The staff is very nice and the location is lovely. I got a free gift (a small pouch) when I checked in. My room was spacious and had a kotatsu which I really appreciated because it got suddenly cold outside. I also was able to enjoy two really beautiful and relaxing outdoor private baths! Breakfast had an amazing view and was delicious. They even gave me a hot pack when I checked out because it was cold outside. I really like the area and I’ll definitely visit again.

Best Hotel to stay in Yufuin

Excellent hotel in Yufuin! Location is mins walk away from Kinrin Lake so you can enjoy the excellent morning view. Hotel room is clean and comfortable, and the private onsens are really great for relaxing. Dinner and breakfast are really must try in my opinion. Staffs are all very friendly and helpful too.

Great location, baths and overall stay!

The check-in process was very smooth from the moment we were greeted as our car pulled into the property. We were able to do some pre-check in as we arrived in the morning and allowed to park our cars there as we explored the town and shops. Upon check-in we were provided small gifts (including beautiful small drawstring bags for all the ladies). The room that our party stayed in was on the top floor. we were greeted with a large spacious tatami room with a super high celling. It was one main room with a Kotatsu table (table with a cover & heater underneath to keep those legs/toes warm). But with the table moved to the side of the room (still able to be used) there was plenty of space for 4 beds. Note that you have to set the beds yourself.
Meals and the private family baths (which we booked ahead of time, for a 1 hour time slot) were in a separate building with a short walk outside (warm jackets for the Yukata were provided in the room). There was a short March the evening we were there so we enjoyed the onsen with snow gently coming down on us which was AMAZING. Family bath was a good size. There was actually a indoor bath and outdoor bath in the same \"private area\".
Dinner and breakfast were in different buildings but both were beautifully and deliciously laid out meals. The morning breakfast we also had a beautiful snowy morning view which enhanced the whole experience.
Short walk down to shopping street and town, also a coin laundry across the street! Great location!

The ryokan is a distance away from the station and some section of path to it is unlit, becareful when coming in winter where the sun sets earlier. Most stores also closes by 5:30pm so take note.
That said, the staff are really friendly and accomodating, one of the staff, Sato, reached out to guide me on what to do and set the private onsen timings weeks before, great service throughout.
The breakfast is also really good! I really enjoyed my stay!

Stayed overnight on a weekend trip to Yufuin. This accommodation is a gem of a place. The staff are very attentive and are present from check in to check out, whether arriving early to drop off your bags, in the restaurants or for the hot baths. They have private and public baths. The public baths are open all day 6am to 2 am, the private mornings and evenings just past midnight. You can book the private bath for your own party for 50 minutes. I had it all to myself. The breakfast and dinner are traditional Japanese and are delicious. Overall a great stay, highly recommended.

All the facilities in this hotel were very clean, operational, and fantastic to use. In particular, the staff in this hotel were absolutely amazing. They were the most friendly and welcoming people that we have ever met, especially the staff in the restaurants. The food served was very fresh and delicious as well. My room was very spacious and clean. There were superb private onsens in the hotel. It was very easy to communicate with the hotel staff in English. I could have booked any other accommodation with an onsen but I’m so glad I chose Yadoya for its exceptional service and delectable kaiseki meals. The private outdoor onsens were beautiful with the backdrop of autumn foliage on Mt Yufu. Parking was plentiful. Our stay here was easily the highlight of our 2 week Kyushu roadtrip.

We did not know what to expect really and loved it. The staff is incredibly kind, the room was nice, so many nice touches welcomed us: yukata and kimonos, access to the onsen, plenty of little gifts, delicious japanese breakfast for such a good price. This place is a gem. Highly recommended if you plan on staying in Yufuin. And truly, Yufuin is a very nice place too. Far from the crazy big cities, a lot of charm and character. Very cute little place to rest and recharge.

Convenient location, 10 mins walking distance to Kinrin Lake. Staff is super nice and polite. Nice welcome gift. Room is spacious and clean, we get free upgrade to superior room. The environment is beautiful and cosy.

Love the stay at Yufuin Yawaraginosato Yadoya. Hotel is walkable distance from the train station and near to the shops. The hotel staff were very friendly and we got to try the 3 private hot springs. Pretty yukata is available for rent free for female occupants.

The staff are wonderful and speak English which is great. The rooms are large with high ceilings and have 2 beds. I recommend getting breakfast there as well it is delicious and served in a room with a lovely view of the mountains. They have 3 nice private outdoor baths that can be reserved. The hotel is only 2 blocks from the main shopping street and a 20 minute walk or 7 minute taxi from the station. They even gave me some gifts! I have stayed here several times and will return again if I am in Yufuin.

The only drawback was we were informed check-in was at 15:00 so we went there around 14:50 and only to find out that the private hot spring has nearly been fully booked. Only time was really late at night or earliest morning (5:30 am!!!). Went to public bath instead which was quite good too.

Area was relatively quiet so staying a night to revive your soul is a good idea :)

Wonderful Onsen Experience

The small onsen hotel is conveniently located just a short 3 min walk to the main strip of the shopping street or a 10 min walk to the Yufuin train station. We were greeted by a friendly and helpful gentleman at check-in and he was thorough in explaining everything we needed to know for our 1-night stay. At time of check-in, we made booking for dinner time and reserved our spots of using the private onsen baths. Each of us received a small gift and that was a nice touch. There are 3 private onsen baths that guests can book twice a day, once in the evening and once in the morning. As we only stayed for one night, we were able to experience two out of the three private baths. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I would highly recommend anyone booking into the hotel to also include the optional dinner and breakfast as food quality and presentation was truly top-notch and authentic Japanese! The terrific dinner menu includes a half-lobster salad and wagyu beef sukiyaki. Very delicious indeed! Our room 302 on the third floor is large in size that features two twin beds with a tatami sitting area. The room is clean and everything is in good working condition. The décor is a little dated but very comfortable. If time permits, I would recommend a short 5-7 min walk to the beautiful Kinrin Lake early in the morning. I would love to return to this hotel! The only negative experience was that I left my portable charger in the room. Well, it's all my own fault!

I stayed in this hotel with my family in Aug. The location is good, it takes few minutes to main street and about 15 minutes to station. Our room 301 is spacious and clean. The private onsen is excellent but you need to book it in advance. The staffs are nice and helpful. We enjoy our stay very much.

The reception staff was not friendly and unhelpful.
Check out time is 10am which is ridiculous and no fusion bed making service - I had to make the fusion on my own. I’ve been stayed in many onsen hotels and this was the first time with self service fusion bed making. We’ve been allocated to a handicapped room which I didn’t understand as
the hotel is not full and the total no of guests stayed on the day was no more than 8 people. No amenities at the onsen and the facility is outdated. With this price I would definitely choose other hotel.

The private onsen was wonderful. You could reserve twice ( 1 hour session each day )
during your stay. Since we had early train next morning . The staff was very helpful that she arranged the breakfast at 7:15am for us (15 minutes before the normal breakfast time-7:30am). She also booked a taxi to train station for us. We were very appreciative what she did.

Ethically Run Ryokan - THE BEST

In July, I booked a twins suite with tatami area (dinner and breakfast included) which I planned to stay with my elderly parents (in 70's). 2 days before our visit to Yufuin in September, typhoon no.18 (Talim) was fast approaching Kyushu. The ryokan emailed me and asked about our travel plans. They frankly told us that the poor weather might render the expressway unusable btw Yufuin and Fukuoka.. In that case, the bus that we planned to take the day after our stay to the airport might stop service. As we would run the risks of missing the flight home, this ryokan has offered to cancel the booking with full refund. We are so grateful for their understanding and putting their guests' safety and well being ahead of their business interest (losing the hotel charges and wasting the food prepared). We ended up staying another night in Fukuoka without worrying about disrupted bus service, flash floods and fallen trees on the highway.
On our next visit to Yufuin, we willl no doubt stay at Yawaraginosato Yadoya and reciprocate their kindness. .May we wish you good health, pleasant weather and prosperity!

Quiet place to unwind in private hot springs.

The tourist information at Yufuin train station was very helpful in providing us with directions to the hotel. You can catch a taxi but we decided to walk the 20 mins as we were early for our check-in and it gave us a chance to explore along the way. We were greeted very warmly and since we arrived early we were able to leave our luggage while we went to have a bite to eat. The staff were very accommodating, though a Japanese phrase book would come in handy at times. The rooms were very spacious and clean. It's one of those places where you have to take off your shoes before going into the hotel and change slippers when using the bathroom. They have public hot springs and they have private ones that you pre-book, we only used the private ones and they were beautifully landscaped. Towels and shampoo are provided in the rooms located next to the individual hot springs, of which there was 3. Our accommodation included breakfast and dinner, Japanese style, which we enjoyed. The massage chairs were a lovely bonus. Kimonos were provide for the duration of your stay and we received little gifts to take home as well which was a nice touch.

Quiet stay around local residence

Hotel is 5-mins walk away from a touristy walkway with local shops and foods. There's pretty lake nearby too with nice restaurants, a possible area for long and quiet lunch with the special somebody.

Environment inside hotel is very quiet, feels like a family-owned resort with care and details. Recommend the private bath over public bath for much better scenes and onsen, staff offers multiple bookings as long as there are open slots! Restaurants are spacious enough to allow a big table for your own party, nice food and friendly staff to serve you as well. Breakfast portion is huge, but all dishes are yummy!

Everywhere you go, there are staff guiding way (with great smiles)!

Easy to find, located near the river. Staff can speak English and nice to introduce the hotel facilities during check-in. Actually we arrived Yufuin around 11am, we walked around and shopping until 3pm. You are s suggested to check in early to book \"private\" Onsen (difference styles). Yukata was provided freely and female can choose their favourite colour. Onsen is excellent! We enjoyed much at evening and at the morning before we departed. Moreover, massage machines are available for use complimentary at the relaxing corner near the lobby. Room is clean and big enough for two persons with two suitcases. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. Overall, we recommend travellers to stay at Yufuin Yawaraginosato Yadoya.

We were pleased to be greeted by the staff when we arrived who is already expecting us and they speak good English! When we were led to the room we were happy to find the room facilities are so new and clean. We not only enjoy the room, bed, and even the private onsen which were fantastic! Really happy to recommend this ryokan to anyone. The only downside is the distance from the train or bus station. Luckily taxi is pretty cheap so not really an issue.

Amazing experience ever!!!

Staff was very kind and great. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. Specially I loved the raw eggs which color was orange and really fresh with soy souce. The outdoor and indoor private hot tub were just great. They provide ion alkalite water for free. Service was so detailed, guest-oriented and superb. They provided pretty Japanese \"Yukata\" clothes and welcome gift only to the ladies and room amenities were great. It was very close to the Kinrinko lake and in the day time it was all walking distance to the shops and Yufuin Station, but if you arrive at night, you'd better take taxi since it was bit hard to find it out at the first. Arrive early in the hotel to book the outdoor private hot tub otherwise there will be no space and you have to use the tiny bathroom in your room which has the weak water stream from the shower.
I really want to come back again with my family!!!!

從一到旅館，就有備受禮遇尊崇的感覺，親切溫柔服務態度，專屬戶外溫泉，美好的風景享受著精緻早餐，太棒的享受！
可是最令人感動的事，是已經退房離開，走了已經有一段距離，忽然被後面的聲音喊住，回頭一看驚訝了一下，原來我忘記了我的拐杖，服務人員一路跑步追我們，為了送回我拐杖，其實他們可以選擇讓我們自己發現，再回頭去取的，然而他們卻選擇最辛苦的方式，即時送回我們的遺忘物品，那一刻內心真的充滿感激與感動，如果再來由布院，我想這裏將是我的不二選擇！

家人覺得床褥較硬，但其他各方面都很好。
這次是我第二次入住，今次特登帶年長父母來試下温泉旅館一泊二食，佢地好滿意，晚餐亦很好味。職員好貼心，有安排地下温泉給我們，行動不便嘅父母不用行樓梯上上層溫泉。整體滿意，值得推介。

일본 유후인 료칸 중 베스트 숙소라고 생각합니다!

숙소의 직원들 모두 너무 친절했어요.
그리고 일본 여행에서 처음 료칸에서 숙박하며 온천을 즐겼는데 이후 또 기회가 생긴다면 재차 방문하고 싶을 정도로 만족감을 느꼈습니다. 그리고 제공된 아침식사도 맛있었어요!! 정말이지 다른 사람들에게도 꼭 추천하고 싶은 숙소이며 서비스였습니다!

スタッフの方の接客が丁寧で心地よく過ごさせていただきました。
管内も綺麗でお部屋も広く、お風呂も貸切風呂はとても良かったです。
また由布院へ行く際は泊まらせていただきたいと思います。

숙박 예약할 때 온천을 같이 예약했는데 너무 좋았음. 깨끗하게 관리되어있었고 일본 정원처럼 꾸며놓아 만족함. 석식은 가이세키 코스식으로 나왔고 조식도 일본 가정식이었는데 보이는 것에도 신경을 써 돈 낸것 이상으로 마음에 듦. 체크인 할 때도 작은 선물과 유카타 디자인 고르는 것도 세심했고 저녁 식당과 온천도 직원이 안내해줬음.

2泊しました。お正月で忙しいと思われますが、スタッフの方々笑顔で親切でした。特にお料理は、夕食、朝食共に手の込んだもので大変美味しかったです。量も適量で男の方でも満足だと思われます。
お風呂は大風呂と家族風呂　3つの露天風呂があり飽きません。露天風呂は予約ですが、毎日2回使えました。
由布院駅から歩いて１５分かからないと思いますが、静かで落ち着いて過ごせます。

위치가 일단 너무 좋았어요 친절함, 기프트, 전세탕, 청결 모든게 완벽했다...! 첫 일본 여행의 추억을 잘 만들고 갑니다.
야와라기탕이 유명한데 밤에 봐서 그런지 의외로 고에몬탕이 너무 너무 예뻤어요...!

조식은 좀 별로였지만 필수 선택사항이라 아쉽습니다.
