Right from the check-in till our check-out everything was 11 out of 10. There was a surprise welcome for us with a cake and decoration in the room. The staff were exceedingly welcoming and helpful. Room was large with an excellent view all kinds of modern amenities. Complimentary access to lounge and cocktails were provided. The dinner was good but the breakfast was excellent with wide variety of choices. Food catering to all tastes were available. We were really spoilt for choice. Definitely recommended.

Good stay for staycation

Everything was good.Facility is well maintained and staffs are very courteous. Only drawback would be if the bar counter by the pool has a permanent server all the time for drinks and taking food orders. Rest from the rooms to the breakfast, all was good. Special thanks to Sugam at the front desk who made the check in fast and easy.

Amazing stay with the best pool

I was visiting with my family and the stay was amazing. Special thanks to Mr Sugam at the front desk who made our checkin absolutely fast and hassle free. Our requests were also honoured and for that we are grateful. The room provided had a stunning view of the skyline and all the staff members at these property are extremely helpful and attentive. Food is also good, would suggest if they could include some soft drinks with the buffet. And finally coming to the pool, it's probably one of the best maintained in the city right now. Very clean and big enough for everyone to enjoy. The stay was wholesome. Thanks Sugam.

I didn't enjoy my stay. When I checked in the A/C wasn't working. I wanted to order water from delivery app, they said I have to go downstairs to pick it up (they had bottles of water packed inhouse, which I did not trust). When I wanted to buy bottled mineral water the morning I was leaving for the airport at 4:30am they said the entire hotel ran out of bottled water. When I said that's quite surprising if they can't find a single bottle. Then they said it's chargeable and found a bottle. It's a shame if they think a platinum elite member is worried about paying for a bottle of water. I don't expect that from a Marriott brand. They need to train their employees to work in a brand like Marriott.

1) when we arrive at the restaurant at 10:00 pm, the luggage deliver guy stepped in the elevator with us and convinced us not to go to the food but allow him to drop of the luggage in the room before we move for dinner especially when he knows the restaurant is going to close.
2) dinning area food is not separated from veg to non-veg
3) night tables are dirty in the room, toilets have stains, bathroom are not clean
4) front desk is not very communicative with rest of the staff when we request to pass on the message
I would say very poor overall

Good top end hotel albeit rather a way out of Kolkata city centre in an area with little to do but convenient for airport. Recommend Club rooms for good quality lounge access and free airport transfer. Rooms well looked after with good cleaning staff, less so around pool area where difficult to get a drink before 1pm as staff still clearing up from night before despite residents trying to relax

For check in even at 3 pm we were compelled to wait for more than 1 hour so after 4 pm we got room .
Furthermore they declined the plan we booked and even after talking to the hotels .con service team on the phone they were not accepting the rules . It was very disgusting for us .

The minute you enter the hotel the lovely fragrance is a prelude to things to come.
The staff is friendly, kind , helpful and welcoming. Our room was spacious and well appointed. The restaurant had an extensive buffet or an al a crate menu. Either choice was extremely satisfying. The popl and gym were amazing. The gym clean and well equipped. The pool was the perfect temperature ( a little cool at first) but a delightful escape from the hot weather.
If you have the opportunity, please stay at the Westin… you will be so happy did .

This is a nice hotel and what you would expect from the brand. You get a luxury experience at a very good price. When I checked into this hotel, I had a problem with the cleanliness of my bathroom. But the hotel rectified it straight away and several members of management apologized. I also paid for half-board at the hotel, which included breakfast and dinner. The buffets for each meal were quite expansive and catered to multicultural tastes. Wherever in the world you are traveling from, you will find suitable food. I enjoyed the Indian dishes but the buffet offered other cuisines as well. The hotel is far from the city center, so you will need a taxi or an Uber to get into the heart of the city. And Kolkata traffic is atrocious, especially during the late afternoon and early evening. You should factor that into your plans. Overall, very good value for the price.

Comfortable and convenient hotel. The hotel is a Westin high rise and felt like Westins around the world. Everything worked. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was very good. Room was good size and I slept well. Bathroom was great. Location is convenient relative to airport and Salt Lake. Cleanliness is adequate but not exceptional and there were some minor rough edges here and there.

My one-night stay at Westin Kolkata was exceptional. The hotel's ambiance was elegant, and the staff was incredibly hospitable especially Shruti Pandey (Front Office), providing top-notch service from check-in to check-out. She made sure the room was immaculate, offering a blend of comfort and luxury. The amenities were fantastic, especially the fitness center and the pool area. The dining experience was delightful, with a wide array of delicious options. Overall, my stay was nothing short of outstanding, and I'd highly recommend Westin Kolkata for a memorable and comfortable stay.

The Westin is a luxury Hotel with all amenities. The affluent locals use the restaurant because of it's excellent food and variety of dishes available. The most exceptional thing about the Westin is its courteous and attentive staff. They couldn't have been kinder and we felt we made friends. The property is 5 stars, but the service is maybe 2. The staff is really unprofessional - when we checked in, the receptionist made a big deal with changing the card on file. We were there for three days, but the staff left us 2 rolls of toilet paper and we had to find the room service cart on a different floor to get more after calling and asking multiple times. Many small things also added up - I had to prove, for example, that my swimming trunks were in fact swimming trunks and not cotton pants. Although there were numerous staff in the lobby, nobody ever held the door open for us while we were moving luggage. We asked to do laundry and also for the cost, but they took our clothes without specifying and charged us an exorbitant amount in cash without providing us with a physical copy of the bill - again we had to force the receptionist to print us a copy. Overall, a fairly poor stay - the only bright spot was the food.

From the start, this was a disappointing stay. We had a terrible check-in wherein the property charged us extra for our child, though our booking already included the child. Here, we would like to appreciate the effort put in by Expedia in clarifying & resolving the issue. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out as the property wasn’t supportive. During the stay, we found the bath tub needed maintenance intervention before it could be used. Also, the housekeeping too wasn’t regular. Overall, the staff behaviour too wasn’t friendly. We did discuss this with a few managers & a chef. They showed a lot of understanding and were quite supportive. In the end, the overall experience, unfortunately, was far below our expectations.

Getting back it’s pre-Covid mojo

I stayed at Westin Kolkata both pre and post Covid19. There is definitely a difference in terms of overall maintenance of the hotel. It’s getting back on track now and that’s pleasing. The 10th floor restaurant’s food and staff are amazing - all of them!
Reception area needs to get back it’s old mojo and you can see the effort being put in. Unfortunately some of the chaos in the reception area is caused by guests who feel entitled as they are in a 5* hotel but that aside the reception does need a refurbishment.
Communications between reception and concierge MUST improve. It’s broken (more than once for us).
Overall staff are nice, courteous and helpful! I will recommend this place.

Check in took so long it was ridiculous. Tried to give me a smaller room than the one I paid for. When I finally got to the room I expected, the sofa was so stained I wouldn’t sit on it. Housekeeping removed it and brought two clean chairs. Very good happy hour…free drinks which was just what I needed after the horrendous check in.
