The staff was friendly and very attentive. The rooms were a good size and always clean. The hotel was beautiful and one of a kind. Would 100% to everyone! It is also in a very convenient location. Lots of great restaurants, cafes, shops and historical sites nearby.

Welcoming atmosphere, the hotel housekeepers cleaned my room and I’m grateful. Very comfortable. I was out and about exploring the city I didn’t stay in the room much other than rest and sleep and get ready, they are kind of small but very comfortable for me. So beautiful the hotel is. They have AC, and hot water which was very nice. I felt safe and that’s important to me. Thank you I am a happy customer 😊 I will be back to this hotel in the future! ⭐️

Comfortable room in a great location

Quick one night stay with my family. The staff was very hospitable and helpful. We loved the atmosphere, decor, and the location! Be aware that it is tricky pulling a car up to the entrance of the hotel as it is located on a tight street that doubles as a sidewalk. We had to honk at pedestrians to move off the street in order to pull up to the entrance - it was an interesting and funny experience. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Not listed (but a plus) is that the TVs in the rooms are smart TVs, so we were able to log into our Disney+ account which was a huge win because we had our children with us. AC didn’t work great and the rooms could use some updating but overall we had a nice stay.

The location is perfect walking distance to downtown Guadalajara. There’s lots of eating options around you. As for the hotel it’s self it’s always super clean and the staff was excellent.

The only thing we didn’t like was the fact that we had to return to the hotel before 9:30 PM to be able to park the car in the garage. Otherwise it would stay out on the street. Also, one of the reasons we ended up selecting this hotel in particular was because it had bar. But all they had was beers which is not what we were expecting. But other than that we really liked it.

Terrible hotel. Looks nothing like the photos. Do not stay here. I left the second day to another hotel. It was a total fiasco trying to get my money back. You could barely use the toilet with the uncomfortable cabinet in the middle.

When arriving our room mid day the room was decent. We dropped off our bags and left for the afternoon. When arriving at night the room smelled disgusting like a plumbing issue. When going to the front desk I noticed the lady and her first comment was that room always has a smell issue. She refused to move us room and if we did we would be charge a difference. She offered to put Clorox in the restroom, which was ridiculous. She then lied to the manager and stated the room didn’t smell. She was very unprofessional and wouldn’t recommend staying here either.

Great historic property in the heart of Guadalajara Centro. Our room and bathroom were a bit on the small side, but the AC, hot water and other amenities were all great and the hotel was an excellent base point for exploring the city on foot and by car. Loved that it was a historic location. Restaurant offered solid basic breakfast options to start the day. A bit more personality in the rooms (decor) would go a long way 😉 but definitely would stay here again for the value.

the hotel is very central downtown , very well located, not fancy ,but clean , no amenities barely , but then again it is what is and what you are paying for .old but well kept , clean and safe , i was there for 2 nights alone
no food service , no ice ,no kitchen in the night ,so either eat somewhere else or go to the oxxo crossing the street and buy munchies for dinner or later ,
breakfast is ok a la carte and extra pay
no elevator only stairs staff was helpful carrying luggage upstairs
very quiet at night
they people on the night shift not so friendly not so helpful
the ones in the morning very pleasing and helpful

I highly recommend this hotel to families who want to stay in Guadalajara and be at walking distance to most of the attractions that Guadalajara has to offer. The hotel staff was very awesome and courteous specially Victor. Victor even arranged our taxi at 2 am since we had a very early flight and made sure we arrived safe and sound at the airport. Highly recommended. Get the family suite if you are a family !

Joel was very friendly and helpful as well. I would not have a problem in making this hotel my choice when staying in Guadalajara. Where do I begin...from the outside, it looked like many of the old buildings in the area; however, once you walked through the doorway, you were greeted by staff and an impressionable view of a original architecture. The room was small, but it was only my husband and I and we didn't spend a lot of time there even though we were staying for 11 days. We only were there to sleep and shower. We purposely stayed at this hotel to get that old world charm. The staff was extremely friendly and always greeted us. We are not demanding guest but they always asked us if we needed anything. Inclusive, because we were there for 11 days, we needed more hangers than what was in the room. One of the attendants went and bought us a couple more packs. They didn't have to do that. I was willing to buy more on my own. The property is centrally located in the historic center and it is surrounded by many churches, shopping, touristic areas, restaurants, etc. within walking distances. I don't know what their larger rooms look like but if what you are looking for is old-world charm, this is the place.

Note: I did read the reviews regarding paying for your stay. On Expedia, it states to pay at the hotel. I did contact the hotel to pay in advance because I wanted to ensure there were no issues when we arrived. They made it easy and were in constant communication with me. They also offer transportation from the airport.

Had our passports and other valuables stolen in less than 6 hours after we checked into our room and when we went and talked to the front desk all they could say was that yes indeed someone picked the lock and went into our room that it’s never happened before yet there is only supposed to be only one way in and one way out for hotel guest!

This was our first stay in Guadalajara and at Hotel Real de Castilla and we will be back! The hotel has a beautiful old-world charm. The staff was very friendly. Victor arranged transportation from the airport for us, and he offered help arranging tours as well. The location of the hotel was perfect for walking to the cathedral, shopping, and many restaurants. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Hotel Real de Castilla again and will recommend it to my friends!

The property was nice and unkept, but the hotel apparently doesn’t believe in a quiet policy. My next door tenants threw full blown parties 2 out of the 3 nights that I stayed. I called to complain, and they would stay quiet for 20mins, before blasting music again.

Reservamos 2 noches.
El 1er día nos escribieron para confirmar y confirmamos, dijimos que llegaríamos solo la 2da noche por imprevistos, pero que sí llegaríamos.
Respondieron que no había problema, que cobrarían las 2 noches y nos esperaban.
Al día siguiente volvieron a escribir pero estábamos en carretera sin señal.
El llegar, de noche, nos dijeron que la reserva se había cancelado \"por no confirmar\" cuando el día anterior confirmamos, cobraron las 2 noches y dijeron que nos esperaban.
El gerente fue falsamente condescendiente, tanto que resultaba molesta su actitud de falsa empatía.
En algún momento cuando le dije que había hablado con él por chat, dijo que había sido con el sistema, que el sistema me había cancelado y que si quería, hablara convenciera al sistema.
Su tono excesivamente amable mientras decía todo eso, resultaba insultante.
La zona no es ni segura, ni bonita, estuvimos afuera en la calle tratando de resolver algo, 'por seguridad' cerró la puerta del hotel y nos dejó afuera.
No hizo el más mínimo esfuerzo por recuperar nuestra reservación QUE YA ESTABA PAGADA.
Según él, debimos responder el 2do mensaje para conservar la reserva ¿En qué sistema cabe eso? Habíamos confirmado el día anterior y nos habían respondido que nos esperarían.
Enviamos capturas de pantalla a Hoteles.com y estamos esperando el rembolso.
