Evaluating quality in Chinese hotels is usually challenging, because they either are expensive upscale 5 stars or rundown 2 stars garbage, its hard to find a good average 3 stars hotel.

After the stay between 20 to 27 of October, during the Canton fair, i am confident to say that this is a 2,5 star hotel, the main problems is the cleanliness of the beds and the smell of cigarettes. The breakfast was ok to me but my family didn't liked it, there was plenty of food but most of it was Chinese.
The price of the breakfast itself was very expensive, so do not buy it separately. There was a shuttle bus to and from the fair, and a reception party that gave me water and snacks, that was nice. And plenty of toiletries in the bathroom my room.

It is also located in a central region of the city, there was a subway entrance not very far away, and it's surroundings are very dirty.
I would recommend this hotel if you like to eat Chinese food, do not mind the state of the surroundings and find it at a cheap price, it's not bad, but i think you can find something better.

This is great little hotel in a convenient location and walking distance to the river, tram line and tower. With the local markets just behind the hotel we had some yummy dumplings and great to walk thru and see the local produce and people, and wonderful massage shops close by.

The hotel can make or break your trip, This hotel has been excellent and exceeded my expectations in every aspect, few things may need improvement such as the musty smell of the room from the humidity but once you turn on the AC it will dehumidify the room and it becomes better, AC needs to be on all the time.

We really liked the Canton fair shuttle to go there, it was convenient. but coming back was a huge hassle as we never found the parking spot of the bus, but that is not the hotel's fault though.

The location is Excellent, 10 minutes walk to the Pazhou subway station, the area was amazing as it gives you the opportunity to experience how people really live in China.

The food/ complimentary breakfast, was very good, food in China was a real problem ( we cannot find good places to eat) but a good reliable start in the morning was soo helpful.

The room itself is a little on the outdated side, but still clean for China's standards, Many plugs in the room on 2 levels and it fits standard american plugs and USB.

Finally, the router is inside each duplex, which was amazing since you get a good signal all the time, I just wish it was password protected as it was a security issue, a VPN is highly recommended for both security and accessibility of google.

Staff were great for the most part, many did not speak English well -google translate helped- however many staff DID speak English very well.

I highly recommend this hotel!

I stay there for its the comfort room, easy to get around, 10mins walk to subway, easy to get taxi, also a fairly nice chinese teahouse for cantonese breakfast. The location is near to the international expo center and some attractions. Just that its located on a side road, not easy to find.

A good hotel at a great price

Staff spoke very little english. When going to China download Google's translator after it downloads be sure to download the offline core package this is a must or translator will not work after you get to China.
Nice clean room. The bed are chinese beds and a little hard but these beds make my back feel better the next morning. If you don't want to eat at hotel there's plenty of places to eat near hotel. The metro is a little bit of a walk but taxies are cheap. I liked this hotel and would stay again. The price for a stay at this hotel makes it a great place.

First room had wet floors constantly. Second room better but stairs were dangerously steep and difficult to climb. Fridge didn't work in either room. No milk or milk powder for tea and tea was Chinese tea only.

Fair hotel close to Canton fair ground

Dublex rooms are fine in a middle of a nice-set garden. Close to fairground if you are visiting some exibition and you care about time. Do not hesitate to ask for help if you need any, the staf is very helpful and freindly, hotel manager is always available and on the spot. I had problems with food, not familier with Chinese, it would be nice if more food veriety available. I did not use TV, all channels are Chinese. Laundry available, but little expensive. Many resturents are nearby, most are Chinese, but you can find some pizza, KFC is about 10 min walk. I used metro for transportation, only 5 in walk from hotel, and then you can go to any place in the city fast and cheap. Many banks also close, a Walmart store is also 5 min walk. Hotel provieds free transportation to fairground by suttle bus.

The room is just ok. However the conditions of the hotel or around the hotel are really a mess. It's getting really muddy and dirty during raining season, especially bad for us when we have to walk for a distance on muddy road from the lobby to our room. No one there to help us carry the luggage. The main road to the hotel is small, old and under terrible condition. Taxi can't park in front of the hotel because it's an old narrow busy road. We have had hard time to get a taxi all the time. Wifi was not working at all.

Room with bad maintenance

After check in, they took us to the room#1502. I refused to accept because the bath area was so dark. There was only one light for the mirror area.

Then they offered us the room #2702. I gone nuts on the first night! Right after finishing shower, I found out the shower room fan can not be turned off. It runs all night.

Then, moved again to room #1807. This one is beter but the head light(on the ceiling) on the other bed is bad and we ended to call the maintenance to replace the bulb.

There is no SOP in this hotel. The room cleaner should follow the SOP to check the room after he/ she finishing the room cleanness.

You better to handcuff me for second visit!

not so good (1) the breakfast did not vary at all and there was little choice for a westerner. (2) it is a bit of a trek to get to the subway. (3) no English language tv channels.

We were visiting guangzhou for the second time for canton fair, so we planned to book this hotel as we were very happy the last time we stayed here and also we didn't want to take any chance with a new hotel as we were staying for 10 days. Hotel Provides a Shuttle to canton and back to hotel, if you want you can also take a metro from kechun station to canton(Pazhou station) which is close by to the hotel approx 700-800 mtrs. The staff was very co-operative and courteous throughout our stay. Language is an issue in Guangzhou but the staff was able to understand what we were trying to say and speak moderate level of english. We booked a Duplex Suit, Beds are on the Upper Floor and Lower Floor is your Sitting Area. There is good amount of plantation and open area throughout the hotel so you would feel like relaxed and calm after your busy day. On the way to Ketchun station you can find couple of local shopping Malls. There's one place which is in open and has got various restaurants and Beer cafe and a VR Gamming lounge.

I would also recommend to install both Baidu Translation & Google Translation App to get around Guangzhou as people don't understand any other language at all even english.

I satisfied when my friend visit me.
However, I dissatisfied the breakfast arrangements. Those receptionists did not know the breakfast was included. I needed to show the booking confirmation to him when I checked in. After that, he said OK. However, I couldn't have breakfast when I went to restaurant. I needed to go to reception and showed the confirmation to receptionist again. Then, he called the agency to ask the breakfast arrangement. I felt trouble.
At the last, we could have breakfast but it was not good.
Overall, hotel is good except breakfast.

I stayed at this hotel in 6 nights. The hotel is clean. Nice view. I can see the Canton tower from my room ( so great). Staff is nice. I did not enjoy much foods here but the food is also delicious.
Staff also help us find more information about local restaurant, help us carry our things to take taxi...etc...
I had a problem with my phone. I forgot my phone on the taxi. Staff tried their best to help me find it. That is my lucky. Once again, thank you very much for support from staffs.
I will introduce my friends to this hotel. This is my choice when I come to Guangzhou again.

This hotel is at best a 2 star hotel by chines standard and 1 star western standard ,
If you need to use internet you need to spend more than 1 hour to connect and send just one email,
forget a bout browsing , you can get 10 min connection per hour at best ,most of time after midnight internet is total down ,they IT work 10 AM to 6 PM , I did stay 4 night ,I did need IT every day for wifi connection ,
every room have and small $2 wifi modom
also hotel is very old it was 4 star 20 years a go , management use cheapest martial they could use ,
to save on drapes ,they make carton smaller than window .light will come in at all time

Excellent hotel - south side of river in Guangzhou

This is an interesting hotel with the modest entrance concealing a large property with a variety of accommodations, restaurant facilities and tranquility inside. Though showing a little wear, it was comfortable and modern; everything worked well - though WiFi connection strength seemed to wane at times. I liked the hustle and bustle of the business streets nearby including the market stalls immediately adjacent. I would stay here again and be confident to recommend the hotel to others. The restaurants' menus and ambiance (especially outdoors) were a plus and reasonably priced. Next time I will book a room with breakfast included.

Hotel location was good, maybe 10mins walk from Kecun subway station. A local market right outside and restaurants in the area.

There always seems to mosquitoes in the room but as someone who is usually singled out by them, I didn't get any bites.

I found the towels and linens needed to be changed since there were tears. One of the pillows also had a tear and the sand leaked out.

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and managed to scrape up some english to address our concerns regarding places to go and late check-out.

We had difficulty locating the hotel as we rely on google map and turns out, the location in indicated by google map is wrong. After a few hours going around the area, some locals helped us and we managed to find the hotel. The hotel is clean and the staff were nice and friendly although they can't speak English.

the only disadvantge is that, hotel is far from Metro station and you need to walk around 1 km. But there are always Scooters in front of hotel, you can pay 5 RMB to get at the MTR in a sec. The hotel was nice in general, with an Asian style breakfast but you can still have smth there if you do not like heavy breakfasts.

The hotel itself is very nice with a restaurant and a bar and small massage center onsite. It was a little difficult to find even when I had a Chinese person from Guangzhou helping me to find it. The reception staff seemed to speak well and I did not have any trouble checking in or out. The room I was in had a good view of Canton tower which was beautifully lite up at night.

Good for purpose

I wanted a hotel that was near enough and affordable to attend Canton Fair. This met both criteria. I was very impressed with the business rooms which are neat little village behind main building. awesome room compared to what I expected. Food was good enough. Shuttle to Fair was a big plus. Rate was pretty good. location is kinda in nowhereland. you can walk around and see a lot of truly local markets as it does not appear to be tourist area. my one huge beef is that practically no spoke any English. whether it was business services, front desk etc.

Good for Canton Fair but not for anything else.

This motel is a nice spot. We had the two storey rooms with Bed upstairs. The garden area is nice. The staff do try to get it happening but like all of China, it is trying sometimes. Happy with the FREE shuttle to the Trade Fair ( this helps a lot). If you want to go shopping you will have to catch a Taxi or use the subway. We would stay here again.

I booked a hotel trough expedia, when I arrived they said the do not have the kind of room that i check, so they put me in room 1508, with no window, the said they will change me they never did it. Nobody speaks a word in english, i tried to make a local call and the Service Manager told me that the phones where broken, they did not wanted to give me the breakfast coupon, it was a fight every day,the area is simply horrible, no place to go walking, simpli the worst experience, i forgot my perfume in the bathroom, because i change to another hoteland they said the did not understand. It SUCKS!!!! Please do not do it!!!!

The front desk staff are slow, ignorant and rude. Even though they speak english, they say the minimal amount of words to make you go away. They are slow for check in and check out, taking more than 20 minutes each, just standing there, with the clerk having a blank look on his face and not saying anything. we booked what was supposed to be a SUPERIOR suite.... superior to what? Our room was small and didn't even have a window! The service at the restaurant was not much better. waited 1.5 hours for food, even after our original selections were out of stock --- twice. The area this hotel is in isnt very clean. No restaraunts around except the hotel restaurant.

Bed was sunken in the middle and squeeking as if it was going to fall apart. Avoid the 2 storey units. I almost slipped since the stairs were very steep. Hotel surroundings is very sketchy. Aircon was fine. Wifi was fast. Breakfast was less than good.

A Great Getaway

I am a foreigner living outside of Guangzhou and I have stayed at this hotel a few times to escape the dirtiness, rudeness, uncomfortable, and non-homey feel of China. The beds here are super comfortable, the room size is perfect, the hot water in the shower is so relaxing, and the staff (especially the young boys who work in the \"western style\" restaurant) are super friendly and kind. This hotel is incredible for the dirt cheap price I have paid for it through Expedia. I would not stay anywhere else in Guangzhou.

Did what it says on the tin. Clean, comfortable, reasonably priced. Shuttle bus to Canton Fair complex. Wireless internet in room worked. Would happily stay there again. If you're happy to jump on the metro then it's easy to get around Guangzhou for around 30p a single journey.

Not a bad place to stay

I stayed there for 4 nights. The room was neat and comfortable. Attendants seemed nice and willing to help. Only few of the workers spoke English and I had some difficulties communicating with them. You also have to know that the location of this hotel is not as close to Baiyun Airport as stated in Hotel.com, although the there were many stores and shopping complexes nearby. I will recommend this hotel.

A good option for business travellers

Room is perfectly fine, as the promo description says. I could not really locate any English channels on TV though. There is Wi-fi, a mini-bar and complimentary toileteries and bottled water provided. There also is room service from a restaurant but never tried it. They provided an iron board on request. They took a 300 CNY deposit for my stay of four nights. Bed is comfortable, and my room had a couple of windows overlooking some apartments [ nothing great].

The immediate area of the hotel is a bit down-market, but the subway/metro station is about a 10 min walk, and the route to the subway is full of malls, restaurants and supermarkets including KFC, McDonalds, 7-11, Starbucks etc etc...hence found it convenient to travel around the city from here.

Nice hotel, but odd in a way

First, the English standard at this hotel is not good. Cantonese is barely spoken, so best with just mandarin.
Hotel may be difficult to find for the first time. The surrounding neighbourhood isn't good, the pavement stops and you need to walk along the road and dodge the motorcycles and cars. No exaggeration.
The bakery shop and restaurant were closed for most part, and main part of hotel just 1 lift.

Nice garden setting

2 storey apartment with bedroom upstairs and lounge room and bathroom down stairs. Small garden courtyard at front door with table and chairs. Very small bathroom but clean with plenty of hot water. Tv in bedroom and lounge room. The food served in the restaurant is the worst I have ever seen.

Best value for money for the trade fair

Got a really nice upgrade to the villa like room, it was perfect! Location was a easy cab ride to the fair. Really enjoy the short stay. Great great value!

10 min walk from to metro train stations. Breakfast not good.
Location is not bad.
House keeping does not know how to clean.I think you can get better for the price

Pretty small superior room but clean and quiet.

This is a small hotel. If you are expecting a luxury stay, don't stay here. Around 15mins walk from the metro station, and the Guangzhou Tower is insight. The nebourhood is not very nice. You can tell that the hotel is transformed from the local houses. But the Chinese restaurant and the bar in the hotel is kind of nice.

Convenient for the Canton Fair

The idea of dual level rooms sounds fun, but the bathroom being on the ground level and bedroom on the upper level soon gets tedious. The stairs are precarious in the dark. The only other complaint on the room was the noisy air conditioning. It was too hot to switch it off, so slept with earplugs. Even they didn't drown it out completely, it was that loud! The rooms are clean, and the bed is comfortable. My sink was leaking so I had maintenance fix it, which they did very quickly. Unfortunately the engineer left my door open until I got back later that evening, which was annoying and a security concern. Luckily nothing had been taken. I complained and received a bowl of fruit and a personal apology from the engineer, which was a nice gesture. Several shuttle buses to the canton fair are supplied, which coupled with the 10 minute journey makes this an ideal hotel for canton fair visitors. This hotel has the feel of a holiday resort with the rooms being bungalows with mezzanine bedrooms, and front gardens with tables and chairs. The outdoor dining area and bar add to this atmosphere. I didn't try the western restaurant other than for breakfast, which had toast, eggs etc available for those who don’t like eastern cuisine first thing. I did eat in the Chinese restaurant, and although the food was fine, the restaurant itself seemed rundown and dirty. Finally wifi is available throughout the hotel, albeit slow. Cabled connection in the room itself was fine.

Generally, it is good, nice hotel, nice service. Except the WIFI, it mentioned on Hotel.COM, but the hotel said only available at the hotel lobby and they are fixing the power of the wifi equiment for rooms. And breakfast is so so. not too good and not too bad, with bread, fried noodles, boiled eggs, coffee, soy bean drinks, fried potatoes....

Pleasant stay.

For a short focused stay such as attending the Canton Fair, it is a good value for it is relatively close to the Pazhou Exhibition Center and you save in traffic time. None of the staff spoke English or anything else than Chinese but everybody tried and that is very most appreciated. By westernized standards, it is not luxury but very comfortable. It is well maintained and clean. Many units are 2 levels with a little terrasse, great for tourists and families. There are safes in the rooms but there are not bolted so be careful. The hotel is also very close to a local market and perfect for great pictures. Good value.

Convenient

It takes approx. 15 minutes walk from Kecun Metro D Exit to hotel. The advantage of hotel: offers free shuttle bus from hotel to Canton Fair and reverse. The breakfast is okay, but the seats are limited.There's a local market nearby the hotel and looks dirty all around.

교통편이나 아침식사 그리고 룸의 크기등은 아주 좋았어요. 그런데 방에서 바퀴벌레가 나와서 기겁을 했습니다. 룸관리에 신경을 써야 할 것 같습니다.
