There’s no justification for not communication that the property is under renovations. The property was like an obstacle course and a crime scene, with every corner roped off. Holiday Inn and Expedia need to provide better communication through booking process. Will not consider either of these companies on my next trip.

We stayed for one night. The staff at check in were very friendly and informative. Our room was very clean. My family was had a comfortable and warm sleep. The breakfast we had in the morning was good as well. Staff made sure everything was well stocked and replenished items in a timely manner. The selection of food items was great. There was something for everyone in my family. Checkout was a smooth and easy process. Staff at checkout were very friendly as well. Would definitely return to this location in the future.

This property is very run down and noisy. They were not accommodating with being off 1st floor. Our shower didn't properly work-broken. They never tried to fix and they left trash and dirty towels a full day-we had to request they clean it.

The suite was spacious including more of a kitchen area to work with during the week stay. The included breakfast was standard but good and convenient . A/c worked great. All room standard amenities were available and adequate. Staff was nice. The internet connection is the one issue I had which limited use of streaming services and remote work tasks. Thankfully I was able to use an alternative wifi option for work tasks part of the time in the room. Also there's always a certain odor or musk (maybe carpet cleaner or air sanitizer of sorts) in non-newer hotel rooms with carpet or cloth furniture that isn't horrible but not ideal and tends to permeate clothing etc. I'd stay there again if needed.

Check in was quick and easy. We stayed here for a football game at Prairie View A&M.The beds were a little lumpy, but I slept well and appreciated the two kids of pillows offered (soft/firm). The bathroom was stocked with all Dove products. The in room coffee bar was stocked with everything needed for cup of coffee to go. I didn’t try the breakfast buffet, but I did see some of the pastries offered, and they looked tasty. I would recommend this stay to anyone looking for a close, clean, and convenient option.

There were bed bugs, on the bed. We had to move rooms. We were then put into #1108.
There AGAIN were bed bugs on the floor ALOT of them. Previous reviews also stated this hotel has bed bugs. I had to ck out and get a refund, there were no other hotels with rooms, as this was the weekend parents dropped their kids at college. Luckily, my mom had also got a room and we were able to stay in her RM. Did not see any in RM 1111. The mgr/owner didnt seem to care and said if they were here someone brought them. Mind you, we JUST got off the plane and do not have bed bugs in my home. Shame on Hotels.com for hosting this hotel. As many have told you this hotel has bed bugs

At check in we were greeted by a very friendly staff. Went straight to our room to drop off our bags. Hallways, and main lobby were very clean. All looked in good order. Went to the restroom in our suite and it was filthy. I was going to just let it go thinking it was old but then I found a pile of hair on the bathroom floor and that did it for me. When we left for the evening I mentioned that our bathroom might have missed getting cleaned between guests. The one gal at the office just said “oh no” while a man just replied “we will take care of it”. Not sure it was taken care of or cleaned but the pile hair was gone when we got back and some towels rearranged. Your guess is as good as mine at what got cleaned. The breakfast was ok. My kids were happy. We were in town for baseball and picked this motel based off reviews. After spending time in the room to look around: walls were filthy. Ceilings were filthy. How does that happen? Just a solid layer of filth. I wore my shoes in the room. The only thing that seemed clean was the bed sheets. Thank goodness. AC rattled all night. Room was muggy and I feel like it probably has mold. Our friends stayed here as well and they said their room was fine. So maybe just the suites need help.

Not a very good experience.

This was a horrible experience. I stayed here on business. We arrived that night, exhausted and the smell in the room was bad, we were so exhausted we attempted to deal with it untill the morning but even with a sheet over my head I was gagging the entire night and barely felt rested the next morning for my training. I contacted the front desk about the unbearable stench in the room and she assured me she would move us to another room later that afternoon. After training I checked back and was moved to a cleaner room, she even let me walk in to it to see if it was acceptable and sure enough there were no foul scents. I was ready for a well-rested night in our new room and everything was great until I was rudely awakened at 4:00 a.m. by someone drilling into what sounded like the walls or flooring. Needless to say, I did not get one night of rest in this place. The smell of cigarettes, rotten food and sewer in the first room was completely unbearable and having maintenance work in other rooms in the wee hours of the morning as guests are sleeping is absurd. The young lady at the front desk was a sweetheart, and that's the best thing about this place. She was very helpful. Unfortunately,when I come back on business I will not be staying here again.

My unfortunate experience 6/11/25

My family was excited for trip. Unfortunately that was ruined because malfunctioning door keys, light in original room was out and what made the worst was the domestic disturbance that was taking place right next door. The staff wasn't the friendliness and I hope it wasn't because of the color of our skin. I love the hotel brand but this experience makes me not want to book here again.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and while the location was extremely convenient (just four minutes from my event), the overall experience was underwhelming for the price.

The check-in process was smooth and efficient, which I appreciated. However, the hallways on the second floor had a strong, distinctive odor that was hard to ignore, and unfortunately, my room had a similar issue. It smelled musty, almost like there was mold in the walls.

The shower water never got very hot, the pressure was low, and the temperature didn't stay warm for long. Additionally, despite setting the air conditioner to a low temperature and high fan speed, the room remained humid, making it uncomfortable.

If someone chooses to stay here, I'd recommend bringing an air purifier or something to help with the air quality. I haven't stayed at other hotels in Waller, so I can't compare, but if I revisit the area, I will likely opt to drive a little farther for better accommodation.

Overall, I'd rate this hotel 2 to 3 stars.

Don’t waste your money

We had reservations but the man at the front desk had us and our friends who also had reservations waiting for 20-30 minutes. When we finally got irritated we were being ignored he stated he had more important things to do than check us in. The elevator was broke and there were teenagers running around well after quiet hours and nothing was being done. When checking out I walked up to the desk for them to look irritated that I was there and the breakfast that they advertised was “not available” that day. When we asked to speak to a manager since we were irritated we were told to call customer service but the number he gave us was a disconnected number. The room was very clean though!

Left my phone at the hotel, came back for it to be told by the housekeeping that it wasn’t there and having the evidence in front of their face with using the Find My iPhone app and then reporting to the manager and then all of a sudden It was miraculously found. I don’t trust the housekeeping I would not recommend.

What the hell?.

The elevator was out of service. I had to take the stairs to the 2nd floor to get to the 3rd floor where my room was. Room 316. I had knee surgery which made it difficult going up with luggage. The tub would not hold water. We had to wait until 3:00pm to check in but no towels. The air conditioner and telephone did not work in the room. This was the worst service that I have ever received and I come here every year for the festival.

They would not give me a receipt because I booked with a third party (hotels.com). They charged me $40.00 for an incidentals fee which I have never ever been charged staying at a Holiday Inn/Express. They would not give me a receipt for this either. They said it would be sent back to my card but it would take 3-5 days. They should have been able to give me something reflecting everything they said. I wont stay there again!!

I got attacked by Bed Bugs. I have pictures and videos of the bugs and the welts they left on me. The staff was unbothered and offered me another room…. No thank you. We packed up and left. Im not sure how this hotel got good reviews. The furniture in the room (chair and bench) was filthy dirty. You could see the black grimy dirt.I had to request the sheets and comforter be changed because of stains. Housekeeping went thru 3 comforters before finding one with no stains. The toilet had to be flushed twice or else what was flushed would come back. It looked like housekeeping only cleaned the tub but never touched the wall in the shower. It looked like there was dried up wax slashes on the walls too. I have never stayed at a Holiday Express this nasty. We should have slept in our car. I would not recommend. And to have the nerve to charge almost $200/night absolutely overpriced. No grocery stores or nice restaurant chains. Have no plans of coming back here.
