Checked in and then checked out 3 hours later. Was not asked why by the front desk staff.
Rooms are noisy. Guests hanging around the common toilet talking loudly. Doors banging. Could hear all the street noise through the closed windows. And finally no iron available to iron clothes. Travellers have clothes in their suitcases that get creased. I’ve never heard a hotel with no iron. So disappointed.

We had an amazing 8-day stay at the Basilica Hotel. The place has a very calm vibe, comfy rooms, awesome inner garden. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for exploring the city, the basilica in front of the hotel is one of the 4 major papal basilicas! We loved coming back to such a relaxed spot after long days of sightseeing. The breakfast was delicious, though we did wish the bacon was a bit crunchier. Overall, a fantastic stay that made our Roman adventure truly memorable!

We had a big group with 3 rooms and the rooms were to die for. The tallest ceilings, an unusual tile floor, comfy beds, and windows that opened onto the surrounding city, and a working elevator/lift. Although we liked the bathrooms generally, the shower floor is slippery so I think anti-slip mats or a non-skid finish should be added for safety. The Basilica Hotel is a short walk from Roma Termini station which was most convenient (also a good place to catch the hop-on hop-off bus tours!) and it seems to be a touristy area so there are lots of dining and souvenir shops around. It is almost in front of the Santa Maria Maggiore and the breakfast area actually has a balcony where you can take pics right in front of it! We had a 2 week European trip and this hotel absolutely had the best breakfast of our entire trip, I’ve included a picture of just the dessert/sweets table. The staff were helpful and courteous, one of them even helped us get a taxi to the airport because the Italian taxis in the area are a bit hit and miss. All in all our stay here was just perfect and we will be recommending this hotel to all our family and friends when they want to visit - it was such a great end to our vacation!

The location was great - within a mile to most attractions. The bedding comforter was not clean (stains etc) & I requested new ones but they didn’t have any. The room was cleaned & large by Europe standards. Very bare bones - plastic cups that ever never replaced. Staff was nice & helpful. Skip paying extra for breakfast. Hard boiled eggs, ham, cheese & rolls. Coffee was good. Was a good value for the price.

Great value. Nice, clean rooms, professional staff. I liked seeing the nun behind the desk in the evenings. Easy access to Termini, but not TOO close--slightly closer to the Cavour metro stop than Termini, across from Sta Maria Maggiore. Wifi is iffy, however--no internet at all the first night, and weak the second. Breakfast is . . . not great. Adequate- but stale croissants, everything kind of mass-produced out of a plastic bag. I'd still stay here again.

Staff could be more friendly, but it was ok.
The AC was blocked on 24 and took me a couple of inquiries to get it to 20. I wish we could control the temperature of our room.

We did not realize the connection to the Catholic Church, but the hotel was very convenient, close to the Termini station and along the way toward the historic part of the city. It was a very good base for us. The room was huge. It was very clean and attractive. For the price, we were very grateful to have such a nice place to stay in such a large capital city.

This hotel (better to call it guest house) was the worst accommodation I have ever had around the world. There’s no safe box, no minibar, no proper essentials, Air conditioning not working, bathroom sink not working, and many more technical issues. On top of that staffs and receptionists are all rude, impolite and aggressive. Plus, against all hotels you can’t have a visitor and this has not been mentioned on their policy. Due to all these issues I contacted Expedia, and surprisingly even Expedia could not convince them to cancel my booking and then I could move to another hotel. They refuse to help and simply ignore your requests. This hotel ruined my Rome trip and turned it to a torture, where I couldn’t use the shower properly due to the sink issue, couldn’t sleep properly, due to the lack of air conditioning and many more issues.

Convenient location - nearby many attractions & historical places, and just a few minutes walking from Rome Termini station & Monti boho-chic neighborhood. The room was clean and the bed very comfy. The staff ready to provide the customer with any info on the transportation and the area - thanks, I much appreciated. Highly recommended to solo travelers as the area is safe and with a great nightlife - just pop into one of the many restaurants or bars nearby or reach one of the coolest neighborhoods in the city center by walking or jumping in a bus.

The hotel seems to be a hospital converted to a hotel years ago. i was given a single bed room accomodated for Handicaped persons !!! i asked reception about this and for him it was so normal, Very creepy.
However the hotel is at walking distance from Train station and many attractions. Breakfast is OK

Lovely stay at DnB. Location is great, 10 minute walk from train station and within walking to all the main attractions. Basic amenities but you only need a place to rest your head at night on a city break so this didn't bother me. Great value for money! Breakfast was nice and room was fairly big compared to other hotels I'd seen on Expedia. My only negative comment would be my room was supposed to have an in room safe and there wasn't one but other than that great stay here!

Lots to do and see within walking distance

This trip to Rome was part of a bigger trip to Europe my husband and I took in Sept 2019. I am trying to remember things now regarding the room that stand out (good or bad) and I can't really think of anything. This hotel is average and adequate but nothing to get too excited about. The room was good sized, clean, and quiet. Check in was easy enough. There is a very tiny lobby with a desk attendant at all times. There is an elevator that is smallish but big enough for hubby and I plus 2 bags. Our room had good working AC which was great because it was hot outside.
Navigation from train station (Roma Termini) on foot was simple and only took about 10 or 15 mins with our luggage.
The area around the hotel is crowded with food, beverage, shopping, and sight seeing options. We walked to the Colosseum for our tour, and walked on our own to the Spanish steps, and Trevi fountain. If you use the Big Bus for city tours there is stop very close to the hotel which is a nice way to see the city.
Overall, this is a decent hotel to stay at. It puts you in an area where there is lots to see and do and gives you a clean place to lay your head at night. Just don't have expectations of luxury and you will like it : )

Internet did not work. We asked many times. They did not do anything just mentioned many people are using it. I tried morning, mid night, noon and never worked. To send just one email, it took more than 30 min. If we knew it earlier, we would use another hotel. They mention then stay next times another hotel. It is really very disappointing.

Lovely B&B, stayed here for just under a week with my partner for his 21st birthday. The BnB is beautiful, clean and has a very good breakfast - vast choice of fruit, vegetables, cakes and juices!

The room we stayed in (107) was spacious; very well furnished, and had a good strong air conditioner!

The location of the hotel was also right in-between the different tourist locations, it wasn't more than a 20 minute walk to any.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay - highly recommend!

Average hotel not far from Rome's amazing history

Dnb House Hotel is a hit and miss.
Firstly, why this hotel misses;
No courtesy bottle of water, or a fridge in the room (Summer season is very hot in Rome).
No Safe inside the room.
Breakfast is one paced, cereal, basic cold meats and poor quality cheese. Basic white and brown bread. No option for scrambled/ poached eggs.
The cold meat (although under cover) if not eaten quickly enough means it's sitting in 20C + heat. I did notice that the Salami had a taste to it as though the meat was starting to \"sweat\".
No iron/ ironing board in room (no I don't want to have to ask for a basic).
Unfortunately for the hotel it's situated right by a church, 7.30am 7 days a week loud church bells ring out (not great when you need rest).
Lastly, one of the male front desk staff wasn't overly helpful.

Where the hotel hits the mark;

Although the room is basic it's of a decent size, the aircon isn't too loud, and on night mode is good.

For the eco traveller it was good to see no \"single use\" plastic complimentary toiletries. Instead at the basin and the amazing shower they provided product in refillable bottles fixed in place. And of decent quality.
Good sized walk in closet, although oddly only 7 hangers.

At breakfast the coffee is good.
I did find 2 other front of desk staff were helpful, in particular the young lady.
The hotel is situated a short walk from Roma Termini, helpful if you want to use the good train system to and from the airport, and only 1km to the Coliseum and Forum.

Very old but Very clean, quiet, friendly staff, good location. Walking distance to many places and rome termini. Simple but good breakfast with fresh pastry. The only thing im concerned with that price there were no refrigerator and safe box at the room. So no way to have a cold water at room. In 3 night stand we had to go to the reception for putting things in the refrigerator or safe box which was very inconvenience.

A good choice in Monti

We needed somewhere we could walk to from the train station with our luggage and found this place. It was comfortable and the staff was very helpful (they let us store our luggage, check in early, and they printed our boarding passes and booked our cab to the airport). You have to just be okay with the rather spare and stern convent vibe. Breakfast was good and nicely early (7:30) which meant we could eat before we left. Comfortable bed and big shower.

It is a comfortable hotel if you are not too hung up on room amenities such as kettle, full set toiletries and mini fridge. ( only toilet rolls, bath towel, hand towel, hand soap and an all in 1 bath and hair shampoo are provided).

Nice stay. Staff was friendly. Building beautiful and secure - and quiet neighborhood. Tiled hallway means you hear everyone leave in the morning. A short walk from train station.

WiFi is great; good shower temp/pressure for about 5 min, then it slowed to a trickle. Enough room to turn around in though. Breakfast was lovely - barista on hand, typical Roman cookies/pastries. Small meat/bread selection. Great fresh juices.

Only real inconvenience was early check out time (10:00), but they had luggage storage.

Good location walking distance to the roman Forum and Colesseum, near to the Metro so able to access all of Rome easily.
lovely clean hotel, good choice of food and drink at breakfast, and lovely tea!! No facilities in the room to make your own tea and coffee but this was Ok for a short break and didn't bother us but to have this would have made the rating of ths hotel excellent.
The room was large and en-suite lovely. Would definitely recommend this as great value for the money we paid.

Great stay!

We had a very pleasant weekend at DNB. The room was comfortable and clean. Rooms are not facing the street so it was relatively quiet. We did hear and feel the underground passing by. WiFi was poor but hey you’re in Rome, enjoy real life. The breakfast is good and we loved the coffee bar. The hotel is conveniently located; close to Termini station, major sights, shops and restaurants. We only used the underground to go to the Vatican but did all the rest by foot.

Slipped on washroom floor

The shower drain was backed up. So when I showered water went all over the washroom floor. When I went to the front desk to ask for a new room or someone to fix the drain. They gave me 5 towels instead...told me to lay them on the floor of the washroom while I showered. It was ridiculous. I slipped on the floor coming out of the shower, and nearly broke my arm. It was an awful experience. I should get my money back.

A good no frills hotel in a convenient location

This was my second stay at DNB. The bathrooms was renovated much improved. The continental breakfast also had a wider range of options, including espresso coffee. The rooms are away from the road facing a courtyard and quiet. As before, I enjoyed staying at DNB and would definitely stay again on my next visit to Rome.

Very clean and spacious room, looked like it had been renovated recently. Bathroom looks near new.
The hotel fronts a busy street but I think all the rooms face the rear (as the wide hallway off the rooms run parallel to the street) so the outlook is over a huge courtyard and neighbouring character buildings so it's relaxing and pleasant; and it was quiet.
Location is great – ten minutes from Termini station and a few minutes to the trattorias of the charming Monti area. Staff are pleasant. Very good value!

This hotel was very clean, and had a delicious breakfast buffet! The staff was cordial, and allowed me to leave my luggage after checkout. The location was fairly convenient for getting on the metro. There were also many cafes and shops within walking distance. Overall, it was a good experience.

Nice place but can do better

Very good lcation close to train. Typical Italian rooms and condition but more on cheap side. Wifi terrible. Breakfast ala motel 6 minus scrabled eggs plus more pastry. Fairly clean though and friendly

Upgraded hotel in a great location

The hotel is recently renovated, very clean. Rooms are spacious, with high ceiling, air conditioning is working well and water pressure and temperature are very good. Breakfast is excellent, diverse selection and tasty. The only problem is if you are a light sleeper, you can feel the subway running underground ( doesn't run all night, but starts very early in the morning). It didn't bother me, but it did bother my friend.

DNB House Hotel provides a great simple accommodation in the heart of Rome. A revamped portion of a convent, the rooms are simple, but quiet, secure, well appointed and in good condition. The bathroom was designed well and had the largest and best shower that I experienced during a 3 week stay in Italy - including in 3 star hotels. Between the Basilica of St. Mary Major and the Roman Forum on the Via Cavour, major sites are within walking distance and connections to the Metro, Roma Termini Rail Station and bus lines are very good. I had to leave for the airport before breakfast was served and so cannot comment on its quality.

Awesome Hotel in Rome

Hotel in great location near buses, underground and trains. Also, the hotel is within walking distance to Colosseum and great restaurants. The rooms are clean, spacious and quiet. Hotel breakfast offers a good selection and great coffee.

Just stay here

DNB house is a wonderful hotel. Very simple, but clean and comfortable and a great location. It had the nicest bathroom! I will stay here again on my next trip to Rome. Thank you for the wonderful service. Grazie!

The location of this hotel was fantastic, everything you needed was provided and one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. My only criticism is that it could do with a little more information in the room regarding facilities/local area.
