The customer service is top notch. Great staff. The Bare's are quite nice and the dorm could use a little love with the screens / lockers, but overall the Bula Bula vibe is real and the location is amazing- right on the beach - not far to Aquatrek- where I highly recommend the shark diving!

Overall it was nice. The room is spacious, the garden is beautiful and the beach is very nice. My big disappointment is there was no bath tub in our villa. I double checked when I booked the resort and saw the picture. Other than that it was a quiet and relaxing stay.

Excellent choice in Pacific Harbour! I just stayed here with a group of 21 university students at the conclusion of a two-week trip around Fiji. The rooms are large, comfortable, and in an attractive setting, and the price point for these rooms is an excellent value. The restaurant/bar/pool area provides a delightful environment for relaxing during the day/evening, plus the various specials that they run every day make for a very affordable stay.
Moana and the staff are very helpful. Prior to our arrival, they assisted me in adjusting my dates with no problem, and also reached out to me via whatsapp to see if our group would like to attend their Thursday Island Night/Fire Show (which we did and thoroughly enjoyed). Throughout our stay the staff was very warm and helpful, and assisted us with any particular needs we had. Uprising is also part of the Duavata collective, which promotes culturally and environmentally sensitive travel across Fiji. This was my first time staying at Uprising, and I am very glad that we did. In the future, I will continue to bring groups here, as it is a great base for the various activities (diving, tubing, golf, fishing, etc.) in the Pacific Harbour/Beqa area). Thank you to Moana and all the staff for providing such a wonderful stay for our group.

This is true and beautiful Fiji. We stayed here ten years ago and couldn’t wait to get back. Our own bure was spacious and immaculate. We have never experienced such a warm and welcoming staff in all of our travels. The place is like staying in a beautiful Fijian village with coconut palms, a great swimming pool, dining room, bar, and beautiful beach with a view of the Beqa island.

The staff were incredibly nice and joyful especially the bar and restaurant staff. The grounds were upkept nicely, and the gardens were beautiful. The restaurant food was always really yum and reasonably priced compared to other resorts and hotels. The only let down was the cleanliness, the bathrooms in the restaurant area were not cleaned the entire time I stayed, and the dormitory I stayed in for half of my stay was very dirty with lots of bugs dead on all the beds. The dormitory also only had fans but out of the four, one was broken, and majority of the charging points were broken. But thankfully I visited in low season and basically had the entire place to myself so was able to move around and it wasn't too hot. Due to the cheap price, good location for shark diving and lovely staff, I would still definitely stay here again.

Our burr was comfortable with the breeze wafting through the screened windows. I wish there had been hot water for showers.

To be honest the amount charged for the room and what we actually got to see was disgusting ..the room was dirty with pillow case not even changed ,room not sweeped ,croaches flying inside the room even landed on my partner's towel,one spoon ,no plates and tea and coffee seemed to be expired ,shower inside room not working ...the shower outside ..area wasn't even cleaned with fallen coconut leaves .....waste of money people come for experience but seems like it's a regret to book please look into issues as people pay money 💰

1st and foremost, the Fijian staff were absolutely amazing. Can never fault them as they are so attentive, happy and always looking to help.
So all the staff were amazing.
But....Its definitely a 3 star resort. Needs alot of repairs, the aircon isnt big enough for the room, they ran out of a third of their menu for a 3-4 days and the menu was very basic.
Again, there is no negativity towards the staff as they are perfect and apologetic for the above things, but of course its up to the owners to fix.

We booked 2 beachfront villas which were very spacious. The grounds were beautiful and well kept as well. The outdoor shower was so refreshing! The ocean breeze kept us cool and the beach out front was great to swim in at low tide.

Service was hit and miss. We booked for same day stay and it turned out that we couldn’t dine at the restaurant. You apparently have to pre book as they were having a Polynesian night but were told at check in we could order from a la carte. When we went for dinner we were told this wasn’t the case and they couldn’t offer us anything at all including and no room service. We were told to drive to a different restaurant if we wanted to eat anything. This is very poor service to not offer any dining options at all to your in house guests. Luckily we had a car to drive up the road in the rain to find something to eat with an 11 month old in tow.

The facilities also need a bit of an up keeping, pool is old with peeling paint and feels very uninviting. Basic amenities are missing like tissues, face towels and floor towels for bath. The indoor bath was falling apart in both villas.

this place has so much potential. It would be nice to have the shower area cleaned.... it had discarded shampoo/wash bottles as well as discarded strapping tape from previous guests. The area around the shower tap was quite blackened by mould.... it would have easy been easy to clean. The path and shower base could have been wiped or mopped too. The interior of the room was comfortable but could have had a fresh paint job. With some more colourful curtain and/or bed throw it would have been really lovely. Perhaps an armchair or two OR a small couch. It would have been an amazing room

Closer to highway. There are a variety of plants in the gardens which gives the property a natural look.
Prices are affordable, breakfast included was nice.

There is a need for staff training - they lack standard work ethics, such as drinking coffee at the counter. The property needs maintenance work- paths leading to rooms are worn out, consequently carts pushed are very noisy, no towels in room, bed bugs, no soap in outside dispenser, hornets in windows.

Very lovely and dedicated staff. Great 6 nights. Got in both the Dorm and Bures. Serious renovations and property upgrade needed inside. Powe points and some lights not working. I didn't expect to not have a TV in such a lovely large room. Some surfaces can do with painting or tint especially the decks. Asked 3 times to get my curtain fixed as it was not closing properly. Large stains on curtains and the linen has seen better days. I enjoyed the food and activities particularly Thursday and Friday. Waking up to the sound of the sea and beautiful gardens was amazing. I can only return once renovated and TV available in the room.

Uprising!!! What a beautiful resort, in a true and beautiful Fiji Style.. what we love about it was the quietness, there was a calm and great energy. A resort that you want if you are looking to calm down and appreciate nature, fiji, and being in the moment. The staff is absolutely amazing.. I was there with my 4 year old daughter and they made us feel right away at home and felt we were part of the family.
I will always come back here, the next time we will be in Fiji again..!

While staff were kind and careful, several items lead to a 3/5:
- The day we arrived there was a show (as every Thursday) and as we arrived in late afternoon the booking was full and had to dinner in another place
- Several issues with shower (hot water not stable, low pressure)
- No mosquito net around the bed while a lot of mosquitos surrounding you
- No wifi (in the bedroom at least)
- No sport facility while it’s written on the website

No internet in the room. Wanted to charge $15 but I had to fight for free modem which was later given to me FOC.
Given only one umbrella but we were 2.
Had to walk about another 200 meters to reach the room.

Towels were issued at Reception and we had to return the same on check out.

We loved staying here! Where do I even start! We stayed here in June 2023 with our one year old daughter. The staff were SO amazing with her, and she loved them, so much so that each time we saw one of the staff she reached for them. We felt right at home, and it was such a lovely break to stay in a beautiful location right on the beach, with a fun vibe, good food and cocktails and interesting people to talk to and lots of sand for our daughter eat. We stayed in a villa and it was clean, comfortable and had AirCon. It was a true tropical holiday with a local, authentic feel - not a stuffy flashy resort! I was truly sad to leave, and highly recommend this place to anyone, especially if you've loved travelling in Bali and Southeast Asia. We'll be back!

We (my partner I and our toddler) stayed in a bure and the view was amazing. It was very big and practical with a toddler. The wc in the bure is a bit old fashioned and not very well maintained. However the rainfall shower is such a great experience. We absolutely love it.
Their serve very good in their restaurant. The hotel itself is very nice. You can see some stuffs are not very well maintained (probably due to $$). Staffs are very nice and kids friendly.
The surroundings are okay but you need a car as there is not much to do or make sure you check the timetables for the activities of the excursions around. Overall, very nice place to stay

I stayed at Uprising for 4 nights in a Beach front villa and truly enjoyed my stay. The beach front villa is well worth the little extra $$. The sea view is gorgeous and you get the sea breeze too. I also like that it is very spacious, plus it has an aircon which is helpful on the hot and humid nights. The outdoor shower is lovely.

The beach is nice, clean and peaceful. Really enjoyed walking on the long stretch of beach.

Staff made the place even more special. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Vinaka all :-)

Highly recommend the Beach front villa at Uprising. It has the charm.

Very old and run down. Felt like i was falling through the floor boards at times. The staff are incredible and do an awesome job every day to help out the guests (the fire dancing night is awesome!) But the condition of the place is very poor for what you pay. Snorkling is no good off the beach as you are off the reef which was very unfortunate. The fishing trip with a local man from the village was awesome (thanks to the staff who helped organise it) and very resonably priced. Didnt have breakfast there (went to skinny bean cafe every day) but had dinner and the indian and seafood choices are all really delicious. Rooms were also very old, the sheets and towels were very worn and the shower is very aged also. (No hot water but not a huge botber to us). I hope this place recovers and the owner is able to put some money into the place to bring it back to its former standards.

It was exactly 32 steps from my vilal’s lanai to the beach. I loved waking up every morning and watching the sunrises from the beach.

The front desk staff were fantastic. I couldn’t have been any happier with them. Super friendly and super helpful.

The restaurant staff were nice too. Service is not as fast as you would normally expect in a restaurant but hey, you are on Fiji time. Just sit back and relax.

Some of the finishings in the bathroom were a little dated but that was okay. The outdoor shower which you could also access from the beach was crazy good!

I would definitely love to stay here again.

We had a horrible experience at the resort. Me and my family stayed for 5 nites and occupied 2 villas. My daughter’s villa was broken into and all her electronics were stolen…laptops Apple Watch backpack etc. So I was scared and I did not stay at the property on December 5 as planned. I am expecting a refund from Uprising but have not received it yet. Also we are requesting a reimbursement of the stolen electronics worth over $2000.
