The location is perfect, the price is reasonable, the staff are friendly, and the breakfast is wonderful. The shower room had a minor drainage issue — it could probably be improved by cleaning the pipes. We had no other problems. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay in Trieste. If you’re planning to visit Trieste, I would highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is a gem. 5 minute walk from the central train station, 10 minure walk from the city center, and right across from the main bus stops. It's incredibly quiet and clean. The staff is kind, warm, and attentive. Our room was simple but incredibly clean, comfortable, and quiet. The bathroom needed some remodeling but it was not an issue for us since it was perfectly clean. The breakfast buffet was INCREDIBLE. Tea, coffee, cappuccino, hot chocolate AND cookies are available to the guests in the dining room 24 hours a day at no additional cost. After we checked out at 11am, they kept our luggages for free in the office until 3:30pm, so we could walk around the city without worrying about carrying them around. Best choice ever!

DONT STAY HERE

Do not stay at this hotel. It was the worst hotel me and my husband have ever stayed at. Check in was at 3:00 and by 4:00 we already checked out. The AC wasn’t working, the walls were dirty (it felt like a prison cell) also the bathrooms had mold growing from the ceiling. Save your money and don’t stay here!!

This is a beautiful,old hotel. While it is suffering from a little wear and tear it is still a nice place to stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent with a great selection. The area outside the hotel is loud and a bit run down but still safe and only a short walk from key attractions. Despite the noise outside, inside the hotel was quiet and we never heard any street noises in our room.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Alberga Alla Posta.

The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean and quite well equipped. My only quibble was that the Sky TV connection was not working, although since I wasn't that bothered I didn't complain! Also for some the variety at breakfast was fairly narrow. The only eggs were hardboiled for example. But nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

This is a wonderful place to stay. It is conveniently close to transportation options while still being walkable to the town's waterfront.
The staff at this property were very kind and helpful. I left early in the morning and was given a breakfast bag for my travels. The breakfast buffet was tasty.
Take the no. 6 bus north to the Miramare castle and swimming waterfront options.

Kind and helpful staff; most spoke very good English. Our double room with private shower was very clean and had high ceilings with large windows that opened. A/C also worked well. The bedding was firm with extra blankets and pillows in the closet. There were enough large towels for us.

A complimentary coffee, tea, cappuccino station was available all day in the breakfast room next to the 24-hour lobby desk. Breakfast options included boiled eggs in shell, meat, cheese, yogurt and toppings, assorted croissants and breads, gluten free packaged snacks, canned fruits, fresh apples, juice, and a toaster was available. Everything we tried was tasty and fresh.

This hotel is in an older, well-maintained, elegant building in a busy urban area, very close to pedestrian plazas with many cafés and bars, a supermarket, a pharmacy, etc. My husband and I felt very safe in the area.

We walked 10-15 minutes from the train station and 10-15 to cruise port 29. Both walks were on level stone-paved sidewalks. There's a tiny elevator for 2 people with luggage but you must walk up a half flight of stairs to access it. Overall, we highly recommend as a good value, pleasant, quality stay.

Safe and great location within the center, just about 8mins walk to Central Train and Bus Stations. 24-Hr reception with free Coffee/Tea at Dining Area. Clean and Comportable room size. Free BF with loads to choose however the fresh pastries caught my attention. High customer service from reception to kitchen staffs - Victoria, Pele, Ester and another lady from kitchen. High salute to Silvia and Marco both from reception, super helpful with queries and directions...extending efforts to fulfill your needs. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay back if given a chance.

It is an older hotel but the rooms are spacious, well appointed, spotlessly clean and with very comfortable beds. The breakfast is excellent.

A couple of improvements I would suggest. There was a window above the sink and no mirror. When shaving I had to turn 180 degrees and use the mirror above the toilet. Also, the lights in the room are only on when the key card is inserted in the slot just inside the door. There appears to be no way of turning lights on and off independently so at bedtime, you have to remove the card from the slot and all the lights go out. In the night, if you want to turn on a light, you have to insert the card and all the lights come on.

Lovely Stay in the Heart of Trieste: Great Breakfa

We had a really pleasant stay at this hotel, located right in the heart of the historic center, full of charm and character. The breakfast was definitely a highlight: rich, varied, and able to satisfy every palate, with a wide selection of fresh and delicious options.

The staff was extremely courteous and always available, making us feel truly at home. A detail we particularly appreciated was the wonderful scent of the shower gel provided in the room – it was delightful!

The only downside of our stay was that the room cleaning could have been more thorough. Additionally, there was no shower screen, which unfortunately caused water to spill out while showering.

Overall, though, we had a great experience and wouldn't hesitate to return for another visit. And of course, Trieste is a special city that added even more to our stay!

The breakfasts offered many options - cereal, cold cuts (delicious cheese), yogurt, fruits and at least 4 different types of croissants every morning. The staff was helpful - offering a breakfast beverage upon our arriving in the breakfast room...and even remembering me throughout my stay!
The staff also made a reservation for a taxi to the airport for our day of departure, and offered to pack some food items for us as we had to leave before breakfast hours began.

The hotel is in an excellent location but it is tired looking inside. One small old elevator. Shower tile was moldy and the heated towel rack did not work so the towels were damp. No carpeting in the rooms so you could hear people walking around in the room above.
