Great resort for families. Kind staff and good service. Historic location. Needs improvement in certain areas: beach needs to be cleaned up in front of the resort - lots of garbage around left by public and the resort isn’t cleaning properly; kids pool, which our kids loved playing in because of the slides, could use a lot more trees around. Way too much cement and large empty unused areas of cement make the area around the pool several degrees hotter and could easily be improved by planting a few more trees; games room need upgrading - old, broken ping pong and foosball tables; restaurant service was inconsistent - sometimes great, other times was not; coffee should be provided in the room every morning and not just the first morning (especially in a country that produces so much coffee). Overall we had a very good visit, largely because the kids had a great time, but could have been made much better with just a little bit more effort.

We decided to eat lunch a la carte and waited an hour for our meals even though we ordered at 2pm on a sunday after the “lunch rush”. We ordered five plates and the taste was below our expectations for the cost and wait. When I told a supervisor they said this was the standard.
The piña coladas were so bland and just tasteless. The property and pool look dated as well as the bed mattresses squeak as you move. There are limited beach chairs on the beach. I do not plan on ever returning or referring the place.

This resort is a great place to enjoy quality time with family. However, it could benefit from offering more entertainment and fun activities for all age groups. Honduras is a beautiful country, and the resort has a great opportunity to highlight its rich culture and traditions. Incorporating cultural experiences such as Punta dancing and historical storytelling would greatly enhance the experience for visitors and help promote local heritage.
The food quality could also be improved, with a greater variety of dishes to suit different tastes. Additionally, the pricing seems quite high—charging L489 for a basic breakfast feels excessive, especially when similar meals can be found for around L200 elsewhere.
Overall, while the country and location are beautiful, the resort needs further development and better promotion to truly shine and attract more international visitors.

The beachfront location is great and the staff are super nice. The property grounds are definitely in dire need of repair and maintenance but the beachfront location is excellent for a quick weekend gateway.

Tuvimos un problema con la habitación 696 existe una gran posibilidad de que hubiera chinches, sufrimos piquetes en todo el cuerpo durante los primeros 3 dias, mi esposa 29 ronchas y yo 102, de predominio en la espalda, brazos y pecho. De las 9 personas que viajamos solo nosotros 2 las presentamos.
Cabe señalar que ambos somos médicos y sabemos identificar las características de las lesiones, tanto en morfologia, localización , y en modo de aparición. Después de la segunda noche no salimos del hotel ni a la playa ni a la alberca por miedo, y aun así se presentaron mas ronchas en la siguiente mañana.
Expusimos la situación en la recepción y nos cambiaron de habitación a la 692 por las siguientes 2 noches y no presentamos más problemas ni nuevas ronchas a pesar de haber salido de nuevo a la playa y a la alberca.
Hubo empatia con algunas personas del personal, pero de algunas otras no, estuvieron muy escepticas y negaron toda posibilidad de que hubiera ocurrido algo semejante.
Solicito se haga una investigación exhaustiva de la habitación por personal calificado en fumigaciones para que identifiquen y traten el problema,asi como que se me informe oportunamente del dictamen obtenido por la empresa de fumigaciones por escrito para que tomemos las acciones necesarias para nuestra salud.
Tambien que tengan presente que lo ocurrido nos echó a perder nuestras vacaciones,por lo que solicito se nos de un reembolso al menos de 3 noches en las que sufrimos picaduras.

For an old hotel, not bad
There are good and not so good things about Telamar Resort. The bad, it's dated. And can be improved. Stayed 3 nights. The guards were stern but friendly, as they should be. The front desk personnel, Samuel, was fantastic. We stayed in the resort rooms near the pool. We had the garden view, and that was perfect. Quiet, lush, and green. Coffee in the morning on the terrace was lovely.
We asked for daily housekeeping (you get a choice at check in) but we didn't get it until our second day. No house phones in rooms, so if we needed change of towels or extra, we had to go to the front desk in another building. Even then, we could not get the extra towel (there were four of us but only three towels), as the front desk said housekeeping would bring it. Nope. We were fortunate to find a housekeeper in the building, and she kindly accommodated us.
The rooms being dated is not an issue. It was the duvet cover that was questionable. It was musty smelling, and I could only use the top sheet as a blanket. One of the beds (nearer to the toilet) had lost its spring that when you sleep on it, it feels as you could slide out of the bed in your sleep. The bathtub does not drain well. Four people showering one after another made it....interesting..
Loved that there was a refrigerator, coffee facilities, hairdryer, and safe. Beds were comfortable enough, but pillows (at least in our room) were great for side sleepers but not back sleepers. Too firm and high. One pillow per person.

I was overcharged at the bar because their Internet had went out during the transaction and they kept arguing it didn’t charge when Indeed it came out twice. I booked two rooms and only got one when i got to the hotel, also they didn’t offer any solution until midnight when i obviously was already too late. The hotel staff said they would file a report and make a refund.

Rooms are very outdated, poor service, very low the area around the pool and the restaurant and limited choices for dinning.

The resort accomodated our change request to stay one day less than we had planned. However we did have to contact a few people and the process was complicated to get this done. Nevertheless the resort was empty and entertainment was ok given the circumstances.
The food was good and the drinks were small.

We waited 30 minutes to be able to get into the room.
Once the room was ready. It had a very strong smell to chemicals. We left the doors opened but the smell did not go away.
The is beautiful and the slides as well. I think it needs a little more cleaning with vacuum as you can see very dark spot, specially close to the bar. Also, the pool urgently needs a layer of new materia, under the water it was very scratchy when is suppose to be smooth. The water sprinklers needs a water pressure as well, there is a a lot of molding growing in there.
On the hood side, I felt very safe in this hotel. They is security in the perimeter. All the staff was very polite. We were able to leave our luggage in the hotel even before the 3 PM. The hotels is huge. You can walk around or have a run in the beach.
The pool design was amazing. The water flow is continuous, the grading from the shallow to the deepest was very well done and I would feel very safe to let my kids swing around. That pool is huge.
