off. Lovely foliage in the outdoor space with visiting monkeys and birds.
Hotel Yara is on the public bus route for Manueline Antonio National park. Buses are cheap and frequent.
We would highly recommend as excellent value.

We stayed at Plaza Yara for 3 nights. The room was spacious, clean and well maintained. The staff were excellent and provided great recommendations for the dinner and even where to watch the NFL semi final game. There were squirrel monkeys playing by the pool and 2 macaws. The hotel is close to both Queopos and Manuel Antonio. There isn't much within walking distance and it is a busy road so getting out of parking was challenging at times, but the staff helped with that when needed also. They really were committed to making our stay enjoyable.

We swam in the pool and had the free breakfast each morning which was our best breakfast on our whole Costa Rica trip. Amazing portions and service.

Perfection! My room was beautiful and clean. While I didn’t use it, the pools looked great. The back patio off of my room was a great place to relax when I had downtime from activities. What really made my stay at Yara and in Quepos memorable, were the two gentlemen who work reception. They helped me book my tour for the national park and order pizza on a rainy night when I didn’t want to leave the hotel and just made everything so easy for me. I also can’t forget to mention Carl. The cutest little French Bulldog who helps watch over reception and the gallery, he absolutely stole my heart. I feel lucky to have gotten such a great experience for my first time in Quepos.

Friendly staff , Nelson, Caleb and other all are very helpful. Caleb helped to make dinner reservation for us and shows us how to use the bus to Quepos and Manuel Antonio, other staff takes pictures for us in the reception area which is also an art gallery and they are so beau. This is a beautiful and clean facility surrounded by rain forest in the back. Good free breakfast and their associated restaurant , El Arado has excellent menu and tastes very good with live music . We will stay at this hotel on our future trips .

Really Great Stay

From check-in to check-out, the staff was just great. We needed to have an early check-in to make a lunch-time tour and they were glad to help out. Then, when we said that the next morning, we had to leave earlier than the start of breakfast service, a wonderful breakfast of fruit, yogurt, granola and cake was brought to our room the night before. The cooked to order breakfast was lovely as well.

Pool area is lovely and very relaxing (and also features good animal watching).The breakfast is nice. The hotel is just a short drive (8 min?) from Manuel Antonio park.

Our visit

Very helpful and friendly staff. Our room was right off the pool deck with a view from the living room of the forest. We were able to see monkeys, macaws and a sloth. The hotel is in the hills and I didn’t feel comfortable walking on the roads with no sidewalks so we either drove or got a ride.

Beautiful property! The rooms are very nice and the hotel is well maintained. It’s in a good location and has a great feel. The breakfast is good (you make a reservation the day before) and the staff are friendly and extremely helpful. We had help at reception booking our COVID tests for our return trip home and it made our stay much easier. I wish we had longer than two nights there! I cannot say enough good things about it and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The service was excellent. Spacious and spotlessly clean rooms and common areas. Microwave, coffee maker and supplies provided. Beautiful art gallery and mosaic throughout the property. Very good breakfast. 2 Pools and lounge area to relax.
Conveniently located and good restaurant (El Arado) nearby.

Our suite has a porch and we could walk right out of our room to the pool. It was a beautiful room, well decorated, clean, bright and very spacious! So much nicer than we were expecting for the very affordable price on a long weekend. Caleb that was working at the reception was absolutely wonderful. Reception also doubles as a beautiful art gallery. I would definitely stay here again!

We loved staying at Hotel Plaza Yara. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. The room they provided us was THE BEST room (in our opinion) on the property. We had troops of squirrel monkeys jump down from the roof to the trees right in front of us. There were also toucans and scarlett macaws! Room itself was spacious and clean. Water pressure in the shower was fantastic! We absolutely enjoyed our stay!
