Nice 5 night stay at the Saxton Lodge. Room was clean, aircondioning worked well, good parking. Nice towels. There is a nice restaurant onsite which is open certain days and hours. Unfortunately there is no microwave or crockery or cutlery in the room. There is glasses, kettle/jug, cofee cups and spoons. There is a communal kitchen which is open until 8pm where you can obtain crockery and cutlery and bring up to your room.

Rooms on the main road side can be noisy once the traffic starts building up in the morning

This hotel was great, the staff there were so nice and welcoming.
Even though it is out of the city the rooms were clean, modern and very spacious. The only noise would be from the cars driving by.
If you have a car this is a perfect spot, if you are traveling by bus you need to plan a little more but the bus stops are right across the street so still convenient

Very friendly staff and spacious studio unit. Comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. Didn’t realise the unit had no cooking/kitchenette facilities but there was a communal kitchen we could use, along with a guest laundry. It was more akin to a large hotel room than a motel unit. The complex is on a busy corner so some traffic noise but overall a very pleasant stay.

I have never stayed anywhere as welcoming or comfortable. The owners went above and beyond and could not have been more hospitable. The beds were super comfy and the location was great for getting to and from the airport, as well as buses to the Abel Tasman track. We seldom write reviews, but we are so grateful and will definitely stay again next time we’re in Nelson.

The Saxton had everything we needed. We were doing a kayak and hiking tour in Abel Tasman National Park and stayed before and after our tour. Our flight arrived late, but the owners were there to greet us after the normal reception hours, even having their chef prepare an amazing dinner for us.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable.
The owners were lovely, full of information and recommendations.
We'll definitely stay there again during our next trip to Abel Tasman.

I had a wonderful stay at this inn. The staff was helpful and friendly, and it's conveniently located near the main road and across from the sports park. The room was spacious and clean. It's obvious that the owners and staff take pride in the property, and I truly enjoyed chatting with them during my stay! I will be back to Nelson next year and will definitely return to Saxton Lodge!

Colleen is a wonderful host and was lovely to deal with. She was really busy when we arrived but didn’t let that show. Our room was large, bright and very clean with lovely, comfy beds. Not a lot going for the property itself but we just needed beds so it fit the brief. Only (minor) issues were that the tv was fixed to the wall facing one single bed at the end of the room so not really visible from the rest of the room and the lights aren’t able to be dimmed/no bedside lamps which made it a little tricky with a baby but not a big deal, just a comfort thing.
Would happily overnight there again.

One of the best!

This place is awesome. The service was outstanding with all our requests met with a smile. Nothing was a problem. We were given a complimentary room upgrade which was superb. A lovely clean spacious room and an ensuite which was very handy with a family.
Amazing showers, great water pressure which were much appreciated after hiking for 4 days. Fantastic facilities and truly one of the best places we have ever stayed. Thank you so much.

We liked the location, it suited our daily travel very well. Staff were friendly. Rooms were very clean and tidy. Had a week overall and would definitely stay again. Laundry allowed us to take clothing racks to our own rooms to hang washing up also. A big bonus for a family!
