I liked this place. It was very clean and quiet. I think probably a lot of people working in the area stay there. It was well-maintained and businesslike. I wasn't looking for a party place - I got a good night's sleep there, which I needed, and the price was very reasonable.

The rooms were very clean, and the staff was friendly. Checking in and checking out was easy.
It was hard to fall asleep when we could hear people snoring and talking behind walls. Someone was watching TV at 6 a.m., which woke us up. It was as if the walls didn't exist. The same goes for the smell. Without ventilation, smells traveled from room to room. Every time we entered the room, it smelled horrible despite its cleanliness.

Very happy the room was clean. Property needs TLC badly. Website shows this great breakfast available to us which is one of the reasons I chose this place and NOTHING was available to us. The Breakfast room is closed and the inroom coffee was terrible. A partial refund would be nice as the add is not what was delivered to us.

While this hotel might appear from the road as rundown place, it deserves a second look! Excellent amenities, clean, easy check-in and very safe. Plenty of parking space and conveniently located. I was pleasantly surprised with the room! Much larger and cleaner than some nice hotels I've stayed at. Will definitely return on my next trip.

We have stayed at this hotel previously and have no issues. The room was comfortable and the staff was pleasant. The only problem we had this weekend was the price gauging due to the weekend. There was no reason to more than double the room price. That was taking advantage of the clients. That shows a lack of integrity and greed is more important then your clients.

At first i was skeptical about going because they messed up my reservation which was for 2 beds as there were 2 of us in town for a tournament. Instead of what i booked they called and said they only had a 1 bed room available. They said they could get me a cot and because they called me the night before i was leaving i had no choice but to take iin order to make sure we had a place to stay. I was very surprised to see the room was very spacious and comfortable. We are already planning on staying here next year for the event.

Two words: Overpriced and Smoke (both weed and cigarettes).
Our room had no security chain for the door, a broken bed pedestal (so if you sat on the end the whole bed tilted), a heater in the bathroom that was stuck ON, and a towel rack that was half out of the wall with no bar to hang towels on.
We were greeted as we went to our room with a car in the parking lot that was filled with pot smoke, and a guest splayed out near the entrance to the door smoking like a chimney.
We payed $120 plus $50 for our dogs for one night, and this is what we got?
Econolodge should raze this property and start all over again.
I would think twice about ever staying in an Econolodge again.

You will regret staying here. Worst ive ever seen.

The stay started with the desk agent charging me for my stay. The issue was i had already paid on hotels.com. she then told me she didnt know how to process a refund and would have to call the owner. She also told me i paid way more than the going rate online. After getting this resolved i attempted to go to my room but the keys didn't work on the exterior door. The desk agent who was smoking a cigarette andnsaw this let us in the door and walked us to our room through disgustingly dirty hallways to ensure our keys worked, which they did. Apon entering the room we found mold in the shower and aroun the bathroom sink. Stains which appeared to be semen on the chair, red stains and pubic hairs on the bed and an overly rundown room. When the desk agent came back to the room to provide a copy of the refund slip of the double charge i informed her of this and showed her the filth. She informed me they would not refund the room and had no other rooms available but did kindly provide me a single sheet to cover the semen stains on the chair. After trying unsuccessful to find another place to stay and not wanting to force a 6 year old to sleep in a small car, i stripped the bed and covered it it my jackets and seemingly clean towels and went to bed.

The stairwells were dark and dirty with paint splattered all over the carpet. The outside was of the building was dirty and poorly maintained with crumbling foundation at the entrance.

The hotel located on the edge of Massena, 5 min to town. The hotel gave me just what I was looking for, I was in town for 2 days, and the accommodations were what I needed, the front desk gentleman gave me lots of information and directions. I’ll be staying there again.

The hotel is o.k. the rooms are big and very clean. The staff is very friendly. However, the hotel is very isolated. There are no near dining options on the premise or even within walking. A 10 min drive min. The hotel had no water in the mini fridge or vending machines either. There is no elevator only stairs in the 2 story building. The beds are comfy the rooms are big. Overall, o.k. for short trips.

We stayed here to be close to a graduation in Potsdam about 25 min away. The hotel itself is isolated and there are no options for food except a vending machine. There is no water in the soda machine either.The room was big 2 queen beds a decent size bathroom it isnt that the property is dirty, it run down and needs attention. The staff is very friendly and attentive by the property is very dated. Comfy beds though.

First they hyped their room fee to $205 a night due to a college graduation. Secondly when we got to our room it smelled awful. When we went into the bathroom we found that the toilet had been used and was never flushed! Complained to the front desk and wasn’t offered any portion of a refund. Then the breaker kept tripping in the bathroom so the lights wouldn’t turn on. I will never stay at another Econo Lodge again.

Worst possible stay ever in all my life

Worst stay I could have had. I had an agreement with the front desk that I’d be paying every night for the nights I stayed, because of how my work schedule was. When I check in that was fine. Well the second night it was ok, but they had a bit of an attitude. The third night they refused to let me stay, after I had paid for the room. They have refused to refund me based on them not getting paid before 11am, when I didn’t check in until 11 that night. They wanted me to pay days ahead of time after I had an agreement with them. There’s no way I’d ever stay here again. Not only was the front desk very rude the rooms stunk, the towels were dirty, and the microwave didn’t work. Told the front desk about the microwave and they didn’t care. Said they’d fix it but never did.

I've never felt discrimination in my life until I booked a room for two nights at the Econo lodge in Massena. I booked my stay about a week before with the option to pay at the desk and when it was 3 days before my trip i booked again and payed without realizing that I had already booked it. When I saw the email reminding me of it i called the hotel to cancel the first one a lady named NB answered and was outraged that i wanted to cancel the first booking. She said \" am gonna cancel both of them because you people already do this \" i asked her what she meant but she wouldn't listen to whatever i had to say and insisted she's gonna cancel my stay there. I had to call Hotels.com and spoke to someone and he was able to get her to keep the reservation that I had already paid for and not charge me a cancelation fee. I will never stay at the Econo lodge in Massena again for their customer service skills are the worst that I've ever come across.

My only issue was the website clearly stated breakfast available, upon entering lobby there is a small sign stating that it’s not. When I asked the gentleman behind the counter about the conflict he said “well there’s a sign right there”

Absolutely disgusting.. Came in late on Oct 9th, last minute booking because nothing else was available.. So I will start with the Loud flies in the room, an infestation of Lady Bugs, 1 or 2 okay, But it was 9 and I stopped counting, and the spiders crawling all over the bathroom and they were aware of this when I complained, so obviously they do nothing to correct. Couldn't tell you what was under the sheets cause I threw my own blanket down on the old hard mattresses to sleep, because I had 2 children with me or I would have slept in my car. Stains on the carpets, water stains on the ceiling.Blood stained pillows, Dirty Towels, !/2 used bottles of lotion and Shampoo, Tissue box with 2 Tissues so they re-use what was left from previous guest.. So not COVID SAFE. And I was lucky to get the previous guest underwear that was left on the floor in an area that if you vacuumed they would have saw it. Broken Microwave was the only thing they corrected and brought another and that is when I gave him the bloody pillow dirty towels and underwear.. and was not given back a pillow and towels in place of them. I asked for a !/2 0f refund which was even too mush to pay but I did stay because I had no where else to go, Its camping in doors. They didn;t do anything and neither did Expedia.. I have photos and videos that I will post on other review sights..Expedia doesnt give you that option.. DO NOT STAY HERE...Stay at Super 8 in Massena, So clean and comfortable.

I did not like the customer service. You could not get an answer on the phone when you called the office. Kids were constantly kicking balls in the hall. The milk was sour at the breakfast.These people have to learn to use discretion.They did not want to release the name of the owner. They did not know where the owner was located. I will not be recommending this motel to any of my friends.

Requested a handicapped accessible room. The bathroom had very limited accesibility. The grab bars around the toilet were positioned in such a way that they were very difficult to use. Would not recommend this hotel for anyone with limited mobility. will not stay here again.
