Check in was efficient but lacked welcome or friendliness. No mention whatsoever of breakfast. Room was poorly lit with poor A/C and windows screwed shut.

No river view. Outside courtyard was ruined by extremely noisy A/C fans.

The boathouse by the river (part of the hotel) refused us permission to have a drink on the riverside terrace unless we ordered food.

The hotel was busy with many cruise passengers.

Room is OK, we were in the old part of the building. Very outdated. Bathroom was small and we had no place to put your stuff. Room drastically needs technology updates and more outlets to plug-in laptops and/or charge phones and iPads.

The best part of this hotel is the location. Very convenient to nearby restaurants and shopping. Also, we found the breakfast and dinner restaurants at the hotel very good and affordable.

Beware of standard room. The standard room we received had a strong smell of cleaning products and a non-working toilet. We were moved to a second room but found that room to be very out dated, moldy smelling and dark.
We had a second reservation 10 days later in the \"tower\" area. That is a significant improvement. Advice is to stay away from standard rooms.

The only downside was one of the two elevators was down for maintenance during our stay which resulted in wasted time waiting for an elevator.

We stayed at this hotel before our cruise. This is the second time we have done this. If you don't want to stay on the beach, this hotel is in a perfect location for you, especially if you are not renting a car. It's right on Las Olas Boulevard with everything at your fingertips. It's an old, classic hotel that's been there for 90 years, so it has that special charm. Although older, the rooms are being modernized and Merline, who checked us in, upgraded us from a standard King room to an updated corner mini-suite with a terrace overlooking Las Olas, because we were repeat guests. We really appreciated and enjoyed that. Thanks Merline!

This is our go-to hotel before a cruise out of Fort Lauderdale because we enjoy the atmosphere, the value of the lower rates as compared to the major hotel chains on the beach, and the proximity to everything available on Las Olas.

The hotel offers several venues to eat and drink. One restaurant is right on Las Olas, but my favorite spot is the Boathouse bar and restaurant set right on the New River. So while you are relaxing and enjoying a drink or a meal here, you can sit back and watch all the boats and yachts drift by - its just wonderful, especially during the winter months if you are visiting from the cold and snowy Northeast like we were.

We found all the staff very friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and spacious and the public spaces comfortable and upscale, with that old-world charm. We will be staying at the Riverside again.

The hotel is in the heart of Las Olas Blvd. The restaurant in the hotel was great for breakfast. It was too cold to use the pool but it looks wonderful. The lobby is a great place to hang out for happy hour and live piano music. The staff was excellent too!! Will definitely be back.

Hotel is very dated, doesn’t seem super clean and very very noisy all hours of the night and day. Hotel staff not very friendly at all. Way too pricey for what you get. This hotel used to be amazing years ago but we will not be returning here

Riverside is the perfect location for an overnight stay before boarding a cruise ship. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Las Olas Boulevard offers a variety of restaurants. The Riverwalk is right across the street.The shuttle service provides a seamless arrival at Port Everglades. The Riverside Hotel is a short taxi ride from the airport. We've stayed there for our past 2 cruise vacations and plan to stay there again.

Room was in horrible condition. I “thought” if I paid over 500.00 for 1 night it would be a very nice room. My BFF was in town and we took the train to Ft. Lauderdale from Orlando just for fun and relaxation! After I complained about our room; I was told the other tower was renovated and much better, but, they were full. The walls were dirty, paint chipping off, bath tub chipping, corners dirty and so on……coffee pot broken!!! Water seeped out underneath it snd went all over the table. So disappointed. I’m not sure what I paid 500.00 + for. To add insult to injury; no one cared that would speak with at the hotel, no one! Never again.

The elevator was out of order for a few hours and we had fire alarms go off at 5:30 am and again at 6 am our first night Thursday technically Friday morning. Which really disrupted our sleep- we never heard why it happened.

The location is great. The staff are efficient and friendly. The lobby is fabulous on a cooler day due to both fireplaces being on. The room is nice. The only complaint is the bathroom is small. There is no vanity space to put your toiletries. Otherwise, all is good.

We were given a room that was very noisy and the windows were all blocked like a prison. There was a big equipment outside the room that made loud noises. The room was also small not what we booked. After we requested again they gave us a better room. They should not have sold us the first room to begin with.
