Bed was top notch. Breakfast sufficient. Pool and whirlpool well maintained. Sometimes i get the feeling that it stays a challenge for hotels to maintain the moisture in the pool areas, in terms of cleanliness and smell (either from chlorine or molds). Definitely not the case for this hotel.

A weekend away

This was our first time at the hotel as we were visiting the area due to a friends wedding.
Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and always very helpful, specially when we had an issue with the charging point for our car. They were able to fix it and did it always being so polite and friendly.
The breakfast is very good, with a lot of choice/options.
The location is just fantastic, the fact we wake up to the sound of birds is added bonus.
The only thing I found could be improved: gym facilities and coffee/tea set up in the room to include espresso machine etc.

No where quite like it ! Hotel with superb spa hidden in the woods with great run, bike and walking trails around and some spectacular architect designed properties here and there to spot .Plenty of bikes available at the hotel to explore . Breakfast variety impressive . This is the place to escape .

Beautiful woodland location, gorgeous hotel, luxurious furnishings, very comfy beds. Great restaurant, we loved the food here, prices were good. ( we had dinner in the bistro) .Breakfast was delicious with good choices. Wish we could have stayed more than one night to enjoy this fabulous hotel. I would definitely return here.

Wonderful weekend retreat hidden away in the woods. So well hidden your sat nav won't find it easily but well worth the discovery .
Almost country house style weekend escape with spa/pool /sauna and choice of dining. Five min drive or pleasant 20 min walk to Thialf .

The hotel is set in the woods
Great place.
The Hotel was very very warm the rooms hall ways and this did not help me sleep
i asked at the front desk but was told that there is nothing they could do because of the weather the last week the hotle was very warm or very cold.
Well great nothing to do but pity you could can adjust the temp in the rooms
wishd to open the window but could only open full so could not open a little and lock so did not like to open when i was sleeping or out of the room.
Breakfast was not bad but the layout of the food was not great and people had to wait and side step to get to the food. took time to refill the buffet , was very busy but i take the staff know how many people are staying in the hotel .
No sure if i would say the hotel was worth the money but it not bad.

The location is very nice - lots of nice walks in the forest surrounding the hotel. The check in process was (somewhat) easy and the rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast is good too. The reason for giving it 3 stars is the mess up they made with breakfast - whether this is included in our booking or not. I was told at check in (I specifically asked) that breakfast was included. But I was getting charged when I was checking out. The lady did take 50% off at the end, but the mess up shouldn't have happened in the first place.

This Hotel was the best we stayed in during our 2 wk. travel in Europe. Beautiful location in a large historical forest not far from a lovely town. Excellent food and service. The ambience was par excellence -- gezellig in Dutch. Should be rated as a 5*.

Excellent location for a one night stay in Friesland! This hotel is located in the woods in a very nice rural neighborhood. Room was spacious and very clean and comfortable with a good bath room. Location is very convenient to major highways. We could only stay one night so we could not enjoy the pool and other amenities offered. Only minus was lack of air conditioning in the middle of a heat wave. Very good free breakfast included in the price. Will definitely stay here again

Oranjewoud is weer een zelfstandig hotel. Dat merk je, nog meer gastvrijheid en plannen voor een upgrade van het hotel. Schitterende omgeving en geweldig hotel. Mooie kamers en goed en gratis parkeren. Loopafstand naar museum Belvedere, een leuke wandeling er naar toe.

Fijn hotel met veel wandelmogelijkheden. Zwembad en bubbelbad was heerlijk. Uitgebreid ontbijt met ruime tijden. We konden wel tot 11u ontbijten. Door corona roomservice voor het avondeten, stond een mooie gedekte tafel in onze kamer, erg goed geregeld. Fijne medewerkers, ze maken het beste van een lastige situatie.

Superfijne plek dichtbij Heerenveen, midden in de bossen. Stil, ruime kamers, ik werd ook nog eens geüpgrade. Ik verloor mijn handschoen op de parkeerplaats en die werd nagestuurd, top service kortom en zeer vriendelijk personeel.

Tolle Lage mit schlechten Service

Leider war das Personal durchgehend unfreundlich und nicht kompetent. Zudem war es nicht lösungsorientiert! Eine Restaurant Buchung wurde leider von der Rezeption vergessen. Resultat war, wir hatten kein Tisch und somit kein Abendessen. Es gab auch keine andere Lösung oder eine spätere Uhrzeit die uns angeboten wurde. Natürlich gab es auch keine Entschuldigung. Für ein Haus mit vier Sternen eigentlich eine Bankrott Erklärung. Ich würde hier nie wieder buchen!

Het hotel heeft een luxe uitstraling met veel comfort. Het personeel is ontzettend vriendelijk en de kamer schoon, luxe en comfortabel. Het ontbijt is uitgebreid genoeg en wat warm hoort te zijn is ook warm. Het zwembad is goed en het sauna gedeelte relatief uitgebreid. Er was ruimte genoeg om gratis te parkeren op het terrein van het hotel, inclusief laadpalen (zelf geen gebruik van gemaakt). Een luxe, volledig hotel!

Mooi hotel, vriendelijke medewerkers, schone kamer. Volgende keer boeken we de comfort kamer die niet uitkijkt op het fietsenrek en bij de airco's is. Net iets teveel geluid. Maar hotel ligt op zo'n mooie plek in het bos, de vogeltjes die je hoort maken erg veel goed. Ook heerlijk gegeten, met hele gezellige bedieningl We komen graag terug!

Dit hotel stond in mijn persoonlijke top 3. Na het laatste bezoek uit de top 10 gezakt.
Het douchen 's ochtends is waardeloos, afwisselend ijskoud of veel te heet. Zou mijn (klein-)kinderen er niet onder durven te zetten. De WiFi liet ook te wensen over op de kamer. Hotel ligt wel op prachtige locatie en ontbijt is goed, al was de koffie aan de matige kant.
