The rooms were fine, the location is good, and the breakfast was excellent.

The proprietors we're a little uptight, but generally accommodating.

A well maintained and clean property. Excellent quality breakfast.
Unfortunately it was cold in the bedroom and even slightly damp. I requested a portable heater but instead the central heating was switched on for a short time which was inadequate.
Bathroom was a tight fit and the shower pressure was quite low

Friendly staff, great breakfast, I loved that we had a choice of full Irish, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon or pancakes. The room was really large, bed was good and comfy. We could not get the heating to work, but kept the window closed to keep the room warmer. Shower pressure was not great, but adequate.

Nice play to stay in Waterville. Walking distance to great pubs and restaurants and the beach. Waterville is near the dark sky area in Kerry so we saw great stars on our walk home in the evening

Unwelcome but nice enough

I would normally do the positive and then hit on what's needs important but this review I feel different. The house itself is fine but at check in, I was put off. I felt like I was not welcome. I was a bother. I was hoping that by breakfast my opinion would have changed. The lady of the house wasn't mean or rude but only about the business end of things. No welcome, where ya from or anything. Her first words were when did you reserve and thru who?
The house was nice enough and the breakfast was good but still felt unwelcome. First time in 15 years of travel that I just.wont stay again due to staff

Unexpected Gem

When we booked our stay in Waterville we only did so to break up our tour of the Ring of Kerry over two days. Well we were in for quite a treat. The Klondyke House was incredible. Beautiful views of the coast from every window and lovely rooms. Cirean was such a great host and cooks an outstanding breakfast. We explored the town a bit and albeit it small it has loads of character. If you're in the mood for a nice meal and good drink on the beach check out Dooley's on the shore. I wish we could come back just to spend a few days here.

Beautiful place to stay

Gorgeous location and house to stay in the beautiful town of Waterville, where we based ourselves during our trip to Skellig Michael. Had a delicious breakfast and the wifi was excellent. Would love to stay here again if we have the opportunity to come to Ireland again.

Perfectly situated in the Ring of Kerry, about half-way through the drive and a great place to spend the night. Walking distance to gorgeous beach views and interior lake, great service, amazing breakfast, easy parking. The owner set out a note for us since we arrived late asking about our breakfast preferences--so thoughtful! Easy to park, great value for the price, exceptionally clean, beautiful view from the room, comfortable beds, safe.

Do you need to be in Waterville?

Unwelcoming place. It felt almost as if we were imposing.
Facilities were promising till we found hair on the bed.
For a B&B, I felt this place is quite overpriced.

A few days in Waterville

Klondyke House is near to the town and the beach and was lovely. We had a room with a beautiful sea view, and the garden was very nice. The breakfast was great and the owner was very helpful. During our stay we went to Valentia Island which is stunning and very interesting. The Ring of Kerry is very picturesque.

Disappointing but lots of potential

Without question this was the least friendly place we stayed during ort two weeks in Ireland - we had some wonderful experiences in many B and B's, but we were never welcomed to this inn. We never learned the name of the people that worked there - the only time they were pleasant was when they wanted to make sure we were going to pay our bill the night before because we had an early morning golf round. Very disappointing because the location and the view was wonderful, but we will never stay here again because it was so unfriendly.

Great Stay!

This was a great stay, bed was comfortable, breakfast was delicious and the view from our window was spectacular (see photos). Host was good, gave us our key upon arrival and showed us our room, then saw her during breakfast.

Lovely stop on the Ring of Kerry

Beautiful room with sea view and a pleasant walk into the centre of Waterville. Choice of hot breakfasts. I had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs (plus juice, grapefruit, toast, soda bread and tea) which was a nice change from full Irish.

Nothing really to complain about. Great beds, good bathroom with good shower. A little corner to sit in the window with nice view over ocean.

Only thing to notice is that it's a bit of a walk (1 km) to the restaurants in Waterville and along a non lit country road.

Very friendly hosts, met us on arrival and showed us to our room. room was big enough for 3 of us with very comfortable beds. nice 15 min walk along the coast in to Waterville village. Nice breakfast with a great view from the breakfast room. Really enjoyed our stay.

Excellent location, right across the road from a nice restaurant. Owners were really nice and helpful - I forgot my iPad after checking out and they called my mobile immediately to let me know.

Gute Lage mit Blick auf das Meer. Das Zimmer ließ sich leider nicht heizen und es war recht feucht. Der Ort hat nicht viel zu bieten aber das Essen im Lobster, dem lokalen Pub ist sehr zu empfehlen. Genauso die Pancakes mit Früchten beim Frühstück, die waren Extraklasse.
