breakfast and dinner were both good. It was worthy to stayin in this hotel for those elements. However the condition of private bath tub was terrible. The wooden door was off the window frame, and the hinoki tub was moldy in several places. The experience of wood powder getting stuck in my fingernails was really not a pleasant experience.

An interesting mix of retro western with Japanese style onsen and gardens, this hotel offers rooms with huge, king size beds. We opted for the kaiseki dinner, and they were able to accommodate even though we didn’t reserve it at the time of our booking. The meal was excellent with a range of courses. We drove here, but it looks to be a 20 minute walk from the charming parts of Yufuin

I really enjoyed my brief stay here. Only stayed one night. The star of the facility is the onsen. The outdoor pools were lovely and it was not crowded in summer. Mostly had to myself.
I must say I looked dashing in the yukata lent by the hotel.

入り口は趣きある老舗旅館風ですが、中は不思議な装飾でした。部屋は広いけど古いマンションをホテルに改装した感じです。自然豊かな場所にあり夏だから仕方ないかもしれませんが、部屋に蚊が２匹いました。露天風呂に行く途中の通路も虫の死骸があったりそういうのが気になる方には合わないかもしれません。露天風呂は空いていとほほ貸し切りでした。予約して利用する貸し切りは桧風呂にはいらましたがぬるかったのと、蜘蛛の巣があったりでした。

お部屋はマンションを改築したような構造で悪くはないけれども、一昔前のホテルのような感じがした。
人によっては趣があるような印象。
温泉が素晴らしく良かった。これは体験した中ではなによりもおススメ。
食事が有名みたいですが、今回の旅では体験できなかったので、ぜひ次回食べたい。

快適なステイ
夕食が不要だったので、一泊朝食付きで利用しました。お部屋は古いですが、清潔で、快適です。よかったのはお部屋のドアに」お花の写真と名前があるので、部屋番号をうっかり忘れてもお花で思い出せました。大浴場は内湯がなく露天のみですが、風情のある趣で湯布院らしく自然に囲まれとても良かったです。お値段が手頃なので、気軽に泊まれて湯布院の良さが満喫できます。

源泉かけ流しの温泉が適温で上がってからもずっと体がほかほかして非常に良かった。
食事も朝夕とも和洋バランス良く、和は太刀魚、真鯛、ハモ、平目のお造り、焼き物、洋はステーキなど全て美味しくいただきました。
何よりスタッフのホスピタリティが素晴らしく感激しました。
