I was there for about 10 hours. The room was just about ok. Bathroom was lacking in several respects - the shower gel bottle was empty, the bath towel was dirty.

I requested repeatedly for the menu for in-room dining and only then was it sent. The check out took the longest time due to their system issue though the room was paid and the in-room dining was paid at the time of service.

The gym is very basic with no music or working TV there. The property does not deserve to be a Holiday Inn brand.

This is not the regular holiday inn in Europe. It’s dated not very well maintained. Water seeps through the shower area, walls and furnitures are damaged but not repaired nicely. Staff are nice and goes the extra mile. It’s an average property relatively safer for solo traveller to spend night if flight lands late. I would never visit here again. It did not meet my expectations of normal holiday inn from UK.

Great location for a short stay while visiting Kolkata. Staff are very attentive and helpful. Breakfast items were great. Room was fine as expected. Only thing I would like to mention is the lack of exchanging currency at the hoyel for foreign travelers especially when all airports kiosks are shut down. Since smaller bills are needed on a daily basis since foreigners cant use G-pay either, would be thoughtful if the hotel kept some handy.

Only booked this hotel because of the absence of any Marriott hotels near the airport, and no Hilton hotels in Kolkata. Figured that an IHG hotel will have basic standards of cleanliness and amenities which will suffice for a quick stopover between flights.

This is the most pathetic 1 star lodge that has paid people to write fake reviews and managed to have a 4.6 star rating on Google from 29K people.

I checked into the hotel at 11 pm after a long flight and tiring day, and came to the room which clearly had stain marks on the bedsheets and the pillowcases were used. The toilet was dirty with toilet paper still in the toilet bowl. Absolutely no amenities - one towel for double occupancy, one toothbrush, no slippers, water bottles from a random unknown company, extremely pungent smell. It was evident that the room was given to someone else for the day because I checked in so late, and then they didn't clean the room and gave it to me again.

I had to fight with housekeeping at 11 pm in the night to get some basic amenities to allow myself to rest. They still did their best assuming that the hotel management doesn't care at all. After requesting to see the duty manager who couldn't be bothered to come up to my room after pulling this kind of nonsense, I went down to talk to this most despicable person, and I've no idea how this person is allowed to manage a hotel that is a part of IHG.

I'm still at the hotel, and I'm fairly certain I won't even dare touch the breakfast.

My wife and I have stayed here many times for short layovers. Check-in was a bit slow, but the staff are eager and helpful. The store next door was good for bringing in some outside food (due to Celiac needs). Breakfast was good, but the wait staff are a little too eager to make suggestions.

I chose to stay in this hotel due to its proximity to the Kolkata airport. The hotel is not maintained well. The room has a musty odor. The furniture tops were dirty, and sticky. The bedsheet had oil stains and hair from earlier guest. The bathroom did not have hand towels or wash cloths. The bathroom was not properly cleaned. The property looks very dated due to poor maintenance. I am giving these details as I do not want other guests plan to have a restful sleep prior to a flight like I did. Wish I had read the earlier reviews and not stayed here.

The hotel is convenient for transportation to and from the airport. The restaurant is excellent.
The check-in process takes too much time
Almost 30 minutes for a confirmed, already -paid reservation. There were ladies running around greeting the guests. Maybe they should be taught to check in the guests.
The fixtures in the bathroom were ordinary.
The view from the room was to the next building on the street. That was not our biggest complaint, through.
The bathroom didn't have hand towels.
The quality of the coffee powder in the room was abysmal.
We were pressured to give a glowing review, which we didn't appreciate.

Things I liked:
During breakfast the staff was coming to talk to you often. Food options were nice as well during breakfast.
Room service was satisfactory.
Location is close to the airport so that's convenient. However a shuttle to and from the airport would be rather helpful.

Things I didn't like:
The random security check under the taxi using a mirror and luggage scanner which was not manned while our luggage passed through it at 2 am made no sense. It just feels like a process to tick the box with no real purpose from the security staff.
Lobby doesn't suit Holiday Inn's image as there were people sleeping in the lobby (it rather looked like they had passed out after having a spirited night). During check in I was not given any information may be considering half of my family had already checked in earlier during the day. I figured out the WiFi password by myself later in the room.
Out of the 2 rooms booked one didn't have a refrigerator.
The property is among the dirtiest start rated hotels I have ever been in. The lobby, corridor the rooms all are barely \"cleaned\" to say that there is housekeeping staff and again like the security staff it just felt like they are doing their job to tick the box. I have a baby who has asthma and struggles around dust. But the rooms were dusty. The carpets were stained, the parts around the carpet had dust and gunk settled around it.
Forced to give feedback while the hotel staff was standing over my shoulder during check out.

Everything was good except the housekeeping. It was very slow. They took 2 hours to just get 2 bottles of water and after multiple phone calls. Even after paying extra surcharge for suite room, they got a thin mattress to sleep on floor for the third guest. They did find a cot and a thick mattress after multiple complaints and phone calls. I expect better treatment w.r.t housekeeping and the price I was paying for the room.

Needs a revamp!!

Located close to the aport makes for an excellent location , unfortunately location is not the only criteria and much is left to be desired for this property to be considered a hotel of even a star repute .. pictures on the site are promotional but far from the original offerings ..cold food an unkempt lobby and restaurant , damp smelling rooms and dirty bathrooms seem to be an accepted normal ..This location has a long way to go to earn its stars .

Room was not very quiet you could hear someone next to your room snoring at night had difficulty to fall sleep. Also, the room service for assistance not very efficient waited to for a bit then ended up doing things on my own mostly. Also, room card was an everyday issue even if you tell the front staff they seems to be least bothered was there for 5 nights & everyday couple of times this will happen. Ended up moving to another hotel for that reason. Good thing about my stay was breakfast & dinner included which I paid extra. Restaurant staff & cleaning staffs very polite & helpful. They checked on me almost every day that was very sweet.

Missing Butter- Holiday Inn Airport Kolkata

Surprisingly Holiday Inn didn’t provide the Butter in breakfast. When asked they kept peanut butter in front of us and asked us to manage. When refused, they said for last 2 days the Amul butter is short and gets over quickly… Ridiculous to know we were not given butter during our 2 day stay….no staff was having an answer to this …. This really compelled me to write a review….

Very Disappointing Stay

Only OK. This is a mostly negative review. Not very welcoming front desk staff, I had to settle the bill on arrival rather than departure. I had a booking that included breakfast for two people, the reception desk were not aware of this, I had to forward my email confirmation before they would accept this.
I was visiting friends in Kolkata, the reception staff would not allow any visitors to my room, stating it was policy, even if they checked the I.D, although they did allow my friend that collected me from the airport, I did manage to sneak a few visitors past them though, haha.
In Room facilities did not match the Description, most of the facilities mentioned were not present - Minibar, Iron, Ironing board, Hairdryer, Bath Robes, no welcome pack in the room. bedding was not changed during my stay, cleanliness level was just OK. No Air freshener.
Bathroom - The Water never got hot in the shower or the sink and pressure was very low especially in the Shower.
Restaurant and Bar - Limited choice at Breakfast, especially Juices, they only had mixed fruit, although Watermelon was available by request. I expected Curd to be on offer in the breakfast selections, again I had to request this.
I only ate Evening meal once and wouldn't choose to again, the Bar area adjacent to the restaurant was playing loud music, this was very distracting, especially when people kept standing in the doorway leaving the door open, making the music even louder, not a pleasant dining experience.

This place is not good to stay, even for only one night! The room smells very bad, the ceiling of the bathroom is full of fungus. It said that is a non-smoking hotel but the smell of smoke was all the time inside, I asked for a room change, but they didn’t have the same room that I payed. The restaurant bathroom was very dirty. The staff is excellent, very helpful and nice.

Holiday inn- big revamp requird

One of the priced hotels in Kolkata with lots of service issues. It is close to the airport and the IT hub which is the biggest plus.

We booked the reservation for two nights but checked in very late. Sonce we came with family, requested a good room but eventually we are provided with a worst room with issues in plumbing, bathroom, bed side lamp issue, dirty towels, faulty kettle. Reported all these and eventually moved to a new room. Coming to the breakfast, it was a good no of items but some of them did not taste well, missing salt etc. The dinner was good but against the taste of the food was very disappointing. The deserts were very nice.

Room keys get locked ramdomly. Otherwise a nice stay with some details not getting revealed.

The staff was very helpful and was bending backwards to help us. Special shout out to Alok who made the check in and checkout very smooth. They had a car which was reasonable drop us at the airport. There was some confusion about breakfast which we thought was included but Tony in the front desk took care of it. We will definitely go back there again.

I was greeted at the front door with a great staff! And my check in was easy. Due to the change in how things work at hotels now, the staff did its best to make things as nice as possible. No restaurants in the hotel are open so every meal is by room service. The food was freshly made and delicious! The service was very prompt. I would stay there again for sure. The room was clean and quite!

Once again to all the people who views this post, please avoid to stay in this hotel as the people are unprofessional. I ordered for some food in the bar and completely different food comes, I have taken a picture of it. When told that this is not ordered they told lies. A sheer unprofessionalism staffs here will kill the brand of holiday inn. I have kept all the pictures to escalate this issue , please see the photo of the guy who was playing around mischief , the entire episode was briefed to Mr Jayanto and Jamal, this incident happened on 14th March 2020

1 good thing - near the airport

I don't often do reviews - but have to on this occasion. Be careful of the price on this hotel - it was quite expensive on the Saturday, as it was fully booked. The hotel is near the airport but nothing else to recommend the area and it is under a flight path - so there are a lot of planes flying over the rooftop pool. The room was OK and the cleaners were good. The restaurant was very busy in the mornings and breakfast was repetitive - mostly asian food - though good omelettes. Service was a bit hit and miss but I can recommend one waiter - Kuntal - he deserves promoting at the very least. Everybody tried to do their best but the whole place needs sharpening up a bit - sorry... I used the pool ( cold - so quiet in December!) and the gym which was small but OK. Not much in the area apart from one shopping centre and the main part of Calcutta might as well be on another planet - hard to get to and miles away . So i'd say OK for one night if you are getting a plane

Excellent place and it’s for the staff

It’s my second stay here and both times the staff impressed me. They are extremely customer service friendly. Diki at reception was quick and ensured we could get late checkout complimentary as I was with my aging parents who had a late train to catch; Sudipta was very helpful in everything and gave extra water bottles complimentary as he felt for three people staying in a room two bottles wasn’t right; Sukanya got me a bowl of Mishti doi complimentary during breakfast as I was searching for it; Biplab helped me guide about the good sweet shops nearby and one staff in reception helped fix my dad’s Uber app verification process. It’s not the complimentary part, it’s the heart they put into the job to ensure customers love the limited stay at this place. Note, there was no dental kit in room and the TV set top box was misbehaving etc.. I mean if I have to point flaws I can keep cribbing but truth is all these are minors things.. it’s the heart, soul and human touch that a service oriented provider gives that matters most. Am a travel blogger and travel consultant, I can understand the difference. Love to the team!

I stayed there overnight. Really close to the airport (10min drive). It’s clean and comfortable. The staff is great. Free meals as well, I was offered free breakfast and dinner, if I’m unable to take dinner, they told me to have a complimentary lunch. Crazy good. I did ask them for airport pick and drop, they quoted about 14+ AUD, Uber took me for 2 AUD.
