When we book the stay we booked as an all Inclusive, yet when we got there there was only 2 restaurants that we could access. The first meal we attempted to get they were out of almost everything. Very little variety. Was told after we checked in that the hotel would be torn down in two week. In order to make the stay enjoyable we had to upgrade to an adjacent hotel for $600. Room was small and Dirty. The mini bar was filled once and we were told that the service was a one time only fill, even though it was and all inclusive.

This was our third time staying at Sunscape. It was noticeable different from the two previous stays..

The rooms were the same as the other times. The beds are a full size, not at all comfortable.

Only two restaurants to dine at now. In the past it was three. Both are not always open at the same time. Long wait times for dinner and multiple times ran out of food. It was cold many times coming out or on the buffet. Wait times after ordering were long.
Lunch is now a buffet, with cold food on it. Multiple people in our group got the fish at the buffet it was raw. The cheese sauce at lunch was orange water, so runny.
There is no longer anyone offering to bring you drinks on the beach. Room refrigerator is only filled on first day now, if at all. We had three rooms only one had been filled. When we asked the front desk they said it is only filled once now. Two rooms had decent ac but the other did not work correctly. Went to front desk multiple times throughout each day. Was finally moved to a new room on the third day of complaining.

Beach chairs really need upgraded. Most are broken and not enough of them with guests from Dreams and Secrets having access to them. Our drivers said they were trying to do away with Sunscape and extend the other expensive resorts.

The only redeeming quality of this hotel is the beach access. Rooms advertised as beach view and beach front are so close to the ocean.

Dear [Hotel Management/Customer Service],
I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with my recent stay at Sunscape Sabor to seek resolution regarding several issues I encountered during my visit.
Upon checking into my room on the 3rd floor, I found it in unacceptable condition. The door had a significant gap, allowing bugs to enter, and the sheets were covered in hair, suggesting they had not been changed. The bathroom floor was dirty, with dead bugs and grime present. I have attached photos for your reference.
After raising these concerns, I was moved to a different room on the 1st floor, which unfortunately did not meet my expectations either. The window did not lock, the temperature was uncomfortably hot, and there was a pervasive musty odor. Consequently, I refused to accept this room.
Despite this situation, I was charged $300 to relocate to the Dream Hotel, which was immensely better in terms of quality and cleanliness. The overall experience at Sunscape Sabor has been the worst I have ever encountered at a resort.
Additionally, I was disappointed with the food and beverage options. The drinks at the Sunscape café did not meet the expectations of an all-inclusive experience, as they were lacking in alcohol, and the cleanliness of the cups and glasses was questionable.
Given the numerous issues and the overall negative experience, I kindly request a partial refund for the amount paid during my stay. I believe this would be a fair resolution considering.

We have stayed here many times but this will probably be our last. At check in we were informed that all of the restaurants were no longer included but we could do a timeshare presentation for an upgrade fee and have access. The pier access has gone from $5 per person per day to $10 per person per day. We had a malfunctioning toilet and fridge. It took 2 requests to get them to come look at them. The fridge was replaced at 11 pm. The toilet was not fixed. The handle had to be jiggled to get it to shut off and it squeels with each flush for 30 seconds. The service at the restaurant very slow and we often did not get a beverage until after our food arrived. Sometimes taking multiple requests or walking over to the bar to get water and a coke Menu selections were limited and some menu selections were not available and it was still early during the meal time. We had one bright light during our stay. Yuriana was amazing. She was very positive with the guests and guinely happy. She met and exceeded our expectations during the 2 meals that she served us. She is truly a bright light.

If your looking for night clubs not here,
If your looking to be entertained not here.

I needed a rest from the busy day to day stresses. This was where I needed to be. The food was excellant there was 5 of us and I only ever ate the same thing twice in the 14 days we were there.
The Staff go out of there way to accommodate you.

I have read some negative comments here. And I met a few people who wouldn’t have been happy no matter the conveniences.

Like I said if your looking to have full relaxation then choose this resort.

We were pleasantly surprised with our last-minute stay. The beach is beautiful and the snorkeling quite good! The bed was super comfortable in the room was very clean. Such a short distance from the room to the ocean! That was awesome, especially for my elderly mom :-)

The property could use some cosmetic updates.
The food was just mediocre, which was a little bit of a bummer, but it was OK. The bar service and the drinks were exceptional. The staff are super friendly. The best part about this property is the location and if they could just up the food quality a little bit, it would be perfect!

We love this property, as it’s smaller, yet has all we need and the best beach in Cozumel. This was our 2nd yr at the resort, stayed 12 nts. Our food choices this yr were cut down by 2 restaurants, so food was nothing to write home about, but just fine. Sadly our bldg was a bit in disrepair, outside missing lights and inside a few broken items. Though we are easy and didn’t sweat the small stuff. Drinks are fabulous, spa was amazing!! Snorkeling right off the beach is amazing, staff is awesome. Love, love Dana with activities!! Taught my husband some Spanish! Purchased an excursion from the concierge and it was great! Can’t wait to come back, though we are hoping they fix some things.

First let me say everyone was very friendly. After a long travel day we just wanted to get to our room but at check in we were told we had to speak with this other person....a sales person that kept on and on about touring and wanted to up sale us to the connecting resorts and would NOT take no for an answer until my husband starting getting ill. When got to the room it wasnt bad, but there was a horrible odor in the bathroom.. no biggie we would deal with it. Very nice view from walkout and was excited to be right next to a beach bar. 😁 only to find out the bar literly straight off of our patio was off limits. It belongs to Dreams. And all their guest were taking the chairs on \"our side\". The room air conditioner worked good but made a loud baning noise that made it impossible to sleep, even with a pillow over my head. I discussed with the front desk afyer night one and was told they would look into it.....nothing. The fridge was stocked when we got there. 2 cokes, 1 diet coke 4 beers, 2 orange sodas and water. We only drink coke and diet coke asked to switch them out or get more coke/diet coke, that was a no because it's only \"stocked\" on day 1. Not 1 of the ice machines on the property worked, you had to go to the bar to get ice. Our last day was our 40th wedding anniversary and we just wanted a quiet meal that night so I asked if to get a plate from one of the 2 restaurants to take to the room..answer.. no ma'am. Needless to say this was our 1st and last stay here.

The Sunscape was run down. The mini fridge was rusted and gross. The beds need to be replaced. They hurt our backs. There was no room service. Only 2 restaurants and one night both had an hour plus wait. They wouldn’t allow us to take any food back to our room.

Paid $520 to move to secrets next door.

My biggest issue with this resort is the food. No flavor, no selection, bland, repetitive and just not good at all. And no back up anything if you did not care for it. The only good thing I can say is the breakfast is ok. Make sure you fill up on that. Always a wait for any meal and wait staff is definitely not enough for the amount of people eating ever. Wait to order and then bring all courses out super fast. Portions are TINY!!
Reyes and Antonio (morning waiters)were a ray of sunshine in this experience, and I enjoyed sitting in their section.

My toilet screamed after flushing and was not fixed during stay lol, pretty annoying but worked.

NOT ENOUGH CHAIRS BY POOL OR BEACH EVERY SINGLE DAY. If you don’t “claim a chair by 7 or so you are out of luck!!
Beach was amazing so take your chances on everything else.

My room was in a neglected building furthest from the lobby, 25. The exterior of the building was neglected, moldy and peeling paint. I am surprised the door entry worked as it was completely weathered. Inside smelled musty, there was mold, dirty floors, broken bedside lamp, no washcloths, conditioner. The mattress was hard as a rock. And the worse part was when I untucked the bed and found a dirty mattress full of holes. Disgusting and unacceptable!! No response from the front desk. My girlfriend’s room ac was leaking, an actual puddle on the floor. This is how the room was delivered to her and all they did was give her towels to clean it up herself!! She was in the same building down an unlit path behind the back and all the things lacking. Response to her was “this isn’t dreams we don’t have bath robes.” Horrible!! Do not stay here!! Hyatt should be ashamed!!! And it wasn’t cheap.

I can say nothing positive about this hotel. We booked a one night stay after a flight cancellation after staying in adjoining sister Hyatt property. This hotel was expensive and upon arrival into room the air conditioner unit had flooded the room. We had to clean up the mess ourselves. Bell staff just walked away. Room was in horrible condition. No hangars, no wash clothes, no bath mats, no hair dryer, no conditioner. Chipped paint everywhere, mold in room and walkway to room. No coffee maker. Speaking electric outlets, unplugged refrigerator. It is the motel 6 of all inclusive properties. Room is absolutely disgusting. Management must address our concerns and concessions must be offered as this property is beyond unacceptable.

Heydey, Aaron, and the rest of the entertainment team were awesome. Heydey is one of our favorites! It was my son's 16th birthday and they made him feel special. This was our 5th time here and there have been many changes. One of my favorite things was eating breakfast at what is now Dreams, it was a bummer we could not eat there. This rule should be altered. This was our 6th time to the Island and 3rd time at Sabor, unfortunately it has gone down hill drastically to the point that we had to report over a dozen issues. We will not stay at Sunscapes next trip, period.
Hamlet Castillo was fantastic and the highlight of the property, saving our family vacation by upgrading us to Dreams for a few last days of the trip. (where we will stay next time)

Todo fue de la mejor calidad por el precio, el staff podría ser un poco más atento pero tampoco son groseros, la comida es algo repetitiva pero de buen sabor y calidad, la única queja real que tengo es que las personas de ama de llaves abrieron la puerta de mi cuarto sin invitación a pasar en dos ocasiones sin importarles que haya dejado el ticket de privacidad y la ultima vez mi esposa y yo estábamos cambiándonos y en ropa interior cuando abrió la puerta, creo que deben capacitar de mejor manera a su staff de ama de llaves en cuanto a la privacidad del huésped, pero todo lo demás excelente.

The resort was nice and the rooms were clean.
The AC was amazing and we had a ceiling fan which I loved! The food options were limited and basically the same every day. I’m a picky eater but I found some things to get me through the week.
The waiter, Miguel, in the Mexican restaurant was amazing and went out of his way to make fresh pico for my mom. The beach was nice and our room was 50’ from the beach and the bar and the pool. It was perfect for our group for a budget friendly price.

This was my second time coming to a his resort! Loved the closeness of everything, beach, pool dining, bar! Staff is amazing super friendly and very kind. They got to know each of us. I highly recommend the spa! Hydro therapy and full massage was out of this world! Was bummed by the food options, but you get what you paid for. Property is an older place, the pool was nice, the view from our room was nice, I think we had some sort of bugs bitting my husband and I on our bed because we woke up with bites a few times, but my kids on the other bed were fine. They asked for our room number anytime we entered the property so we felt safe. The water from the shower and sink had an odor. The staff was all amazing, super nice, sweet, helpful and attentive to all needs. This was definitely a budget friendly resort, the food was ok nothing fancy, the drinks were good, they only had 1 brand of beer and limited liquor options but bar tenders were great.

I was really disappointed w the property. I feel it was short staffed and the dining area is way too small to host the amount of guests for the staff they had. Wish they had more activities over the weekend. One of the rooms we had- didn’t have a knob for the shower. The other the door battery died and it took 5 times to get someone out to replace the battery. There are two ping pong tables, 1 out by lobby, other in youth room- and if you’re not a youth you can’t use the youth room (even though it’s empty! And the outside one is being used by youth) makes no sense. The employees are hard workers, but they need to be better staffed especially seeing their sister properties.
Half the time there weren’t enough towels either
The breakfast was delicious- and staff again was nice, but need more.

The staff was very nice. The food was very limited but other than breakfast, what we ate was good. Breakfast at the buffet was not good at all. Very limited, bread was stale and hard, sausage was cut up hot dogs. Our room was clean and the a/c worked very well. Our balcony door did not lock, our tv remote did not work and there weren’t controls on tv, we had to ask for our minibar to be refilled and although we were all inclusive they said they would only bring water, no more soda.
The keycard to our room took at least 20 seconds to activate the lock and that was with moving the card in every possible direction before it would open.
However, the staff was very nice and the entertainment staff tried very hard to involve everyone and provide entertainment.
Everything was very clean and the pool was nice and well maintained.

Overall it wasn’t the worst resort. The majority of the staff were great. Check in: We arrived at 1, our room was not ready until a little after 4. The people at the front desk weren’t very helpful on checking status of room. The room was ok, it was small compared to other resorts we have stayed in. Housekeeping was not the greatest, all the did was pretty much make the beds and change towels for clean ones. It didn’t look like they did any actual cleaning (bathroom, sweeping). The food was ok, they had the same menu every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner there wasn’t much variety.

Upon arrival I have no complaints. Everyone super friendly and very welcoming. After that nothing was the same. Very limited options with places to eat. They would run out of food, plates and that was it. They would not make more food. Online it said room service was available, and they told us to download an app to make it easier. No where on the app was that option available. The bakery limited us to 2 pastry’s per person. The hostesses at restaurants all had attitudes and did not like the fact that we had a party of 7. It was always and inconvenience to ask for a big table. Lastly we were told that it was Secrets, Sunscape, and another resort. Well sunnscape could not go to other resorts and order food. However we saw multiple people from those other resorts at Sunscape eating and there was no problem at all. Which I don’t think there should be. However how is it possible for only Sunscape to struggle with additional wait time, and no food services from the other resorts. Really disappointed in the resort.

Well, this place is not what you would expect from an all inclusive. One pool only, two restaurants which are very small and food runs out quick, no room service, door to our room wouldn’t close, water in room smelled really bad, AC had to get fixed, bed was worse the county Jail one, staff was ok. Definitely will not be coming back. Cozumel is awesome but DO NOT STAY AT SUNSET SABOR COZUMEL! everything is so old and out dated. TVs in rooms are 24 inch with only 4-5 channels working.

Arrived and greeted by friendly staff, but our needs were not met as the integrity of our door was not addressed. Our keys didn’t work, even after reprogramming…we easily could bypass the card reader by using a credit card to swipe the lock. When brought to the staffs attention, they admitted sometimes they have to bypass the card reader. They replaced the card reader batteries, which helped but didn’t give us the confidence we liked for our stay.

Bakery didn’t have much inventory and guests are limited 2 baked goods per person. Restaurant waits were long and not convenient. Sunscape restaurants were filled with guests from other resorts; yet Sunscape guests are not allowed on other resort sites.

I wish there was more access across all resorts (ie pool/drinks), especially when we have to share our restaurants and bars. Sunscape guests are the ones who suffer with extended wait times.

Not much to eat for an all enclusive but other than that it’s great place to stay. Will need taxi or car to get to main part of the island to shop or go to restaurants.

It’s ok. Nothing to brag about. Food is limited. Same small limited menu at supper and the same thing every night. No top shelf liquor. No restock fridge everyday, but the guy that cleaned our room hooked us up. So eat hamburgers between 12:30 -4:30 and don’t eat supper lol.

The staff did not seem too happy to work there especially the bartenders, no personality. The food was mediocre at best would not stay there again. I asked the front Dess to fix the air conditioning was not fixed, nor did I get a response from maintenance

The overall experience was bad. The service was terrible at the restaurants - it was slow and did not see the waiters more than once while dinning. The waiters were not cordial and seldom smile. No room service, no pool service, no beach service. The policies at the restaurant were inconsistent depending who was host or captain, such as dress attire and possibility of combining tables to accommodate our large group. The food was almost decent and if there was no buffet the portions were very small. I can go on and on but the bottom line is you need new management and a overhaul on the buildings.

I liked the Sunscape Sabor resort however, our room could have been cleaner. The bathroom sink continued to back up, when I reported it twice no one came to fix it! The courtesy, friendliness, and professional conduct of the staff was great. The language barrier caused communication problems. The resort should have more to do for adults especially at night. The band, dance show and karaoke was great! Too short. For adults to continue enjoying the night life you have to leave the resort! We really enjoyed karaoke but it ended after only an hour! 😌 The band was great and we were dancing but it also ended after only an hour! 😟
The connecting resorts that are sister resorts didn’t have night life for adults either. If they did we were not aware.
Lastly, the 90 minute, which turned into TWO hour session of soliciting guest go buy an expensive membership was not a good thing! It was deceitful, trickery how we were solicited at the airport thinking we were just getting van service to the resort. Though the perks were not bad, I’m not sure it was worth TWO hours of sending several people to convince my husband and I after we respectfully said “No we can’t afford it”

Have been going to Sunscape for over 15 years. They have given it a much needed renovation. Rooms and AC are fantastic
Dining options are not the best though. Since we had the grand kids we were severely limited. As we always prefer the all inclusive aspect and in previous visits we had four different options. Now there is only 1 full time cafe with limited seating and long wait lines. The other option was for evening only. Staff was good but eating options left alot to be desired. There are other restaurants on the same footprint, one is NO KIDS at all and the other you have to purchase meals. So much for the all inclusive

For starters, is not all inclusive. If you want more sodas or alcoholic beverages in you fridge you need to pay for it, I called at least 5 times to let them know my fridge wasn't working and never got fixed, they didn't clean my room one day,just a few employees were helpful. Definitely never going back to this hotel.

I gave this resort a 4 star rating for several reasons. First, the full court press for the time share presentation was annoying. Now this in no way takes away from the beautiful beach! Second, I wish the menus included more seafood options considering how close the resort was/is to the sea. But this does not take away from the amazing service I received from the staff. Everyone was so nice, friendly and polite. They were so patient with me as I practiced my Espanol.

The trip was beautiful, the rooms were ok, but we didn't stay to hang out in the room. The pool and Ocean were great, local wildlife was everywhere. Cozumel is a small island town so everything shuts down early. If you are looking for wild nightlife stay in Cancun.

The resort was extremely safe, family friendly activities, good dining options with an amazing breakfast buffet. Bottled water is brought daily…however I do recommend bringing your own sunscreen as the gift shop is very pricey. I ran out and had to purchase more in the gift shop and it was approx $43USD.

My kids had a wonderful time, pool was great along with ATV rides and snorkeling. Coffee shop has the best coffee.
