The family room was a great size with 4 single beds and plenty of storage space.
The free onsite parking was very helpful (and the underground parking useful on the first evening when there was a big match at the football ground nearby).
It wasn’t entirely clear from our Expedia booking that our rate was room only, so I was a little surprised to need to pay for breakfast on our first morning - this was very tasty but quite pricy!

We received a room upgrade to suite which was amazing. The room was modern and huge. After a busy day the bed was fab and super comfortable. We were afforded a huge bath in the room which was lovely. All this and free parking-can’t fault it.

Very clean, quiet, and spacious room with comfortable bed, fridge, and Nespresso machine. A bit far from the city central and there's only one restaurant nearby, but you can easily take a bus for one euro or there's a couple supermarkets and fast food joints that are a five minute walk away.

This is a fantastic hotel if you’re planning to be out during the day - the building noise was, at times, awful and there’s no other place to be able to work from. A day of no water (known but not advised until the morning of the supply issue, and then only a notice in the elevators) meant no flushing toilets and no hand washing facilities - no alternatives were offered.

My room was changed on the first day as the toilet roll holder was so badly positioned it stopped the loo seat lifting up - the room I was moved to had already had this fault rectified so it was a known problem they’d not sorted out in other Junior Suite rooms.

Breakfast is good, the same every day, lovely coffee.

I opted out of having my room attended each day and was rewarded with a drink from the bar each evening.

I do not have enough positive things to say about this hotel.

The staff could not have been more helpful, the room was beautiful with great facilities, as well as being on a bus route into the centre of town.

I would happily return and recommend.

Good location, easy access, parking availability in site very handy, internet access worked great and easy to connect, good coffee and hospitality.
Great stay, recomend despite COVID times with some facilities not accessible due to the current situation but no problem, we understand.

Overall my stay was good. Staff were friendly and attentive and were more than happy to have a chat. Rowan was very friendly and welcoming. They've only just opened up again after lockdown.
so a few teething issues. I paid for breakfast but got a phone call 2 days in saying I said I didn't want breakfast anymore which was odd because I paid extra for all days. Then on the last day they didn't bring breakfast despite me telling them I needed it for 7am because of an early flight. I'm awaiting a refund for the last day. But generally good and will be back in future.

Safe but expensive very overated having stayed at B and b in France the night before for only 50 euros it made this hotel extremely expensive for what it was. Even ontbijt (breakfast) was extra. Its not even in town centre.
Easy to find and nuce staff apart from grumpy ladies who prepared the breakfast. I wont stay again. Too expensive for what it was although excellent bed and pillows. It was also noisy being on main road.

Disappointed to arrive at hotel at 1630 only to find that the room would not be available until 1800. We had a call from the hotel in mid week but no message about rooms not being available due to being double booked for the PSV team. Eventually we got the key at 1850, were given a bottle of wine to say sorry for the delay. Got a good night's sleep and traded in the bottle of wine for two free breakfasts in the morning as flying back to UK.

Very friendly hotel

Overall this was a good experience. Rooms clean and spacious. The best part was the bar manager called Andre who was a really nice man. Nothing was too much trouble and even made us cocktails not on the menu. Really friendly and chatty man. Can't comment on the food as we didn't eat there. Would recommend.

Decent hotel on the outside of town

Decent hotel, but not near city center.
The rooms was clean. Interior is dated and could be much better for a ****.
Receprion was friendly, did not use the reastaurant for breakfast.
Breakfast was not included in rate paid through Expedia.

Acceptable for a night's stay

Checking in was hassle-free. Room was spartan but clean and acceptable. Beds not exactly very comfortable but ok just for a night's stay. Hotel location was easy to find and complimentary parking was available. Bus stop just outside where you can catch the number 4 bus into town, in particular the cheese market on Friday mornings.

Golden Tulip

The hotel is about 25 minutes driving time outside of Amsterdam. It's located in a town with many shops and restaurants, a nice walking/biking path, good nature and waterways, and even a 15 minute drive to a sunny beach. If you need to be in Amsterdam, but prefer to stay outside of it, this is a great location.
It's family friendly and pet friendly as well. Free Wi-Fi when I was there.
In all, I was pleased and will return again.

Einen riesen Punktabzug gib es für das Frühstück! Dieser Preis ist in keiner Weise gerechtfertigt. Billiger Saft, billuger Käse, kaum Auswahl und am allerschlimmsten: Rührei wahrscheinlich aus Pulver hergestellt. Ansonsten war alles ok. Nach vorne und nach hinten raus die Zimmer sehr laut.

Hotel am Stadtrand von Alkmaar

Super Hotel für Alkmaar wenn man nicht zu Fuss in die Altstatt möchte. Ein Auto ist von nöten. Dafür hat es kostenlose Parkplätze was auch nicht mehr normal ist. Es gab sogar ein Zimmerupgrade. Der Zustand war gut aber auch nicht mehr ganz neu. Als Business Hotel sehr zu empfehlen

Eine Reise wert

Perfekt sind die Lage, die kostenlosen P, die Lademöglichkeiten, das Restaurant, der Schreibtisch, die Busanbindung zur Innenstadt, die Bar und das freundliche Personal. Wir haben dann auf Nachfrage auch Teegläser und Gläser für die Getränke sowie eine Vase für unsere Blumen bekommen. In Pappbechern wollten wir keinen Kaffe und keinen Tee!
Das Frühstück fanden wir nicht ansprechend, aber es gibt so viele leckere Alternativen in der City.

Wir haben für zwei Nächte eine Möglichkeit zur Übernachtung gesucht und sind hier fündig geworden. Super nettes Personal, die Junior Suite mit Badewanne im Zimmer war ein kleines Highlight. Das Frühstück war das Beste, was wir bisher in holländischen Hotels bekommen haben, und wir haben schon einige durch. Es war alles sehr schön angerichtet und das was wir probiert haben, war auch sehr lecker und hochwertig. Für unseren nächsten Besuch in Alkmaar und Umgebung, werden wir es gleich ansteuern. Top! ☺️🖖

De kamer en vooral de badkamer waren sterk verouderd. Als we de badkamer in liepen, leek het net of we bij onze oom in het verzorgingshuis op visite waren.
De receptie is geupgrade en zag er mooi uit.

Une chambre spacieuse, lit séparé pour les enfants. Literie de qualité. Propre.
Équipé d'un petit frigo, d'un coffre, d'un sèche cheveux. Calme et bien situé.
Personnel abordable et a l'écoute.
Parler anglais est indispensable.

Le petit déjeuner est frais et varié.

15 minuten lopen buiten het centrum van Alkmaar staat uitstekende 4****-waardige hotel. Prachtige ruime verzorgde en moderne kamer, had een gerenoveerde kamer geboekt. Espresso apparaat, waterkoker en koelkast. Groot 55 inch tv scherm, heerlijk bed, prima badkamer. Mooie wellness op de onderste etage. Gratis en goed buiten parkeren. Gastvrij family hotel met aardige mensen in de receptie. Aanrader.

Frühstücksraum ohne Tageslicht, da im Keller. Decke im Frühstückskeller undicht, es wurden Tücher und Eimer ausgelegt um das Wasser aufzufangen. Badezimmer in unserem Zimmer könnte mal erneuert werden. Dusche in der Badewanne. Alte Fliesen, kein schönes Ambiente. Einfach und funktional. Mehr nicht. Aber aus dem Grund passt das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis eher nicht. Würde es nicht nochmal für den Preis buchen.
