We had a wonderful stay!

The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the staff were always polite, helpful, and welcoming.

The breakfast was fresh with a nice variety, and the overall atmosphere of the property was peaceful and pleasant.

Only advantage is location. Service is terrible and hotel is just artificial.
My bathroom was flooded all over and they took over 1.5 hrs to send someone and an hour to clean it. It stinked all night though.
Breakfast had limited vegetarian options and our orders were ignored!
Room service steward demanded tips as a right! - lacked etiquettes!
Reception checkout experience was too cold and no one even offers here to drop the luggage to the car. Even my kid had to scroll her own luggage in a so call 5 star luxury hotel! Not recommended at all. Stay in BnBs or other hotels.

First day the weather was sunny and sometimes partly cloudy. Second day the fog covered the whole region, so we could not achieve our excursion point like water falls in the Lazza Village ets... and also we couldn't continue to enjoy the marvelous views around the hotel.

There was like in a fair tail. Advice to everyone.

Great option for a family Ski Trip

Hotel staff is very friendly (while most do not speak EN they try their best to help) and helpful. Location is perfect, right in front of the slope access, the sleigh rental and the Shahdag Coaster. Ski shop, lift pas, and classes are all inside the hotel area which makes everything easy to sort it out.

Restaurant is quite good and properly priced. Bar staff is always ready to help. The Spa facilities are quite nice and so is the Swimming Pool area.

We did have some small issues in the room but the maintenance team was extremely fast to come and fix.

Only 3 points to be improved: Toilet paper (looks like an A4 sheet of paper), Shampoo/Conditioner/Soap kit (very bad quality), and locker room (not enough space to sit/change).

Besides that, I totally recommend and would definitely come back.

Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights in a big group occupying 4 junior suites and a standard room. The property needs a major upgrade. It is quite run down and 4 rooms had an issue of clogging in shower and water stink that no one was willing to solve.

The bed and pillow are not for someone who has a neck , back or any other issue since it could be harmful.

Only decent point is location. And access to nearby activities via chair lift.

Its a great stay experience. The hotel is super clean and the staffs are kind and cooperative. The rooms are spacious and lively. The roller coaster attraction is nearby and its close tomother attractions. The hotel is also having free shuttle service for other activities and games located nearby. Breakfast is more than average. Choice of Indian food is limited in the restaurants.

No social distancing at breakfast but nice stay!!

Service was very good and they gave us a free late check out which is very helpful as we were skiing. The breakfast area was a bit too busy I think with the current Covid situation, people don’t social distance at all....but apart from that our stay was very good!

Nice place with wonderful staff with major drawbacks:
- Unbearably hot everywhere. Hard to sleep without the door open and harder to suit up for ski in the locker room without getting super sweaty.
-The food has to be really worked on.
-The restrooms in the ski floor always missed toilet paper and tissues.

First get-away after COVID lockdown

The hotel is in a good condition and the infrastructure is comfortable. However, the reception employees are not well trained, speak in their own language (not Azeri or Russian but in the local language) which creates discomfort.
More guidance, maybe a brochure would be good for guests to know what's going on.

Nice Hotel Option in the Mountains

Excellent location for skiing and other activities. Gorgeous views from all around the hotel. Room was quite large and comfortable. The hotel was fairly clean, but the tub/shower looked like it had not been washed before we arrived (luckily the room also contained a stand-alone shower). The gym and pool are both open to men and women at the same time which was great for our group and not always the case in this area. Dinner and breakfast buffets were tasty and convenient. The service was mixed. Some of the staff were extremely helpful, friendly, and willing to interact with all members of our group. Other members of staff would only address men to a point of absurdity (a female guest would ask a question, but the male staff member would give the answer or the item to the male guest).
The hotel is right next door to two other hotels making it convenient to hop around or book rooms for large groups. Overall, I would stay here again.

Wonderful hotel

The hotel is located on a mountain. It’s pretty hard and far from Baku getting there. On the other hand, the weather is clean, you can take som good breath and put a smile on your face. The Hamam is gorgeous! The swimming pool was great too. The service is ok. The staff speaks in English.

Moutain Hotel in Azerbaijan

It is a lovely location. We took the Gondola to the top of the hill for a wonderful view. We did not ski but the slopes were in really good condition and weather was nice. Their breakfast was great and for dinner they had a special European Buffet.

Excellent relaxing hotel with great location and views. Rooms are spacious with big pathrooms . Features fitness center and Indoor swimming pool with hot water, also features spa, turkish hammam and massage. Avarage breakfast with same varities every day. The only negative point is houskeeping ( beds not clean, and bad daily cleaning and we found flies and cockroach in our room)

turkish hamam is amazing as it is not mixed(ladies only), kids enjoyed the pool after the closure of the ski resort at 5pm

Old building and need to refurbish

I booked this hotel because of itsbeing 5 star level. But i was disappointed because the services were not at this level. There was no one who helped me carry my luggage at the front desk. The housekeeping staff does not even greet guests with good morning or acknowledge greetings. The guards are very lazy to even accompany me to the ski bookig area when i got lost. I had to go back to reception for direction. The spa and front desk staff were helpful and can speak English while the others were not. There is no grocery shop nearby so guests have to ensure they bring toiletries, napkins and snacks. It would be good if the hotel have a small convenience store where guests can buy basic stuff they need. There is no free shuttle to the nearest town so it is pretty isolated though the view was amazing. However, i checked the other two hotels nearby and the furnishing and interior decors were way better than this hotel - more like a 5 start hotel. They need to do change their interior design if they want to compete with its neighboring hotels.

Convenient for skiing but.....

This hotel is great if you want to just ski out in the morning, however there are issues. 1. The heating in the rooms is set very high and seems nearly impossible to turn down. I had three phone calls to reception and an engineer try and and change it with no luck. The only option was to open the door, unfortunately the snow blowers and groomers are working all night which makes it very noisy. Many of my friends have said the same thing about the rooms being too hot. The food is very Azeri orientated so don't expect much western food, strange considering they get a large amount of expats visiting.
The access to the slopes is great, however, despite the lifts opening at nine it is very frustrating that the shop where you pay for the locker key and hire equipment, the locker room and the lift pass shop only opens at nine as well. So with the best will in the world, the earliest I could start with my 4 year old was around 10. The managers need to organise a staggered opening so people have access when the lifts open. The second morning we were there locker room didn't open until 9.20am

When checking into the hotel the receptionist serving me couldn't speak English and I had to wait 10 min for them to bring out someone who could; and that was the issue with almost every staff member I had to deal with in the hotel. Second housekeeping was terrible, I had my room cleaned once in 3 nights and the one time that they did clean my room they didn't make my bed! The food in this hotel is terrible no matter what restaurant you try. Overall I would say the facilities are great, it's just the food and staff that needs improvement.

Great location and good rooms.

Shahdag Hotel & Spa is well positioned right next to the slopes, ski lift and kid's club. The rooms were great, the reception staff were very helpful. Unfortunately our stay was let down by the terrible standard of food - both at the Miras restaurant and from the room service menu.
