The room that I stayed in. It smells musty, when I came in, I noticed that they had a bag that would absorb moisture. So they knew of the problem. There was a sign that said that breakfast was served from six o'clock until nine thirty.I went to go and make myself a waffle about a quarter to 9 and and couldn't get any batter coming out. I asked the gentleman and he said that quit putting food out at 830 which I felt was pretty sad. Although he did get me enough batter to make myself a Waffle. When I checked in, the staff was very nice. And when I checked out, the same staff was very nice on the way out.
Jennifer
The room was very clean and smelled nice. Staff was kind and accommodating. We were traveling with our dog and they loved her. We have stayed here a number of times during travel and it is a favorite for us.

sheets had sticky red stuff on them... :(

There was a weird sweet smell in the room that was very strong, not a pleasant smell like maple or something, just chemically sweet. I tried leaving the window open all day when I was out, but it never dissipated. The mirror in my room wasn't even secured on the top, so it wobbled if I touched it; I was worried it would fall down on me. And when I took a shower in the morning, the shower head literally fell off when I turned the water on. And both nights I was there, my keycard wouldn't open my door, so they needed to reprogram it. The staff was very nice, and had no problem reprogramming the key, but it still was inconvenient to need to have it happen both days I was there.

Staff was helpful but rooms could be better

The room was clean and comfortable enough for the price I paid. The staff at check in were friendly and helpful. However, I was not happy in the morning to find nothing to eat but waffles. When I asked about food I was told that they ran out and wouldn't be making any more. I came down with more than an hour left in their breakfast time too. They didn't even have fruit, bread, bagels, yogurt, oatmeal or water. Pretty upset about that. They could definitely improve on that.
Heidi

Black mold on the ceiling and tiles in the bathroom. Non-working toilet. At least the staff was able to move us to a different room, but there shouldn't have been a room in that condition in the first place
Eric
Good value.
Heidi
Staff was very friendly. Great breakfast. Quiet and comfortable. I got a lot of work done. Only complaint was that one of the lamps in the room did not work. Other than that great stay!

La recepción , el personal del lobby fue muy grosero.
David
Stay was horrible service was horrible reservation was all a mess as well. I want my stay refunded as I will not come back
Stephen
Key card didn't work and staff didn't check to verify that it worked after having to let me into the room initially, so it happened again late at night when I came back and had to wait forever to get into my room again.
Alfred
The staff was rude.
Cindy
Wanted to find a place we could keep coming back to as our daughter will be living in the area. The guy that checked me in unbelievable rude!! We were trying to find the place, sign not lit, on a side road. Wifi was not working. He seen me walk in, running copies off I waited thinking he was doing our paperwork, 2 min later I said hi and holy buckets got the 3rd degree. I wanted to leave but it was late, long drive, had a trailer no room for them at this place. I will not be doing my business here again.

I’ve used this hotel a lot in 2025. Very convenient.
Renae
Im not sure if Ive ever stayed at such a bad hotel. This was the chair in my room. The light at the sink outside the bathroom didn't work so I was in the dark doing my hair and makeup the next morning and I found hairs on the sheet and pillow that werent mine before I got into the bed. I went downstairs to talk to front desk and nobody was there, nor was anyone there when I came downstairs in the morning. I requested a refund from hotel.com an hour after I checked in. I and haven't back.

Best price in area. Older property, but room was clean. Carpet older and worn and wrinkleing up.

I mistakenly reserved for Sunday rather than Saturday… and the desk clerk was was totally uncooperative… told me because I reserved with 3rd party they would do nothing… he then left the registration desk and office … leaving me standing there… I moved on!!!
ricky
Couldn’t find staff to assist with issues!
Chad
Nice staff, not-so-nice room.
The room had a really bad smell to it. That was very bothersome to me. I’m assuming it was a smoking room in the past and they tried to cover up the odor, but they didn’t do a good enough job. The shower faucet did not turn on very easily either.
Rosann
No stay hotel
The room was humid and hard to sleep in even with the air on, the tv cables were loose and kept messing up even when tightened, there was an odd bag hanging on the wall with gross water in it..like a dehumidifer bag. The service manager was unfriendly and kept telling us not to touch anything. He wouldn't provide a checkout receipt. Continental breakfast was very limited.
Russsell
Quick check in, clean and very good value.
Jeni
Decent for the price
The hotel was clean, the bed wasn't very comfortable, but for the price I got what I needed which was a room for the night.
Timothy

Overall good stay, will plan another stay
All was great with the room except the sink. I went to wash my hands and didn't notice until it was too late that the stopper was down, and the lever didnt actuateit to move up.

I left my medication in the refrigerator in our room. We remembered 4 hours after leaving. The manager kept it for me in the refrigerator and was very helpful in getting it back. We so appreciated his concern and kindness.

Staff rudeness
I got the room for my boys as their sister was getting married. Upon their arrival the owner chewed them out cuz I had put the reservation under name on my card, LH. He griped cuz he said couldn’t enter it into his computer and then complained about the dog as they had their dog. Told my sons to bring cash down in the morning. That’s all something that should have been addressed with me, the person who made the reservation.
Susan
The first room we were given smelled of cat urine, which was horrible. The desk clerk argued that there was never a cat in the room and then came into the room to see for himself. He then moved us to another room, in which dirty towels had been left behind the bathroom door on a hook. The air worked great, the beds were comfortable, but would definitely not recommend the facility.
Sabine
I very much enjoyed my night. Of course, the hotel was a bit outdated, but it was quiet, clean, very affordable and the bed was super comfortable. I'd definitely recommended and come again.
Ian
Extremely friendly people Nash at the front desk was awesome
jerry
room was clean and quiet
Christine
It was nice that even though it was a Friday night~it was still quiet. I had a great night sleep.
Derek
Found leftovers in the fridge and dirty socks under the edge of the bed, all public area garbages were overflowing all weekend. Moisture issues in room.
John
Meh
The hotel is dated and rundown. It is desperate need of a remodel. Our room smelled moldy and the breakfast was limited and all-in-all non-existent.
Douglas
Property was in poor condition.
Katherine
Within walking distance of a decent breakfast at the Hy-Vee dinette
Cha
Manager was not on duty to best help me with an error on our stay. Expedia and manager's worker tried to get in contact with them but did not contact us back. Took forever to contact me in discussing how we could best fix the issue. Lost money and future money from me. We come a lot into town and can definitely go elsewhere. Go else where !!!
Angela
My room smelled mildewy, the deadbolt would not turn, and the breakfast was a joke. There was some dry cereal, a waffle iron, and what looked like stale bread. There was a bag of Damp-rid hanging in my closet area to and it looked like it needed changing. There were dehumidifiers in the hallway. I didn't like the fact that the light switch when you first entered didn't turn anything on.
The bed was comfortable. The clerk was friendly.

The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful! The hotel is older and there was a problem with their truck so breakfast was limited. For the price this was an excellent choice.
Lloyd
Very impressed
I stayed here many years ago and the place was run down dirty and not very friendly staff time. And now I was very impressed with the staff. They are very polite. Acknowledge you when you walk by and the room was excellent. Great improvement and great place in a better place than last time.

All good overall.
Excellent choice for the buck.
Michele
It was cheap and sheets were clean! Carpet wasn’t the cleanest so keep shoes on ! They had ally of moisture or water cuz they had humidifier’s running in hallways and those bags hanging in rooms to remove moisture! We rented 2 rooms and both were like that! Overall it wasn’t bad! They offer a small breakfast too!
Darrel
It was kind of hidden behind other buildings and a bit hard to find.

It is a good place to stay for my regular trips to Watertown. Clean room and reasonable price.
Johanna
Would stay here again! The staff was nice, and our room seemed well cleaned. Just a few downsides were our room had a very dusty smell when we first walked in, the window didn’t have a nob to open it, and there weren’t many channels on the Tv.
But nothing beats the great price!

I stayed at the Econo Lodge in late March 2025 for business. I checked in very late, but the front desk person had my check-in paper printed and ready. My room was clean and comfortable. The coffee and breakfast in this hotel is ready by 5:30. Probably the best value hotel in Watertown.

Continental bŕeakfast was not worth anything. You need to add more food. My granddaughter went down the first morning abd found a biscut with mold on the bottom . Coffee was horrible. I went to make some in our room and there was a huge piece of mold on the bottom . And the ice machine was broken m
