The Hotel Golf Mar is dated it's true but it's also clean, peaceful & has multiple dining options. The ocean view rooms with balconies are great you can sit & watch the sunset & go to sleep listening to the sound of the sea against the rocks perfect.
If you feel so inclined the spa services are fab I had a 30 minute detox facial & a 20 minute relaxing & stress releasing neck,shoulder & back massage I highly recommend them both. The staff are amazing almost all the staff members I came into contact with spoke or understood enough English for us to communicate effectively which is great as my very limited Portuguese wouldn't have gotten us very far.

facilities outdated, need upgrade.
only 2 elevators from lobby, capacity 4. and a third on other side of building which is 12 stories high.During our stay (2 days), only one of the two elevators was working at any particular time. used stairs frequently. Had to recharge room keys at least 3 times.

Hello, this is the first time I came with my son to this hotel, is really nice if you are looking for some peaceful days.

Hotel is general is okay, the decoration is very simple, we like our room.

If you don't drive like me it can be hard at some point because you will have to stay around the hotel, or order a taxi but it can be expensive.

I do recommend to visit 2 beaches they are very close, few minutes walking.

Also try the inside pool, my son love it!

The view from terrace was fantastic and the natural areas around very beautiful. The bathrooms and room and terrace could be a bit more modern and toilet fixed because after flushing water continued to run as the piece was apparently damaged. Great reception service.

Great Views Looking Out. Brutalist Looking In!

Fantastic view from balcony on sixth floor, comfy bed and good breakfast, but the hotel is a visual monstrosity from the outside and is in urgent need of updating and TLC on the inside. There was a big storm on the night of our stay and a hinge was broken on our window so it wouldn’t close properly. The carpet was tired, and the toilet ballcock was broken so the flush streamed unabated. The decoration and furnishings were also very dated. The roof of the indoor pool leaked so badly that our clothes, stored on the sun loungers at the side of the pool, were wet when we came out of the water.

O staf do hotel é muito simpatico e proativo na resolução de problemas. As piscinas do hotel são maravilhosas e o bar do hotel também é muito bom e aconchegante.
Infelizmente o hotel tem alguns pontos negativos que prejuticam muito a estadia. Os quartos do hotel são relativamente velhos e davam a impressão de estarem sujos apesar de não estarem. O hotel possui somente dois elevadores que são pequenos para o tamanho do hotel, o que cria um congestionamento muito grande para subir e descer, principalmente nos horarios de pico, algumas vezes para me locomover tive que usar o de staf pois demorava muito para usar o social (isto não é um problema foi parte do staf sendo proativo no problema), mas para ir ao terreo necessitava utilizar estes elevadores e em alguns momentos demorei mais de 5 minutos para conseguir utilizar o elevador. Apesar do bar ser bom, o restaurante achei caro pelo o que é oferecido, eram poucas opções para um refeição de 25 Euros além da demora para a reposição.

Un hotel antiguo donde las fotos de la habitación guardan mucha distancia de la realidad.
La gente del hotel muy amable y el servicio bueno.

Comfortable traditional Portuguese style hotel. Great location and good facilities on site. Staff are friendly and keen to ensure your stay is enjoyable and you have everything you need. We asked the management team to change rooms to a sea view and within 48 hours they were able accommodate our request and allocated us connected rooms on 11th floor , with amazing views of the sunset.

Spacious and clean room. great outdoor and indoor pools - although we used only the outdoor one that has great view over the beach. Another fantastic feature was the easy access from the pool to the beach if you fancy a dive in the ocean (but don't forget to get the pin code from Reception to be able to get back to the pool). Fresh pool towels every day and children loved the Adventure Park. The daily free children activities are a bonus for any younger children.
Breakfast room was huge and food availability always top even at very busy times! Definitely a place to return.

Disappointing. Much more of a hotel for locals clearly, as many of the staff were not keen to help us (we are not from the area) and seemed to withhold a lot of key information from us that everyone clearly had. Additionally, the grounds and hotel in general were run-down, disorganized and overall just seemed to be falling deeper into disrepair. Beach was nice though, and the food in the little area by the beach was fine. Transportation to and from Lisbon was extremely difficult and expensive too, so either rent a car or dont stay here if you want to go literally anywhere else.

Views are amazing - resort reminds me of old world Portugal and modern day feel. If your in the hotel on weekend make sure to have the crepe for breakfast. Only one complaint about indoor pool - awesome fountains only come on for 10 minutes every 4 hours.

Great and very attentive staff,mediocre /poor food,great sunset view after moving room,small rooms,nice balcony,noisy as the walls are thin and everything is tile,70's building poorly refurbished,old tv, poor lighting to read by (I'm 60), room for tourist buses in parking (beware), bunch of chaperoned kids there when I was there indicates to me that this where school/ scout parties stay,ridiculously expensive wifi but they do provide computers in the lobby, great inside and outside pools but even bald guys need a rubber swim cap ( on sale at the reception!! Hmmmm), magnificent beaches but the place is NOT recommended unless you get a deal and stay out of season. Unless you like Coney Island of course.Need a car to escape to town north of the hotel where there are restaurants and stores. Try Peniche.

Decepção a vista.

Primeira vez que fico em um hotel em que o atendente informa que o ar condicionado não está incluso, sem haver qualquer menção no site da Hoteis.com. Além disso, haviam nos colocado em um apartamento próximo as antenas de celulares para "cozinharmos". Falta de responsabilidade total. Isto gerou uma tensão tão grande internamente que tive que ir à recepção e informar o quão indignado estava com a resposta do Senhor "G" que me atendeu de forma fria e sem qualquer foco em Cliente. Ao ameaçar ir embora nos colocaram em um outro apartamento parecido com as fotos que possuiam no site. A equipe é super educada e atenciosa, porém o local necessita de uma reforma urgente.

O hotel razoável.

O hotel e gigante, parece um transatlântico, com uma vista espetacular para o mar, tem piscina aquecida interna e uma piscina externa, sala de jogos, restaurante enorme, bar, SPA, entre outras facilidaes, os quartos peçam na mobília antiga, precisam ser reformados, possuem frigobar e só tem aquecimento.
Infelizmente durante nossa hospedagem o vento muito forte e chuvas atrapalharam a nossa estadia.
Mas tirando essa condição e os móveis do quarto o hotel é bom, recebe muitos grupos e familias.

Um fim de semana para descansar... só que não

A primeira noite foi péssima. O hotel tinha seis grupos de empresas com funcionários totalmente embriagados numa noitada de discoteca do próprio hotel, falatório até as3h da manhã, risadas, música alta, enfim tudo o que não se quer quando se deseja ter uns dias de escapada e descanso. O hotel deveria ter avisado no momento da reserva que estava com esses grupos e que possivelmente iriam criar mais agitação que o habitual. É lamentável ter de se chamar a polícia para pôr cobro à situação. Não foi possível mudar se quarto pois, de acordo com a recepção, o hotel estava lotado.
A segunda noite foi muito mais calma, como se quer pois os tais grupos acabaram por sair e aí sim, deu para descansar um pouco.
Quanto às instalações, acusam o desgaste do tempo com mobiliário muito usado mas assim mesmo dentro do razoável. O pequeno almoço buffet muito agradável bem como a piscina interior.
Relação preço/qualidade muito elevado para um hotel de 3* a precisar de renovações. O localização é excelente mas deixa-nos de pé atrás num possível regresso.

Foi uma experiência magnífica desde a receção, à limpeza em geral e do quarto, à qualidade da roupa de cama e toalhas, aos excelentes pequenos almoços, às fabulosas piscinas (sendo a interior com spa incorporado e a uma temperatura da água muito agradável), à praia mesmo ao lado. Carpete do quarto não muito limpa. Casa de banho com o piso e louças sanitárias a precisar de serem trocados! Portas velhas e um pouco danificadas. Elevadores insuficientes para a quantidade de hóspedes, muito tempo à espera!!!

Pas beaucoup de gens à l'hôtel et le peu de personne c'était les gens de la région, on entendait la langue du pays.

l'hôtel est perdu en haut de la falaise, parfait pour le calme et la tranquillité et pour des balades à pied sans le stress des voiture/ville.
Par contre, si vous ne souhaitez pas manger à l'hôtel ou bouger, il faut une voiture. Le village le plus proche est à quelques minutes en voiture.

L'hôtel est bien, une magnifique piscine avec une belle vue sur l'océan et accès directe à la "plage" (juste quelque escaliers). Nous avons bien appréciés notre séjours à l'hôtel et des piscines (intérieur et extérieur).

Boa localização, pessoal simpático e atencioso. No entanto para os preços praticados poderiam e deveriam investir mais na remodelação dos quartos para dar melhores condições aos clientes.

Boa experiência de sossego

A piscina foi das maiores que já encontramos o que é agradável, a vista é de facto deslumbrante e o silêncio e sossego é mesmo real como um retiro.
É claro que não proporciona a modernidade de outros hotéis mais recentes mas também não será a parte mais importante.
Para um hotel três estrelas até achei muito acima da classificação nas condições proporcionadas e o pequenos almoço por exemplo estava acima da média.

Funcionários muito simpáticos, áreas do hotel bastante agradáveis. Apenas ficámos desiludidos com o quarto. Decoração e recheio desantiquados... Não combinam com o resto do hotel, necessitava de uma remodelação.

Hotel com potencial

O hotel tem uma estrutura excelente porém há a necessidade de melhoria da manutenção. O quarto tem um tamanho muito bom porém os móveis não estão nas melhores condições (nossas cortinas eram remendadas com silver tape) Os pontos altos são o café da manhã, a piscina coberta, a cordialidade dos funcionários e à vista para o mar. Os pontos negativos são a conservação e a falta de climatização individualizada por quarto (talvez um problema nas épocas mais quentes).

Muito desagradavel

Trocaram o nosso quarto por outro mais barato com o nome de outra pessoa
Ofereceram nos um quarto com carpete e cortinado rasgados
Retoques de pintura nos moveis com cor diferente
Quarto frio sem aquecimento
Buffet de jantar sem batata cozida
Buffet de pequeno almoco sem maquina de leite e cafe separados
Oferecem uma maquina de venda para tal... horrivel!
Nao tem tostas nem compotas
Iogurte servido numa tigela!!!
Sugerimos que troquem a maquina de venda pelas maquinas tradicionais de leite e cafe quente e o iorgute a ser fornecido por venda...
Tivemos que sair do hotel para tomar pequeno almoco
Piscina grande mas tinham portas abertas a circular o ar frio da rua!!??
