This is one of the worst one night stays I have had somewhere. We had staff and other guests with access to our room walk in, one at 10:30 at night. Our room key was deactivated, locking us out twice! There were pubic hairs still in the shower and soap or toothpaste spray on the mirror in the bathroom. We paid an extra fee for having our pet with us…for a “pet friendly” hotel, there is no adequate place to walk a dog for the bathroom. I would not recommend this place and honestly, staff saying “sorry” just isn’t good enough.

It seemed like a nice hotel. The lobby and breakfast area were nice. The guy making the breakfast was helpful and kind. The breakfast was great. But our room was filthy!!! The carpet felt sticky and within minutes of walking around our feet were black! I could hardly stand it to have children in there. The window and around it was absolutely horrible. Layers of dust and dirt. What a let down Holiday Inn! There's a reason why we buy Holiday, usually they are awesome, but definitely not this time!

We booked through a 3rd party vendor and the person checking us in made a huge deal regarding this. The person checking us in made such a big deal about us and were so mean, my eight year old son asked if something was wrong and if he was being mean. He wasn't, neither was I or my husband, they were having a bad day and took it out on us.

Other than this interaction at check in, the stay was fine, 2-3/5. The room was spacious and we slept well. The bathroom was also spacious and clean. We did not use any other amenities as we wanted to leave the property as quickly as possible as we did not want to have any additional interactions with staff.

Only thing I would complain about is that you can hear every sound going on in the hotel. But it was super clean, front desk clerk was so sweet!

Mandy greeted us upon entering. She was great! She informed us of the breakfast schedule and had recommendations for dinner in Limon. She was genuinely interested in us and that really made a difference on where to stay in the future in Limon.

The hotel is going through a remodel. Despite that, it was dark and uninviting when we walked in. It was weird, because even the sitting area was dark (and wasn't under construction). The front desk clerk was stressed out, was expressing how difficult her night was going to be because they \"suddenly sold out, catching the manager off guard so the hotel was under staffed\". We arrived a little early, around 3:15, knowing check in was at 4:00. Instead of greeting us with a simple hello, can I help you\", she states, before we even get to the counter, that \"check in is at 4:00\". I knew that, I just wanted to see if our room was ready. This was not an issue for us. The hotel smelled like a dirty, unbathed man. And a different smell on the 3rd floor...the crazy went on and on. The renovations were not the problem. Unprofessional staff, poor management, understaffed, and it felt unclean. We typically love Holiday Inn Express and have stayed in the brand for years. Hopefully, after the renovations, this property will be back to HIE standards. But for now, I do not recommend staying here if expecting the quality of most HIE properties. And I hate leaving bad reviews. Ugh...

Took forever to get checked in and I had to use 2 credit cards because their system didn’t work. Didn’t honor my Expida pricing so I paid full price and they charged me an extra $15.00 they claimed is a convenience fee. Convenience fee for what? Nothing at this place was convenient!

The customer service is great but there are some major plumbing issues with the bathroom. Most of the time the toilets wouldn’t flush and seemed to back up. We changed rooms twice and had issues with both rooms. We talked to other guests during breakfast and the issue was widespread. Also, the breakfast was terrible. Everything was overcooked.

This is a very nice hotel, we used to love Hampton Inns, however we were extremely disappointed to find dogs in the hotel. We did not realize that Hampton is a pet friendly hotel. We feel this is disrespectful of people who do not want to coexist with animals! Who wants to go to breakfast and find animals in the dining area? Also a man came in with a large barking bulldog while we were in the dining area. Do you guarantee that only certain rooms are used for customers with pets?

Standard Hotel

It was a good stay.

As usual, American hotel \"free breakfast\" was bland and lacking.

I wish American hotels would get away from using so much paper and plastic

Noise night

Our room was in front elevator, noise all night long, bed and bed clothes looks really old and uncomfortable.
Poor acoustic isolation, we could hear conversation on apartment above us and both on sides.
We usually like HIE but was a bad experience

Great experience

Had a great experience. Very comfortable and convenient to I70. They allow pets which is great. I was a little surprised that the pet fee was $50. I don’t remember reading this on hotels.com.

Our room is roomy, clean, and comfortable. Acoustics not so good as we can hear guests below us and people in the hallway. Stayed an extra night due to poor traveling weather.

Trees unnecessary

The front trees are loaded with Magpies and their waste smells and draws flies into the building. The trees should be taken down.

Propert is new, so there is no complaints with that aspect. After check in, we noticed TV remote was missing and called into front desk. We were told that a number of them have been taken. Why haven't they charged the person renting to replace the control?! No pen or paper in the room . At breakfast, a 1/4 cup of hot water for tea. This was not remedied until just before we left the breakfast area. For Holiday Inn to charge almost half again as much as the other hotels in the area, the service needs to be better. We will not return.

Breakfast was non-existant most days. Juicer broken for 2 days, slow/limited replen and attendant didnt seem to care. Rooms were generally decent - dated but clean. Overall, this was the poorest Holiday Inn Express ive ever stayed at. Hoping it was an anomaly.

Very comfortable beds after a long drive.
Didn’t like feeling I needed to tip for breakfast when approached with a scan code on a business card. I did tip but felt like the Holiday Inn should pay their staff better. After all the only thing she did was ask if everything was ok and set the business card down. I think tipping is getting out of control but the free breakfast is why we pick Holiday Inn to other hotels.
