We have often stayed at thisTimmins hotel. The deterioration is visible and shocking. Last year on our visit to Timmins only one elevator was functioning. This year only one elevator continues to function. The working elevator was dirty. There are numerous security guards on the property at all times. The toaster at breakfast didn't work. Selection was poor. On the positive side, our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Staff was professional and helpful. What made the condition of this hotel stand out was that we stayed at Timmins Holiday Inn Express on one night followed by North Bay Holiday Inn Express the next night. What a difference! The standard in North Bay was far superior.

There wasn't fridge in my room. Power not working on the wall where the coffee maker and microwave were so obviously neither worked. When I mentioned it to Staff I was told that there wasn't anyone who could fix it. Variety at breakfast was good but it was cold. My room had an adjoining room but the doors were not sound proof so I could hear everything from the people in the other room.

We had problems with our room when we checked in. There was no bedding on the pull out couch, no phone, the TVs didn't work and the toilet flushed on it's own. Despite being very busy, the manager tried to fix everything and then moved us to a different room.

Well no one likes to be checking into a room for 250.00 and hearing the couple beside you complaining of finding bed bugs in their room, and more then one.

I was told to prepay 15 dollars for room incidentals. Why was this not part of the fees or given back after we left?

Then being told the hours the pool is open, which is one reason you stayed at this particular hotel only finding out 30 mins later there is a sign on the entrance saying it is closed due to rennovations. And you can see the clear water, the heat in the room from the heated pool, and no reason for it to be closed.

Staff were friendly.

When I went to check out I was told i could not get a receipt, because i booked through expedia.

So if you, like me needed it work expenditures be aware Holiday express, won't give or help you get it

The room was beautiful. Staff were welcoming and helpful. If I were to describe what I didnt like, I would mention the staff may have been too helpful. While sitting in the lobby I heard the desk clerk give out a room number to someone who said they had a friend staying at the hotel. I know its easy to give away that information but I would consider teaching the staff to call the room to confirm the guest is welcome. There is no elevator key card security for safety, anyone can go up. Front desk should ensure guest safety by calling the guest.

The service at the hotel was very good . Hotel next to highway....so very loud.
My biggest complaint is that I booked a room with a walk in shower because my wife just had surgery on her ankle and was on crushes. Not impressed that when we booked into Holiday Inn they had none available. NOT COOL!! NOT GOOD!! NOT IMPRESSED!!

I recently stayed at your property and feel compelled to express my disappointment with the condition of the room I was provided, especially considering the rate of $300 per night.

Upon entering the room, I noticed several issues that significantly impacted the quality of my stay:

The room appeared generally dilapidated.

The curtains and bed sheets had visible holes and stains.

The air conditioning unit rattled loudly, making it difficult to sleep.

Wallpaper was peeling from the walls.

The bathroom was not as clean as expected, and the sink was poorly positioned, leading to water constantly pooling on the counter.

For a room priced at this level, I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness, comfort, and upkeep. This experience did not align with the expectations set by your booking platform or reputation.

I hope you can understand my disappointment and kindly ask what steps can be taken to address this. I would appreciate either a partial refund or some form of compensation for the inconvenience caused.

All in all it was good except for breakfast, they ran out of white milk. I asked if they would get me some and said they wouldn't have any till tomorrow....WHAT ? I then said that this was unacceptable as there are children here who have no milk for their cereal and I have no milk for tea, what is going on here ? A big hotel chain like Holiday Inn and no milk for breakfast ? The hostess then said she'd go ask, she came back 5 minutes later with a few cartons, unbelievable I thought that I had to say something in order for the hotel to act on this ! Other than that the breakfast was fine and the stay was alright, kind of soured, so to speak. I hope this doesn't repeat for future guests !

Not the worst, not the best.

Unfortunately our stay was sub par. There were black stains in one bed, burn holes or something in the sheets of the other. The freezer was quite dirty, also leaking into the fridge. At breakfast, the pancake machine was out of order, the hot food was cold, the fridg where the yogurt and milk etc shouldve been was broken so we had to ask. It seemed the air conditioning only worked in guest rooms, there was no a/c in any common area. When I brought my concerns to the front desk, all I got was \"oh, that's unfortunate\". This was not the response I was expecting, especially after showing the photos. This place needs some work.

Centrally located, but there is really nothing to do in the DT core. Poor dining options in the area. The hotel was clean enough, but it’s in declining condition and needs modernizing. Adding a fridge, microwave, and smart TV to the standard rooms would be a good start.

The elevator is terribly noisy. The water closet is confined and i needed to stand beside the toilet to shut the door. The shower was cold and took 5 mins to warm up.

Staff were decent, but it was about a 1/2hr to check in because they messed up the booking.

The hotel has potential but there are better options in the area.

The hotel interior and rooms seem a bit dated and run down. A upgrade is needed soon. I was unfortunate and there was still leftovers in the fridge from the previous guest. The fridge was unplugged and the food “exploded “ in the fridge obviously after standing for too long. I noted this to reception. The plastic knives and forks and other items at breakfast seem wasteful…
