Had an amazing stay, I don’t speak a word of Spanish and travelled alone. The staff ensured I was looked after made sure I understood them and they understood me. The service was absolutely fabulous, the rooms are great and the balcony view is why I came here and it delivered with the sounds of the waves crashing bringing serenity to my stay.
The complimentary massage also didn’t fail to please it was so on point I was upset I went on my last day as I would have gone everyday.
Overall a great little hotel with everything you need and a safe environment for alone travelers !!

I loved this hotel! Literally my favorite hotel I’ve experienced so far! I wish there were more hotels just because when I return I don’t plan to leave for the time of my stay. The food is great! Staff is great! Hotel is beautiful! On the ocean although the ocean is rough. My literal only complaint is that the stray dogs should be kept away from the beach restaurant patio seating. Apologies, I don’t hate animals, but that’s the only thing I did not like.

The hotel itself looked nice and overall clean. I frequently saw staff walking around maintaining the space, which I appreciated. The beds and crib were clean with fresh white sheets, which was a plus. However, the bathroom did not feel as clean—it felt like a completely different space. While packing up to leave, I noticed what appeared to be rodent droppings on the plastic cups provided for rinsing, which was very concerning.

The food was good, and the bar was well-equipped. That said, the service did not meet my expectations. The staff were not as friendly or welcoming as I’ve experienced at other hotels. During meals, both waiters we had were noticeably less attentive to our table compared to others, which stood out. It also took a long time for food to come out, which could be frustrating if you’re on a tighter schedule.

The room was not very toddler-friendly, as there were many breakable items, which made it stressful while staying with two young children.

Overall, the property is nice, but the hospitality fell short for me.

My reservation was three adults and a 18 months baby four people full prices total. (The baby paid full price too). The breakfast was included for the three of us but nothing for the baby which I thought it was odd but I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it. I just thought of writing it in the reviews so people would know. The place was beautiful and clean, the reason why I gave it 4stars is because of the food. The waitress were not attentive they just came with the food and drinks and that was it. Never came back to check if anything else was ok or if we wanted to order more. And over all like I said, the food wasn’t great just normal.

We are Americans and spent 9 days there during spring break with 10 & 18 year old. We had two room that overlooked the estuary rooms 43 & 44. I recommend these room however they can be a bit loud sporadically during the night because the monkey cage and aquatic birds. We love to bird watch so for us this room was ideal.

The food was overall very good. Not gourmet but it actually exceeded my expectations. No one got sick and we ate raw vegetables, but mainly fish and chicken. The breakfast was similar to any typical Central American breakfast. The service at times was slow but it was a busy holiday week. I thought there was excellent value for the price & quantity of the food. Unfortunately my Spanish didn’t get me far, but the staff did their best to communicate- Make sure you have Google Translate up. The reception and other staff were also very helpful.

The pools and beach are great. We went fishing in the estuary by contacting the front desk it’s $20 an hour for the boat and driver - which was a lot of fun. I recommend bring some retractable rods, tiny hooks, and tackle. We also took some hikes back in the nature preserves. I saw wild parrots and orioles.

I recommend doing day trips like the volcanos and going into downtown San Salvador. To break up your time

I do wish the grounds were cleaner. There is litter in the mangroves and in the nature preserve. This could easily be cleaned up.

Great hotel! Food was delicious and variety to choose from, there’s something for everyone. The staff was amazing, friendly and attentive all throughout the stay. The location once we were inside the premise felt secluded and seemed like it didn’t belong on the beach in the best way possible. Would recommend to anyone and those looking for a place relatively close to the airport, this is a great option!

We had a very enjoyable stay. The location is excellent; we had the beach to ourselves. The staff were consistently attentive and helpful, contributing to a smooth and pleasant experience throughout our visit.

The poolside service was wonderful, and the servers were very attentive. The variety of animals on the property was a unique feature that our kids especially appreciated. We also made great use of both the pools and the beach, which were clean and inviting.

One distinctive touch was the traditional room setup—they provide a box with a physical key and remotes, which adds a bit of character and a sense of stepping back in time.

Overall, this is a budget-friendly, family-oriented option that delivers good value and a welcoming atmosphere.

This was one of the most unsanitary hotels I’ve ever stayed in. There were spider webs and bugs throughout the room, which made it clear cleanliness is not a priority here. The food and drinks were also disappointing and did not meet basic expectations.

Customer service was extremely poor. Communication was difficult at the front desk, and getting assistance felt frustrating and unhelpful. On top of that, there were serious electrical issues—my iPhone 17 Pro Max took nearly 9 hours to charge, which is completely unacceptable.

Safety is also a major concern. There appears to be no real security, and the front entrance is open for anyone to walk in. I would not consider this a safe environment, especially for families or children.

Overall, this hotel failed on every level—cleanliness, service, functionality, and safety. Do not be misled by the photos. I would not recommend staying here.

beautiful view and amazing service. We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was exactly what we were looking for. It was calm and so relaxing. We enjoyed the pool and view for hours. We also had breakfast, lunch and dinner and food was delicious. Our favorite part was how kind the staff were!

This place was such a beautiful hidden gem. There are 3 pools to jump from when one got crowded, the beach next to the restaurant gave great sunset views and the hammocks in between the trees was so relaxing. We took the $10 tour which was so unique. The rooms were so big and clean too. I would definitely come back here again.

The location was extremely beautiful as were the rooms. We booked two, one bungalow for 6 people and a room for 4 with two queens beds.

The beds in the bungalow were very springy and seemed older but still a good stay.

The restaurant and 4 pools and beach were amazing. One of a kind sunsets and the food and drinks at the bar are really good and priced well for beach front views.

We will definitely be back and highly recommend buying snacks like chips, dips and sandwiches before you arrive . The food is great there but def need more snack options for on the go or for kids who wanna snack, juices, candies etc

Very relaxing resort. Plenty of pools and the staff were wonderful, however language barrier was an issue. One thing that would enhance the experience would be events at the hotel, example- līve music or shows, local craft nights, etc.. A representative to book tours would be an added bonus for customers who don’t rent a car. There is nothing nearby so if you don’t have a vehicle..after a couple days you’ve covered the whole resort and there is nothing to do. When we arrived SAL , we waited 1 1/2 hrs waiting for Christian (our shuttle driver), we had no idea what he looked like and he spoke no English. When we rented a car for the last 2days- Christian said we can just go into the terminal & get our car and no reservation required. Not true, we couldn’t get into the terminal, car agency rep had to come out and they didn’t speak any English. Luckily we had poki-fi and signed on and got car rental online. Other than language barriers- we were very pleased with the Hotel Estero Y Mar resort. It’s a beautiful resort. however if we ever go to El-Salvador again~ we’d rent a resort in La-Libertad

My family & i come here every time we travel to El Salvador. Beautiful place to stay & SOOO peaceful the staff is 100% the best & reliable. A beautiful hidden gem not too far from the airport & they connected us with someone who could pick us up at the airport his name was Andres what a beautiful soul, so genuine. I forgot the staff members name he was a server a nice man every year we go he is always attentive with everything. Every year we go back he's always so nice & remembers us the hotel staff checking you in is so pleasant & upgraded us to an ocean view when i book through expedia such an amazing establishment.

It's a beautiful property by the beach but the quality of the food is terrible, they use frozen ingredients and cans and I found piece of plastics inside of my food (inside of casamiento) and you have to drive more than half an hour to just find a regular restaurant to eat, you smell of sewer everywhere in the hotel, this smell was in my room and i feel it all 7 days of my stay, I throw up few times at the night and I wasnt able to go to bathroom because of this smell, I asked them to fix it but it was just good for few hours then you smell it again, I asked them to use a air refreshener in my room to help the smell go but they used the bug killer spray in my room and whole night I had pain in my chest and caughed and when i woke up in the morning I saw lots of dead bugs in my room that I found out it wasnt air refreshener because nobody knows English there they use app to translate, it was a terrible experince at front desk and when I was going to order food, nobody understand English and this is terrible for a hotel, lots of people that I saw staying there was local or Spanish people, I saw few tourist and I dont recomend this hotel for tourist.
When I reserved the hotel I got %20 off for Spa and I planned to use spa almost everyday but unfortunately they had no spa they said the person that do the spa is sick and she is not gonna come back in few months, then all my plan for relaxing was gone.
The staff are very nice but I dont recomend this hotel to no one.

The hotel advertises deluxe rooms as “ocean or pool view,” which it should not do; they should book rooms with different views separately, so customers can know what they would get. I sent the hotel a message with my reservation pleading for an ocean view. The hotel did not respond. When I arrived, I asked hopefully, “Do you have a room for me with ocean view?” The check-in woman responded: “Did you book on Expedia?” When I said yes, she replied “Your room has a pool view” and gave me a look I interpreted to mean “well that’s what happens when you don’t book directly.\" That makes their advertising here dishonest, if they intend to make only pool view available.
Also do not expect to get any VIP benefit offered. I booked in part because of 20% off massages. But after arriving, I asked to book a massage and was told they would not be offering massage during my stay. Another deception.
Because of these disappointments, I asked, nicely, to leave a day early and have my last night refunded. They refused, rudely.
Also do not book here if looking for a quiet place. They book a lot of large families with young children, and they do not make any of their four pools adults-only.
The place itself is nice and in a lovely (though very remote) location. Room interior fine, though not as nice as the pictures. Toilet seat loose, sole toiletry provided is a mini-shampoo tear-open packet. Good breakfast, friendly staff.

Much better than I expected! Booked almost at random, last minute. The photos looked nice so I booked. Wow was I impressed. The grounds are whimsical and interesting and my upgraded room was huge, appointed and spotless. The staff, at least one in five spoke perfect English, are attentive, always smiling and plentiful enough that whenever you turn around someone is nearby to assist. Absolutely superb weekend.

Breakfast menu was small and their omelette which I chose was not great. Folded ham and Kraft cheese inside of the egg. All the other food was great and the servers were kind. The suite we reserved was spacious with a wonderful view of the ocean. The AC stopped working in the bedroom around 2am but since we were only staying the one night we didn’t call for help. The bathrooms need exhaust fans but everything else was perfect. The property is spacious and well cared for. There are a lot of stray dogs in the restaurant area which is sad and kind of scary because of the risk of getting ticks. They offer a late check out but don’t mention that out comes with an additional charge. FYI

Hotel Estera Y Mar is 25 min from airport. Christian did transfter from and to airport. Room that we got upgraded was nice and clean. Staff is very helpfull all around the resort. Specially guys on bar/restaurant by the beach. Thank you Carlos. We loved the food, all we had was really delicious. Our favorite drink was Mojito Cubano. We had such a good time. Upon entry, the staff was very kind and accommodating given our limited Spanish skills. The check-in was seamless and the check-out the same. The room was clean and had everything we needed, as well as extra beverages and chocolates in the fridge. The view of the beach was great and was across the street in short walking distance. The hotel at night is breathtaking, great lighting and rainforest aesthetic and the pools were also clean and well-maintained. The restaurant across the street offered free breakfast with the stay and had room service as well. I would definitely recommend coming and would stay again,

The hotel has a lot of natural beauty and amazing views to the beach from the rooms. They have exotic animals on site that you can enjoy looking at while walking around the property. Many amazing places to sit and enjoy the beauty of the property. They have multiple pools where you can relax and enjoy your stay. The beach is right in front of the hotel so beach access is very easy to get to and makes it more enjoyable. They also provide a boat tour and it is enjoyable. The only thing that needs improvement is the food at the restaurant in the hotel. Breakfast is provided but could be much better. There are other close by where food is better and better price. If you want an amazing place with natural beauty this is definitely the place for you.

The property feels very family-oriented and features about five refreshing pools surrounded by plenty of trees, giving it a tropical vibe. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the staff is friendly and attentive. With the beach within walking distance and convenient showers and rinse stations to wash off sand and saltwater, the location is perfect for relaxation. I would definitely come back.

What a find. Just the most tranquil getaway for a few days. The grounds are amazing and the ocean view rooms are amazing, the view is panoramic. Quiet nights just the waves for company. Perfect. The Restaurant does some good fare but its a bit basic. There are two or three places nearby as an alternative.

I loved the ambiance and the atmosphere. So relaxing. Try the alcohol mixed drinks. The fried fish wasn’t fresh. A bit dry and the pool could have been cleaned more, other than that. I loved everything. I would also suggest going on the canoe ride.
