Room 211 was perfect. The balcony was large, had a private jacuzzi, and a beautiful and unobstructed view of the sea. The staff was warm, welcoming, and super helpful. It was only a 12-13 minute walk to the old town. We would stay there again and again.

This is a lovely hotel in a great location…10-15 minute walk to the old town with restaurants and shops. The ocean views are wonderful with chairs all Ali g side in order to enjoy it. The ocean is reachable by a staircase…lots of stairs but I felt safe using them. Our room was large, beds and pillows were comfy. The room was cleaned every day. Breakfast which was included was delicious with lots of variety. The staff were all very friendly. Francesco is the bartender and was always there when we wanted a drink and snacks. He made great Mai Tais. There is a small pool…about twice the size of a hot tub. This little pool came in handy for me when I reached the top of the stairs from the beach…very refreshing. Beautiful outdoor lounges and table and chairs. My one complaint would be their hair dryers…just a nozzle really with hot air. Other than that, I would highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

I was assigned a wheelchair room and it was not suitable to us. The bathroom facility was terrible. The toilet was so high I couldn’t touch the floor. Staff was average in accommodating our requests. Always felt like I was asking too much even if it was just for ice for our room. Towels were very worn. Apart from that view was amazing.

Expected more for the price point

This hotell is in prime position, overlooking the water and a 12 minute walk into the town centre. To get to the beach, they have stairs (184 steps, i counted) snd you can either sit on one of the private beaches, or like us, buy a €10 umbrella and ger comfy on the sand (the hotel supllies brach towels, no limit). The staff were all anszjng snd accommodating, could not fault them. Always ups for a chat, with a smile and they even laughed at our Aussie humour.
Our room (305, seaview) was ok sized, with a great L shaped balcony overlooking the sea. The room was a little tired looking, the rain shower didn’t work well as most of the holes were rusted and clogged, but tge hand help shower was supee poweful, so i was happy with that.
The breakfast was ggod, greek yoghurt, fruit, museli, nuts, cold meats, cheeses, bread, cakes, boiled eggs, bacon scambled eggs, sausages, espresso coffees (whatever you like), tea, juices and water.
All in all in was a good 4 star hotel, but for the average price we paid €390/night, ww have stayed in better. But you do pay for the view. Also, the pool is a plunge pool/spa, not very large, so if like us you wanted a pool to swim, then be aware of this. Would i go back there....hmmm, i did love the position and the staff but fir the price, probably not

Georgia was awesome as well as the ladies at the coffee/bar/ restaurant !
Perfect location with steep steps to the rocky beach. If you prefer sandy beach you need to walk towards the city center which is about 15 minutes away.
We didn’t mind walking as we love the exercise and helps to walk off the drinks / food ! Lots of restaurants in the area in town.

This place is simply incredible! My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights and were so impressed with the hotel and incredible views over the Tyrrhenian Sea. The resort was clean and safe, the beds very comfortable and the staff always friendly and helpful. The terrace is absolutely pristine and we felt like we had it all to ourselves at times during our October visit. The historic old town centre with plenty of restaurants and shopping is a short 7-8 minute walk away. Check out the Santuario Santa Maria dell'Isola and the beautiful sand beaches surrounding it. Shout out to Selena, Pawel the bartender and all the staff for making this trip such a memorable experience. This place will not dissapoint you and we look forward to coming back to Tropea and staying at Hotel Rocca Della Sena in the near future.

My family and I have been fortunate to travel a lot and this hotel, the location, and staff was the absolute best. From check-in, we realized we were going to have a great time. Georgia made us feel welcome, spent time with us giving us information, and introduced us to Pavel, the bartender and he immediately made us feel like we’ve known each other for many years. The complementary Prosecco was an absolute treat and we had it while sitting in the outside patio that was magnificent and the view was out of this world. Thanks also to Selina and the two young ladies that served at breakfast. We would recommend this hotel for all that it offers but the staff is above and beyond expectation. Beautiful Property high above the beach in Tropea. The staff here really make it wonderful - incredible views. Small, but refreshing pool. Bartender makes great limoncello spritzs. Excellent breakfast with lots of fresh fruit. We had a room with huge patio and jaccuzi bathtub on patio, which was nice at night without the heat on. Room on the small side - shower in room had paint peeling on bottom & hard help shower attachment holder was gross - has been repaired a lot. Otherwise, very pleasant and again, that patio was fabulous. The staff her really make it special. We sure and go all the way into Tropea's old town for great restaurants and wonderful strolls at night.

This was the worst room accommodation of all the hotels we stayed at (8 of them) on our trip. What was pictured in the photos on Expedia of the rooms was not what we received. When we asked the staff to move they said they were sold out and could not move us. I really felt that this was not what we booked. The room was a lot of money and it was so awful. I considered booking another hotel when we arrived, but we would lose all our paid money since it was non-refundable, so we stayed.

The staff and facilities were overall nice, they had limited dining facilities and the location was not what we expected, but the view from the deck was beautiful, too bad you couldn't dine out there for breakfast.

This hotel is not a true luxury hotel but the views are beautiful and if you don't mind being inconvenienced, it may be for you, but book a sea view room or otherwise, the room will disappoint you.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Rocca della Sena. The boutique hotel offering only 15 rooms is a quiet, off the beaten path hotel option for those who wish to stay in Tropea but not in the hustle and bustle of it all. The staff is so nice and accomodating--they'll book you restaurant reservations, excursions, taxis, make recommendations, etc. The hotel beds and pillows are sooo comfy--we could have slept for days! The hotel is a quick 8 minute walk to the main drag of Tropea. Very clean, modern and new. We'll definitely be back!

We loved the property and the staff. They were so nice! Especially to us, as Americans with very knowledge of the language. The location is an easy, short walk from the old town. They shared a complimentary drink upon arrival, sunset for us. The breakfast was excellent, and huge. My complaints are very, VERY minor. The room lighting uses compact fluorescents, and could be updated to a warmer LED. I would stay there again.

A very cute boutique property. It was close enough to walk to the Centro, but yet far enough from the noise and crowds. Our room unfortunately was facing the street and had no balcony with only a small window, so it was quite naturally dark. I’m the sure ocean view rooms were much better. The staff were kind and tried to accommodate our requests.

This was the perfect little hotel. Rooms were very well planned out with large balconies with beautiful views of the ocean. The property had straits going down to the beach and the staff were very helpful with directions and suggestions. The property is also only a 10 min walk to the old town. Which is full or restaurants, shops and a beautiful view of the sea. This property had everything you could ask for. One of our favorites on this trip. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly which made us feel very welcome.

We arrived exhausted. Christina met us a check in, answered all our questions, gave us a quick tour of the property and left us to settle in to our room with the most breathtaking view. Once we were rested we wet to the patio to lounge and get some sun, again Christina greeted us and promptly delivered a welcome drink to us. She suggested several restauarants for dinner and again mentioned the breakfast hours in the morning, Breakfast was much more than we expected. This entire inn was simply first class, we had travelled for 12 nights in Italy, hands down Hotel Rocco Della Sean was the best and we will be back when we are in the area next year. A real gem,

View was excellent. while we had an ocean view room the only window was the door and that was not private so mostly the only view was during breakfast which was the best we have had in two trips to italy. One plus was the selection, another was the croissants were kept and a warmer that made them even better. Lastly fresh orange juice that was tremendous.
The nearby old town (10 minute walk) was lots of fun with many great restaurants to chose from.

We travelled with friends in Sicily and Southern Italy in October 2018. Our best piece of advice is DO NOT USE GPS when driving. All of the places we booked in advance provided us with written directions on how to get there. To our peril we ignored the directions and added many unnecessary miles onto our drives to our hotels. The reason is that Italy is not mapped on GPS.
We arrived at Hotel Rocco della Sena about mid afternoon. There is a lovely terrace overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and the beaches which were about 75 feel below us. We sat having drinks and enjoyed the beautiful sunset. The hotel made a dinner reservation at a nearby restaurant which as very good.
Tropea was relatively quiet in early October, I suspect it must be extremely busy in the summer month.
Our room was clean with a good size bathroom. We would stay here again.

Good location, a pleasant 10 minute walk to the centre of Tropea old town. Views are fantastic, especially at sunset when you can watch the sun setting over Stromboli volcano. Staff are helpful, although a little robotic, breakfast is good, overall building and rooms feel outdated and in need of a refresh. Everything is quite dark and dreary. Price of hotel felt very expensive for what we were getting.

Below 5 star expectations

The hotel staff was great- very friendly. The hotel room was small and the shower had mold growing in it. It was very hot in the room, after consulting with the front desk they stated the air was off but that they would turn it on. We waited a few minutes and the fan was working but the air was not cold. We barely slept due to the extreme heat. This hotel, despite the nice staff, is far from a 5 star hotel, mich closer to a 3 star, possibly 3.5.
