The clerk so kindly pointed out that I had aged and gained weight since my license photo was taken (15 years prior), and required me to show him every ID I had with me. Our stay started off with an indifferent welcome by staff. But hey, everyone has a bad day once in a while. Kitchen light fixture not working. Bath fan was extremely noisy. The bed was a wall bed - Murphy style - and dirty behind the large gap between the head of the bed and the wall. There were no nightstands or headrest to prop for reading or watching tv. It was a small berm, just enough to keep the pillow from sliding off the bed. The kitchen was outfitted nicely, and chairs on the deck for relaxing and watching the ocean. Beautiful view, but room felt cheap for what we paid.

This was not our first stay at Tolvana, however it had been a few years since we stayed there. We had a studio with a kitchen, the view was great. But the rooms need some attention, the toaster did not work, burnt our toast, the room was extremely warm with both the heat and the fireplace turned off. The Murphy bed was okay, but it was a horrible mattress. The dresser had drawers that needed repair, and the tub was extremely dangerous even with the rubber mat. I realize this is more of a family centered hotel, but they really need to update the rooms, and the quality.

Our one bedroom 3rd floor corner suite with an ocean view was everything I hoped it would be. The kitchen, fireplace, deck, and the living space was so welcoming and comfortable. The elevator was a game changer for us. The staff is very professional and attentive. Your cleaning staff was above and beyond! We loved the bunnies. They were very entertaining. And the beach access stairs were fantastic. My husband is blind and was able to navigate them easily.
We saw 2 beautiful sunsets and the first one had the \"Green Flash\" which was thrilling as they are so rare!

The staff were extremely helpful. The room was clean, we were in a corner suite, so as close to the water as possible. Had to have the pilot light lit for the fire and request blankets for the pull out, but otherwise the stay was exactly what I needed.
The suite was clean but where the natural gas shut off valve was there was an unattached door that fell off when a gust of wind blew. Scared me when it hit the floor. That would be rectified with a simple spring door or a hinge.
The shower turn-on was difficult to find and had to have someone come show us. It had two handles, on to turn on the water, one to control the heat and you have to pull the bottom of the spout to get the shower to work. It was more complicated than necessary. However - when we asked for help we had staff there within five minutes to assist.
The only real noise we had was neighbors doors that slammed. But it was quiet at night, which was great.
One great thing is Mo’s was next door so food was quick and easy if you didn’t want to go into town.
With all of that said - I would stay here again. Access to the actual beach was easy with stairs on one side of the building and a ramp on the other.

The shower turn-on was difficult to find and had to have someone come show us. It had two handles, on to turn on the water, one to control the heat and you have to pull the bottom of the spout to get the shower to work. It was more complicated than necessary. However - when we asked for help we had staff there within five minutes to assist.
The only real noise we had was neighbors doors that slammed. But it was quiet at night, which was great.
One great thing is Mo’s was next door so food was quick and easy if you didn’t want to go into town.
With all of that said - I would stay here again. Access to the actual beach was easy with stairs on one side of the building and a ramp on the other.
