We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Excellent decor and nice views of the mountains. The pool area and gym are great. The staff and management were very helpful. The hotel is not in the city center but it is easily accessible by Uber.

Nice place, good service.

Not many sun loungers at the pool.

Sad to hear that the leftovers from the buffet are thrown out and not given to the ones in need. Try to reduce food waste, and at the same time do something good for the ones without much.

Overall the hotel itself is excellent, the staff, the facilities and the food.....an excellent hotel.

The only negative does not relate to the hotel itself maybe more about the city of Kandy, its very nosey and busy, we were hounded by local traders and drivers all day which compared to other parts of the country we would not have the same experienceits

The hotel is an easy ride into town. Staff were very pleasant. We were upgraded to a family suite, which made our stay very enjoyable - great room. It has an amazing infinity pool overlooking the mountains.

The pictures of the hotel make it look like there are no other developments around it, which is not the case. Unfortunately the food and drinks service was very chaotic. It often came late and cold. The wine and beer were served at room temperature. But they were happy to put on ice if you waited a while.

Overall the stuff we’re friendly except at the date of checkout one lady called me from the reception around 11:30 am and she asked me what time are you checking out sir? I told her 1230 and she told me rudely that after 1230 the system will start charging you per hour it was sound like a threat which I didn’t like

The Best !

Amazing experience - all round wonderful hotel with exceptional service. Dananjaya and the pastry chef organized wonderful birthday cakes for my wife.
We’ve stayed in a good few hotels around the world but never seen such dedication and kindness.
We had an enormous room which was so comfortable. Credit to Sumit and probart
for excellence in room service.

Very nice property and would certainly stay there again. A couple of notes. The carpeting in our room was getting old - number of small stains - nothing critical but for the standard the hotel portrays, it should be better. The morning rooster - every morning! Both the breakfast and dinner buffet were extensive, however the food quality was a bit below what one would expect from a higher end hotel. Food was good, but needed that extra oomph to bring it to a higher level.

Online it looked great. In reality, hotel was noisy and uncomfortable, restaurant service slow and mediocre food, staff tried hard and were friendly but the service was very poor. Everything from requesting a hair dryer to a to go coffee cup was answered by a No can’t do. Disappointing.

I enjoyed my stay at the Golden Crown. I was only there one night, but it was the perfect place to rest after a busy day of sightseeing. My room was clean and spacious. The hotel is in a beautiful setting, and has these high windows in the lobby that makes you feel like you're in the middle of the jungle (you are!). The food was very good and service attentive. I would stay here again.

Beautiful hotel! Tranquil location (away from city centre), wonderful views from the room and restaurant/pool. Dinner/breakfast buffets we’re delicious and service was top. Room was spacious and bed super duper comfy, woken up by monkeys on the balcony which was noisy but cute. (Keep the doors closed).

Fabulous Hotel

A palatial hotel, with awesome staff and delicious food! We were welcomed with Kandyan drummers and delicious fruit juice to quench our thirst. Then we were shown to our room, a junior suite,750 sq. ft of luxury! The infinity pool is beautiful and sitting outside by the bar with the breeze blowing was heavenly! Ravi at the restaurant was very helpful and attended to all our needs.

Its comfortable beautiful setting . Restaurant is superb wiith the pool and good music.
Road to the hotel is really bad. The room is not sound proof. Woken up around 1am with people talking aloud. The bathroom wash basin is too high and hard to reach for people who are under 5 .1 feet tall.

Good property. Lobby is great, pool is wonderful and the buffet restaurant is also good. Our room had a nice view of the mountains and was on the 4th floor. 1st night was noisy as there was a party going on the 5th floor. Water flow in the sink was very slow all through our stay. We didn’t though complain about it. The property is some distance from Kandy lake.

We were welcomed at the entrance by Saranwya and her colleague. We were offered some juice which was refreshing after our long journey.

They were both so friendly and walked us all the way to our rooms with smiles on their faces and reassuring us if there’s anything we need, just to ask.

We walked out of the hotel with only positive words to speak of the amazing and hardworking staff. They made it a memorable stay for us ! From the doormen to the restaurant staff ; all were very hospitable and quick to respond.

The manager was so very thoughtful asking about how my moms knees are and giving us water as we waited to leave.

The buffet was okay I’m not sure about how fresh the food is as my sister and I got really sick our last night . Vomiting , fever and to the bathroom. We fell so ill, we had to request a late checkout & delay our next destination. We are still not feeling well. There was a big pizza like bread that looked rotten to me but a person there said it was cheese (it was fuzzy and had fungus) thankfully, it was removed.

All in all, I can highly recommend staying here but do not recommend the food.
