Had a really good stay here! The pictures online do no justice. Great location - amazing Mountain View’s from the room and dining spaces (better than in Hakuba), Very clean, amazing staff, good food! No regrets. They actually exceeded my expectations here! Would definitely return

Title: Misleading “Private Onsen” Listing – Not What Was Advertised
We booked this property specifically because it was advertised on Hotels.com as having a “private onsen,” and we paid a premium price under the belief that the onsen would be attached to our room and available for our private use 24/7.

The listing showed beautiful photos of what appeared to be an outdoor private onsen and mentioned that a bathing fee would be charged per night (though it did not disclose the cost). Based on this description and imagery, it was reasonable to believe we were booking a room with a private, in-room onsen experience.
However, upon arrival, we learned there was no onsen attached to our room at all. The “private onsen” is actually a small indoor bathing room available to any hotel guest for 1,500 yen per use. Although it is ‘clean’ it looks NOTHING like any photo we saw, it had a musty feel to it and it must be reserved in advance, and time slots may not be available at the requested time.

We essentially paid an exclusive rate for an amenity that was neither exclusive nor as portrayed. The experience did not match the advertising, and that was extremely disappointing.

We contacted hotels.com immediately the first night we stayed there through their customer support chat, and the lady was incredibly unhelpful/rude and did not understand the issue. She even tried to gaslight us into believing the 1500 yen per onsen trip was just the bathing tax they specified on their website. It

Everything and everyone were leaps and bounds above expectations. The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. The onsens were beyond par. The perfect complement when snowboarding Hakuba all day. It was an incredibly relaxing experience when coming back to our room. The amenities at this hotel were fantastic and our room incredibly spacious and relaxing. I would definitely stay here again.

The room was very large, the hotel overall was very new. Great balance between catering for children and adults. The restaurant was very modern and spacious with a great view of the forest. The dinner and breakfast had a great range of really good food. The onsen was modern and the view from the outside onsen of the forest was very relaxing.

The staff were very responsive and friendly. The hotel was also very warm and inviting - they lit the fireplace on some nights and there were fun amenities in the lobby like hammocks and a foosball table. My 9 year old daughter loved the kid's club and was there before dinner everyday. My husband and I also loved the gym - it was very clean and well equipped. The onsen was also wonderful, especially the outdoor section. The breakfast buffet selection was very wide and we needed a couple of days to finish discovering all the dishes. Parking was free and very convenient - we were able to park very close to the lobby. The room was spacious and had a huge powder room and a very clean shower and bath area. Housekeeping was very good at making sure we were well supplied with drip coffee and bottled water everyday. The only small downside was the distance between the hotel and the closest town. Thankfully we drove, so it wasn't difficult to get in and out. The surrounding area is beautiful and we would love to visit again not just for the hotel, but also for the scenic spots!

We staid one week at the Holiday Inn in Omachi. The Hotel is closely located to the transportation system to Murodo if you are interested for mountain hikes up to or around Mt. Tateyama. We felt very comfortable staying at the hotel enjoying the Onsen and our spacious quiet room. The buffet dinner had good selections changing every other night. The hotel is centrally located if you like to go to Hakuba or Matsumoto.

Amazing 1 night stay

Amazing hotel with very polite and helpful staff. Special mention to Susumu-san who helped us so much with an unexpected incident with our rental car. Room is very clean and comfortable. Would stay again if visiting the area again.

The staff were very friendly and professional. Rooms and communal spaces were clean. It wasn't busy when we were there so it felt cozy. I liked being able to open the window and get fresh air. Not quite as nice as the pictures, kind of low end furnishings, but still put together well. Very much a 3 star hotel in that sense.

This is a lovely new hotel, very helpful friendly staff and one of the very best Onsens we’ve experienced in Japan (this is my third trip). Really fantastic- new, clean, three pools- outstanding. The hotel is 35 minutes S of Hakuba by car and an hour by shuttle bus, and the shuttle only runs to and from once per day so without a car you don’t have many options. Omachi, the nearest town is a fairly long walk. Recommend having a rental car if you stay here.

The hotel was lovely and the area was gorgeous. The breakfast buffet was good, however the dinner menu was limited...maybe because it was over the New Years holiday. Not close enough to Omachi City to be walkable to other restaurants. We will definitely stay again in the spring, as it is also on a golf course.

I’d rather be closer to the action

Went in peak skiing season, felt like a ghost town and no vibe. Daily shuttle service was only one time per day and came back too late. Rooms are just average. Staff only speak when they’re spoken to, polite but not really informative. Food was the worst we’ve had in Japan. Once you’re at the hotel, you’re stuck! Unless you have a car I wouldn’t recommend staying here. If you have a car… and can be bothered driving 40 mins each way to eat after a day of skiing… then maybe

While this hotel has shuttle buses to the ski fields it is quite some distance and not ideal.
Bought breakfast and dinner package- for four days it is monotonous and not great. Really think they could do better with their food offering

Wonderful hotel close to the entrance to the alpine route.
Rooms are beautifully appointed. Beds are very comfortable and have soft and hard pillows available on the bed.
Onsen is clean and offers both indoor and outdoor option.
Customer service is excellent. Front desk is efficient , courteous and helpful.
Food at restaurant is excellent. Buffet has many Japanese and western options. They are very good at addressing allergies and food presences. Highly recommend to add to your booking the evening and the breakfast buffet ( it’s is not only delicious but also much cheaper than adding at hotel).

Luxurious resort with a wide variety of amenities and very convenient to travel to Ogizawa station for onward trip. It would be even more ideal if the vending machines have an assortment of snacks to choose from (currently only drinks).

I had an enjoyable time in my hotel stay there. The room was beautifully renovated and clean. Nice view from the room, easy free outdoor parking, the best part is the breakfast buffet, 1 computer access for work, foosball table, huge playroom for kids, nice onsen (they tax 300 yen per night per room regardless of usage) with fantastic outdoor view, there is indoor and private onsen too (need pre-booking), hotel staff was polite and friendly. 3 ski resorts nearby, 1 hour drive from Nagano Station. The room size was comfortable with spaces for me and my roommate to open both luggage’s thruout the day. I would return to stay there again!

Two sides to this hotel…

On the one side, lovely hotel in a beautiful location with a few helpful staff. Rooms are very well appointed.
On the other side, the food in the restaurant is overpriced and the portions are ridiculously small.
We ordered the French onion soup which was very salty and only consisted of three spoonfuls. When I brought this to the manager’s attention he seemed to find it funny and did nothing about it.
One gets the feeling of being ripped off at this hotel as they have you as a captive customer far from any other restaurants.

Very positive and comfortable stay at the hotel. The staff were very responsive and good attention to detail.
The hotel was very comfortable and well maintained. My family and I rated it having the best onsen among the other places we stayed in Japan (including Hakone!)
The restaurant had a good spread.

Great stay at Holiday Inn Resort Kuroyon

Enjoyed our stay at Holiday Inn Resort Kuroyon. The management has been changed and they have renovated it into a totally new upgraded hotel. The lane swimming pool is available for free for the hotel guests and it is connected to indoor & outdoor public bathes. How refreshing to take a dip to a hot bath after swimming. Staff are friendly and the facilities are all new and clean. Although there are one restaurant and a cafe available, but they serve a great buffet and a variety of a la carte. Will come back again soon.

A banheira do primeiro quarto que ficamos vazou água para o banheiro inteiro. Tive que ficar uma hora na recepção tentando resolver o problema e pedir uma troca de quarto, pois os funcionários não falam nem entendem bem inglês. Além disso, não havia quarto do mesmo tipo disponível e queriam que eu pagasse a mais para ir para outro quarto, por um erro do hotel. O problema foi resolvido, mas depois de perder precioso tempo de descanso. Além disso, cobram por tudo. Pedi um hambúrguer e pedi mais ketchup e queriam cobrar 100 ienes por uma micharia de ketchup. O uso do Onsen é pago, 300 ienes por dia, mas só avisam no final. O café da manhã é bom, mas nada excepcional comparado com outros hotéis que ficamos no Japão. Estava com altas expectativas para esse hotel e saí frustrado. O único ponto realmente positivo são os shuttles gratuitos para Hakuba e para a estação de Shinano-Omachi.
