The resort is a thoroughfare for Mua Caves access and although the grounds are kept beautifully, the attention to detail does not carry forward into to the rooms.
This place is great if you are wanting early access to mua cave before it becomes crowded. It also has great spaces for photos and looks very pretty with all the lanterns at night.
Our bed was two single beds pushed together creating a hard middle where they met and uncomfortable sleep for my partner and I
The tile grout repairs had been carelessly completed with all doors not shutting properly and unable to lock unless forcibly.
We booked a 90 minute spa and hair wash the next day. Again all rooms have tired decor and poor / average quality repairs but were clean. The sauna, steam room and bath felt good but were interrupted by hearing staff TV and phones playing programmes. During the massage they talked amongst themselves, had their phones on and did not create a relaxing environment for us. The massage was rough although advertised as relaxing - caused bad brusing that came out the next day. I would not recommend the spa services.
The breakfast tastes good although was hard to get staff assistance as most were on their phones.

What an exceptional setting. The beauty of the surroundings certainly made our stay. Loved the outdoor bathroom set into the cliff face. Staff efficient, friendly and met all our needs. Breakfast was enormous and so much variety. Recommend staying here.

Surprisingly, we were the only couple at their hotel during peak lotus bloom season. The restaurants, bars and shops were empty at night. They planned to be lively at night, but no one was there during our stays. The price of this hotel is quite high when comparing to the price of other hotels in the area.

The property used false photographs to portray itself. In reality, there was nothing "eco" in the lodge: it was in the middle of a very busy tourist spot, and literally, hundreds of people were traipsing thru the property throughout the day. The property's multiple restaurants played very loud music or screamed karaoke so you got headacke just being in the room, with doors and windows closed. Parking was another nightmare since there were dozens of busses and other cars trying to fit into a tiny parking lot. The area, while potentially beautiful, was poorly maintained. The rooms were half the size as they appeared in the photo - one person could barely walk without hitting the furniture. Despite large windows, we had to keep curtains closed because the lodges were set very close to busy pathways full of loud tourists

The hotel's selling point is obviously the access to the caves and dragon mountain any time you want. It's not so pleasant however if you go during a big Vietnamese holiday. Local tourists and students trash the area and even attempted to come into our room. If it's low season, it should be tranquil. Having said that, the rooms aren't the cleanest even if housekeeping tried. It's a matter of updating. We were advised to slam the door shut for locking as the only way. The restaurant on site served dishes that tasted like a balloon. The dishes they advertised such as the set wasn't available, and neither was the simple pho bo. They were the more affordable ones as well, so go figure. It also gave us food poisoning which the manager never commented on. So we paid to get sick was his principle. No apologies. They sent breakfast on the go as a gesture but we gave those to the driver instead as they weren't food easily consumed in a car, and it's still food from their restaurant! About airport transfer - they only gave us the most expensive option and the prices changed when my husband and I called in turns to confirm. Later, we found a much cheaper option they had. 2 car changes turned out to be 3. The receptionist failed to pick up for a whole day too. From hindsight, this place is about the scenary, not the service. It doesn't look like management invested in the property anymore, not even on amenities. It's best to stay elsewhere with ethics, and buy the ticket

While the location is prime and beautiful the hotel is severely lacking. The staff was meh at best, but polite so no issues there. Like others have noted there is a lot of construction, but nothing finished so it appears to be a hot mess. We skipped eating at the hotel from reading reviews prior to our arrival and ate at the first restaurant on our left as you come in from the main road called (.... something on the lake). It was good so eat there. Our room was small but not horrid and you can hear everything your neighbors say if you stand in the bathroom which can be amusing and annoying. We liked the idea of FREE entrance to the main attraction but just pay the entrance fee and stay else where.

Mua Cave Ecolodge is a great place to stay if you want to relax and connect with nature. The area is beautiful and it was great to be able to access the dragon Mountain anytime without charge. There isn’t much restaurants or shops around since it stands on a remote area but you can easily get to Tam Coc downtown in about 5 min by motorbike.

You wont get a better location in Tam Coc - stunning area. Loads of tourist but its easy to see why, generally staff were friendly. The rooms do however need renovation and freshening up, as they are quite dated and aged. Apart from this, it was a nice relaxing stay.

The hotel is in nice and quite area away from all the crazy traffic. Beautiful country side with a 48 min hike to the temple and from hotel. Will totally come back again. Felt safe. Breakfast was delicious with lots of options to choice from.

Love the location, beautiful quiet setting

Spacious room, though a/c is not very strong enough for the summer heat. Breakfast is simple but decent. There's bike & motor bike rentals facility on site, which we use. Entrance to Mua Cave was included in room rate. It was a long very steep climb to the top in the scorching early morning sun, though the view was fantastic.

Amazing location

The hotel is a cluster of bungalows nestled in the valley below Hang Mua. You’re actually beyond the ticketing access point to the mountain so you can climb it whenever during your stay. The restaurant serves a good meal (we ate both dinner and breakfast). Staff is very friendly and helpful and arranged a great private tour (Tam Coc-Bich Dong-Hoa Lu) for our group of four. Thuy, the guide is the best!

Had a good stay here; didn't expect it to be so in the 'wilderness' or directly at the foot of the Dragon mountain; added bonus!
Stayed one night expressly to climb mountain, so 12pm check out was appreciated.
Dinner was a bit of a shame as the food was good but they were out of stock of quite a few things.
Breakfast was good.
Rooms are basic with hard beds but very clean. Ours was right near the mountain steps all on its own! Super dark on paths but torches are provided.
Our friends had a double room which had an external shower and bath made from the cliff/mountain, pretty amazing (they also had an internal bathroom)
The service was very good, with one exceptionally helpful lady. The welcome tea in reception is appreciated.

Beautiful location. Lots to do. Bike and scooter rental on site. You can hike the 500 steps up the mountain. Boat rides on river close by or at park. Staff very helpful in arranging transportation.

Stunning scenery!

This hotel could be the most amazing place, the location within the Mua caves is stunning. The restaurant staff could teach the front reception staff some lessons in friendliness though. Through out our travels in Vietnam this has been the least welcome we have felt. We stayed for Four nights in two different rooms as there was a mix up with the booking site. I had booked both Superior rooms but they made us change rooms despite the hotel being empty!?! Our second room which the frosty reception said was a deluxe actually turned out to be nicer anyway!
Breakfast was ok but not much variety. The fresh juice was the best!
Mua Caves eco resort could be so special with a bit of polish it is a bit roughly finished and a friendlier welcome!

A world of it's own, amongst the rice fields

If you want to get away from the world and into your own cocoon, Mua Cave Eco Lodge might be the best and most scenic place to stay at. It's a 10-12 min ride from the Tac Coc central area, tucked away next to the Mua Cave and temple. After sunset it might take some courage to get onto your scooter and get to town as the road leading to the main road gets really dark as there are no street lights, so bear that in mind. Good thing though that there is a restaurant in the lodge that serves reasonably good food at a reasonable price, phew!
Waking up in the morning to amazing views around is the best morning to ask for. Plus you could wake up early and hike up the mountain in the cool weather for amazing 360 degree views of Tam Coc and the surrounding towns.
The rooms and washrooms were big, clean and really cozy. We felt really relaxed during our one night stay here :)

A nice place in a beautiful setting. Very quiet at night. Great to sit out in the early evening and enjoy the tranquility. Also a great place for setting out into the countryside by bike or motorbike to explore the many sights. The people running the hotel are nice and very helpful. Only downsides are that the restaurant is just okay, and it's a bit of a hike to get into town if you want to eat/drink at night. But a taxi ride is relatively cheap and a bike or motorbike will get you there in about 10 minutes.

Beautiful, but don't rent a scooter! Scam!

Beautiful venue but scam on-site scooter rental that overcharged by hundreds of thousands dong. Loved the spacious villas and breathtaking mountain views, but the scam scooter rental place rented us scooters that wouldnt start or died halfway through rental. We also verbally confirmed the amt and duration before renting, but both changed upon return and all of a sudden he couldn't speak English and he was just an employee who didn't make the rules (despite previously agreeing to the terms with us). Paid about 3 days worth for only 1.5 days rental. Hotel refused to be associated, even though it was on hotel grounds, except when one of the scooters broke and the hotel agreed to help collect it. Very convenient. The breakfast was also very, very meager (choice of pancake or pho--that is it). No fruit or egg or anything, so not filling at all.

Amazing Surroundings

Surreal surroundings right at the base of a mountain surrounded by rice fields. Take the stairs to the top of the mountain for amazing views of Tam Coc valley. Very quiet and peaceful place. Our bungalow offered a lot of space, more than enough for 2 people. The food at the restaurant was pretty good too.

It was great!

Beautiful views, awesome location with scenic countryside, caves, and trails up the mountain to explore. We really enjoyed our stay here. The only downside is that there's no restaurants or cafes nearby. We ate at the hotel restaurant and there's another grass bungalow hotel about 5-10 minutes walk away that has a restaurant. It is not walkable to town so if you can ride motorbikes that's better for getting around. The room was nice and decent.

The hotel staff did everything they could to make us comfortable. It rained so they handed us an umbrella. When it was time for a taxi, it was there with directions in Vietnamese. It was fun being inside the park which is absolutely gorgeous, at the foot of the steps to the Pagoda. Nice bicycles to rent and a nice ride to Tom Coc boats.

The room was bigger than expected and the grounds were beautiful. The hotel is inside the part so we had access to the cave and the temple. It's a bit far from town to eat out but the restaurant had great food and reasonable prices. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Great place to stay in Ninh Binh!

Fantastic location with Mua caves in our backyard. Thus we have access to the cave whenever we like with free admission (100K VND/person)! This hotel is also a quick bike ride away from trang an and tam coc.

Manager of the hotel was nice giving us welcome tea upon arrival. He also let us stay an additional 8 hours in our room after checkout with just $15 US surcharge. The receptionist was helpful with booking train tickets when it was sold out online. She called the station and talked to them for 20 minutes to get us the soft sleepers we wanted and even picked up the tickets for us.

The room was spacious with fantastic view! Shower was beside a large window overlooking the limestone mountains. Incredible !

Amongst the Karst scenery

Lovely lodge set amidst pools and plants. Mua peak rose behind us so climbed up the steps to the temple and had amazing views of Tam Coc river where we'd had our boat trip. Supper delicious and very reasonable. All meals eaten in the cave so fun. Hired bikes and fab cycle all day amongst Karst scenery and Paddy fields. Staff charming and helpful. Delicious mango smoothies. Don't miss this place if you want peace and beauty at a terrific price.

Beautiful restful location and views

We stayed here for a couple of nights at the end of September. The staff were helpful in organising our transport and were also very proud of their establishment. Room was spacious and clean. Beautiful grounds around the hotel where you can walk around a lake, gardens, through caves to a nice reading spot or climb up the stairs (not as painful as they look) to see the sunrise from the shrine at the top.

Wonderful location, and extremely helpful staff

EVen though the price for the hotel is on the higher side, it is very very reasonable for the location.
In middle of the downtown, surrounded by the best hotels and buildings, walking distance from the river.

This place is a steal for the location, the rooms arent super luxurious but very comfortable.

The breakfast was sinful! Banana pan cake and their coffee are a must have.

As for the staff, I dont know where to begin, they were super helpful, not sure what we would have done without them.
We were planning to leave for Cat Tien the next morning, they not only arranged for a bus and a cab, they even got us a discount :)

Next morning when we checkout, were were given 3 pieces of pare, one with instruction in Vietnamese for the taxi driver, one in Vietnamese for the bus driver, and one with instruction in English for us. They made the whole travel so smooth without us conversing with anyone. The hotel guys even spoke to the hotel staff from Cat tien to arrange for our pick up and they were informed of our bus details.

The best service I have had in a while!

立地条件は最高でした。残念ながらベットに布団カバーしかかけて無く、1人分はクローゼットの予備の布団を使っても、あと1人分足りないのです。何回電話してもすぐ持って行きますと言うのですが全然持って来ませんでした。待っていられないので観光に出かけました。仕方が無いのでこちらからインフォメーションに出かけて頼みました。頼んでからもなかなか持って来てくれなくて、再度電話したらやっと持って来てくれました。ベトナムではエアコンの効いた部屋でも布団カバーだけで就寝するのでしょうか。

宿泊者は施設内への入場は無料。

Hôtel composé de bungalows magnifiques dans un cadre idyllique. L'hôtel indispensable pour visiter les monts karstiques car il est intégré directement dans les monts.. Jardins et bassins font du lieu un paradis. Le personnel est adorable et peux tout vous organiser pour des prix bien meilleurs que ceux des agences de tourismes. Chambres magnifiques et très propres, Equipement total et parfait . Tout est prévu et pensé pour vous offrir le meilleur confort possible.

Joli cadre, un peu isolé

petits bungalow en dur individuels, le cadre de l’hôtel est magnifique, l'accès au view-point (environ 300 marches ou +) se fait par le jardin de la résidence...
mais c'est un peu isolé et du coup pas facile d'accès en dehors des taxis .. et forcé de s'adresser à l’hôtel pour bouger ....
Tam Coc est à 5km par la route
l'éclairage de la chambre est faible pour ceux qui veulent lire ou écrire ...
le matin vous êtes réveillés très tôt par le chant du coq et des oiseaux crapauds etc.
Le restaurant de l’hôtel est un peu plus cher que ceux du secteur, mais pratique et bien.
