I didn't like that Expedia charged me $100 cancelation fee because I arrived after check in time & the property wouldn't honor Expedia prices. Pool had no closed sign but when asked if we can swim Attendee said no it had to be tested.

Although the Property is dated, room was clean , air worked well. Wish there was a coffee maker in room. Staff was friendly . Yes there are train tracks near by and you will hear it but it wasn’t horrible. Not a place for a long stay but a night or two it’s perfect. Lots of restaurants and shopping near by.

Check-in was a nightmare. I had been traveling all day, especially fighting traffic, I just wanted to check in quickly. Instead when I got there at 7PM, the lobby was completely locked up and there was no one there. I might expect that after 11 but not at 7PM. I was about 2 minutes from leaving. When she finally came out, the frond desk clerk said she was in the bathroom. However I’ve done that job. You leave a “Be back in 5 minutes” sign where guest can see it:

The lady who checked me in was 10 times nicer and more professional than the last time I stayed there. The room was clean, the bed was comfy plenty of food and beverage close by. Nice long hot shower with excellent water pressure. A very pleasant day.

The room was clean. TV didn't work, somebody slapped on some paint in the rooms and badly at that, no coffee maker in the rooms. Very noisy -people grilling outside, drinking. I would have check-out early but I was in a time crunch. Way over priced for what you get. Plenty of places to eat with in walking distance if that's all you need.

I am not one to complain about poor service, I realize things happen and maybe get missed.
This was by far the most appalling stay in a hotel/motel I have ever experienced. From moment I walked in, the floor was dirty, the bathroom light didn’t work correctly, and the noise from upstairs could not be more intrusive. I had a 4 day, 3 night booking, and I ended up leaving. On the night of my second stay, after a 10 hour work day, I came home to find that my bed was unmade (let alone sheets changed), none of my towels were refreshed (the used ones were refolded) and there was a chicken bone on the floor under the sink. Not only was my room not cleaned, someone decided to have a snack and not clean up after themselves. I was uncomfortable with staying another night, so I ended up staying with my coworkers. Terrible, awful service.

The hotel was filthy in general. And the area of town was questionable at best. It looked alright at first while going through the scenic downtown, but that quickly went down hill. The furniture was extremely stained and failing apart. Several pieces were missing. There were wet towels in our room on the tub and the floor was soaked. it appeared as if someone had just taken a shower moments before we walked in. While I didn’t have high hopes booking so last minute the pictures didn’t look as bad as it was in real life. I didn’t think it would be bad enough where I wouldn’t be comfortable staying. I’ve never abandoned a booking in my life. But I didn’t feel safe staying.

Train horns at 4am the people that live there are coming and going so you hear the cars starting alot. beds hard like sleeping on the floor with a blanket down. All the wall outlets wouldnt hold a charger in them to loose.

The microwave was rusty inside. The air conditioning was very noisy, and the bathroom had no separate switch for the light. The beds were not very comfortable. I didnt sleep very well while staying here due to the air conditioning noise, road noise, and uncomfortable bed. Cleaning staff was noce, but the room smelled like wet mop after the floor was cleaned.

Not the place for a restful sleep

Worn out room. Stains in bathtub, only 3 bath towels, 2 hand towels (old and ratty), no washrags, hairdryer don’t work, rough sheets and horrible pillows. No lamps, lights by the bed. Have an overhead light with switch across the room. Not worth the amount they charged. Desk clerk checking in was very nice.

Shocked - NOT for Travelers

I wish we had left but I had a reservation for 4 nights and couldn't afford to lose the money. I should have tried to get out, in hindsight.

-Towels were stained, threadbare & should have been replaced years ago.
-Mattress cover under sheets was heavily stained. I noticed when I checked for bed bugs.
-Although a non-smoking unit, the blanket had burn marks in it so they aren't careful about only non-smoking linens in non-smoking rooms.
-The upright chair had a greasy stain on the back and dirty arm rests (wish I had taken a picture)
-There was grime on doors & trim.
-The exterior lights were not entirely blocked by the curtains so \"daylight\" streamed in all night long.
-The fridge did not sufficiently cool anything and I lost some leftovers. I used a trashcan full of ice and used it primarily as a cooler.
-My son and I went to breakfast around 7:30 am the first morning. All of the fruit was gone so I asked if we could have some. The response was, \"No, we don't restock. You should come down at 6:00 before the workers get everything.\"
-The rooms were mostly occupied by migrant workers who hung out in the parking lot at night, working on cars, listening to music, smoking, and drinking. I did not feel unsafe, though, so that isn't the point of this comment. It's who the motel caters to - they do not cater to the traveler. This is probably why the rooms look the way they do because they act more like temporary apartments for the workers who eventually move on to the next job.

Rooms were subpar. Refrigerator did not work, no hair dryer in the room even though it was listed on the website. Holes in the curtain. Bed was comfy. Person working the front desk in the mornings was not very friendly. If you don’t mind the smell of pot coming from other rooms, it’s a great place to stay.

I pulled into the parking lot after a long day and there were four police cruisers; not overly reassuring about the area! Check-in went fine; the woman was very apologetic about the police being there; some sort of domestic abuse. Room was about as basic as I have ever seen; floors were very dirty as evidenced by the soles of my feet. There was only one outlet in the room that I could find so I had to unplug the microwave to charge my phone. The free breakfast was a nice surprise, although it was very limited.

Booked this before a UGA night game. When i got there they said there would be an additional $50 deposit for a smoking room and a $100 deposit for non smoking room. Never heard of such a thing. We were tired so i paid the deposit. Room was dirty with cigarette burns on the bedding. Pillows were so flat you had to stake all 3 to make one normal pillow. We just slept a few hours got up and left early. Would have been better off just driving home that night.

When we checked in the fire alarm in our double room was chirping. Lady at desk said she’d have battery changed. When we got back at 1am it was not fixed. So we were moved to another room. It was a smoking room. Yuck. And a king bed w only 3 tiny pillows. Cigarette burns on blanket ,sheets and pillow cases not clean, toilet seat not connected, empty beer can behind bathroom door, large fluid stain on mattress and sheets. Probably the worst hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. I have pics of all of this to prove.

The front staff was very friendly. Upon first glance the room seemed nice, but then I notice there was a large section of the ceiling in front of the door where the paint/plaster was peeling off. The toilet was also not attached to the floor and wobbled every time I sat down. The shower head did not spray out very far so I literally had to shower with my back up against the wall under the shower head. The bed was comfortable and seemed very clean.

I liked that the room was quiet. I did not like that the bed was too springy and uncimfirtable. I had to sleep on the pillows to keep the springs from pokong me. Also, there was a screw missing on the toilet seat so it would slide. Finally, the webs8te said there was a game room but there wasn't one.

We choose to stay at Jameson Inn Winder despite the horrible reviews. It is a motel so we weren’t expecting much.
We were pleasantly surprised to find clean floors throughout the room instead of dirty carpets. The bedding was clean, the toilet flushed and the shower had pressure and hot water. The microwave and mini fridge worked great and were clean.
Breakfast is only until 9am but had enough choices and a waffle maker. Staff were nice and helpful.
The building is brightly illuminated all night for safety which comes through the side of the curtains making it hard to stay asleep as you assume it’s daytime already. Should’ve use a towel to cover the space.

We would stay here again as it is budget friendly and close to Athens.

Well, there is a $100. deposit per room in addition to the room rate. If you’re in need of a place to take a shower and sleep with nothing extra then this is a stop to consider. The breakfast was coffee, tea, bagels, cereal and a waffle maker. The juice maker was out of order.

The phone, alarm clock, & microwave were not connected. I could not connect to the internet from my room! I have never NOT been able to connect to the internet anywhere from my iPhone. Not even in the mountains where signals are less. I had to physically walk to the office to get near their wifi.

Everything ! The place is horrendous and disgusting… I’m surprised they even have a business .. nothing seems up to code.
We left as early as possible because we just wanted to get out of there because we couldn’t cancel unfortunately due to the fact we came all the way from (City) and by the time we saw the room it was too late to cancel. By far the worst place to stay. Don't even bother. The lady who checked us in made us feel so unwelcomed. This stay was a nightmare.

My husband and I show up for our reservation to an uncleaned room. The sheets and bedding were used and not even tucked in. The sink was covered in someone else’s hair. The floor had dead bugs on it and had not been swept. When we contacted the front desk about the state of the room, we were told there were no other rooms and we would have to contact the manager to request a refund. I contacted the manager and requested a refund, and no one ever reached back out to me. I was not expecting a 5-star hotel, I was only expecting a clean room for the night. In addition to the room being dirty, the parking lot was full of cops and loiterers after dark. The atmosphere did not feel safe. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone ever. I would give it zero stars.

Bed clean; however, sink doesn't drain well, little black pieces come out of faucet, toilet seat is loose, tub/shower faucet has broken pieces, and half of the lights in main area don't work. TV remote has missing cover, and the floor is quite dirty. Not sure, but there might be a night stand light missing. A little TLC and the place would be great, but because of the broken/missing items and housekeeping not completely cleaning the room, I am only giving 2 and 3 stars.

When we arrived electricity was out. Unable to get into room. We were exhausted and somewhere to go. They would not let my wife use the restroom. The hotel staff did not have any compassion or empathy regarding situation . Arrived at 9:30 p.m. at night . Weather was terrible . Only advice was wait until electricity comes on in your car. Unbelievable and acceptable.

Jameson Inn is very family friendly. Perfect area for a walk into downtown Winder and many options to eat from. Historical sites and all. Groceries stores not too far away and 2 pharmacies in the vicinity. Everyone is always so kind and thoughtful. Thank you all for everything!

I have never been so disappointed in a stay at any hotel/motel! I was there for 3 days and my room not once got cleaned, sheets changed or bed made I’ve never had this happen then on top of that the gentleman at the front desk was absolutely rude, non professional and not helpful at all. I got bit by something while there and it’s being treated as a spider bite with the infection. Not happy at all will never be back here at the Jameson Inn in Winder, GA😡😡😡😡

Overall it was fine. No major issues. But \"free\" breakfast was among the least appealing I've ever encountered at a motel. Also, first night the only sheet was the form-fitting mattress sheet; nothing between me and the (thin) blanket. Second night there was a second sheet. Yay!

Only stayed one of the 3 nights I had reserved. Would not have stayed that night but, was late at night arriving. Persons passed out in hallway, brown water came out of the shower which the shower head was being held up by a toilet paper roll. When I checked out the next morning they would not give authorization to Expedia for a refund to me for the other 2 nights and told me to GO TO HELL!!

I was very disappointed. When I opened the door to my room it looked like I had stepped back into 1985. Everything was outdated. I couldn't use the deadbolt lock. It wouldn't turn all the way to lock. The bed was hard as a rock. There were only 2 positive things. The water pressure in the shower and the water was very hot. The 2nd positive thing was the lady at the front desk. She was very friendly and helpful. She had assigned me a 2nd floor room. I explained to her that I had arthritic knees. She then switched me to a 1st floor room. Overall, the place needs a massive upgrade. C'mon into the 21st Century it'll be ok.
