The bridge to go on the island made it really beautiful. A good carpenter and garden expert would make that place a 5 starts.
I loved the fact that it was very quiet. The breakfast is delicious and satisfying. Eating with a view to the riverand the view was splendid

The situation of the property is beautiful on a tiny island, but the bridge to get there was so narrow, I don't think a big SUV could get by without a scratch.
The worst thing was the front desk girl, who was dressed very slovenly, and when we told her we'd be a little late she said that the front desk closed at 7:00 (or whenever - I can't remember now.)
So we drove about 90 mph to get there. As we came huffing and puffing in, fearful the door would be locked, she airily told us that the front door is always unlocked and that she left our check-in sheet in our room.
It would have been nice to have been told that when we called!
The pools were filthy and the grounds were just very unkempt. I believe the \"resort fee\" was $38, but we were not interested in swimming or using the steam or sauna, so I was glad she did not charge us.
The TV was the worst we've ever had to deal with.
There were no instructions at all. It took at least 15 minutes, maybe even 30 to figure it out
We strolled around the grounds and were astonished at what a mess they are. Several boards have been replaced on the front porch and ramp. Everything needs a good coat of paint.

The one thing that i wasnt thrilled about was no handsoap in the bathroom, or soap for the shower.
The breakfast was average, and I was expecting a meat choice with the eggs. The coffee was not great.
The young woman at the front desk didnt seem to onterested in service either.
I will give it another chance in future when I'm back in the area and I hope to receive better value for the money spent.

THe comfort of the bed was excellent though.

Bonjour. Nous sommes contents de notre séjour, mais nous n'avons pas utilisé le spa, donc je ne peux pas donner mon commentaire là-dessus. Le déjeuner nous a plu, c'était très bien et la salle a manger est propre spacieuse avec musique relaxante. Le plus grand plus de l'hôtel c'est le travail extradinaire de la femme de chambre. Tout est très propre, blanche et c'est un confort agréable. Veuillez former par contre les réceptionnistes pour faire un meilleur accueil, expliquer plus, donner de l'info, au départ se renseigner si tout s'est bien passé... C'est le seul bémol mais c'est important.

not what was advertised,,,deposit required more than than room charge,,,room in basement, all ammenities showed are all extra $$$ -no foods allowed even if you are on special diet and special meals. we requested refund as not staying and was refer to expedia for refund, no business card available to contact owner,,, receptionnist seem to have no ideas on anythings except run credit card on terminal,,, Left message to get contacted but nothings so far,,,,so i must assume got rip off of full charge....this is a money grab establissement.

It’s a shame that they do not take better care of the property, everywhere you looked something was broken or about to break. Very quiet site and could be very peaceful but organisation of the work that needs to be done destroys it. The hot pools where still getting filled up when site was open, making 1 of them cool instead of hot, they came and clean a quiet area while we where in it. They are trying to improve the place, but too little effort and investment. Not worth it for the price

The hotel could not find my reservation at my arrival. They didn't honor it even that I showed them the Orbitz confirmation email.
I had to pay for the same room for much more.
The communication with Orbitz took me over an hour and half.
The whole experience was stressful and disappointing.

We booked in this hotel for three days. We arrived at 3pm at the L'Oasis de l'Île, Refuge Urbain, and check-in wasn't till 4pm (though the room was ready). I informed the front desk that we had been driving for 7 hours, and if the room was ready, could we possibly check in early. They told us it would cost CAD 20/hour if we wanted to check in early. It was a bit of a struggle to get checked in, and finally, after 30 minutes, they said ok. When we got our keys, the front desk informed us that the room would be in the basement because we paid the standard rate (economical). The window in the room is on the same level as the ground, making the room dark and claustrophobic, which isn't on the website. The biggest disappointment was when we discovered the restaurant would close from Sunday at 3 pm and reopen on Wednesday.
We decided to check out the next day since one of the perks was the restaurant. It's a hotel; they should at least keep the restaurant open.

The property is located in a beautiful island, the building and spa have its charm and it is picturesque.

They already have all the facilities to succeed. What is missing is customer service.

Lack of information while on check in. Staff assumes we know the hotel ant have been here 30 times before. For instance the spa closes at 9 pm and it is the main attraction of the hotel, but the restaurant close at 8 pm, we get out of the spa and had to go to bed hungry! Nobody told us that the resto closes 1 hour before the spa!

If you promote yourself as a \"Health Spa\", it is not a good idea to let your customers sleep hungry.

When we asked about options for food the staff just told us \"just get uber eats\". Mmnnnkay

There is a small keurig coffee maker in the room with two K-cups in the first night, I asked the attendand for one extra coffee, she hesitated but gave it to me. Next morning they brought breakfast to the room without a coffee pot, so I said \"we are missing the coffee\" and to my surprise she replied \"Oh, I gave it to you yesterday!)

I was so amazed by the silliness of the situation that I just replied \"mmnkay\" lol. Man, it is a K-cup, it cost 30 cents, just put two in the tray, dont be so cheap! Or even charge me the 30 cents lol

Bringing a breakfast with no coffee? That is a first.

About cleanliness, they say they clean the Spa daily, but there was a cloth napkin on a chair in a very visible place for 2 days, so I highly doubt the cleanliness of the spa

The room was in the basement and a terrible smell was dominant which make us stay all the time out not in the room.
I was shocked with the dust every where in the room.
Spider web over around the night lamp.
In general I don't believe that the room was cleaned properly.

Need to try again for an objective opinion

Though the Covid circumstances made some things unavailable, that didn't have an impact on the quality of my stay. When I got to my room, it was not well cleaned, and some parts were in need of renovating. The staff were much too eager to meet my needs during my three day stay, which didn't make it the most restful... I had hoped to get some work done and get some peace and quiet and respite from all the Covid stress and turbulence at the time, but it did not work out that way.

Overall, I was disappointed but don't hold the Covid limitations against this place (the spa and resort grounds being closed). I would like to give this place another try when everything is up an running.

A little escape during a business trip

I stayed on October 17, this was my second time returning to the hotel following a wonderful stay in September. Both times were for business trips. This hotel has a lot of charm and I enjoy staying here.

The room was clean, the furniture is old, but matches the feel of the hotel. The customer service exceptional. I was in room 201, which is above the bistro. My only complaint is that you could hear a lot of footsteps starting at around 5:30 a.m. I’m not 100% sure, but it sounded like staff as they just kept walking around. If given the option, I suggest requesting a room towards the back where it was much quieter the first time I stayed. The spa closed at 9 p.m. that night, which I was advised at during check-in. Unfortunately, the gentleman closing it up starting turning things off around 8:30 p.m. while guests were still using the facilities. Overall, and excellent value for the rate and will definitely stay again.

Front office closes at 8pm amdnooens at 7am. There is no one available for assistance. The rooms are dirty and so are the hallways. The property was very dark. The heater didn't work. Breakfast was composed of the leftover food from the day before. Aged fruit, bread, cheese slices, and even the juice.

Very nice spa hotel only reason not receiving all excellent ratings is because the main pool is still under construction/renovation. According to Expedia info renovation was on Sept 30 and should have been done by the time of my booking. Other than this, everything was excellent.

Nice property, good food, good service. It is a spa and as such it is understandable that noisy, rowdy behaviour should not be tolerated. We are a couple in our seventies staying there because of a funeral we attended. After a stressful and emotional day we went to the hot pool to relax. We were chatting when a staffer came over and basically told us to shut up because he could hear us talking! Will not be returning there.

Our experience at this hotel/spa is average. There are several hot and cold tubs, a pool and plenty of chairs - but everything is run down, weeds growing where they should not be, paint peeling, cracked and heaved path ways, the laminate floor in our room was separating at the joints, and other things. The restaurant is over priced, yet nice, and the people and service were wonderful. If it was not for the people the hotel was rate even lower. I am not sure what others see when they rate it excellent....

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable, however our room was completely damp in the morning with everything feeling wet. The food is good that you order for dinner but the complimentary breakfast they boast about is completely disappointing. You have a choice out of 4 things and 3 choices are a basic egg breakfast, there are no free pastries out, there is only toast that guests make themselves (not worth the additional fee per person for staying there and not very tasty). The staff was unwelcoming by not providing us any information about what is offered and where things are located. I would NOT recommend this hotel if you are only English speaking and/or under the age of 40 because in my opinion they do not want younger guests. There are better hotels that are less expensive that offer more amenities who will be welcoming towards their guests in the area.

Location excellant for quiet retreat but place a little tired with filthy hallway carpets, worn sagging bed and furniture weathered to say the least. Staff seem indifferent and not very welcoming to hotel guests.Bedding and bathroom thankfully clean and after hours quiet once outside spa clientele leave the facility. Restaurant on site very good going down but we both had upset stomachs with diarrhea the next day requiring immodium to settle things down. There is a lot of upside promise at this place but needs more attention to detail both inside and out.

Great hotel, just very loud inside. We were next to the door leading to the spa so we heard doors slamming constantly. The walls are very thin and so we heard people talking all the time & felt like we had no privacy. When we got to our room, our bedding was still humid (as if it were taken out of the dryer too quick). Washroom was immaculate. The spa is wonderful, calm and gorgeous. Very well kept. The bistro and restaurant are very very fancy, like almost too fancy. I have a picky boyfriend so we had to go out to eat because the restaurant menu was too fancy for him (LOL). But great breakfast though. Water bottles and towels are unlimited. Excellent customer service at the desk and at the bistro. Cleaning personnel very friendly.

Fabulous experience With 2 things 4 improvement

The stay was wonderful and makes you wanna come back several times. It's a fabulous experience in general.

However, the only two things that annoyed us were:

1- Kids under 14 were not allowed AT ALL in the swimming pool. It was written in the fine print but we didn't notice it until the next day of arrival. So, it's kinda our fault for not reading the fine print. But it will be great if children under 14 are allowed into the swimming pool so families with kids can enjoy such nice facilities.

2- The receptionist who we dealt with most of the time during our stay was talking in a kinda fluent English on the phone with others, but for some unknown reasons for us, she kept talking in French although we informed her that we don't speak French and some customers used to be the translators for us, which was embarrassing. We heard her talking in English on the phone several times, and pretending not to speak English was not welcoming for us as customers. Some of others staff used to speak with us in English except for her.

Again, the stay was fantastic and the hotel deserves to be visited.

Situated on the river, the setting was beautiful and peaceful. There were lots of places to relax - hot tubs, pool, steam sauna, dry sauna. The motel was very clean, warm, and inviting. Definitely felt we got great value for what we paid. Very happy with our stay and would highly recommend this location.

Great escape on a secluded island. Property needs a bit of TLC but nothing that would stop you from enjoying the site. Charging $10 for robe rental is frankly cheesy for a SPA. Breakfast could be improved as it should reflect the “health” angle of this property. Massages with Danielle and Denis were fantastic. Would return as the site must be absolutely stunning in the summer time.

Unique experience with country feel close to Montreal, having the SPA operational in the middle of winter a nice added benefit (Outdoor Hot Tub and Sauna). With a little attention to minor detail such as electronic device charging stations in the rooms this hotel will easily qualify for a 5/5 in our opinion.

Wonderful experience in a great place. My advise is to arrive during daytime because it quite challenging to find your way at night time. GPS is not very helpful because the signal drops nearby the location. I had to call the hotel for directions.
