Property was great. Zero pool activities! Sub par liquor at the pool. A little better at inside bars and restaurants. Buffet food was ehh! No coffee in the rooms some mornings-or creamer etc.. steak house was hit or miss, long walks to get anywhere. Shows were not great and didn’t start till 10pm
No live music except piano player in lobby bar. Won’t be back

I wouldn’t stay here again. The check-in process was a nightmare, and then my room had water pouring out of the ceiling so I had to go back to the lobby on the other side of the resort and have the room changed. The whole check-in process took hours setting a bad tone immediately since I lost the whole afternoon day 1. The room was not very clean even basic things like the faucets and door handles to the showers and toilet had spots and stuff like they needed to be wiped down. The shower was so filthy with mold and mildew that I wore flip-flops in the shower. There were mosquitoes constantly in the room, even though we were very careful about the doors. I think they were coming in through the drains. The fan broke after the second night. Our steamer didn’t work so we had to call for a replacement while getting ready one night. One of the electrical outlets would come completely out of the wall when you pull your plugs out. We didn’t even have basic things in our room like wash cloths and hand soap. I had to ask the cleaning people for these items several days in a row before them got it for me. The lack of snack options was also terrible. Everyone seemed very intoxicated throughout the day around the pool bars because there is nothing to eat. There are no snack bars or anywhere to grab snacks. Most all-inclusive have places nearby to the pools that you can grab nachos or something this place has nothing and the restaurants are impossible to book reservations.

Absolutely horrible customer service. The staff is completely rude! The food is disgusting and unsanitary! My family left with a stomach virus, vomiting, diarrhea, coughing, and asthma. The venting in the rooms are completely filthy! I took videos and photos ! All the sinks were leaking, black mold underneath! My room was nowhere near clean! The water smells, the pool even smelled like garbage and vomit. My son was forced to go to a hospital, then not treated for " stomach virus" and severe dehydration yet charged me at the resort as well as in the hospital over $2000!!! I want a full refund from this resort and will press charges if the hospital does not refund me as well. The resort is infested with rats and roaches as well! My mother had to change rooms due to roaches! My sliding door did not fully close leaving dozens of mosquitos in the room that bit me and my children!! The water is disgusting and getting bottled water in any restaurant was not optional! The buffet was disgusting, I watched as the waiters wipe counters with the same rag they wiped tongs and plates!! If you are looking to get very I'll, then this resort is for you!

I had an amazing stay at Barceló Bávaro Beach. Everything from the facilities, food, beach, pools, entertainment, and overall service was excellent. The resort was beautiful, well maintained, and there was always something to do. Staff throughout the resort were friendly and welcoming, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations.

A special thank you to Victor Mercedes, who went incredibly above and beyond during my stay. Despite being sick and away from work, he still took the time to help me with restaurant reservations and assist me with anything I needed. I really appreciated how kind, responsive, and helpful he was throughout my trip. His service genuinely made a difference in my experience.

I had a fantastic trip and would absolutely recommend this resort to anyone visiting Punta Cana.

We had an amazing stay at Barceló Bávaro Palace - All Inclusive! The hotel is absolutely beautiful and huge, with so much to do that you’ll never get bored. There were nightly shows, a casino, mini golf, bowling, and even a nightclub, which made every day and night fun and entertaining.

The variety of restaurants was impressive, and we loved getting to try different cuisines throughout our stay. The drinks were also very good, with plenty of options at the bars around the resort.

One of the best parts of our experience was the staff — everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Communication regarding our transportation back to the airport through Expedia was excellent and made the process completely stress-free.

The beach was absolutely beautiful with soft sand and clear water, making it the perfect place to relax. Overall, we had a fantastic vacation and would definitely recommend Barceló Bávaro Palace to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing all-inclusive getaway.

Our stay at Barceló Bávaro was very disappointing overall.
The biggest issue was the language barrier with staff, which made it extremely difficult to communicate or resolve problems. The Miramar Buffet was poor at every meal, with limited options, cold food, watered-down drinks, and low-quality alcohol.
Our room had multiple issues, including a leaking shower with no door, a toilet that didn’t always flush properly, and a broken phone, so we couldn’t even call for help.
The only positives were the evening entertainment and the beach and pool, both of which were enjoyable.
Unfortunately, the negatives outweighed the positives, and we would not return.

The spa was also a good experience.
Some staff were friendly, we ran into more attitude than welcoming staff. At the premium level we waited extended periods of time for everything, I left multiple times to not waste my day in the lobby.
Our room was very warm, and we asked to have the fan speed or room looked at multiple times and nothing happened.
We have a good time in the casino, Carey’s bar was the exact opposite. The bar tenders were rude & had zero patience if you struggle with Spanish.
The food was moderate, plan on 2 hours per dinner reservation. If you are hungry or want a quicker meal stick with the buffet, which wasn’t much different than the restaurant food.
At the end when I went to settle the bill I wasn’t told I’d be charged for a beach dinner, I was told premium can do this. They charged me $120 US.

Overall it was a disappointing experience for the price tag and lack of a distinguished difference between the premium price we paid. If you only speak English you’ll struggle at this resort so I’d suggest a little prep prior

THIS IS NOT A 5 STAR RESORT NO MATTER WHAT THEY ADVERTISE OR ASPIRE TO BE.
THIS IS OUR 5th TIME STAYING AT THIS RESORT.
Location: 5 stars - beautiful beach - the best part of the resort.
Premium Level: 2 stars due to issues with rooms - Booked 2 rooms with request for adjacent rooms. Resort initially gave us rooms very far apart in separate buildings. After 2 days moved to the same building with 1 room on first floor and the second room directly above on the third floor. My adult daughters got eaten up by mosquitos in that first floor room on the first night in that room. They moved to our room on the 3rd floor for 2 nights. They then moved to a 3rd floor room 4 doors down from us for the remainder of the stay. The people at the premium level desk did not seem to care. They kept saying that since we booked with Expedia they could not give us adjacent rooms or compensate us for the loss of use of the 1st floor room.
Housekeeping: 2 stars - Rooms are clean. However, they leave the sliding doors open while cleaning causing mosquitos to enter the room. In the public areas, they mop the floors with some oily cleaner. My daughter slipped on the stairs and was in pain for the rest of our stay.
Rooms: 1 star - Rooms are in dire need of updating. We had issues with hair dryers, safes not working, air conditioning cutting off because the sliding doors were closed but not aligned with the door sensors.
Public Spaces: I sank down in every chair I sat in.

The property and beach were stunning and well maintained. Room service did an amazing job cleaning our room everyday but our mini fridge was not restocked at all during the week. The service was just ok, some of the employees were rude to us and seemed like they did not want to help us out especially at the buffets. There were no servers at the pools or beach so you had to walk to the bar to get your drinks and the property is large so it was a lot of walking back and forth. Breakfast and lunch were not the greatest at the buffets I found most of my food was cold and bland. The à la carte dinners were much better but we were only given 5 reservations for a 7 day stay so 2 nights we had to settle for the buffet. The resort had a sewage smell near the pool, sports bar, and buffet which was not pleasant. It was definitely a relaxing resort but I would not say it is 5 star by any means. Food and service need to be better. Also the drinks seemed watered down by the pool we drank most of the day and barely felt buzzed. It was my first time in DR and we would definitely go back I would just choose a different resort with better food and service because those are very important aspects to a relaxing stay. Although the food was not the greatest we did not get sick from it which was a huge plus.

Pero definitivamente no regresaría, a pesar de q la instalación es grande y tiene atracciones para niños y se pasa bien ya es hora de que reacondicionar el hotel porque las instalaciones están muy desgastadas y se ven viejas. Hay un olor a fosa en todo el hotel horrible ese hotel necesita urgentemente un buen mantenimiento general desde habitaciones, bufet, piscinas. El agua de las habitaciones huele horrible. Y la comida este año estuvo pésimo no había variedad y no estaba muy bien elaborada parecía un comedor obrero. Y la mayoría de los trabajadores deberían ser un poco más atentos con los clientes pq es así como a uno de landeseos de dar propinas según la atención recibida. Hubo días en q nadie se acercaba a ofrecer algo de beber en el bufet. El hotel tiene mucho potencial en estructura pero ya esta muy deteriorado.

This is a huge resort with lots of restaurants and amenities which is great because we traveled with kids. There is such a wide array of things to do! The service at the restaurants was ok. Always had to flag someone for coffee and I had the unpleasant experience at the Japanese restaurant when asking for details on some dishes. The server would roll their eyes and look away every time. For a resort like this I did expect service to be better. Room service was amazing.

We just got back from a week at this Barcelo, and ultimately upgraded our stay mid week to the premium package so have opinions on two different types of stays.

Pro: the family rooms are great for traveling with young kids. It was truly two separate bedrooms with a small entry area and separate bathroom. I didn’t love that the bathroom door was a heavy piece of glass that you had to slide, but otherwise this room worked well. It was right next to the waterpark area for kids, which I appreciated the hours of- 10am to 6pm, so it was always quiet during bedtime and early morning.

The resort itself is not overly huge and is very walkable. I found the majority of staff to be very friendly and the people working at the restaurants especially so.

The food was pretty good, we were only able to eat at one actual restaurant (steakhouse) and that was very nice. The buffet was decent, although I do wish the hours were a bit earlier for families (dinner is not until 6:30). You can eat at the sports bar buffet before the main buffet opens, but it’s not many options.

They had boats available to use for free and the beach is very beautiful.

My husband, daughter and I all get very sick on the trip and we were careful about drinking the water so I don’t know if it was from the ice. When we called room service from the original room at 6am to try and get more milk for our inconsolable toddler, they would not bring us anything until 8 AM.

Reservations at restaurants were difficult to obtain even with staff assistance. Was told some restaurants were booked weeks in advance. Wish I would’ve known this so I could’ve been more proactive sooner. The buffet was hit or miss, just had to be patient about looking around. Usually found something good. The resort was lacking in organized activities for guests unlike other places I’ve been to. But overall it was a relaxing experience.

Premium room wasn’t very clean, or ever dusted. Hard to get waters for your room or get your fridge restocked. TV was broken and I called and they never came to look at it. The workers knock very fast on the door and then just open it. The food was extremely terrible, especially the buffet. I got food poisoning and it ruined 3 days of my trip. Lived off of French fries and fruit. Buffet and restaurants are very unsanitary. Poolside service never brings you anything you order from them. The smell in the buffet will make you want to throw up, and then once you see the food you probably will throw up. The mini golf is awful, there’s no turf, it’s concrete so your ball will never stop rolling, and they don’t clean it so there’s bird poop all over it. You have to pay extra to do any other activities other than sit by the pool or beach. The grounds and pools were kept well cleaned. Overall not a good experience at all and I would highly recommend going somewhere else.

Es un hotel bien grande a lo cual le falta un personal calificado para el mismo ya que hay cosas que suceden , responsabilidad del servicio hotelero que el personal no esta capacitado , es mi experiencia

Pueden mejorar muchas cosas como la coordinacion de las entrada al hotel para mi la peor experiencia, a la hora de sacar los restaurantes tienes que asesorarte bien porque no es lo que te cuentan a la hora de llegar al restaurant ejemplo el restaurante Japones pregunten sobre este especificamente cosas que pueden mejorar sin problema solo es cuestion de coordinacion.

La picsina muy buena la playa igual tienen algunos buffet que se vuelven restaurantes en la noche hacen actividades de show en la noche que te entretienen y la pasas bien ademas de discoteca y casino

El personal del buffet se ven un poco cansados obvio es trabajo pero es algo que se nota el agotamiento y en la noche solo tienen un sport bar abierto no hay mas nada en caso que tengas hambre.

Por mis conclusiones el hotel esta bueno si es para vacacionar con familia niños especialmente, esta muy bien, muchas picsinas para los nenes.

This was our first time experiencing an all inclusive resort so I don’t have anything to compare to. Check in was awful, rude employees would tell us to step up then walk away and wouldn’t help us. Took over 30 min for someone to finally help. They weren’t very clear on policies and instructions, especially for newbies. Food was ok, just edible enough so we weren’t hungry. Anytime we grabbed corn on the cob, it wasn’t cooked all the way and was very hard. Boat rentals were awesome! Water aerobics and zoomba were great and the staff was entertaining! I wish we got a rundown of the map better. We would have loved to rent a cabana on the adults only area but didn’t know it was there until the second to last day and they were all booked. If you want to watch any tv, bring a fire stick or something because we got maybe 2 English channels and we asked for help but no one came. Carlos was a great service to us though! From other frequent all inclusive resort go-ers, they said this was the best one they’ve been too!

You don’t even have to leave the resort there is so much to do and a ton of restaurants! The beach is beautiful and so are the pools!! We did the sea aquarium boat ride and that was the highlight of our trip for sure. The boat was a ton of fun, you got to snorkel with sharks and sting rays, and the staff were amazing!

The hotel is very large, elegant, and visually beautiful. The staff is extremely friendly and always willing to help with anything you need, which made the stay more enjoyable. However, the cleanliness of the rooms could definitely be improved. Another issue I noticed was a strong musty smell in some areas, such as the elevators and restaurants, which was unpleasant. Aside from these concerns, everything else was good and I had an overall positive experience.

Assistant Carlos - I asked to make restaurant reservations for 6-7pm, we are 2 little kids, like 3 weeks before arriving, somehow he scheduled for 7:45, 8:45 etc.
Rooms are old, wet inside, ACs leaking, 2 times issues with safebox. Need restoration.
Staff do not speaking minimum
English language.
For the same amount of money, we had much better experience in another Punta Cana hotel.

It was a family trip, and in our case, it wasn't the best experience. They need to improve customer service, especially providing information at check-in. There was little variety of food, and it was poorly prepared. The service at the buffet was poor.

Very big property. Very good places enjoy vacation.
I think they have to do whoever want to go to shopping outside of resorts, they have arranged car with fix time and safety. So people can outside food.
I stay 6 night in resorts eating same food is boring. If they take outside we can eat outside tooo with our money.
And very less vegetarian options please add more food
