This was a convenient place to stay in a good location. I loved the two bed two full bath condo with the beautiful lake view. Towels were clean and fluffy. The overall condo is in need of refreshing. The mattress needs to be replaced. They should stop using old blankets and bedspreads and start using white comforters and duvets like the hotels. The pillows need to be updated. Carpets replaced. HOWEVER, the price was less than nearby competing hotels and condos, so maybe you get what you pay for. Nice staff and they cleared the snow.

Staff is good, but mattress was not even usable. Springs were shot & you just sunk right down to the box spring.
When I brought it to staff’s attention, they tried to throw some foam on top of it instead of replace it. Ended up eventually getting another room.
Property needed maintenance repairs everywhere, such as painting, etc.
Won’t be going back anytime soon.

The boat dock rentals were absolutely unbelievable. You could not walk down them without being thrown to the ground. Took me total one and a 1/2 2 and a 1/2 3 hours to tie up. One jetski twice got knocked to the ground. 5 or 10 times have bad knees and could not get up. That was my only abstraction of the whole weekend. I've been jet skiing for 80 years and never was on a dark situation as bad as that.

Dated motel like unit on the bottom floor, cobwebs, bugs, dirty carpets and I am still feeling stuffy after 2 night here. The kitchen was updated and nice BUT bathroom, bedding, curtain all dirty and dusty- luckily w travelled w our own. Also, no shampoo, conditioner and the towel bar fell down the minute w removed a towel?? Anyway- nice people, good location, but disappointed in the dated accommodations.

This was actually my second time staying at the property and sadly this experience was not the best. We had hot water for a total of maybe 6 hours throughout our entire 4 day trip. The maintenance man said that the hot water heater was most likely empty and we needed to wait to let it fill up, we waited and then had hot water for a few hours before it went ice cold again. We did not contact maintenance again as we were frustrated with this situation already. Our neighbors were blasting music to about 3 am every single night when quiet time is supposed to be at 10 pm nightly.
The staff was very friendly and the condo was gorgeous and cozy but due to the neighbors and the water situation im not too sure if we will plan another trip here.

One thing to say is - location! This is definitely the best property near the lake with amazing views. So quet, so peaceful, great hike.
However, the property is very dated, not very clean (I believe the people try their best, but there is only so much one can do when things just need an upgrade.
On top of this - they charge a cleaning fee which is quite high, and they don't tell you before.
Additionally, the pool I was looking forward to is apparently not on the property. I was told (Rather defensively) that it says so in the description. I believe it does, but the pictures of the pool are front and center and the description is not. Judging by the defensiveness of the answer, I was not the only one being unhappy

We booked king size beds and got queens at best, probably fulls. Also, they had a laundry list of things for us to do upon checking out. Id rather pay another 20 bucks a night and not have to strip the beds and take out the garbage. I dont go on vacation to do maid service.

Problems with the locks.

Checked in, went to the 1 bedroom condo and the keys don't work. Went back to registration and it was closed at 9pm. Called answering service and they had someone come out. Travis used hard key because magnetic master key did not work. Lock was broken. They found us another room. He used master key to get us in. Finally got to our room after an hour. Travis could not get the programming machine to work but not from lack of trying. Went to bed without a working key. The next morning we went to the front office they got us working keys. While we were out they offered us a 2 bedroom condo as an appology because od the keys and our son was not comfortable on the pull out bed. Went to the old room to get our stuff and the keys did not work. Had to get new keysfor the old room. Keys to new room worked and we moved. Went out came back guess what keys did not work need I say more.

We had a great stay and great view of the lake from our room. The staff was very friendly and informative about things to do in the area. Staying in a condo was the way to go on this trip. We were able to have breakfast in our room on the deck and then get ready to go out for the day for whatever we had planned. Would definitely stay here again.

The game room closed at 6p, the pool and gym were 20 minutes away at a gated community which left hardly any option for entertainment for kids. In the game room, the equipment was extremely outdated and dirty. The pool table was missing the white ball and you have to pay to use a ball for the ping pong table. The property was nice but I won't be returning as I feel it is not worth what I paid. The woman at the front desk was extremely pleasant.

It’s was definitely a decent stay. The 2 bedroom condo was very spacious, had all the fixings…kitchen, dishes, washer/dryer, etc. It was great being right on the lake and deer running everywhere. Downside…it’s 7 miles away from the office where you’re suppose to register, indoor pool also is not near the condo, there seemed to be some mice pellets around the condo, and lastly whoever was there before us left behind a sex toy (gross)! The pool and office is just a small inconvenience…the mice pellets and …not picking up the toy and tossing it…a little disgusting.

Staff here was very Nice, Diane was wonderful. Sadly, the good ends there. This Resorts owners should be ashamed of the outdated, filthy conditions here. Bed was extremely old and overused.Box springs were crushed. There was a sheet of old plywood between the very old, cheap, springy mattress and box springs. Dirt, dust and grime everywhere. We removed the grease screens from the over the stove microwave and let them soak in the sink due to the entire unit smelling like grease. The \" Laundry Facility\" is an 4' x 8' outdoor filthy utility closet that an old washer and dryer was stuffed into. This Resort has potential but needs to be completely updated.

It’s not a bad small place. Really liked the fact the condo had everything needed for the stay. Only problems are the upstairs room. It has the biggest bed and jet powered tub but no door for privacy from the kids. Had to settle in the smaller bedroom with the door. Also the beds, they felt worn and cheap. Makes noises when moving around on it plus felt the springs on my back. They definitely need replacing. The place felt dated but that part wasn’t as bad as the beds and the upstairs privacy. Would I go back? Maybe. One thing for sure is that it was quiet, that was great.

Great place to relax

We had a wonderful stay in the one-bedroom version. It is like a small apartment. We relaxed and had easy access to walk along the best part of the lake. We could watch the sunset over the lake either by the lake or by sitting on the resort property. The full kitchen made it easy to reheat our leftovers and make breakfast.
We will definitely be back for another great, relaxing 'recharge' weekend.

The beds are not comfortable overall hard mattress rough on body, outside the deck area with a table and chairs, needs to be cleaned lots spiders and bugs all over the deck and chairs, also outside the room door the light above should be cleaned, lots of spiders hanging was afraid it was going to land on my head, whenever i enter or leave the room outside above door.

Great location - steps away from Lake Wallenpaupack and close to several good dining options, and a nice 18 hole mini golf course. Room was spectacularly clean and cozy. However, it really needs to be updated with newer furniture and a fresh coat of paint. The mattress was not great (understatement), the refrigerator leaked (thankfully only inside), but overall the room was spacious, nicely laid out..and as i said, clean. Staff was very helpful and friendly (and thankfully the office stayed open a little later than advertised). I can't say they would be my first choice next time, but the price was very fair, and i would definitely book there again.

The staff at this resort was very pleasant and helpful. Everything at the resort was clean and perfect for what we needed. The decor and general feel of the resort is simple and a tad outdated, but it had everything we needed. The resort was perfect for an inexpensive weekend away. The fact that the resort is right on the lake and right by the walking trail is super convenient. There is also a lot to do nearby (restaurants, outdoor activities, etc.). I would definitely stay at Tanglwood if I ever want to go to Lake Wallenpaupack again!

I rented this townhouse at Tanglwood for 2 nights to attend a wedding at silver birches with my fiancé and some friends. When we arrived at the Vrbo, we were allowed an early check in which was very nice of the staff and much appreciated. However, once we got to the unit, it had an awful musty smell and to be honest look like someone died there. There were spiders and spiderwebs in all corners of the widows, doors and ceilings. There were 6 of us staying so someone needed to sleep on the pullout couch, but thankfully they brought an air mattress because when you lifted the cushions on the couch there was mouse poop on the pullout. The 2 comforters in each bedroom had stains all over them and we all slept with sweatpants and hoodies on because we were grossed out. The bathrooms were surprisingly the cleanest part of the whole place. There is also no means of transportation around the whole town in terms of Uber, Lyft or even a taxi service. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend anyone staying here. The place needs major renovations or at least a decent cleaning team to come in and scrub it down. Not a good experience.

Dead bugs everywhere, AWFUL customer service

BEWARE. So, my husband and I stayed here about two years or so ago and had a fine experience. I'm not sure what happened between then and now, but wow, has this place gone completely downhill. After a not-so-friendly check-in, we get to our room to find DEAD BUGS EVERYWHERE. Huge dead beetles, massive spiderweb and spiders all over the bathroom, and various other creatures. I was so grossed out. We started searching for other hotels but everywhere was booked (my husband didn't even want to try and interact with the person we checked in with again so we were trying other options). I'm so grateful I packed our own sheets and pillows or else we would've slept in the car. Our friends stayed in another room too (we were all here for a wedding) and same thing, bugs EVERYWHERE. The rooms were SO dirty too, the massive amount of dust in the air conditioner/heat was disturbing, the room smelled awful, we had a pack of skunks (no joke) on our dirty patio so we couldn't use it, and there was a strange handprint on the wall. The place definitely hadn't been cleaned. The morning of check-out, I told the front desk about our terrible experience and all she said was \"I'll pass it on to housekeeping,\" and brushed it off. I was shocked. Not even a sorry or how can we make it up to you? Nothing. She truly could care less. I told her I took photos of all the bugs and I'd post them to warn others and she just said OK. We will NEVER stay here again. Look elsewhere when you're in this area!!

The couches were torn in the bedroom and so dirty looking in both living room and bedroom I refuse to sit on them. The carpet was sooo dirty as well. We had no problem getting to the indoor pool which is 18 minutes away. Wonderful pool and hot tub. And i could tell in the sumer there is so much to do. Would love to return!

Only issue for me is the fireplace that was supposed to be in the two bedroom I had and was not, as well as the huge stain in the carpet as soon as you walk in the place, that was kind of an eye sore. We like to stay this resort. It’s so reasonable and close to the brewery and restaurants. According to the info, the check in time is 4pm -8pm. But when we arrived at the office 7:30, no one was there and it took for awhile to found out room key in the lock box.
The room was clean and warm, set around 65F. Linens/towels were washed and set up nice. We enjoyed the view from the balcony.
This is out 5th time here and we know that we had to place dirty dished/glasses in dish washer before we leave. But we didn’t know that the dish washer were fully loaded from the last guests. It was bit awkward.

The staff were helpful and friendly. The condo was clean and well stocked. The view was beautiful. The lake a short walk across the road. The only challenge was no communication withe propertyanager prior to arrival. I had to assume and guess where/how to check in. Also there was a discrepancy with check out time between listing and condos requirements. Overall though it was an enjoyable and good place to spend a long weekend.

The pool amenity is superb, but the facility is an 18-minute drive from the Tanglwood resort. It was disappointing to have to hop in the car every time we wanted to go for a swim or workout. I wish it had been clearer on Expedia's site and in the information materials that the pool is not actually on the premises of the resort. Other than that, the property was lovely, well-maintained and suited our needs very well. The stairs up to the unit, and the in-unit spiral staircase could also present a problem for travelers with physical disabilities and/or children under age three.

We really enjoyed spacious condo and view of the lake. It was an amazing place to stay with plenty to do within the resort during the warmer weathers. We didn't get to experience much of it given we were there for snow sports. Friendly staff, his and her sinks in separate bathroom, spacious closet space in bedroom, balcony with great view, and pull out couch. The kitchen was very useful in saving money eating out so much. The check in office staff person was kind, friendly, helpful and very professional. They granted us a late check out (11am) which was very much appreciated. The room was okay. The coffee table has a burn mark on it, the floor in the living room was stained in a few spots and the drapes to the sliding door had a burn mark on it, the stove countertop was also damaged, but the entire room was very clean.

Upon check-in, all seemed normal. It's a lakeside resort that is forest-covered throughout, and at one point in history, was likely very appealing.

Here's the negatives:

1) The pungeant smell upon entry was that of must and mildew combined. Almost repulsive. We quickly turned all of the 3 window AC units to High Cool in hopes of dulling the odor. WRONG.

2) There were stains on the couches, window curtains and carpets that I can't even begin to describe. I refused to walk around in anything but shoes OR allow myself to sit on anything made of fabric. Absolutely off-putting. The management for this resort should be ashamed.

3) The beds were made neatly, but a dead spider was on one of the pillows. In fact, spiderwebs were draped around the bedroom like a haunted house. We slept in hooded sweatshirts / sweatpants.

We desperately called around to a few places to see if we could escape Tanglwood Resort. Here is verbatim from our soon-to-be-lodgeing when asked where we currently were staying: \"Oh... oh, I am SO sorry. This isn't the first time we've had a call like this. Hold on - I am going to check with housekeeping to see how quickly they can get a room ready so that we can get you out of there\".

We ended up leaving after the 1st night and headed to a similiarly rated establishment --- the only difference being that this place actually was true to it's claims. Alas, we did spend for 1 night there as we did 2 nights at Tanglwood, but it was WELL WORTH it.

This was not the greatest experience, but you can do anything if you have to. The entry doors were filled with cobwebs, as was the bathroom. The rooms were musty and when the fan was on, the odor became very noticeable and sometimes smelled of urine. The sliding door to the balcony was broken so there was no way to cross ventilate the room. They had soap, but no shampoo. We were told to empty our own trash in the big trash receptacles. Had I known I had to climb a hill with my luggage, I would have brought my own car. They should invest in golf carts, they are everywhere in this area. Check out time was moved from 11:00am on the website when I first booked, to 10:00am. I had an hour to wait (not in a room but outside) for my ride to come and get me. It really is not near anything walkable. You need a car to get anywhere.

Won't be staying here again.

Walked into room and a large spider web.... Room smelled like it hadn't been used in years. Dead Bugs on the bathroom sink and bathtub. Explained this when checking out and just heard excuses!

What a welcoming pleasant relaxing atmosphere! We went with our two children who absolutely loved it. Large comfortable condos, beautiful sprawling grounds, convenient amenities- all just seconds away from picturesque Lake Wallenpaupack. A wonderful retreat for a family. Would definitely come back here.

The property is an older resort but was clean and very nice. The pool was great and the location, right across from the lake, can't be beat!

There was nothing we did not like. The rec center and programs for the kids was wonderful. Our grandchildren loved it!!!The staff was very accommodating, courteous and professional. Their pool was large, clean and very well kept. We will be back!!!

Expect to get a room, and that's about it!

The hotel owner is clearly trying to save money for their failing hotel. No shampoo, no conditioner, no coffee, single ply toilet paper (seriously), tiny piece of soap, only two small pillows on a king size bed, the comforter was a piece of felt. Also, there were dirty dishes in the dish washer.
