We were under the impression we booked a cabin. Not the case! We got what I call a “drifters” room along a row of others. Seemed like people may live there long term in some. No seats or chairs in the one we were assigned. Asked for one from attend and was told to use a sketchy picnic table across the gravel drive way by a dilapidated fence near the road. Pics and price did not accurately depict quality of stay. Not trying to down anyone for trying to make a living with their property but this was NOT for us. Did not feel safe. Did not stay. Left immediately!

We checked in late 7P as there was an unexpected blizzard in Denver.

We went to the room, all was fine until we attempted to utilize the microwave. All the power blew out in our room. We called the number listed 4 times, to NO AVAIL!

We had NO POWER, NO LIGHTS, NO HEAT, NO TV, NO INTERNET, NO MICROWAVE!
MOST IMPORTANTLY NO RESPONSE FROM THE Stone Mountain Lodge during a freezing cold blizzard night!

I will be disputing this on my credit card, and do not recommend staying here, as there is no one who will answer your call or assist you in an emergency!!!!!!

There was no one there to check out and I didn't like that, but it's ok. Room was cozy and warm when we came, thank you. Water pressure in sink could be better. Room provided everything we needed. It was clean and I liked the toilet paper and towels folded nicely.

We stayed in one of the two bedroom cabins and really enjoyed our time there. To be honest, in reading some of the bad reviews we went into our stay with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable it was. They had the amenities we needed for a short stay.

The room I arrived to (15) was awful! The bed was obviously worn out on the side away from the window and the bed squeaked whenever I moved. The road noise defied that there were windows and doors. The toilet was not bolted firmly to the floor. Not a single picture on the wall. The kitchenette had barely enough cooking and eating utensils for a basic meal.

The second night I thought I’d sleep on the side of the bed closest to the window out of desperation, but when I pulled back the sheets I questioned whether the sheets had been changed.

After a second sleepless night on the worn side of the bed I requested a room change. To their credit I was moved to a much more comfortable room, though without apology or credit.

Room 9 did not have a kitchenette, but did have a microwave and small fridge. It had been remodeled and was much quieter (road noise) and the bed was comfortable.

That being said the walls are paper thin as I discovered when I had neighbors on either side for the remainder of my stay. Those three nights people were in and out at all hours, TVs blaring and loud and sometimes apparently drunken chatter.

I knew when I made the reservation that this was a budget option to avoid the crazy September rates in Estes, but I wouldn’t stay again based on the above.

No frills motel! Our first night the bed was terrible. But we asked at the desk for a different room and this bed was a bit better. The newly remodeled room much better than the older rooms.. the pool is not very clean. The water was hot in the shower. Room towels are likely washed with bleach they have that smell. . And the rooms were clean.

Cute and cozy, and kinda uncomfy

This is a very cute little place, just a few minutes from town. It's an older hotel, so there is much that can't be changed. It was clean, the a/c worked great, and the towels were nice and fluffy. But the beds could be upgraded - it was pretty uncomfortable and made so much noise you woke up every time you moved. My kids were on the sleeper sofa, and the entire end of the 'bed' had ripped from the frame, so if you sat there (or even set your bag there) you/it fell all the way through. I don't know if I've ever felt a pull out mattress with springs that prominent, either. It was pretty awful. Showers are tiny, and my 8 year old had trouble getting any of the water to even hit her. I'm not sure how you could change the shower head though. Water pressure was great for me! We actually stayed in 2 different rooms and the first one could really use a hook for the hand towel. We had to leave it in the wet sink, or on the toilet paper.

This place is really an old run down roadside motel, probably built in the 1950’s. It also has about 4 cabins, and we rented one of those. This place has potential because of its proximity to Lyons and Estes Park, but it looks like no one has invested a dime in it for years. It was cheap, so we made it work, but I would not stay there again.

We got here and no one was at the office. We called and no one answered. It was extremely hot and when the woman got there she was not very friendly. She gave us an envelope and asked for my ID. We got into the cabin and it was stifling hot. We turned the window unit on and looked for fans. The loft bed was not made up. The linens were balled up in a pile on the floor. It was hotter than the first floor. The stairs to the loft are nearly impassable and the stairs do not have enough space to place your foot firmly on it when getting down. So dangerous. It’s like a spooky ladder needless to say the loft was not used. Granted this is a cabin. There are holes in the window seals leaving openings for every insect on the forest to come hang out. This place is extremely run down. We stayed in cabin 19. There is a door leading to the next cabin that is locked with a clasp. You can see through the crack. We could actually see the people in the next cabin. It was kind of creepy. This is one of the worst stays I’ve experienced in my many years and I feel I was being generous with a 3 star rating. Way over priced.

The reason I gave a 3 is because we loved the location and the fact we could walk down to the water. We loved the outside of the cabin except for the broken stair going into our cabin.

Once we switched away from a room which was not set up well and was hard to move around, we were very comfortable in a room with kitchenette. The road noise bothered us in the day but was quiet at night. The shower stall was miniscule, but the beds were great. The heater/air-conditioner was quiet and worked well. It was close to Longmont, and the great little town of Lyons with wonderful restaurants. It had easy access to Estes Park which we visited. They didn't answer the phone nor return calls. Otherwise, the staff was very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay.

The late check in was very convenient. They leave the key in the mailbox for you. Our only complaint was that the room is not made for convenience. We stayed her because it was close to a venue that we were attending a wedding at. The bathroom does not have any hooks, for towels, extra clothes, or toiletry bags. There is only one mirror that is located in the bathroom, so you have to take turns while getting ready. Additionally we would ideally need another space to get ready in that has an outlet with a mirror. The room was very clean so a super plus!

The shower knob was broken plastic and sliced my hand open before I noticed it was broken. Towels were dirty. The bathroom was dirty with hairs everywhere. The toilet was old and ran water the entire night. One of the double beds is shorter in the room. Very unpleasant experience. No interior deadbolt on the door. Would not recommend.

Sad state of disrepair

Beautiful setting just outside Lyons, CO, that we drove by a couple times because the trees block their sign. These are historic, duplex cabins marketed without many details. The internet and television were intermittent at best and simply need upgrading or don't offer. Antique window glass was replaced with plastic that had torn and lets in bugs. Several panes were cracked and broken. I had to call about how to turn on water in the shower and it was difficult, at best. The lighting/fan combo over the bed and the one over the kitchenette didn't work so my husband got frustrated. The bed was nice and firm but the pillows were old and flat. It's unfortunate that general maintenance and repair will cause the demise of this lovely Lodge. Everything was clean and staff cordial but we won't be back. The yard man started up his mower at 7:30 a.m., followed by the weed wacker and blower to rudely remind us it was time to go.

We loved this place for being so close to Lyons (for meals and entertainment and shopping) and Estes Park (for amazing hiking trails). We were there during the off season, so it was quiet as far as other guests. We didn't use the pool since it wasn't clean, the TV didn't have any channels, and the wifi wasn't working correctly (the staff person said they'd been having issues over the last week or so and hadn't yet gotten it sorted out), but otherwise, it was good for what we needed, and a beautiful spot.

Our room was available that night, but they charged us 3 seperate charges totalling double what the other 2 nights were. Unfortunately, I used my debit card and not the same card I used through expedia. I tried to talk to them, but they somehow tried to blame it on expedia. So all in all, they way overcharged me.

Owners are GREAT folks! Personal service, very responsive and caring. Liked all interaction with them. Loved the room, but in the extreme heat the air conditioner just could not keep up. The owners quickly offered an auxiliary air unit or fan & we took the fan. That did the trick! the room was spacious, and beds were comfortable. Loved the vibe. The room had space for a small table and chairs but had none. With the kitchenette I expected some seating for meals. It appeared that the owners are actively improving the property & I'll check back next trip for sure.

There was more NOT to like. The amenities were awful. It looked like somebody's basement might look. No decorations whatsoever. The biggest problem was that the toilet seat wasnt even attached to the toilet!! We really couldn't believe it. The beds were pretty uncomfortable, the springs could be felt through the mattress.
We paid $176 for 1 night and feel like I should get a REFUND!! I would never recommend this place.

My son and I stayed in cabin 7, and we were both pleased with the cabin. It’s a 2 bedroom, small kitchen, small living area. It was cute. The beds and bedding were comfortable. The bathroom tub looked new and shower was fine. Appliances worked fine. It was cute. Felt perfectly safe. Easy access to Rocky Mountain National Park. I can’t speak for the other cabins or motel rooms, but cabin 17 was pleasant.

I’m fairly sensitive to smells, and they do use an air freshener of sorts to mask it, but upon walking in you can definitely tell there has been some combination of smoking and pets in the room at some point. It’s not terrible, just noticeable when I first walked in. There are some mysterious building noises, repeated creaking/tapping sounds etc, but I put on my noise machine and slept just fine. Shower curtain is mildewy and the shower head is not well suited or angled for the size of the shower. Kind of tricky to get the job done between that and the curtain not actually keeping any water in. But all in all, it was what I needed for a short stay at a low price. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Check in and parking were easy.

Unit 9 was clean and furnished nicely, but it was ice cold when I arrived. It was the next day when the room finally became warm. The deadbolt didn’t work. The shower handle was impossible and actually came off in my hand. The shower drain cover was loose, a hazard. It’s a budget room that could be easily presentable with a few fixes.

Overall this was a nice cozy place to stay! I wish there would’ve been pictures of the outside of the motel rooms. Either way the room was good enough for what we needed! The staff was really nice and helpful. The only thing I will say is that the door in our room had a gap (which is an easy fix with some weather stripping) however this gap caused brown spiders to come in the room. We killed 3. Other than that this place was super clean and quiet! Would come back.

False Advertisement. It is a cheap motel on the side of the mountain. the bathroom didn't have an outlet in it so i had to blow dry and curl my hair by the front door across from a mirror hung on the outside of the bathroom. there is a mirror inside the bathroom but no outlet. also the fan in the bathroom did not work. there wasn't streaming or cable tv, it was local stations only so PBS. its not very quiet as it is directly off the main road up the mountain, in a parallel fashion. and the worst part was the blanket wasn't a blanket, it was a sham. it was about 1/8" thick blanket. the pillows were hard. i never leave bad reviews but this one really takes the cake.

This property is not as advertised. The pictures for this property did not portray where I stayed. My room was not in a stand-alone cabin as was advertised nor was the inside of the room clean and quaint. The room was connected to a row of rooms, there were markings/stains/chunks of paint missing on the walls, the room was very basic and the furnishings were dated, the bathroom mirror was dirty, one of the heater knobs was broken and when the heater was turned on it sounded like a diesel generator. The bedspread was thin and no extra blankets were in the room. There is no curtain across the back window. I would not stay in this property again and I won't recommend others to stay in this property.

I would say this little cabin was quaint. The bathroom was a little small and no plug for your blow dryer but it has a small coffee maker, a little ice box and a microwave. It is much cheaper to stay here than in Estes Park!
