Nice enough lodge in a great Kalahari setting. Some of the rooms are set quite a distance from the main lodge so a great opportunity to get your steps up (maybe e-scooters or similar could be handy).
Variety of food was fine. Some Staff were more friendly & guest focused than others (no more needs saying)
TIP - ask Staff about viewing the Meerkats between 08:00-08:30 when heading to brekkie.
Worth a visit 👌

For couples rooms, there should be one double mattress to improve in comfort, our room had two separate ones placed together with a gap inbetween.
We didn't know that we had to pre-book game drives and missed the afternoon one which we had rushed to check in in good time to be able to join but were told it was fully booked.
Aside the above, all was excellent.

Expansive Kalahari views

We had a two night stay at Bagatelle - stsying in one of the dune chalets. The view of the Kalahari is spectactular from both the balcony and the room and it is possible to see several animals. Apart from the dune chalets, it looked like the view from other rooms was far inferior.
The room itself was large (not massive) and well conditioned.
The main lodge building has the restaurant and pool - both are functional but nothing special - except Kudu wander in.
The food was excellent - highest quality we had in Namibia.
Overall staff service was good if a little unenthusiastic.
The lodge offers a few activities. We did the nature drive around the ranch and cheetah feeding which was excellent. They also offer star gazing but the astronmer was not there so we were unable to do it.

We loved our stay. The location is amazing and so is the service.
We really enjoyed the Game Drive, it's a must (we took the combo tour and we loved it).

Service was great and food was really good. Dinner was at a very high level.
For me, being Vegan, they had a lot to offer which is not common in Namibia.

I would highly recommend it.

This is at best a 2 star facility. We stayed in the Dune Exclusive and would strongly recomment to keep to the lower budget options as this was not worth the exhorbitant price. Everything is very dated - furniture, towels, jacuzzi, tablecloths and napkins, one poorly functioning toaster with 70 plus guests. Cleanliness is well below standard. No wifi if you have a Samsung device even in main lodge as advertised. Staff is poorly trained and disinterested. Meals were average at best.

Booked a Savannah chalet months in advance & paid at time of booking. On arrival we were told all Savannah Chalets were full & we'd been upgraded to the farmhouse. This sounded odd as ours was already paid for months ago. I asked what made the farmhouse an upgrade? The front desk guy just had a constant smirk on his face & said was better, but could not explain why. We were told the farmhouse was 2 miles off site & we'd need to drive there ourselves & get the staff to collect us for dinner. This didn't sound like an upgrade & sure enough when we got there, instead of being in our own chalet, we were in a building converted into 5 different rooms. No view, less space, no bath like the Savannah chalet would've had. Our view from the room was parked cars & hosepipes left on the ground. Inside the room was ok, but it wasn't the room I paid for & certainly no upgrade. There were no facilities here, apart from a pool round back of the building in front of someone else’s room. We noticed all the rooms in the farm building were occupied, so we weren’t the only ones that were allegedly upgraded. We waited 90 mins for the dinner pick up. There was no phone to call front desk. The meal was nice & had a nice atmosphere sitting outside. This was the only nice part of our stay. Basically we were lied to & told we'd been upgraded, rather than apologise for giving our room away. A bad experience made worse by incompetent staff. Would not visit again & not recommend it. Avoid!!!

Lovely lodge in Kalahari

Bagatelle is really worth at least one night's stopover if not two. We stayed for two and were glad we did. We were upgraded to a Dune Chalet 😊which was really comfortable, crisp linen bedding, good and much needed air con, with amazing west facing terrace with views. Sitting with a sundowner watching the meerkats play was magic. The communal areas are stylishly furnished. Food here is also of a very good standard....and the pool is great for cooling down in. You meet an interesting mixture of people...some camping, others driving from lodge to lodge as we were. We went out on the morning scenic drive and really enjoyed it.....it's low key but you do see some game, we were lucky, a bat eared fox....but it is what it says, scenic. You can also go out on horses. Staff all very friendly and helpful.

We stayed in a dune chalet which was beautiful and right on the edge of the desert which afforded us a gorgeous view and complete silence. The lodge was lovely as well and the service good. The one big drawback, and largely the reason we selected Bagatelle, was that we wanted to see the cheetahs. There were 3 in an enclosure, and our half-hour ride to see them was OK but not great. It paled in comparison when we saw cheetahs in the wild at Erindi.

Très belle expérience dans ce lodge du début à la fin avec des couchers de soleil magnifiques que vous pourrez voir aussi en allant nourrir les guépards ou à dos de cheval.Nous avons eu un malentendu pour la chambre et la propriétaire est venue nous voir personnellement pour nous offrir un upgrade et nous avions une chalet magnifique. Les repas à l’extérieur avec un service raffiné ainsi que le décor enchanteur en font un endroit que je vous recommande pour un arrêt. De là vous pourrez vous rendre à « Death Valley » qui est une route qui se fait quand même assez bien car la moitié est pavée.

Location molto bella: grande con gli chalet di varia tipologia ben distanziati.E’ un ranch molto grande con molti animali anche liberi. Si svolgono lezioni di equitazione. Bellissimo l’ingresso con vari prodotti esposti di alta qualità.Una delle impiegate alla reception è stata poco empatica e cortese. Lo chalet assegnato 7 molto grande, pulito. Bagno pulito con set di asciugamani profumati e morbidi.Presente set di cortesia Dinner: ampia e molto suggestiva sotto un grande tendone la sala dove si cena con pavimento in sabbia rossa.. Servizio inadeguato con tempi di attesa lunghi. Il cibo proposto al banco del self service abbondante e di buona qualità. Breakfast: vario e abbondante con presenza di dolce e di salato. Frutta yogurt marmellate pane e brioches di ogni tipo.

Très dommage, le tapage nocturne a ruiné le reste

Tout aurait été parfait si seulement j'avais pu dormir! C'était la nuit du 31 décembre, c'est sympa de faire une animation musicale, mais si j'avais voulu faire la fête toute la nuit je ne serais pas venue dans un lodge cher au milieu de nulle part! Je voulais juste me reposer et profiter de la nature, à la place jai eu un concert puis une musique de boite a tue tête qui m'a empêché de dormir.

Ein wundervoller Fleckchen Erde mit atemberaubender Kulisse, super nettem und zuvorkommendem Personal sowie einer der schönsten Aussichten die man sich vorstellen kann. Tolles Essen.
Wir hatten die teuerste Zimmerkategorie, Exclusive Dune Chalet, und es trotz des wirklichen hohen Preises nicht bereut.
Lediglich der Hauptpool könnte dauerhaft etwas mehr saubergemacht werden.
Wir haben keinen Cent bereut und würden beim nächsten Mal wieder dieselbe Zimmerkategorie wählen und die Abstriche woanders machen.

Un zoo avec une belle vie pour les animaux

Les dunes sont tres agréable avec une belle vue. Le personnel sont très sympha mais malheureusement les propriétaires sont très désagréable avec eux, j avais honte. Ils pensent que les blanc sont superieux aux noires. On n a pas aimé du tout ! Le safari est pas naturel, comme un zoo mais les animaux ont une belle vie.

We would recommend a dune chalet rather than a chalet, the view from the terrace is next level. The \"naturdrive and sunset\" is fantastic, if you're lucky you will meet Bruno & Grace, a friendly White rhino couple. Dinner and breakfast are a 10 out of 10.

Un bon nombre d’activités proposées.
Nous avons choisi le nourrissage des Leopards et le coucher du soleil. Top pour notre 2eme journée en Namibie. Le guide était très sympa.
Le repas était très bon, le petit déjeuner était bien.
Très agréable de prendre un bain en observant le désert et les animaux !
Le prix reste néanmoins élevé en comparaison avec d’autres belles adresses

Un posto meraviglioso, circondato da dune rosse. Bella l'ambientazione, molto bella la nostra camera (Chalet Savannah). Ottimo il cibo e la colazione. Abbiamo fatto tante delle loro attività e abbiamo visto tantissimi animali: giraffe, rinoceronti, gnu. Molto bravi nel creare esperienze. Vi consiglio comunque di fare questa tappa all'inizio del viaggio, perchè dopo l'Etosha non ha molto senso. Ma all'inizio devo dire che è stato davvero fantastico. Ci tornerei domani mattina. Bravi!

Die Umgebung der Lodge ist Traumhaft und das Personal ist super freundlich. Leider ist die Lodge etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Die Fotos auf Expedia sowie auf der Webseite entsprechen leider nicht der Realität. Daher war die Enttäuschung leider recht groß nachdem wir eingecheckt haben.

Die Lage der Dünenchalets is spektakulär, ein wunderschöner Ausblick mit herrlichem Sundowner auf der eigenen Terasse.
Jedoch muss man feststellen, dass die Anlage in die Jahre gekommen ist. Hier fehlt seitens Management die ständige Kontrolle und ggf. Nachbesserung.
Preis-Leistung war nicht wie erwartet.

Een vrij groot complex met weinig persoonlijke aandacht, ook geen bijzonder welkom. We hadden een duinkamer, bovenop de rand van het duin, met terras met uitzicht op de vlakte met een drinkplaats. De kamer is ruim, de badkamer aardig maar de douche spettert op de vloer, er is geen deur of gordijn. Wel vreemd: bij aankomst is niets gezegd of het water drinkbaar is, later nagevraagd en het blijkt niet helemaal goed te zijn. Maar er werd geen drinkwater aangeboden. Er stond wel een full size koelkast in de kamer met welgeteld 2 kleine flesjes water. Wat een onzin. Omdat we de indruk hadden dat het water wel eens de hoofdprijs kon kosten hebben we die niet gebruikt maar onze eigen watervoorraad. We waren hier 2 nachten en na de eerste was er geen housekeeping, de kamer bleef onaangeroerd. Niet wat ik verwachtte.
Het diner werd geserveerd in een soort ‘kraal’ waarbij voldoende afstand was. Keuze uit 2 voor/hoofd/nagerechten en alles van heel goede kwaliteit. Er was ook keuze in huiswijn die niet te zuinig werd geserveerd, de prijs was relatief hoog maar gezien de ‘bel’ best redelijk.
De excursie ‘bushmen walk’ is niets anders dan theater, de mensen die in het hotel werken doen ook de ‘show’, spreken opeens geen Engels. Het geeft een inkijkje in de cultuur maar met korrels zout.
Je kunt niet met de auto bij de hut komen. Het wifi bij de receptie was matig of niet werkend. Prijs/kwaliteit is niet goed, voor dat geld mag je beter verwachten.

Tout était excellent! La chambre avec la vue sur la réserve magnifique, le restaurant était très bon (goûter l’oryx), et les excursions sundowner/cheetah feeding et morning scenic drive était au top! Mention spécial pour notre guide Panda qui a su repérer les girafes en un coup d’oeil, et qui a pris le temps pour qu’on puisse faire toutes les photos qu’on voulait.

Die Unterkunft liegt direkt an den roten Dünen der Kalahari. Die ersten Tiere sieht man bereits auf dem Weg vom Haupttor zur Lodge. Die Safarifahrten sind toll. Der guide war sehr informativ und wir haben neben Giraffen auch die
im Areal lebenden Nashörner gesehen. Die Gepardenfütterung war ein Erlebnis, genauso wie der Sonnenuntergang.
Das Personal ist stets freundlich, gut gelaunt und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück war gut, das Abendessen hervorragend.
Schöne Lodge in faszinierender Landschaft, sehr zu empfehlen.

Nous avons passé 2 nuits en chalet dune, avons bénéficié d’un surclassement puisque nous avions réservé en chambre garden.
Avons apprécié les dîners : excellent et les petits déjeuners également très bien bien.
Super sortie : safari, cheetah feeding et su donner : ils ont pris le temps. Très sympathique accueil.
Proximité des animaux extraordinaire.
Petit bemol : il faudrait rafraîchir les salles de bain. Sinon, site superbe. Très bon séjour

Wir hatten Glück und wurden wegen Umbauarbeiten von einem Garden-Chalet in ein friestehndes Appartment upgegradet. Von dort hatten wir ungstörte Aussicht auf die Wüste. Das Appartment war genau auf das Kreuz des Südesn ausgerichtet.Die Ausstattung war angemessen. Das Personal war sehr nett und zuvorkommend, der Service war sehr gut.

Wir haben den zweitägigen Aufenthalt auf der Rückreise nach Windhoek sehr genossen. Wunderschön gelegen in den roten Kalahari-Dünen. Das Personal ist kompetent und sehr aufmerksam. Wir haben einen Ausritt mit gut ausgebildeten Quarter-Horses gemacht. Ein Erlebnis! Außerdem den Combination-Drive, bei dem man das Wildlife auf der Ranch beobachten kann. Besonders gefallen hat uns, dass auf dem Gelände Tiere (Springbock, Eland, Strauß usw.) frei herumlaufen können. Von diesen schönen Tieren wird man aber nicht belästigt (das stand mal in der anderen \"wirren\" Rezension). Schönes Restaurant mit gutem Essen. Wir werden unbedingt wiederkommen. Danke!
