This is a purpose built hotel on edge of town, close by the motorway. There is an outdoor car park. Some building work was in progress but, other than closing the outdoor pool and surrounding area, this had no impact on our stay. There is also a small(ish) indoor pool and gym.

There were English speaking staff on reception, at bar and in the restaurant. The bar was nice with good, very helpful, barman.

We had a spacious well-equipped room which had everything you could reasonably want.

We enjoyed an excellent dinner in restaurant with great attentive, but not intrusive, service.

The whole experience was what we have grown use to over the years in Paradors and we were consequently really happy with our stay.

Beautifully appointed, old style building. Bar food choices were excellent and open when the restaurant wasn’t. They had some vegan options, which was appreciated. Some drinking water in the bedroom would have been good, the hotel isn’t close to shops and the bar water is quite expensive.

We booked a one night stay at the Parador de Tordesillas as part of our journey from Bilbao to Caceres. It was a convenient stopping point in a hotel with character. We received a warm welcome and were allocated room 317 (double deluxe room) which was beautiful. It had a view over the pool, was a very good size with seating area and four poster bed. The bathroom was massive with separate toilet. The wifi was good as well.

We were given a ticket for access to the pool and pool towels but we did not have time to use them although the pool looked very inviting.

We did not eat dinner there as we preferred to see a bit of the town and ate in the Plaza Mayor (lots of places there open on a Sunday).

We had to book breakfast at a specific time which was a little annoying but I totally understand that there are maybe less staff than usual to look after guests. Breakfast was very good with cooked options available cooked to order.

My only comment is that as the room is a good size it would have been nice to have had some facilities to make tea and coffee (there was a little fridge) but having stayed in a number of Paradors, I seem to remember this is a standard.

All in all a good stay in a lovely room in a convenient location.

There’s nothing very wrong with this place but nothing very right about it either. You can’t really walk into town but then Tordesillas isn’t really worth visiting. There was no info in our room about food on site i.e. menus. Had bad experience with restaurant in town, very expensive compared to most places in inland Spain. Breakfast was quite good.

Nice place for a short stay

Enjoyed our stay celebrating our anniversary here at the Parador Hotel. Room was facing an interior courtyard, but had plenty of light, breeze and privacy. There was an \"off\" odor in the room when we entered, that disappeared after we opened the windows. Not sure if it was coming from the heat, but it wasn't an issue once we turned it off and opened the windows.

Bathroom was large with nice towels. Comfortable bed for a good night's sleep.

Breakfast (included in our rate) was a comprehensive buffet. Hygiene was a little more crazy than other hotels we stayed at during our 30-day tour of Spain (including dried apricots repackaged into a small jam jar), but they did provide cava upon request.

Needed to print a couple of documents for work and retrieving them from the front desk staff was challenging, but ultimately we were able to print them.

If you don't want to eat in the hotel's restaurant, there's a nice restaurant just down the road (a short walk) from the hotel with a menu del dia all day, or it's an easy drive into town to any of the restaurants there. Be sure to tour the treaty house and the convent in Tordesillas. And go to the bakery \"Pasteleria de Galicia\" for some polvorones. Look at breakfast at the Parador for a sample...you'll be hooked!

You're also less than an hour's drive from Valladolid.

We have stayed in Paradores for over 40 years and many times at this Parador in Tordesillas. This was not a good experience we stay because we enjoy the luxury and the standards have always been excellent. They now allow pets to stay and that is a bad move. Every-time someone walked up or down the corridor a dog barked. Even at 3 am thus waking us. Please bring this to the attention of the hotel we were en route to Santander and were looking forward to a good night's sleep before our journey to UK.

We might have been spoiled by our first Parador hotel. It was an old castle and was amazing. This one, being our second, would have allowed us a 15% discount on food. But I forgot to present the coupon as I walked in to the restaurant, so “NO DISCOUNT FOR YOU!!”” Thought that if I talked to the front desk before we finished breakfast that they would honor the discount. Nope. Not a huge deal but lacks customer service.

A Proper Hotel

An absolute joy, after a long drive, to see the lights, and elegant columns, of this hotel along the dark, stone pine-flanked road. Those who whinge that it should be 'modernised' have no soul - this is a proper hotel, with plush carpets, antique furniture and staff who waft you to your room without fuss. The marbled bathrooms alone are as big as some 4star rooms ...
I now go out of my way to ensure I stay here enroute to-or-from Portugal, and leave the nay sayers to their taupe, grey and chrome cookie cutter hostelries. So there.

Nice but not what we hoped for

We chose this hotel as it looked like a short walk into the town. It wa actually nearer 40 minutes on a road without no pavement or lighting in places. We also wanted to use the pool but it was out of order. We knew that we had single beds to push together but the mattresses didn’t join as the beds were in a wooden frame. So much for our luxury romantic last night in Spain.

Superb All Round - Definitely a Keeper

Highly recommend - staff go above and beyond the call of duty to help. Our standard twin room was more like a mini suite, with acres of space, premium quality upholstery and vintage furniture, plus a beautiful marble-fitted bathroom. Obviously built when things were done properly, this imposing building is situated on a quiet road on the edge of historic Tordesillas, flanked by mature native trees. Basically, you just have to look at it to know it's going to excellent. And easy to find from the A-62 - I will definitely be returning.

The bar food is a bit limited - albeit ok. We were woken at 4.00 am in the morning by a rowdy crowd in the corridor/next room. This cannot be down to the hotel but if people are coming in late the reception could remind them to respect others as they return to their rooms. Spoiled our stay a bit - but we will return

Room was excellent - comfortable and spacious.Spotlessly clean warm bathroom and bedroom temperature just right.
Minibar did not have spirits only water,beer and soft drinks.
Did not eat as arrived late and departed early but have now stayed five times and would recommend it to anybody.
Restaurant on previous stays was average.
We will stay here in the future .

Booked non smoking room but given a smoking room. Only one upright chair - therefore people could not read in comfort. No comfortable chairs in the room to sit on.Room extremelly small and we paid premium price for this. We do not have objections to paying but not for a room of this size. Paradors are normally excellent but we would not reccommend this one. So sorry we chose it.Car park extremely busy and full. Difficult to find a place and cars parked on yellow lines and where cars were not meant to be parked

A delightful retreat

We elected to overnight in Tordesillas on our way from Santiago de Compostela to Madrid in order to have a brief rest.

It turned out to be a lovely stay. The parador is pretty, the room was spacious, the setting on a lake was romantic. Overall, the parador is a wonderful treat.

Could be nicer for a 4-star hotel

We stayed in this hotel before attending a wedding. We were very surprised to find that there was nothing to iron our clothes in the room, so we went to reception to ask for one. Having spoken with the reception staff we were surprised and disappointed to find the hotel does not provide its guests anything for ironing in the room, and we'd have to order this via the laundry service. My boyfriend handed his shirt and linen suit to them, but the suit was not well ironed at all, and the trousers were still wrinkled... At the end they didn't charge for ironing of the suit, but the whole experience was disappointing.

Santander ferry within easy reach (Portsmouth) No complaints really. Staff efficient and helpful. Spanish timetable, so if you have dinner here, 21.00 is early. Good base to explore a very interesting area of Spain (like it used to be).
