We, two couples, were there for almost 2 weeks and really enjoyed. Now, when cold weather is coming, I appreciate that paradise, both place and hotel, even more. The grounds of this hotel are beautiful, the pool area and the mountains in the background are just devine! Absolutely loved it. Large spacious rooms and ours had a lovely view of the gardens. The hotel is in an excellent location. Lovely beach. Walking distance to amenities like supermarket. Room was spacious very clean and comfortable. Got a hard pillow when requested. Dining options very good. Staff very helpful and friendly.
What could be improved is mattresses on sunbeds and real milk for coffee in room.

The overall place was lovely, the rooms were good minus the fact the bathroom is fully open to the room with a door you can see through when going to the toilet, if you are going to a number 2, the other person can see you!

Gluten free options were a struggle at this hotel, we gave some advice to staff but I had a few issues with being glutened. It's probs one to avoid if you are coeliac. 'Soy sauce' has gluten in!

An amazing place to stay! Staff couldn’t do enough and the food is incredible. Having a coral reef right on our beach was just the best. We saw an amazing array of fish and a juvenile bull shark whilst snorkeling with the guide from the hotel. Wonderful memories that will stay with us forever.

Pros - The resort is nice, and the beach is beautiful! It also has a kids' club, which is quite a welcome respite for the little ones.

Cons - The food is average at best, and definitely not worth the prices. Also, there are only two restaurants open in the afternoon. The service is a hit or miss. Some staff are super friendly and helpful, especially around kids, while some are curt and not very helpful.

Amazing property and service!

Amazing stay at Story as our home base to explore the Seychelles. The rooms were very clean, the food at the restaurants was high quality for an island (we particularly liked Trader Vick’s and their Asian restaurant for dinner), the property was in great shape with a nice boutique vibe as well. The concierge helped us find a nice taxi driver that we used throughout our stay and he was extremely reliable on pickup times for the airport and excursions. They also helped us arrange a day trip to La Digue island, which was amazing. We found the beach the hotel island to be the most swimmable since calm with limited rocks compared to other beaches especially La Digue where some of the more famous beaches are. Definitely plan on coming back to the Seychelles and would stay here again for sure.

Beautiful hotel which was perfect for our honeymoon. The attention to detail, tips, quality of food and amenities, and luxurious decor were perfect. The staff were incredibly friendly and a special shoutout to chef Suresh, waiting staff Manish and Aye who took extra care to look after us on our tete-a-tete one year anniversary dinner, Seyshima and breakfast. Another special shoutout to pool staff Santhian and Jerry who helped us with everything pool and beach-related.

I have written a seperate review for Seyshima so I’ll write about the tete-a-tete, Trader Vic’s (cool fusion restaurant with live music), Eden, and Vasco’s (buffet restaurant) over here.

Tete-a-tete: all four courses were served perfectly cooked with the texture appropriate for the cuisine as well as the produce used. The food items were cooked to the right standard fitting for a special occasion. Manish was a great camera man for us as well, getting all the right photos in too. For the price, this is certainly worth it for the right occasion.

Trader Vic’s: The atmosphere matched the drinks and the food in terms of the best of qualities. Again, the waiting staff were generous with wanting us to have the best experience. The live musician had all the couples up cha-chaing between drinking. Perfect for all couples/groups.

Eden: Another great restaurant by the pool which serves up their more luxurious food. The waiting staff was proactive and made sure we were recommended food to our preference.

We loved an everything about this property! The layout of the resort was beautiful and convenient. The. Buildings were low so you could see the beautiful mountain behind it. The landscaping was beautiful. The beach is beautiful! The resort employees were all so cheerful, helpful, knowledgeable and eager to do anything they could to make our stay the best possible experience. The restaurants at the resort were the best meals we had while in Seychelles. We will definitely stay at STORY any time we return!

The hotel is truly 5*, the staff are so friendly and helpful and the food is amazing. Pool is gorgeous with access right on the beach.
If you’re not staying here all-inclusive I would recommend hiring a car, however the hotel does offer excursions.

The staff were brilliant and the customer service we received during our stay was fantastic. Neige was particularly sweet on our check-in. The attention to detail regarding the reason for our stay ie honeymoon and my birthday was very much appreciated, our thanks to the team. The hotel grounds are beautiful. The room we had was perfect for us and a very nice view over the pool and beach. The only negatives I can point out were housekeeping services were not up to standard, each time they cleaned the room, it was obvious it was a very quick fix and not properly cleaned and the other negative was the food, not only extraordinarily expensive but we struggled for our 9 nights stay because we did not enjoy the food in none of the 3 restaurants they have and we did not want to pay 60 euros per person for the buffet dinner restaurant as it seemed excessive plus that restaurant was always mostly empty which I think could be avoided if a more reasonable price was set. Other than these two aspects we did love everything else and we recommend this place wholeheartedly.

This is a really special hotel, the staff are all very welcoming, polite and nothing is too much trouble. The hotel oozes quality; food options and portions are more than generous; slightly too generous at times. The different restaurants in the confines of the hotel offer diversity and are a foodies delight. All of this does come at a cost, but you are 5star in the Seychelles so be prepared! All inclusive was in my opinion a real plus and the only practical option for us. Closing words must be the Staff who from the top down were outstanding. Very nice location on the beach but the beach is very busy with public access. Good facilities with gym, tennis restaurants etc. Nice bar. Sadly we found it dirty in places and the general areas were a bit úsed'. our room was nice but again not very clean( shower mouldy )_ Staff were good and helpful but let down by the state of things, we left early an were re-imbursed for nights not spent( although we were offered an upgrade it was not what we were looking for) plenty of other places to stay that were better, we stayed in two others for the duration of our stay and they were great.

I enjoyed my stay at the Story. Rooms are well appointed, bed and pillows were amazing. Our room had issues with hot water - it worked for one day when i complained but the next day was back to luke warm. This is not a good thing. Pool is great. Beach area is small. Breakfast was good but limited if staying for more than a few days. Food in the restaurants is very expensive and we ate out each night.

Finally i was disappointed with the policy of not refunding for lost nights. Our flight was delayed and we arrived 2 days later than our reservation. They would not give us a refund even though this was not our fault. There was no compensation offered and i find this quite annoying for a 5 star hotel.

Check-in could have gone more smoothly.

STORY was the 5th of 5 hotels we stayed at on our Seychelles honeymoon. The grounds were beautiful and lush, the beach was easily accessible and the pools looked nice although we didn’t use them. Communication with the hotel was a challenge prior to arrival as they didn’t respond to any emails, and while their the WhatsApp messaging service - similarly non-responsive. Oddly the room was designed for 2 twin beds, but they pushed the 2 together to call it a King Room. The bathroom door was half opaque meaning that the top third the door was see-through which was an odd design.

They were wonderfully accommodating to our dietary restrictions. They made gf pancakes on the spot for my husband, and had special vegan menus at Eden and Trader Vic’s. Get the Mai Tai at Trader Vic’s!!

Overall a wonderful stay aside from those small things

I just returned from this lovely hotel. It was my first visit to the Seychelles and I purposely booked somewhere which is located on one of the best beaches and access to other restaurants

Upon arrival from the UK we were offered our room quite quickly.
Neige went through the details of the hotel and ensured we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

The pool was just dreamy, always clean warm and amazing views of the beach on one side and the green mountains on the other
The staff around the beach and pool were always happy and willing to help. Lallit was particularly helpful and took some great Picts of us at the beach at sunset - thank you!

We visited Trader Vics - food was ok and a little pricey for the portions provided.

Our favourite restaurant was Seyshima. There are only 4 members of staff running the entire restaurant - but my goodness what great team work. I was blown away.
The food service and ambience was perfect every time we ate here. Aye & Tanya we’re particularly brilliant to say the least.
They suggested great recommendations on what to order - they spoke highly of how well they are treated by the resort and that was really heart warming to hear.

It was my birthday , the hotel provided a lovely cake and beautiful decor on my birthday which was greatly appreciated

Probably the best property in Beau Vallon

The room is very spacious with two wardrobes and the bed large king size was comfy. The only left down was Nescafé granules coffee and not having a Nespresso coffee machine. In 2023, this is almost unacceptable for 5 star properties. Also toiletries made in China is not great. I would prefer ones made in EU.

As a gold member of hotels.com I was not offered an upgrade or late check out- only 20% off spa.

Breakfast had many options and also offers champagne. Beach is nice but prefer the beaches in south of Mahe and for that Mango House hotel is better located. For restaurants outside the resort, Story hotel is better located. Service at Trader’s Aviv restaurant a bit slow

I stayed here with my wife in Jan 2023. First off, the weather was nice and sunny for the most part.

The resort is on the beach, and the grounds are lovely. It feels very tropical. Beau Vallon beach is busy and the sea conditions vary from calm to lots of waves, which can be good fun. It’s about 15 minutes from the airport in a taxi (cost about €45)

We had a suite on the ground floor. The room was spacious, the bed was huge and the shower and bath were great.

We ate in all the restaurants. In hindsight staying for 10 days was maybe too long as we ran out of food options. The pool side bar (Ripples) is very expensive. 2 x club sandwiches, 2 x beers, 2 x cokes and a desert was nearly about €80! Overall the food quality was good. Freshly cooked and tasty.

The staff are very friendly, always saying hello with a nice smile, but could be a little more attentive. They forgot my order, and are slow to serve, but it didn’t bother my too much. I wasn’t in a hurry :)

I would have liked better entertainment in the evening. There wasn’t much on and after 11pm if felt like a graveyard. However some people might like a quiet night, so maybe this is a personal thing.

Overall, I think this resort is up there with the best on Seychelles. It sits in the landscape with a lovely pool, good location and very friendly staff.

Areas to improve are a little bit more professionalism, better prices for food, and a bit more on that entertainment front.

Nice resort with friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast, nice pool, clean beach. The spa is also very nice. The restaurants were nice but the food was generally a bit bland (which seems to be the case across the board in Seychelles). Note that most of the seafood is flown in from Asia! It's expensive for what it is, but it is in line with other resorts in the area. The setting is beautiful and the sea is lovely!

STORY Seychelles is a beautiful hotel with a lot of really picturesque areas. Our only issue with this hotel was the expense! They have a lot of restaurants on property, which we were looking forward to, but they are OUTRAGEOUS. For example, the \"best\" burger at the poolside bar was $30USD. It was not worth it.

We did rent a car ($50-$60/day) to be able to explore the island and get meals off-property, which was very worth it. Parking at the hotel is convenient and free. Be careful driving on Mahe, roads are very tricky to navigate.

We celebrated our 10yr anniversary at STORY Hotel and the front desk staff ensured that we were celebrated. We stayed in a Beach Pool Villa and it was very spacious and inviting. From check-in to check-out STORY hotel made it very easy, and they were very accommodating with a late check out since we had a late night flight. The grounds were beautifully kept, housekeeping was excellent and made sure we had plenty of clean towels during our stay. The on-site restaurants esp - Trader Vics, and Vascos, were very good. We loved it and would definitely recommend STORY to anyone.

We loved our stay here especially for the spa! The spa service was amazing!! Giles from the spa taught me how to perfect my own massage skills which was a worthwhile experience! You must visit the spa at Story it is very luxurious and amazing experience. Even if you are staying elsewhere on the island you must have a treatment at the Story spa while in the Seychelles!

Arrived early in the morning and reception ensured we had somewhere to freshen up immediately.
Room was ready late morning but by that time we were already settled at the pool enjoying the fabulous sea view. Over a 7day stay we eat in six of the hotel restaurants - all were very good. The full team at the STORY made every effort under difficult circumstances with the various required restrictions due to COVID, to make us feel welcome and looked after. They were so happy to see tourists put their trust in the Seychelles.
We made use of the gym, and complimentary yoga classes, kayaking, snorkelling, volleyball. There is a great dive shop next door to the Hotel. The walk along the beach is a perfect way to start the morning and the beach is exactly the place to end the day with the most extraordinary sunsets. We also travelled into Victoria by local bus - 9 rupee vs about 30 euro for a taxi. The bus stop is right outside the hotel. If you want to eat outside of the hotel, walk along the beach and you will find a number of restaurants. Beau Vallon beach is very safe and easy to swim in high and low tide. we had a wonderful time and the service at the poolside - and friendliness of the staff was exceptional. Big thank you to the STORY team. hope to see you all again one day.

Very good, little improvement needed.

Very friendly staff everywhere. Comfortable room and good facilities. Cleanliness of the room could have been better (dirty floor). Also, several caterpillars in the gym (showerd, yoga studio). Beach and pool area were kept nice and clean.

Property is advertized as a VIP Access property on Hotels.com (and Expedia), which should entitle you to a few benefits (such as guaranteed 2-hour late check-out, if gold level). However, staff at the reception had absolutely no idea of any of this. Weird...Why is the hotel then part this program, if the staff is not even aware of it? For the price charged per night, these issues should be better handled. Also, Hotels.com staff was not at all helpful when contacted.

Anyway, we would stay here again. The friendliness of the staff and the excellent location are already good reason enough to make us stay here again.

Bad service overall. Long check in process. They called me room 5 times to ask me to pay for $20 mini bar item. Asked guest service multiple requests and all either didn’t happen or took very long to happen. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Beautiful resort, amazing island and fabulous service. The location is perfect, right on the beach and within a short walk from a few restaurants / across the road from the mini market and small casino. Felt very safe during COVID-19 times and everyone we encountered was incredibly welcoming & friendly. Would definitely return

Great location - right next to the beach with excellent swimming and lounging options. Due to covid, not all restaurants were open (this applied everywhere, not just at the hotel), but the available options were great. Staff was lovely and very helpful. Everything was very clean and well organized. If you can, get a room with a view of the mountains, the sunrise is gorgeous and worth getting up early for.

We keep coming back to STORY Seychelles. We have been there 3 times now - last time for 2 weeks.

Seychelles is Paradise and STORY is a great place to enjoy it all.

Everything was perfect, the location, the staff, the facilities.. the breakfast was less good then it should be and I guess it’s because the COVID restrictions- there was no buffet.
There are few restaurants near by so there is no need for half board.

Staff were lovely and helpful ...a lot of the guests were very miserable though
The prices were very expensive.. we went just bed and breakfast
And found the hotel prices were excessive for food and drink .
There is a little super market over the road that sells basics , beer wine crackers tuna fruit ... we bought our lunch from here each day and had a picnic on the beach ...
There is a little town area within walking distance with a couple of bars and restaurants..
The sea was lovely and warm and very shallow
A nice place for relaxation

Great hotel. Very relaxing 5 days spent.

Our stay was fantastic. Great breakfast, stunning surroundings, staff was efficient and friendly, room was comfortable and clean. The food and beverage manager went out of his way to welcome us. I celebrated my 30th birthday, the hotel really spoilt me... I even got a small cake that evening at dinner. Everything we asked for - it was taken care of. We loved the pool and it's right on the beach. Price is high, but worth every penny.

Absolutely lovely resort; the pool was perfect, so nice to have lounge chairs in the shallow parts of the pool to relax and big cabanas to stay out of the sun. Beach was fantastic - Ocean is beautiful and the sand is perfect. You feel like you are in a rain forest along around the grounds. The rooms were beautiful, comfortable and perfectly clean. Shout out to Jason the bartender who was so thoughtful, kind and fun to talk to. The entire staff was courteous, kind and lovely to be around

The service was disappointing on several occasions. The day tours they recommend are poor quality and overpriced. Food they serve is average. I had higher expectations of this hotel.
