If you need a central \"hub\" in Takasaki, this hotel and spot really can't be beat. Be aware that they charge for 'everything' including late checkout at 2pm for an additional ¥2,000! Other than the nickel-and-dime approach, it still is a very nice place to stay.

Well recommended.

Very convenient with lots of shops and restaurants. It is located just beside Takasaki train station. The room in this hotel is much spaces compared to those I had stayed near Takasaki station.

Property was close to everything. Right in the station, short walk to many places to eat and shop. Some great stores right there to get anything we needed and some big chains to buy clothing and stuff. The room was very nice, small, but nicely appointed, everything was clean and modern. Staff always greeted us whenever we met them, from the people making up the rooms to the front desk people. The breakfast was really good also. Very quiet inside, despite being right beside the train station. Totally would stay here again!

A good hotel, very conveniently located on top of the train station. Clean, spacious, and good customer service. Beds comfortable and rooms quiet.
A little dated, but well maintained and they were generous with toiletries. Breakfast was OK.

The property was fine. Very clean and modern. However buyer beware: there is no free parking even though it was advertised on Expedia as such. I contacted Expedia to complain, but of course they did not accept responsibility for false advertising. This is the last booking I’ll make through this wretched app.

I stay in Takasaki about 6 times per year on business. Metropolitan is my preferred hotel by far. It is IN the train station. That means easy shinkansen ride into Tokyo, and restaurants/shops a few meters from the hotel; a nice bonus in bad weather or when you are really tired. Very clean, but a little dated. Decent Japanese style breakfast with a few Western options.

Great Location

Great location in Takasaki Station makes eating and shopping very convenient. There is even a Starbucks nearby. The room was well appointed and immaculate.

Thumbs Up for Hotel Metropolitan Takasaki

Stayed 3 nights while in Takasaki for a wedding. Good sized room. Shower over bath could be a problem for those with mobility issues. Great shower pressure. Polite staff. Great service - asked for an iron & ironing board and it was delivered to the room within minutes! Only negative would be that the mattress was a little hard for our liking. Hotel is part of the Takasaki railway complex, but we heard no rail noise, except for a steam train that went past twice on the Sunday. Lots of eateries and shopping within the railway complex, so right on the doorstep.

a clean convenient hotel. no bells or whistles. basic asian buffet breakfast. small but clean rooms and bathroom. good amenities. fridge, but you have to stock it yourself. quiet. main draw is convenience and price. cant beat access to train station, restaurants in on-site mall as well as walking distance.

An excellent hotel, would stay again here on our next visit, ideal location centre of the city,over the train station (you don't hear the trains) with ease of access to public transport, trains buses etc. the hotel was excellent, breakfast looked good but mainly suitable for Japanese palate, twin room was on the small side with each bed against the wall otherwise very clean and comfortable. hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful at all times. One very nice feature was the room handy (mobile phone with free local calls and some countries and free wifi) this was available to take with you on your travels.

Best hotel in central Takasaki

We're often in Takasaki for business, hotel metropolitan is our preferred accommodation. The rooms are a reasonable size by Japanese standards and the service is consistently good.

Very convenient hotel with helpful staff.

This hotel is suitable for 'business' trips. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a decent size for a Japanese hotel. Amenities were good. The hotel allowed me to store my luggage there the day before I checked in, which allowed me to avoid having to 'haul' my heavy luggage to another hotel I was booked into the day before.

Beautiful hotel near downtown train station

The hotel is located directly adjacent to the Takasaki train station. Very convenient. There is a very nice indoor shopping mall, as well as a variety of food and coffee shops. All located in the same building as the hotel.
The hotel staff was excellent. Extremely courteous and helpful. The room was very nice with a great view of the city.

기차역과 연결된 쇼핑몰에서 식사를 대부분 해결했습니다.

部屋が暑くて眠れない

部屋の温度が暑く、眠れませんでした。また、大変のどが渇きました。空調は部屋のパネルで温度設定ができますが、低くしても温度は下がらず、電源を切っても変わりませんでした。おそらくホテル全体でコントロールしているのだと思いますが、温度設定をきちんと考えた方が良いと思います。

あと朝食ですが、全体的に簡素で、写真にあるようなスモークサーモンもありません。パンに合わせてチーズもなく、メトロポリタンということで期待していたので残念でした。また、全体的に味付けがしょっぱいです。

駅に直結した立地で、列車旅利用では申し分ない。モントレーと同一建屋であり、駅周辺にもSCがある上に、これらが閉店してしまっても近所にコンビニがあるので、食事にも買物にも不自由しない。
入口はモントレー3Fにあるエレベーターで上がるので若干わかりにくい場所ではあるが、ホテルまでの案内が充実しているので迷うことは無い。
フロントの対応も澱みがなく、チェックインはスムーズである。カードキーと一緒に除菌ウェットティッシュを頂けるのも素晴らしい。こういうちょっとしたことをさり気なく対応してくれるホテルはあまり見ない。
ユニットバスのバスタブは一見すると広めに見えるのだが、幅が狭いので体を洗うには窮屈に感じる。また、バスタブの底にはエンボスが切ってあるが、ほとんど削れているので滑って転倒するリスクがある。シャワーの水圧が低い気もするが、体を洗うには十分である。
部屋は広くて快適である。部屋の一角にミニテーブルとゆったり座れるチェアがあるので、デスクだけがあるホテルと比べると、室内でかなり落ち着いた時間を過ごすことができる。
残念ながら、デスクにあるライトは少々暗いのでもうちょっと明るいモノが欲しいところ。また、イオン側の部屋にアサインされると、部屋から見える景色はイオンの壁だけという最悪の眺望となる。
このバスタブと眺望の悪さのため、星は一つ減らした。
細かい気配りがあり、群馬観光の拠点や、新潟・長野方面への中継基地として、大変快適で使い勝手の良いホテルだ。
