Constant horrible smell emanating from the toilet. Hotel and rooms are dated. TV was from the 80s (or old enough to be upgraded). Horrible experience. Will not stay again and would not recommend. Total disappointment

Great stay. Clean room, beds were excellent, plenty of towels, excellent location with many highly rated restaurants right around the corner, competitive pricing. One drawback is the bedding is not changed unless you request it. But overall, a high quality hotel.

I love this hotel. It is beautiful, great staff, walking distance to the best of New Haven and affordable. We have stayed there before and will be back again and again! FYI for those of you planning on sampling the “pizza”. It’s called appiza (ah beets) and there is nothing like it in the world. Grew up there…total appiza snob. Skip the touristy spots on Wooster and hit up something local (Bar or Modern).

This is a clean, well-functioning hotel surrounded by many restaurants, bars and nightclubs I would strongly recommend this place to rest while you are in New haven. I would choose this place over more expensive neighboring hotels.

With an advantageous location near Yale University and the Tweed New Haven Airport with plenty of activities and sights to see, the New Haven Hotel is well worth it. The staff were wonderful and helpful. The property was well-managed and clean. The coffee is free, but breakfast and snack items in the lobby are not free. Besides the food fee and my room lacking a microwave, it was a nice stay. Expensive, but safe and clean. Be blessed.

This was my first time staying here and it was great. It’s close to downtown New Haven which means most things are in walking distance. The hotel is extremely nice, very well decorated, and clean. Every staff member I encountered was friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to help accommodate me. The rooms were spacious and the TV came equipped with both apps and casting abilities which was a plus for me cause I didn’t have to sign in to my accounts which I hate doing. This is definitely my new go to hotel when I come to Connecticut.

Great room, kind staff, very clean atmosphere. My only qualm was the parking situation. It’s downtown New Haven so it’s to be expected, but we didn’t know there was an attached parking garage available, so we walked a block to another garage. Which made no difference to our trip at all as we wanted to explore downtown anyway.

The property is centrally located to Yale, Toads for concerts, is close to highway and train station. Great restaurants within a short walk. One recommendation would be a locked entry from the parking garage as there is direct access to the hotel room floors. The garage is also gated, but the added layer would have made me feel more secure. Overall, great stay and I’d definitely come back!

It’s in a great location but is a bit long in the tooth for the money they charge per night. On the plus side there is garage parking right across the street that is included. The staff were very friendly. The rooms were a bit shoddy but ok.

The staff at the New Haven Hotel are wonderful but we had a pretty unpleasant night's sleep. The air conditioning broke down in the whole building, they sent a loud fan to our room to compensate, and because we had the window open we got bit up by mosquitos. This may have been a one off but the hotel never responded to our messages about this issue. Poor communication is a deal breaker.

Front desk staff made my check in quick and easy, answered my questions re: parking w/o issue. Since we arrived after 8pm, I really appreciated the security of the parking garage across the street (gated w/ key card access) and the ease of getting to the hotel from the sky bridge. The room was clean and comfortable. I'd definitely stay here again!

I use a recumbent bicycle for daily exercise. Only bicycle offered was a peloton.
OK but not my prefeence. Exercise room otherwise ok: treadmill, elliptical, universal gym and free weights.

The complimentary coffee was much appreciated. The staff were so great and helpful, and genuinely want your stay to be as perfect as possible. One thing that was repeatedly bothersome, even at 7:00 a.m., was the overly loud music in the back of the lobby area, and it was not calming music, it was loud dance music and a style of music that does not appeal to all audiences. It would be much more pleasurable if it was half the volume and a mix of music genres so all guests can feel more comfortable. The volume made it difficult to relax and get work done. Everything else about our stay was great.

If it was for the excellent staff...i would have found another place to stay. The air conditioning didnt work for all 3 days of our stay putting out over 80 plus air into our room. The maintenance man couldnt fix it and found a box fan and and an oscillating fan but that was all he had

I arrived in the 9p hour after a long day at work and it was a relief to get quickly checked in, easily park my car, and head to my room. The room was immaculate and the temperature was just right. Slept like a log, woke up to a fantastic shower, easy checkout and back on the road. A terrific way station in my Alma mater’s town en route to a much more expensive room in The City.

The common areas looked a little worn and outdated. More outlets near the bed would be helpful.

The room cleaning was about 7.5:10. There were crumbs on the chair and a hair in the shower area.

But the bed was very comfortable and the bedding very cozy.

This was one of the most comfortable and well-located stays I've had in a long time. Spacious room, very comfortable bed and pillows, room temp was just right, and plenty of incredible New Haven favorites within feet of the hotel. Room style could be updated but when everything else checks the box, I can look past carpet and wall color choices. Absolutely would stay again!

New Haven Hotel is a tremendous alternative to the several other boutique hotels in New Haven. While not quite as fancy, it is a well-maintained comfortable location located a couple of blocks from Yale and all the great things in downtown New Haven, but at much less cost than the others, and the convenience of its self-park garage with a walkway over the street is fabulous (the others have no parking and valet is required). The hundreds saved staying here in a nice relaxed location will pay for the rest of your trip.

Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are in good shape and clean. 24-hour snacks in the lobby. The only issue is exterior the hotel. It is in a busy area with a lot of partying happening; on weekend nights, the loud music can persist till 2 am. Bring your earplugs!

The property is located next to a nightclub, so spending Friday and Saturday nights at this hotel was absolutely unbearable. Because of this, I requested to leave earlier than originally planned and I was told it was not a problem, so I changed my plans and checked out on Sunday morning. The narrative changed and they started charging my card almost random numbers. I called several times only to be forwarded to the manager who did not respond to my calls. Luckily, one host was kind enough to listen to the entire story and

All that was very helpful for us to settle into our soon to be new home in Woodbridge- about 5 miles from the hotel.

The “breakfast menu” like all available food, consists of packaged items (including yogurt and cut fruit) in a refrigerator case. It’s okay for a grab and go ( the urn for free coffee was empty) but not for a sit down and eat meal.

Front desk staff are always friendly and helpful. This is a good, clean, simple hotel that delivers comfortable beds at a reasonable price in downtown New Haven. No frills.

I had a great stay at the New Haven Hotel. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond by offering helpful tips on local places to eat, which made the trip even better. There was plenty of parking available, which made coming and going easy and stress-free. The hotel itself was very clean throughout, and the beds were comfortable, making it easy to relax and get a good night’s sleep. I would definitely stay here again.
