We have seen this place go from an old beat up motel to what it is today. The motel is very unique it has themed rooms and a very well thought out business model. They os no front desk, you get a code email to you and you check in thats iit, super easy and very convenient. Our room was huge we even had a pool table in the kitchen area. Big back patio. The room was amazing, the floors are wood and that makes everything the upstairs folks do very loud but it was not awful because they were only there to sleep then they left. I would recommend.

The room was clean and spacious. No staff at the building. It is self check in, so if you need help with anything no instructions or information on how to get assistance. Beds were very soft. Great if that works for you, was not good for us. Wanted an extra pillow and some lotion. Thought this was a hotel, but not at all.

Our suite at the Wanderlust Inn in Shore Acres, WA, was spacious, very clean, and nicely appointed. The two beds were comfortable. The TV set up was good. I appreciated the convenience of parking right outside a ground-floor room. I do prefer carpet to the wood floors in this inn. But it was a great stay right in the heart of Ocean Shores and very near the beach where we had a great time at the kite festival.

We got away in this last minute trip after my dad died suddenly. We had very few options but this motel seemed nice and the location was perfect. The motel was remodeled and it was pretty cute. The beds were moderately comfortable. The housekeeping staff made me very uncomfortable leaving my room after I saw who was accessing them to clean. There was not a door sign to decline housekeeping either. When it was time to leave, I checked my room but forgot to look under the bedding where my autistic son hid his Nintendo switch. He waited a few days to tell me where he left it. He didn’t know what the risk was in waiting to tell me and thought he would still get it back. I contacted the hotel and they told me they would let me know the next morning. They did not. A full day went by and they sent me an email in the middle of the night saying it wasn’t left there and they hope we find it.
This saddens me. If a livable wage was paid for service industry jobs, perhaps even bonus pay for finding lost items, housekeepers wouldn’t keep lost objects. My son paid for his own switch because I believe in the value of hard work. Unfortunately, he also learned another lesson, that other people cannot be trusted to do the right thing. I am saddened by the poor management of this motel.

Extremely disappointing experience and poor handling of ongoing maintenance issues during our stay.

We booked this property specifically because it advertised a full kitchen so we could cook meals during our vacation. Instead, the stove/oven repeatedly lost power during normal cooking use and became an ongoing issue throughout the trip.

The first night it happened late while we were making dinner, resulting in ruined groceries, wasted food, and no way to replace the meal because everything we attempted to go to in Ocean Shores was already closed. What should have been a relaxing vacation turned into hours of troubleshooting breakers, late-night phone calls, waiting on maintenance, and watching repair work happen inside the room during our stay.

We stayed up until around 1 AM dealing with the issue, which caused us to delay and cancel plans the following morning. Then after returning from the ocean the next day hoping to cook lunch, the exact same issue happened again almost immediately after getting back to the room.

The technician informed us the unit likely needed a new breaker and advised us to only cook one thing at a time to avoid the breaker tripping again. Despite this, the property refused to offer meaningful accommodation unless we agreed to leave early and cut our trip short.

We escalated everything through Expedia with full documentation including text messages, call logs, and maintenance photos. Maintenance issues can happen anywhere, but the lack of accounta

Everything was wonderful. The place was very clean and all amenities were more than enough. The welcome bonus was the free laundry room with washer and dryer as well as a lot of kitchen staples. The business centre was also very spacious.
Staff was very friendly even though it is a self check in but we had some questions and they were very quick to respond via text message.
We will definitely stay there again if we happen to be in the area.

This hotel is amazing. Room 4 was spotlessly clean, huge, separate bedroom with king and queen bed. Tastefully decorated, crisp white bedding, coffee maker and fridge.

Overall the room was decorated very nicely, I loved the full kitchen and the huge smart tv. The pool table was a nice addition. There were table top games in the dresser. The outdoor seating area is a good spot to smoke. The room was clean. It’s an old building remodeled — the beach is walking distance—so it’s a given that there’s this mildew smell in the rooms. We did have to clean during our stay—there’s no people on site to do housekeeping during the stay so keep that in mind. The walls are also very thin. You can hear the people above you walking and it sounds like severe stomping. People and their kids—running all day and during the night so if you’re a light sleeper keep that in mind. Also for this specific suite, you have a door in the kitchen/dinning area that looks like the front door to the hotel. People will aggressively try to open it thinking they can talk to an employee. There is writing on the door telling people that there is no front desk. That doesn’t deter some people. So if you want peace don’t choose that suite.

Cons- smell, no housekeeping, no peace

Pro- nice amenities, full kitchen, big beds, entertainment, walking distance to beach and shops, restaurants close by, dispensary walking distance

I was hesitant to book here since there is no staff on site. However my fears were unfounded. Check in was smooth (no line!!) I like being able to go straight to my room and not have to wait in line to check in. The room was clean and I love how it was decorated. Not big on amenities, but it had a coffee maker and that’s the only amenity I really care about-I’ve never used the iron or the blow dryer in a hotel. But I use the coffee maker every time. Flawless experience and great property.

The property is pretty nice. They’ve tried to upgrade it, but it’s an older building. The management was fantastic and let us check in early and even opened the pool and hot tub early. The only reason I don’t give it five stars is the floors, especially under the beds, were dirty.

I would (and plan to) stay there again, as it was easily walkable from all but one location I visited.

Only downside was damage to one of the boxsprings. There was a piece of plywood to mitigate this, but the bed was unbalanced before I figured out how to rotate it to compensate for the damage.

The king bed was very soft and not comfortable, the 2nd night I slept in the queen and it was much more comfortable. King felt like an older bed with a topper to make it more comfortable but it was way to soft and you really sunk into the bed.

We loved our stay here. Very clean, plenty of utensils for cooking. We enjoyed the pool table, the disco lights. It was raining during our stay, otherwise we would have enjoyed the fire pit for s'mores. Right next to a pizza place if you don’t want to cook. A bar next door as well. It was very clean, comfortable, and adorable. It was a ver good value and close to the areas of Olympic NP that we wanted to see. The only downside was that the walls must be thin as you could hear a lot from neighbors. I just slept with a sound machine on my phone (rain) and it solved that issue. I would definitely stay here again.

Have stayed here for years and I'm sad to say the new owners have let this gem steadily decline. All customer service is handled by people speaking broken English. Front door knob fell off when we checked in, loose tiles, clogged sink and towels smell disgusting .When we checked in they gave us the wrong information and we tried checking in the the wrong room we gave the occupants a heart attack. Been my go to place forever. No longer.

Misleading ad, made it look like a cabin style place on the beach, but was a renovated motel. However, once in the room, it was very nice, spacious and clean. Main issue was the noise from outside, tons of loud talking and traffic noise from the main road in town. About a 10 minute walk to the beach.

The room I got had vaulted ceiling with wood paneling and exposed beams. It was pretty sick. The vibe of the room was giving very much Pacific Northwest and looked premium without the price.

The only downside is that without a front desk or an actual concierge, I can’t ask about where to go for brunch or dinner, or about the surrounding area—trail to the beach, whether or not you can drive on the beach, best locations for photography, et al.

Also, please make sure your coffee makers actually work—the one I had was missing a component that actually pierces the pods. Going without coffee early in the morning without first freshening up was rough—you’re not going to catch me in my pajamas outside my room.

Still 5 stars though!

We enjoyed our stay at the Wanderlust Inn. Check in was simple, the room was well-renovated, and the beach/restaurants etc. were so close! We were able to ditch the car and walk everywhere. The room became quite warm and stuffy, so we appreciated having the fan, but A/C wouldve been better. We would stay here again, especially for the affordable price.
