Hotel is old, nasty black mold ceiling tile in the hallway, outlets in the room not working, and the desk chair was broken.
If you have heavy luggage I hope you are able to haul it up stairs because there is no elevator.

So going in I knew that there was not going to be any hot water and still I stayed. I was told at the front desk that I would be getting 20% discount. Since I had paid with Expedia I would have to get it back from them. When I called they said no I had to get it from Super 8. Needless to say it’s a classic he said she said and I know I will not see my discount.
We stayed 2 nights and they didn’t not make the bed between the 2. Some of the furniture was so stained up we were afraid to sit down.
I will say the staff at night let us sit in the lobby and eat dinner with the rest of our family.
I hope there is no reason that I will have to stay again.

I believe that when I booked my room I should have been told that they had no hot water. The same thing happened in Jan when I stayed there.
I traveled from north of Kansas City and when my sister passed away my family booked three rooms and then they called and said no hot water. There was no other place to stay in town and we had no choice.
Staff did not seem to care as they just said it is what it is. That it had been that way for months.
This is not the way to build business or to run a business. I have been a super 8 member for years and I will not ever stay in another.

The staff was courteous-but upon arrival we were told there was no hot water. The desk person said they had tried to notify us. Unfortunately, this was the only hotel in town, and we were not in a position to drive to another town.
The next morning, talking to a different desk clerk, who was apologetic and repeated that they had tried to contact us (I could find no emails or missed calls to support this claim) I asked if she thought it would be fixed -she responded that a whole new unit needed to be installed. I asked if we would get a discount, she said yes. Checking out the next day we reviewed our bill. It appears we received 10%. Just my opinion-but I feel no hot water deserved a larger discount.

We were saddened (really disappointed) when we discovered our room was on the second floor and there was no elevator. We are not a young couple and at times struggle attempting to negotiate stairs with suitcases. The desk attendant apologized and wished us luck getting up to our room.

The room itself wasn't bad, though it did have a few problems. 1, the lamp by the bed didn't work. Some connection issue with the knob that turns it on. 2, there's a tapping in the overhead vent above the toilet. Not sure what it was, but you could hear it throughout the night in room 217. No noisy neighbors, at least from where we were staying.

One problem i had, was when I checked in, you're forced to give your credit card under the description by the cashier \"Just in case you steal something\". I don't know if that hotel has a lot of theft going on but I'd like to not be considered as a thief right as i walk through the door from a 7 hour drive. Never ran into the cleaning crew but they respected us in not going into our room when we requested.

Breakfast is very small. You get coffee, milk, cereal, sweets, yogurt, and toast so no hot food. There's a few fast food joints nearby in Ava, so you can run and grab some hot food on the daily. Gas station right beside the hotel as well.

The desk clerk who put away the breakfast items handled the bread and put it back the bread package to use the next day. That is really gross. And, the cereal tasted stale, like it was months old, as was some of the fruit.

The place was not too bad, kinda small and no hot breakfast, however our room did Not have a microwave and when i called the desk i got nowhere and was told i could use the one downstairs inwhich there is no elevator, i wouldn't complain about the stairs if my spine and back werent in the shape they are. The beds are small so if there are 2 of ya mite wanna upgrade your room. On a good note they are pet friendly and a gas station is within walking distance. Staff was friendly

The amenities list daily housekeeping but we found out when returning for the day this does not include making the bed. This is not earth shattering but was surprising. We relayed this to the desk clerk, she was not interested, and a manager is not available. Otherwise the beds and pillows were comfortable. Rooms could be updated.

the room was 2nd floor no elevator we asked... very inconvenient for 3 older ladies, we booked 2 nights ..left after the 1st night tried to cancel, owner said we couldnt cancel because it was booked on line..he did offfer a room on 1st flloor when we said we werent staying , but we were not comfortable there..we wont stay there our next trip to Hannible... 2 nights for $150..00 you get what you pay for I guess..

I didn't like I come down at 6:30 and don't even have coffee made yet. There is a noise in the bathroom vent that was loud in one room and the toilet seat wouldn't stay up. They gave us another room and it was the same way except not as noisy in the bathroom vent but the toilet seat would not stay up and some of the staff just wasn't friendly.

I am not sure why there are so many negative reviews. I have stayed in many hotels and motels across North America and in other countries and had no issues at this location and I can be quite picky.
The building is clean and comfortable, and the staff are friendly. They have pet-friendly rooms with ample amount of outdoor space for dogs to run around. The breakfast bar and coffee were a nice extra feature.

Terrible experience. The furniture was stained by who knows what, the room was not serviced, the “continental breakfast” was slim Pickens. I was one of only a couple of guests in the hotel so it should not have been hard to take care of the room. The furniture was disgusting and needs to be replaced.

The pillows were old and well used. Sheets were scratchie. The bathroom, hairdryer did not work. The toilet sat very low. If you have a disability difficult to get off. No grab handles. Most electric wall plugs were not useable, loose, would not hold a plug. Continental breakfast was limited. With the price and the Wyndham name attached I expected at least a bit of quality. There was none.

Any property without an elevator is difficult for me. I was not able to reserve a handicap room, or even one on the first floor, even though my reservation was 3 months in advance. It is really the only hotel in the area. It was fine. I made the stairs. The beds were comfortable enough and everything was reasonably clean but dated. It served it's purpose, and I will try again next year to get one of the coveted 1st floor rooms. Breakfast is bread, packaged muffins and cereal in the wheel type dispenser. I almost always find cereal that way very stale, and much prefer the little boxes.

First, the pillows were AMAZING!!! I thought about swiping one, they were that comfortable.

But beware, Ava is a bit of a dead spot for cell service. That's fine, beyond the Super 8's control, but was in their control was the wifi which simply did not work. We were given the login info, but the wifi network would sporadically disappear from the list of provided networks, sometimes asking for a password, which didn't work, then connecting for a minute or two without a password before disappearing again. When i asked the clerk for help and suggested she reset the router, she just said it was always like that, and there was nothing she could do. We needed it for navigation and to finalize plans for the next day or it wouldn't have been a big deal but it would have been nice to know we would have no connection at the motel (going into town we were able to find a signal and connection that worked luckily).

There was a lizard in our room. We went to the front desk to ask for someone to come remove it. They said they were not going to touch a \"damn lizard\" and just asked, \"Well, is it big? Is it poisonous?\" I had to press them to call for maintenance to come get it. When maintenance didn't answer the call, I asked if we could get a new room. They just said no and asked again if it was a big lizard. I thought *maybe* they would offer a refund or a discount or do ANYTHING to be accommodating. Instead, they said, \"Welcome to Missouri!\" I said I live in Missouri and don't have lizards.\" Finally, we had to remove it ourselves. I wanted to throw it behind the front desk but decided the nice thing to do is just take it outside to the bushes. Poor, poor service and bad attitude from the concierge.

I booked my reservation online and I read that I could use my card to reserve the room but it gave me the option to pay when I got to the hotel. When I arrived it was late because I drove from two states away and the clerk said she could not take my cash money only because she did not have the money to give change. I really thought I was going to end up staying in the rental car that I drove there. If it hadn't been for someone I know paying with a credit card over the phone I would not have had a room to stay in all because the clerk said she didn't have the money to give back change

I wasn't expecting much out of a 2-star hotel. My expectations were a bit high, apparently. I was shocked there were only 2 pillows on the bed and they had no more pillows in the entire hotel. Extremely uncomfortable for 2 people. I was shocked that the room had a tiny stall shower and had not been updated. I was shocked that the toilet was low to the ground and not updated. These are basics. I had expected a full-size fridge in my room, since that is what is pictured on the website pics. There was only a small fridge. When you have a kitchen area for your guests, it would be nice to have things like a dishtowel, dishcloth, and some dish soap. That is very inexpensive and would make things a bit easier for your guests. The other issue I have is this hotel is way off the beaten path. It was miles from the main area of town. I would think business would be better down by walmart and all the restaurants and such; certainly more convenient. The bright spot in all of this was the woman who checked us in was very nice and did her job well. Otherwise, I walked away hoping I never have a situation where the best hotel in town is a Super 8 and I have to choose that or nothing. There is a lot to be learned from some of the other chains out there to make your guests more comfortable.

That is number one priority for me, so I appreciated the cleanliness so much! It's just a great, affordable and clean place to stay while in the area. It was my second time staying here.
