I recently stayed at Grupotel Marítimo in Mallorca. While there are some strong positives, the drawbacks significantly affected my overall experience.

Pros:
The staff were exceptionally helpful and genuinely went above and beyond throughout the stay. The location is excellent — very close to the beach and easy to reach on foot. Breakfast was a standout, with a great variety of fresh, high-quality options.

Cons:
Sound insulation between rooms is extremely poor. You can clearly hear conversations and noise from neighbouring rooms, which made it difficult to relax or sleep properly.
The hotel allows smoking, and cigarette smoke regularly drifts into rooms from nearby balconies. This was a major inconvenience and made the room uncomfortable at times.

Overall:
Grupotel Marítimo offers great service, a convenient location, and a fantastic breakfast, but improvements in soundproofing and stricter controls around smoking would significantly enhance the guest experience.

The entire place smelt fresh & clean. Everyone you saw from front desk staff to the laundry team greeted you with a smile & wished you a wonderful day. It was too cold to enjoy the outside amenities but the hot tub spa we did take advantage of…nice & clean but could have been a bit warmer.
The food!!…was overwhelmingly amazing. Thank goodness we were riding as much as we did or we would have gained weight!

We had a great time on a girls' trip. Delta airlines had lost our luggage for 3 days and the staff was incredible kind and helpful with our situation. They helped with plug adapters and essentials that were needed. The hotel was clean and beautifully decorated. The breakfast has everything to get your day off to the right start.

Food was very good and offered great variety every day with different dinner themes every night. Only some desserts in the evening buffet were too industrial. Excellent breakfast. I didn't enjoy that most of the facilities are indoor (gym, spa, and restaurant are in the lower ground) as it's not very scenic. It would be nice to have an outdoor stage for shows or a proper outdoor dining area. The entire hotel was very clean. The room was good. Very attentive staff. Close to one of the best beaches with no crowd, even in peak season.

Nice clean rooms, loved having a fridge available. Good location with easy beach access. Easy airport transfer with transunion. Easy access to public transport if you want to do your own sight seeing.

Plenty of sun lounges, two pools, organised kid and adult activities.

The staff were such professionals - front of house, house keeping, grounds staff, guest activities coordinator, restaurant and bar staff. Really professional and nice, helpful, knowledgeable, talented and multi-lingual crew.

The breakfast buffet was phenomenal. Unfortunately I had to leave at 3:30am on my last day so missed the full buffet but front desk informed me they keep one chef on hand to provide for a light breakfast for guests on such occasions, which included making me eggs. I was very grateful to have eggs and toast, coffee, juice before my early flight.

Very well managed hotel. I say that because the team would not be that good without good leadership.

Also loved being able to elect to swap a few room cleans for a EUR15 bar credit.

I only have good feedback on Maritimo.

Thank you for an effortless and enjoyable stay.

friendly and welcoming staff, the swimming pools were fantastic, so was the evening entertainment. We were half-board and the food was exceptional. Loved the fact that the hotel made efforts to be eco-friendly e.g. you can ask cleaners to clean your room at a reduced frequency. This didn't dampen the quality of the hotel or it's service. Plenty of activities e.g. Aquagym and activities for children as well. I will plan to come back again!

Really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is lovely and clean, the staff are very welcoming from reception to bar staff and cleaning staff. Nice spa facility to access and the pool area there was always beds available. Couldn't thank the fun loving bar team enough. A great bunch of people.
Would definitely return.
We didn't do dining option but the snack bar serves excellent food and everything is reasonable in price.

Charged 3 euros a day for using the safe in the room. They should say this on their room details rather than surprise you when you get there.
If you want a double bed you have to ask well before you go although they don’t tell you this or give you this option when you book.
If you want to change your pool towel they charge you 3 euros.
Just seems like they are trying to make extra money where they can which is just annoying. Just include it in the room fee.

Great 4* hotel with 3 lovely pools. Lots of sun beds and no towels reserving sun beds! Have a card system which works! Food choices were very good in the buffet restaurant, themed evenings. I particularly loved the TexMex selection on ‘American night’. Great location and 5 mins. To Playa de Mouro beach. Will definitely stay here again.

Great stay though and a huge amount to like about the hotel.

This is a nice hotel whuch averaged 120 euros a night incl breakfast booked 6 months ahead. Staff helpful with planning trips. Twin beds a little awkward for couple. Bar prices good. Did eve. Buffetr twice and food v good. Ideal as we had rental car most things on islamd less than an hiurs drive away would def. Stay again. Egg chief at breakfast. Beach umbrellas free loan bit charge 3 euros a day for safe a little odd. The bus srop almost oppsite hotel for cheap transist to coast and old town. Eve entertainment mediocre bjt bar prices cheap.

The bartenders are so accommodating and friendly; they go above and beyond to meet your needs. It’s located in a great location for shopping and eating. I have to agree with all the positive reviews on the website that this, for the most part, is an excellent hotel, extremely well run and maintained. The staff work incredibly hard, are very friendly and many of them know you by name a few days into your stay. You cannot argue with the cleanliness inside and out, around the pools and in the communal areas, as well as in the rooms and there is incredible choice at breakfast and dinner. Lack of kettle and tea and coffee in the room, and the absence of free water at dinner and around the hotel would be my only criticism, and it's not enough of an issue to lower my rating.

Really lovely hotel, fantastic staff that call you by name almost immediately! Plenty of sunbeds so no mad dash needed in the morning. You get allocated a table at breakfast that is yours for your stay, with a good selection of breakfast items, particularly liked the variety of fresh fruit and the omelette/fried egg chefs, included lots of items for those with dietary needs. The Black Pig restaurant (2 min walk) is a must! Plenty of supermarkets near by and the beach is a short walk. Nightly market outside The Swan. Old Town is a 10 euro taxi, port is 15 euros although there is a bus you can jump on! Download Mallorcab app for taxis) Only cons we can find were the lack of kettle/tea/coffee in the room and we would have loved the air con to be a little stronger, but these are tiny things when the rest of the experience was so fantastic.

Location was fantastic, and it was 2 blocks away from one of the best sandy beaches. It was an average hotel, I wouldn’t consider it 4 stars. There are no toiletries in the room except a bar of soap and shampoo, not even tissue. No coffee or tea or commentary water. You have to ask the front desk for anything you might need. Also walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors.

Overall the hotel was great. I never had a problem getting a sunbed at the pool. The food was lovely, the staff were helpful and polite. My only issue was the noise in the room I was staying in. DO NOT go in room number 1! (or the ground floor for that matter). It was right next to reception, the ladies loos, and the entertainment. If the hand dryer wasn't going off, then the entertainment was literally shaking the glass door in my room from the loudness of it. The only quiet times in the evening were between 11:30/12pm and 6:30am. Not great for me.

We had a most terrible holiday at the Grupotel Maritimo hotel. We arrived late night around 11pm with an 8years kid and 8 months baby and been met by very rude receptionist Isabel. By the mistake at the booking we marked that need a baby cot, but didn’t marked that baby coming with us, so one week before holiday called to the hotel to inform about that. The lady who answered the phone said to me “we will find solution, any age kids are welcome”.
But that night receptionist Isabel didn’t want us to check -in. She was really rude and told us to leave the hotel. When I asked her if she means that our family with 8years kid and baby have to sleep in the street, she just answered YES! That’s absolutely unacceptable.
Later on , we decided to buy one more extra room just for one night cause my partner had business plans in Palma and he could sleep in company’s apartments.
Yes, our holiday were destroyed, we couldn’t stay together.
The rest 3 days all the time I felt pressure from the reception. They been asking me when we are checking-out. Two times I got a note to contact reception and again it was presure to move out. We felt very unwelcome. Even my kid felt the same.
We been overcharged for the room and for the city tax.

The staff was wonderful from when we arrived at 5am to late at night. They were always kind and helpful. Even the cleaning crew always kondly greeted us. It was wonderful they spoke good English. The property was very clean, nice, open feeling, and welcoming in atmosphere. Easy hus tranportation access, plenty of souvenir shops, places to eat, and beaches within easy walking distance. Wifi was ok and the rooms were nice and spacious with a relatively spacious bathroom and shower. The only complaint we had was the pillow provided was flat and hard. I wish I had brought my own pillow. I eould give it 4.5 stars just for that.

Fab break at an amazing hotel

From the moment we entered the hotel the excellent customer service and care started.
There are staff who are greeted by regular holiday makers there as family.
We arrived late and they had a chef make us some food which was totally above and beyond for the time we arrived.

The hotel was fabulous had loads little rooms to relax, outdoor pool, indoor pool and gym looked immaculate

The rooms are great and comfy

The food was the best we have had in any hotel we been to.
The great think about the Restaurant was you had your own table for the duration of your holiday.
So you knew exactly where to sit and not feel rushed.

The Entertainment was also amazing, Martin who has been there years, as he came and spoke to us always makes sure it’s a first class show
It didn’t disappoint, we had Carlos who is Pavarotti, George Micheal, Robbie Williams then Queen, greatest act I have ever watched
He is booked every other Monday during the peak season as he is so good and a real crowd pleaser

If you are a vegan AVOID. I told them prior to going then I told them when I arrived. I was offered mash potato but had cows milk in. Then I was offered egg noodles. I had to live on salad all week which I found to be very unfair.
Also the room was tiny. Difficult to manoeuvre around it with two cases. I won’t be going back.

Staff from the restaurant/bar was incredibly amazing, as well from the lobby, cleaning ladies were kind. The only rude and bad thing was the woman from the spa, she needs to learn how to deal with people and be more polite. I was planning to have a massage, then I walked to ask her wish time she had available, then she reply with a not so friendly face and “what do you want?”, “no time for you now”, I just walked back to my room without saying anything back. Too bad!

The hotel was clean, comfortable and quiet. Rooms were spacious and light and airy. The food was excellent - great taste and plenty of variety. Staff were friendly and helpful at all times.

Good hotel, friendly staff, although some over do it with the kids in restaurant when you just want peace to eat. Excellent air con and good wi-fi. Would expect water tea and coffee to be provided in the room for the money spent. Natalia great as kids entertainer!

Staff are friendly, good location in terms of beach, public transport and supermarket, good sized room. Strange set-up in the dining room where you are allocated a table for your entire stay and solo travellers are made to all sit in one corner of the room in a row, like kids at a wedding. Pool area not that large and next to a road.

The room is very small so beware but the views from the balcony is wonderful indeed! The only downside was assigned seating at the breakfast buffet but thats about it, Thank you for a pleasant stay nonetheless!

Restaurants and cleaning staff amazingly friendly and nice front office staff friendly but a little bit too firm. Everything very orderly and just so. Should be a little bit more relaxed about beachtowels
Front office staff should become more familiar with needs of bicyclists and bicycling opportunities
Food quality and food choices works outstanding
Should provide free water at dinner kind of cheesy that they make you pay for water
