How to make your hotel guests unhappy:

1) When they check in, make them stand there filling out useless papers.
I previously booked the room on Expedia. But when I checked in, they handed me a little card and told me to fill it out with name, address, phone, etc. Why? All of that information is ALREADY filled out in Expedia. This isn't the 1980s any more!

2) Phone the guests' room in the morning, just to see if they're in there.
When I woke up and answered the phone, they didn't say anything at all. Guess they just felt like giving us an unwanted wake-up call. Three hours before checkout time. Here's a tip: If your guests haven't checked out yet, and it's not checkout time yet, then YES, they are still in their room!

bait and switch hotel

Reverse, seeing the photos of the hotel on the website. It looks nice. And looks clean and looks comfortable. It also looked like there was breakfast. Had all the machines and abilities to do so, but they do not serve breakfast. They do not unlock the door and add it to it. Whenever you get there they will sit there and discuss with you about finalizing your payment and as soon as you have payment done by car. And he accepts the room's where it is paid for he then afterwards will pull out a paper slip for you to find out and charge you an extra $50. For a security deposit people myself being homeless? I spent every penny that I was able to acquire that day on that room online. So whenever I got there and was charged for the feet of the room and then after my money was taken, then I was asked for a security deposit towards it. Now, if I was to ask for my money back. It would take 7 business to 10 business days. And I would be screwed on having a place to stay for the night and be back in my car again. Overnight sweating, no shower. All that stuff horrible I was on The Verge of an anxiety attack.
But after a little trade was given for the.
Security deposit which the trade was worth much more than the deposit. And then put us in a room with a bunch of broken items that I fixed myself to make sure that whenever he went through, I could get my volleyball's back.There was always attitude.I would walk up to the window and I would push the button for to get service and he would

Well, for starters, he issued me a card and I was locked out of my room three times which caused a major inconvenience and couldn’t go into the room for 30 minutes or so and then also the faucet in the bathroom area water would barely run and this Spicket or faucet in the bathroom was barely hanging on, so it’s definitely need some repairs and work done

Our stay was an overnight stay in Hempstead the room was in fair condition and cleaned but I did wipe it down myself, The problem we had was the people above us they got really noisy about 10:00 at night I couldn't take it anymore so I called front desk about 10:40 they did call them because about 10 minutes later they did get quiet but although they did get up about five the next morning being noisy again until they checked out, we got up and left about 8:00 am. But overall it was an okay hotel.

It was terrible. At check in, the lady at the desk was not really friendly or give any information on anything. During the middle of night my husband had to bang on the ceiling to get the people upstairs to quit stomping around. The man in the room next to us was snoring so loud it sounded like he was in the room with us. My husband couldn’t take it anymore and went to sleep in our truck.
The furniture in the room was old and broken. The bathroom door frame looked like it had been kicked in. The towels and wash cloths were see through and looked dirty.

We were treated as if we were prisoners here. The owner of the hotel just walked into our room uninvited. They talked down to us as if we were stupid. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE. I specifically asked for an ADA room but didn't get one. At check in, the lady said they don't have those type of rooms. The owners walk around and stare at people. Several people said they'll never stay here again and neither will I. And if Hotels.com doesn't start reviewing these places then I will start using another service.

Perfect hotel and accommodations. I had my bike with me for a Saturday morning ride (Pedaling the Prairie). At check-in staff was able to put me in a ground floor room. Plenty of fast food options nearby. Will definitely stay here next time I need a Hempstead hotel.

The walkup check-in window is out-doors---not good when checking in at night--especially for women. Need walk-in lobby to check in/register. The room was clean. However the bed was extremely hard and lumpy feeling the springs. Pillows were flat flat flat. Constantly heard walking from second floor and thumping noise from ceiling and walls. Other than the bed and constant noise (thin walls/ceiling), I'll book again but will bring my personal head and body pillows for sleeping plus earplugs. Staff very pleasant and efficient with check-in and check-out.

I had read some reviews saying there were bugs so I truly looked for them. None found. Room was mostly clean. Staff was kind. Price was great. Bed was ok. Walls are thin. Overall not bad. Be prepared for the weather at check-in you are outside.

Staff was absolutely great. The facilities are old and the jets in the room tub were an orange mold. When we explained we were just not interested in staying after seeing the jacuzzi jets, we were offered other options but were accommodated nicely with our refund without making us feel bad for our decision to not stay there. Give this place a chance, like I said, the staff was doing everything they could to make it a pleasant stay, we just chose to drive closer to home that night instead of waiting.

The door lock did not work. We had to go to the lobby, which was a bell you rang and the individual came to the window were you stood outside. Then they had to come and unlock the room door. The room was dated and the nightstand was broken. It had an unfunctional refrigerator left in the room. In general it made me feel a little unsettled and insecure.

The floors were dirty, the pillows still had makeup on them, pink lipstick and tan skin tone foundation, streaks of black on the others and it couldn't be seen but nearly clear stains. The counters where dusty and the shower heads had calcium buildup, not cleaned. The water smells like pools water which is just piss and chemicals. The staff are nice but the rooms are gross. No bugs, no bedbugs but we were so paranoid we slept above the sheets. Overall a terrible experience I would not want to repeat.

I find it utterly ridiculous that the lobby is closed due to COVID-19. In my honest opinion it says the owners do not want to serve their customers on a personal level. It also tells me that they are cheap. Also it was a little irritating that when I checked in I had to give my credit card again, even though I had paid for my reservation online. It was also irritating how long it took to check in.

The main office was closed to the public “due to covid” so we had to check in through a little window. The woman who checked us in seemed like we were a inconvenience to here just by being there. We asked her if there was breakfast since it said there was online and she just pointed to the office closed sign and said “no”. We got our keys and went to go unload our items into our room. The room didn’t look or smell bad until we started opening drawers and discovered at least 30 cockroaches combined so that was gross and off putting. If there would’ve been another hotel nearby we would’ve stayed there instead but this was a last minute booking. Overall, do NOT stay here unless you’re fine with having roaches for roommates.

He was pushing me off that he would credit it back to me on my credit card and that he wasn't understanding what I was saying and told me basically to leave.There was urine in the toilet when I got there.The office was just unhelpful and rude

Hotel is in need of many updates! Furniture is very scratched up and stained. There was a very big stain on headboard of the bed in the room I stayed. Bathroom was in desperate need of new grouting/caulking around bathtub. There was also no coffee in room, even though there was a coffee maker. Had to call the front desk and then had to go get it myself. No staff offered to bring it to the room.

I got to this hotel later than I usually check-in to places. I guess still due to covid precautions, I could not go inside to check-in. Had to check-in through window in drive through area of front of hotel...it was a very \"cold\" experience overall.

Didn't do my homework and look at reviews, like I usually do before I book a hotel. Guess I got what I paid for. Thankfully, it was just a one night stay and I will remember it for the next time I am in that area to avoid it.

Attendant kept asking if I really needed 2 beds. I assured him that I did, but he still asked again. Room key was deactivated the second day, so I had to get with the attendant to fix the issue. Huge waste of money

Upon arrival the lobby area was locked and all check-in had to be done thru a window. The linens and towels were all stained yellow, brown, black stains. Beds were small and mattresses were only about 6 inches thick with no support like sleeping on a couch. TV only had a few basic cable channels unlike advertised. The next day we tried using the pool but it was pad locked and water looked filthy... There was no breakfast whatsoever as advertised. We stayed 2 nights and housekeeping never came by the entire stay. We expected to at the very least come back to the room the second night to fresh towels and empty trash bin. This is a $30 motel at best no where near the $175 for 2 nights that we paid. If we had known the pool was not open we would have drove 10 miles to the next one since it was 99 degrees for those 2 days.

There was a blood stain on shower curtain. Stained towels and wash clothes. Card did not unlock door. Staff was very nice though she couldn’t give me my money back since we were there less than an hour and my husband was called to work. Not her fault but they could’ve done better.

The showers leak out and when i was GB oing to sit down on the chair to eat, im so glad my son noticed but the chair wasnt in good condition and the table was broken. It didnt have 1 of the legs that hold it so they had pushed agaisnt the wall. Very dangerous specially with kids.

I should have known from the moment that I checked in that this stay wouldn't be good. The biggest question that the manager/owner at the front desk wanted to know was what time I was leaving the next day. Upon entering the room, we noticed that the couch was covered in nasty stains, the bed's headboard was worn...like somebody's head had hit it over and over again in the same spot, rubbing off the stain. Every surface appeared to have been wiped down with a dirty rag. The lamp shade was so old and cracked you could touch it and it crumbled and broke beneath your fingers. Of the two tubes of shampoo and sad little bar of waxy soap that was left on the bathroom counter, one tube had been used and was leaking. Whoever cleaned the room must have been trying to beat their personal best because there's no way someone spent more than 5 minutes in that room! When I checked out and complained about the condition of the room, the same manager/owner seemed flabbergasted that I would think the room was in poor condition. Do yourself a favor...stay somewhere else!

It was priced fairly and rooms were clean so all in all I was pleased with my
Stay. The only downside to me was the walls to the outside and interior walls between adjoining guess room could use some sound batt insulation to prevent noise from transferring into adjacent rooms. I could hear the conversation from the guess next door and any conversation from the outside walking by the exterior facing guess room door.
