The rooms were clean and absolutely beautiful. The site setting is stunning and kept up with great care . What stands out for Beqa Lagoon Resort is the staff - the Fijian people who become like family, caring and very good at what they do from the housekeeping staff to grounds keeping, excellent food and serving and the dive team which is one of the best I’ve experienced after diving for over 40 years all over the world . Love it and will be back again, as it is now like another home ! Most amazing dives ever !

Beqa Lagoon Resort was an absolutely phenomenal experience for us.
The location is beautiful and relaxing, the prepaid meal plan (3 meals a day) is delicious, and all the activities the resort put on are fun and engaging.
The diving was enjoyable, but the highlight was definitely the shark dives. The dive team are well informed and are able to provide good insight into the nearby shark population and their place in the ecosystem.
Despite all of the above, the thing that makes Beqa Lagoon such an amazing experience is the staff who work there. They all do such an amazing job, and truly live by the mantra that it is your 'home away from home'.
Everything about our experience at this place was phenomenal.

NEVER COME HERE. Mosquitoes are everywhere, not just limited to your room. All the insect sprays are empty and they are good at swapping them around to pretend that they have replaced with new ones. Everything is a “YES” from their mouth but their actions say a “NO” as there’s no further action taken. The manager is smug and she doesn’t take any responsibility.

Beqa Island Lagoon Resort is Paradise!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Beqa Lagoon Resort! It was everything we were looking for in a remote island destination.

The amazing staff greeted us on the beach with music and shell necklaces - so began our love affair. The service is excellent and accommodating. Enthusiastic Filo gave us an excellent orientation and made us feel very welcome. Wayne, the GM, checked in with us almost daily and was so helpful. Keleni in the main office was a delight and charged our devices when our adapter didn't work. Sera gives the BEST MASSAGES on the planet - I'm not kidding! Joseph is an excellent activities director and island guide. The people make the trip and they are wonderful!!!

The food was very good and you can choose from 3 different entrees at lunch and dinner. Breakfast is buffet style and you can request fresh cooked eggs.

Our room was comfortable and roomy. The mattress and bedding were also comfy - which can be an issue in places this remote. The air conditioning worked great and power is supplied to the room 24/7. We've stayed in remote places where the beds are rock hard, there's no AC, and power is only available a few hours a day - so this isn't roughing it at all.

We aren't divers, but we do snorkel and were able to fully enjoy this resort. You can snorkel the reef right in front of the resort and it's quite full of life. They also offer free use of kayaks and SUP boards. Around 2:30 PM each day the resort offers included and paid activities - all great!

Lovely location and facilities. Good food. Best known for diving, but we enjoyed snorkeling every day on a reef off the beach. Nice hike to waterfall. Overall food was good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Especially enjoyed the evening church choir and visit to local school. Kids adorable.

The people were absolutely incredible: friendly, helpful and knowledgable. Food was great and on time, even after the generator quick working the staff was just so accomadating. Great scuba group too.
Of course anytime you have facilities in a tropical environment upkeep is a concern, but the resort was in pretty good shape. Maintenance needs to be done on scuba boats, but crew was fantastic

We stayed at a total of 5 different resorts while we were in Fiji and Beqa Lagoon Resort was our favorite. The staff is so incredibly welcoming. We will absolutely be back to do the shark dive someday.

Wonderful, authentic Fijian resort

Wonderful, authentic Fijian resort. Great good, tasty and beautifully presented. Fantastic caring, friendly, happy and respectful staff. Well appointed and very comfortable accommodation. Superb location, wide range of activities to suit all ages including children - family very tearful to leave after a memorable 2 night stay and have made me promise to return for a further stay in a couple of months.

A little pricey but good stay

We had picked Beqa as it was one of the few island resorts available last minute over the New Year holidays. The staff is very friendly, and takes the time to get to know your name and preferences.
The resort has a beach lined with palm trees, and the pool faces the ocean as well. The grounds are very well maintained, and on a clear night you can see the night sky in great detail.
The resort is very popular with divers, and even though we are not divers, we had a great time snorkeling in the house reef (which is fantastic). The resort has a small charge for renting snorkel equipment, but kayaks and paddle boards are free.
The dining/bar area is open on 2 sides, and has assigned seating for each day - on the second day we requested the small table at the front, and were moved to it the following day. The meal plan is $50 USD per person daily - breakfast was a standard buffet, but the lunch (1 course) and dinner (3 courses) were both excellent. The bar has filtered water, tea & coffee available throughout the day.
The room was very large, with a good size bathroom, and separate seating area. The housekeeping is sporadic, so you have to ask for the room to be made up.
The spa is pretty good, and the resort boutique sells Pure Fiji products :)
There are several daily activities planned (available for free and for an extra charge). The snorkeling trip is nice, but the Secret Island trip is absolutely amazing!

Holiday in magnificent Beqa Lagoon

This the most beautiful place in Fiji. The Beqa people are the most genuine and lovely people on the planet. Everyday is heaven there, the food is amazing, the kindness and warmth of the staff are what makes this place. If you want a holiday that is like living in a postcard, this is the place. Vinaka Vakalevu.

Unparalleled Escape

For Water Sport Lovers

If you enjoy all the water sport activities (diving, snorkeling, swim, etc) then this is your hotel. they also offer other island activities, but the main attractions are obviously the diving. We did the shark dive and we were amazed by the organization and safety measures, and we would go back just to do this.
Shared tables for meals, so be prepared to make friends :-)
I think the hotel needs an overall fix-up and maintenance, but we had enough for what we were looking for. but again we are not high maintenance people.

Great for diving & snorkelling

For a 4 star resort and visiting in the hottest time of the year, there was not one umbrella on the beach or beside the pool. So finding shade to sit under was very limited. Also we have always found it a treat to have wait staff asking you through the day sitting by the pool or even on the beach, if you would like a drink. Not so at Beqa. Even at meal times, you had to go to the bar and order your drinks. Of course they would deliver drinks to your table, but only when you went to the bar yourself. Surely by doing this the owners of the resort are denying themselves so much revenue it's not funny. One night we sat chatting after dinner with another family, and the bar was totally packed up by 9.30pm and the staff were pretty much waiting for us to go back to our bures and call it a night. The manager was rarely on island that we saw, and never really made a point of welcoming anybody. In general the staff were very friendly, spa ladies just beautiful and had great massages and facials. Housekeeping was great, dive and activities staff great. Activities were sometimes a non-event, even if posted on the board. The pool was nice, but needed work. Food generally good. Breakfast was OK. One morning we ordered poached eggs, only to find out they'd run out of bread to toast. The few hot things on offer in bane maries were pretty much the same every day. Diving & snorkelling was excellent, even the house reef for non-divers was great. Kayaks and SUP's available.

Our Stay in Beqa Lagoon

This is an amazing resort for divers and families who want a range of activities but also a more private and laid back atmosphere that is not touristy. The spa massages are wonderful, our ocean bure was a dream, the food was excellent and the staff is authentically friendly and accommodating. I would go back in a heartbeat. Although I didn't dive this trip due to an ear problem, we kayaked, paddle boarded, snorkeled and did the waterfall hike. This is one of the only places in the world that has regular dives to see tiger and bull sharks.

Happy hour is a bit confusing regarding drink prices, but overall, we were in paradise everyday and met so many wonderful families during our week. The office staff, chef, activities staff -- all gracious and competent people!

We were welcomed ashore by a crowd of singing staff, and proceeded to lunch, after which, our bags had already found their way to our room. The room was nice, the bed was fantastic. We had a small dipping pool in our little courtyard, which was very nice on the hot afternoons, although I wouldn't have complained if it was a few degrees colder still. The AC worked great, and the food options were so delicious, every day. I enjoyed every meal very much, along with the facilities, and the scuba diving too!

Old style traditional Pacific island getaway

Had a great week at Beqa Lagoon (pronounced \"Benga\") even though we didn't do any diving (did some snorkelling which was great). Facility is \"older style\" but well maintained, grounds beautiful and pool excellent. Was a bit worried about the set menu every day but there was sufficient variety and it was always tasty and satisfying, with plenty of local fish! While clearly a diving resort with all activities focused on that sport we went just to relax between Christmas and New Year and we certainly did that!

Fantastic stay!

We nearly cried when we boarded our boat to return to the mainland from this resort! We felt like family staying at this friendly and beautiful place. The setting is gorgeous, the water stunning, and without cars or crowded conditions, we felt a great sense of peace. The staff is so warm and accommodating, and the grounds lush and serene. We also thought the food was well prepared and beautifully presented.

Great vacation spot!

Beqa Lagoon Resort can be reached only by boat. It is truly like landing in paradise. We were escorted by dolphins as we crossed Beqa Lagoon and we were welcomed at the beach by singing and guitar playing. The grounds are spectacular, the bures are accessed by way of wooden foot bridges over Koi ponds. The bures are bright and spacious and when you are sitting on your porch you feel like you could be the only ones around. The dining area and bar are open air and the food is excellent! Each day you choose between meat, fish and vegetarian dishes accompanied by soups or salads.
You can snorkel or dive on the house reefs right off the beach, sea kayak, paddle board, swim and, of course, head out on the dive boats.
The diving is tremendous! The shark dive that is offered is without parallel in my experience. On a single dive I encountered nurse, lemon, blacktip, grey reef, bull and tiger sharks!
The reef dives are also outstanding, the variety of hard and soft corals is truly impressive.
Our dive boat was accompanied by a pod of humpback whales one afternoon, it was quite the show!
I must also mention the staff. They were fantastic! By the end of your vacation they are like family.
I can't wait to return!

Beautiful location friendly staff... but only 3*

I have just returned from 5 days at BLR with my two teenage sons. We had expected a 4*+ experience based on the photo gallery on the BLR website, and also on the many very positive reviews on Trip Advisor. Overall we had a fabulous relaxing tropical holiday, once we adjusted our expectations.

The Resort is in a poor state of repair. We were initially put in a 2 bedroom bure which was so poor that I asked to be moved. After two requests we were moved to a single room bure that was in much better condition. However even that had problems - the bathroom tap bare trickled, and the plug could not be closed. There were no power points in the bathroom so drying hair or using a shaver had to be done without a mirror. The one towel rail, installed during our stay, was so small that it could barely cope with one towel. But the beds were large and very comfortable, and the room felt spacious and clean and welcoming. The plunge pool had paint peeling off the bottom and was too cold to use. The garden area in front of the bure was lovely, if a little untended.

The thatched style roofs that appear in the website photos have all disappeared. I can only guess that they blew away in the cyclone in February, leaving bare roofing iron. Understandable, but surprising that no effort has been made to replace them by July.

The swmming pool is pristine, and very inviting, if a little cold at the time of the year.

The restaurant/communal space at the front of the resort was in good condition. I

The property is in VERY poor condition with a large amount of resort fixtures that are in desperate need of repair and have obviously been allowed to deteriorate to an unacceptable condition. As the resort in on an island fresh water supply also appears to be a problem as several times the limited supply was cut off and there wasn't any!

Very Welcoming - A beautiful part of Fiji

We stayed for a week and it was beautiful. The welcome on the beach, the location and the mix of tradition was really good. We didn't dive but the snorkeling was also good. From all reports the diving was really good.

Loved the people who worked there and also we meet some really friendly guests who it was a pleasure to spend time with on some of the activities.

This is the best way to experience Fiji as it isn't just staying in a hotel that could be anywhere. It was a lovely Fijian experience.

Wonderful staff

Beqa Lagoon was magical. I absolutely loved my experience. I was traveling alone and didn't realise it was such a dive resort (I am not a diver) but the groups were friendly and it ended up feeling a bit like summer camp. My Bure was huge and comfortable. The food was fabulous - honestly, delicious, and I am a picky eater - I did not have a bad meal. I had three spa treatments that were fantastic and snorkelled and kayaked and drank beers. It was just magical.

My favourite experiences were those that involved the village kids - the school trip and the final Bula night. I am a teacher and I fully enjoyed these cultural experiences that didn't feel forced or exploitive, but welcoming and informative of Fijian life.

If and when I return to Fiji I will
Spend more time at Beqa Lagoon. I will get dive certified and spend two weeks here :)

Fantastic secluded beach island location

Staff warmly treated us like family. Our chambermaid Vina was particularly dear and accommodating. The decor is more authentic than other properties. Many interesting demonstrations of native culture, such as Kokonda preparation and Fire Walking. The scuba diving was world-class: will never forget the tiger sharks! Massage treatments at the spa outstanding. Altogether one of the best stays we've had in our lives!

Mainly divers stay here. My husband and I are non divers and had a great relaxing holiday. The staff are just the best. Don't expect a resort like on the mainland but expect a beautiful Fijian experience. We enjoyed that there was something on each afternoon and loved the local villagers coming in at night - church choir singing, staff band & local children dancing etc. School tour was an absolute treasure. The snorkelling and kayaking was fun too. The voices of the Fijians are pure gold. They are renowed for their shark diving and when you are at dinner (communal type dining) you get to see amazing shots from the divers. Everyone has the best intention on this island so enjoy its simplicity - we certainly did.

BEST HOSPITALITY OF ANYWHERE WE HAVE TRAVELED!!!

My fiancé and I found this resort while browsing the internet, and we were interested as I like to scuba dive and she wanted to relax on a quiet beach. Beqa lagoon resort exceeded our expectations, and had the friendliest staff of any resort that we have stayed. They make you feel welcome from the moment you step on the beach, and by the end of our first day many of the staff knew us by first name. If you like to dive, I highly recommend this resort, as they take care of everything for you; you just have to be ready to hop on the boat. They dive sites are awesome too. I recommend the shark dive. If you are not into diving, you have a private beach to relax at, and a spa if you want a massage. We also enjoyed the daily cultural experiences that the resort would put on. We highly recommend this resort of you want to get away to fiji, and we can't wait to return.

Beautiful bures and excellent snorkelling

The beachfront bures with plunge pool are beautiful. I loved the range of lazing options in my own yard - from comfy chairs to sunbed to plunge pool to hammock to day bed- I could have lounged all day.
I loved that beqa is such a lush forest covered island and very different in appearance to the manamucas and yasawas. The snorkelling reef in front of the resort was extensive, colourful and fishy! The snorkel trip to Lawaki is also excellent - great colourful coral and some little reef sharks at the drop off.

We booked for this resort because we love diving/snorkeling and we were certainly not disappointed. The variety of sites and the competence of the dive team were all we could wish for. However, that is just the start. On this, our sixth trip to Fiji, we came away with a feeling of genuine warmth toward the management team Mark and Poldi and Fred. Nothing was too much trouble to ensure a memorable stay and this attitude was reflected by the staff at all levels in their friendly Fiji attitudes. I must also mention the exceptionally good catering. Vegetarian meals of a high standard are offered at all times.

Great Scuba diving hotel

This hotel is for Scuba Divers. If you do not dive you will not like this hotel because there is nothing else to do unless you want to see how native Fijians live. The only thing other than Scuba Diving they did have was a few ocean kyacks.They do have limited internet but no phones unless your cell phone works in Fiji. If you are a scuba diver this is a great place to go. The shark dive is something you have to do.

The managers Mark and Sue do a great job. The staff is made up of Beqa's villagers. They are friendly, open and welcoming. I loved it better than any other place I have stayed. The dive team really takes great care of you. Chef Lala does amazing things with food and the desserts are not to be missed. The dive sites are stunning and snorkling in between was a good way to spend the break. This is the place to dive, dine and relax.

Lugar adorável com gente encantadora

O lugar e muito bonito e o pessoal faz de tudo para agradar aos hóspedes. A praia não é bonita em si mas prove um ótimo snorkeling com muita vida é cores bem em frente ao hotel. O mergulho é fantástico especialmente com tubarões e o pessoal muito profissional. Há passeios ótimos e atrações interessantes todos os dias. Comida muito boa. Ambiente aconchegante e intimista que nos faz sentir em casa rapidamente.
