Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was smaller than our other hotel rooms during our trip which was fine. This is a basic hotel room that will charge you for additional housekeeping bring the first time, which didn't affect us, but thought it was worth mentioning. I also had a 2000 yen charge upon arrival even though I booked through Expedia and paid ahead of time. Wasn't worth it to me to start investigating for $14 cost, but unsure what it was for. Place gets the job done for a short stay.

If you're like me and just need a bed to sleep in, its perfect. One towel per guest policy. Wifi was awful and wouldn't work in my room but luckily I had my portable wifi 😅 Right next door to the station, great location. Staff were helpful and spoke great english. For women bring hair conditioner, they have shampoo and body wash in the shower room. The hair dryer takes a lifetime to dry your hair so maybe bring your own but its not necessary. Familymart next foor and a lovely ice cream hut. Have fun! Osaka is amazing ✨️

I set up a NON- smoking room. Also advertised was AC. The capsule was in a general smoking area and a door that when closed, still has a one foot gap on top to allow circulation ( no AC) so the room was smokey. I notified staff and they tried showing me another capsule to stay in to which all are under the same circumstances. General smoking area and no AC and door gap which allows smoke to come into room. I demanded a refund which has already been a challenging process. I had to get another hotel last minute. Very misleading set up. I do not recommend for anyone as a non smoker

At the time of checking in staff was not friendly, they gave us only one key to the room even though we asked for additional keys for the each guest, it was 3 of us adults staying there. Room was very loud, you can hear loud guests outside in a hallway, our room was across from laundry. Room itself had a terrible smell inside from tatami floor. Bathroom is outdated and had a mold. Outside of hotel near the entrance smells like urine and we saw a couple homeless drunk people sitting on the ground. I would never stay there again, and will not recommend it to anyone.

Great price, but quite noisy.

Very nice and convenient location. However, you get what you pay for. The hotel is right next to the train tracks and so the sound of the trains going by can be heard from very early in the morning until late at night. In addition, I could hear the coin laundry very clearly in my room at all times of the day.

I really didn’t mind the dorm room style unit. I had a bed, table, mini fridge, and a personal bidet.

Only thing is the sinks in the hallway to brush your teeth and a separate floor for showers. But that wasn’t a big deal.

It’s a short walk to the metro and from there it’s 2 stops from Dotonburi. About 15 min walk to Shinsekai (like a miniature Dotonburi).

I appreciated walking back into my room after walking the streets of Osaka.

IF YOU WRE A WOMAN DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!! If you are anyone who prioritizes their safety, sleeping comfortably, and enjoy a clean environment, this is not the place. The entire hotel reeks, the blankets barely cover you (I’m 5’5”), and there is no sink or shower in your room. The women’s community showers do NOT have a lock on the entrance dood, nor do the stalls; anyone could walk in on you at anytime. The showers themselves are also dirty. The mat to enter/exit the showers are completely soaked, I stepped on a used press on nail in the shower, and the shower itself kept making banging noises. The staff do not clean your rooms, and the rooms smell. This place is genuinely horrible and ghetto. I wish I never booked here.

Not suitable for adults, room is too small, you have to contort yourself to enter the bathroom, which makes it dangerous to use. Rooms are not serviced daily, if you want a fresh towels you have to take your used towels down to reception for exchange of new towels. Only paper cups provided for tea/coffee, which are used for the length of your stay. Walls are very thin you can hear next door very loudly, which affects your stay/sleep. Pay the extra money for a better hotel.

The pictures were misleading. The bunks we okay but the pad or mattress we were sleeping on were awful. Hardly slept both nights of our stay. The showers were the best part, the water pressure was the only saving grace of the property. The bathroom had a stench everytime we went. They also weren't in an easy location to eat before going about our day. We were able to eat in the vending room area but there were only 2 chairs and 1 table. No one else could eat near us. The lobby had bunches of seats around a big table but no food or drink were allowed. Overall, I would recommend not to stay here. The beds, lounge (lack of), and bathroom were just too much.

Positives- staff and reception were helpful, convenient for PT, essentially right next to a variety of station for different lines on Osaka Metro.

Negatives- Property was in the middle of renovation so some awkwardness is forgiven, but showers were on a completely different floor to majority of the guest rooms, women’s shower facilities were lacklustre, area around was quite dodgy, and there was no sink in the guest room even though there was a toilet, which we found unsanitary. The room was barely big enough for 2 people.

The private room is not bad per say but here are the flaws as a whole:

- no shower in washroom
- top floor shower area is dirty
- internet disconnects constantly and is slow
- you need to bring used towel to staff to receive a me towel

Honestly would not stay here again unless they fix those issues.

Most run down place I’ve ever stayed, pondered leaving but my stay was short. Stayed on third floor hostel area. Vintage pod in private room was cool, it was reasonably clean and linens were fresh. That’s where the positives end. Large gap above door was a bit strange. Hallway windows left open at night so you can hear lots of loud street noise, you also hear other hotel guests coming and going and talking past midnight. Building is non smoking but it’s clear people are using the bathroom as a smoking room as smoke smell is strong in there at all times. Common areas run down. Peeling wallpaper, roof vent in hallway has either lots of dust or possibly black mold(?). White walls in hall area spotted back, appears to be mold. Old broken fixtures just left in shower stalls. Public bath smelled musty and generally did not feel clean. I do feel with some renovations and care this could be a good place to stay, but I personally wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it until I was sure the issues have been addressed.

7 nights, cool concept of privacy for hostels, but very old and very dirty rooms, I had to ask for them to change the bed sheets because of the dust.
Room with dirty slipper(found a nail sticker in mine) and dirty cabin, was full of some dark fluid in the walls (looks like spilled soy sauce) I was desperate and cleaned with some wet tissues to be able to sleep the first night.
Only one woman bathroom, always smelling awfully, the other guests never respected the \"only women floor\".
The workers were very nice and respectful!

I am not a frequent traveler, but out of all the Airbnbs and hotels I have stayed in Japan and even Southeast Asia, this is the one of the worst 3.

Background: I stayed in a private room, private shower, with 2 twin beds.

Reason:
1. The hotel is dated by current standard.
a. While most public and restaurant restrooms have toilet with bidet, the bathroom in this hotel room has no bidet. Bidet is a standard feature of any Japanese toilet and this toilet is below the standard.
b. The plastic on the light switch cover, electric outlet cover, and AC remote has turned yellow due to age. The part of the AC that sits inside the holder remains white.
c. The TV in the hotel room is smaller than 32” TV. Per iPhone’s measure app, it’s about 22-inch, which is smaller than common computer monitor.
d. The room has concrete floor with obvious chipped paint.
e. The room uses key, and not an electronic card key system.
2. The hotel room shower is small. I am considered skinny by most people. I find myself touching the shower curtain as I turn around in the shower.
3. The hotel is vey close to the train track. There is a slum across from the hotel. You can see trash starting to build up on the sidewalk extending into the street next to get train track, people sleeping on the street next to the train track. Use Google Map to see it yourself.
4. Poor insulation. I can hear next door using water using the shower.

I'm not a picky person but I wasn't able to last two hours in this hotel. The room was dirty and smelled like marijuana. The walls are paper thin and I was able to hear EVERYTHING everyone on the same floor did. Staff were rude. Even for the price, I can't recommend this hotel to anyone.

A nice budget hotel with options for private or shared baths. I got a room with private bath, but went to check out the shared baths. One floor is men's only, and another is women's only. Both have a nice lounge area. There is also a common kitchen area, but you may have to wait to use the stove at meal times. The staff is friendly and courteous.

Pros: cheap, convenient, and a nice change from hostels, since you get your own room.

Cons: it can be noisy, as the rooms don't fully close off from the hallway, and the male shower situation is annoying for a Westerner. If a toilet stall on each floor was converted to a shower stall it'd be perfect.

Area is \"rough\" for Japan, but that just means you might see a drunk person as you walk around. In reality, it's well served by public transit and within walking distance of all sorts of fun stuff!

If you need a place close to Shin Imamiya Station (eg transfer to the airport, going to Koya-san, etc), this place is excellent since it is just next door to the station entrance (Nankai Line). Check in is easy and the front desk looks like they speak a number of languages. Downstairs common area is good but I felt the upstairs corridors, common bath, and bedrooms were very bare bones and unclean/old compared to some of the other hostels/hotels we've stayed at for similar prices. Nevertheless, it's great for a stay when you need to be close to the station

I made the mistake of not reading the reviews before booking this hotel and trusting the pictures... The pictures are misleading : the twin room we had was really small, we had a window that was partly hidden and which we couldn't open. There is a gap at the top of the doors so everyone can hear / see (if they climb up) what happens in the room. We could hear people walking and talking throughout the night. The hotel is not very clean and you feel like you're in a prison. I was lucky to have female showers and toilets on the same floor as my room (4th) but my partner had to go all the way to the 10th floor to go to the loo or shower. Plus, they only had 2 male showers for the whole building!!! The neighborhood is very dodgy with pachinko and drunk people wandering around the station. The showers and washing basins were very dirty and creepy as well!! The only good thing is that it is literally 1mn away from the station so convenient to take the train and go downtown. I am disappointed that hotels.com would even list this hotel and I will never book it again nor recommend it to anyone.

There is a smoking room at the center of each floor, and the ventilation of the room is pretty bad... Smoke comes into my non-smoking room. So I used my special mask (bought at Amazon) to purify the air. If you don't have it, then avoid this hotel.

I can't understand why this 'hotel' doesn't have lower ratings. We chose it as it's hard to find a capsule hotel that does a private room for couples...although this wasn't a private room. Large gap at the top of each capsule room means little privacy/security/noise issues. There is a smoking room on each floor that has capsules, however people leave the room open so the smell is present across the whole floor, so our 'smoke-free' room which we specifically booked stank of cigarettes. Instead of so many smoke rooms they should invest in more toilet/shower facilities, providing mens and womens on each floor. I had to go one floor up or down (accessed only via the lifts, no internal stairs) to have a shower/go to the toilet. As a woman that did not make me feel secure.
Room was very small, barely enough room for 2 people's luggage and the door didn't close properly. Was very dated, and not very clean. Found dust and hair left from a previous guest. Not sure when room had last been cleaned!!
While it is 20 mins walk from Nanba, the area around the hotel was sketchy, dirty (by Japanese standards), and there weren't many places to eat.
This is definitely a budget 'hotel', was a big let down for us as the photos make it look much nicer/less dated than it is in reality. Wouldn't stay again!

Pros: location (right next to station and supermarket very close by)

Cons: room smelt like B.O, bed sheet had small stains and hair residual, TV didn't work, no hot water shower. Also, I was left with a room right in front of the sinks. There is a lot of noise that can easily be heard outside of the room. I ended up getting some sleep after 12, but was abruptly awakened by other visitors using the sink area at 5 am. In addition, I had to use the elevator every time I needed to go to the restroom. There was also no soap at the sink area and nearly all the restrooms. The only restroom with soap was on the 3rd floor.

Tips: If you do decide to stay at this hotel, I recommend you request a room far from the sinks or bathroom. Also, request your bed sheets to be washed throughly. Better yet, find a different hotel instead. There are many other hotels out there offering similar prices and much better value (in terms of cleanliness and comfortably, in particular).
