I really enjoyed the staff nothing but exceptional, friendly, and willing to help and share their guidance. My major complaint would be - I didn’t like that some clients staying at the hotel would take ownership of the limited tanning beds around the pool, save them with placing a towel on top and leaving the pool area for several hours limiting those staying by the pool by not using such beds to tan and relax. I just think that’s a selfish and jerky move by the clients. Staff are very respectful and don’t say anything but there should be some common courtesy guidelines that if you leave for lunch or prefer to relax in the garden with more shade, you should take your damp towel with you and let others use the beds by the pool. That would be my major discontented with the hotel. The breakfast provided in the morning was phenomenal and the estate at Quirico is beautiful!

Very unique and relaxing property. There are a variety of lovely garden spaces to enjoy: a lounging area, patio area, seated area for lunch, pool area, spa-tub area. You can find shade from the hot sun or find areas if you’d like to be in full sun. Our room was spacious and well appointed. The only thing that would have made our night more restful would have been to have squishier, fluffier pillows on which to rest our heads.
We enjoyed breakfast at the restaurant associated with this property. They offered a nice variety from which to choose.
We thoroughly enjoyed massage therapy with Sarah, who was practiced in her craft and worked out all the kinks.
The front desk staff was very helpful in answering any and all questions and guiding us with helpful recommendations and suggestions.
Note: car parking is not near the hotel. You park down the hill, outside the city walls, and walk up. I only mention this because it could be a problem for guests with mobility issues. If you can fit your car through the city archway, you can drop your luggage off at the hotel door before you park.

Just exceptional. Staff is phenomenal. Was offered capuchinos when coming in. Representative took us around the hotel which is beautiful and gave us a room upgrade. Best room I have eber had with a living room and large fully remodeled bathroom. The garden is a solutely beautiful and pool is so pretty. The reastaurent belong to the hotel and is excellent.Had dinner and free breakfast was included.

The property is in a lovely renovated medieval Tuscan village which is very quaint but limited in variety of eating establishments and shops and what is there has very limited and inspiring menu items. Staff in the restaurant connected to the hotel seem to be poorly trained in good customer service. There is no intimacy in their approach to customers, they seem distant and unsure of themselves. In two weeks in Tuscany staying in six different hotels this was our least favourable stay and by no means the least expensive. Over priced and over advertised as a Relais hotel in my mind.

Yes. Yes. YES! This hotel was amazing!!

This was such a beautiful hotel, located in a beautiful area. The staff were friendly and helpful. My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and would DEFINITELY stay here again in the future! The hot tub/jacuzzi was a HUGE plus with our legs being sore from walking and exploring all the nearby villages.

Getting to the hotel is a BIG challenge!...the hotel should clarify the directions to get there. Additionally, no place to park the car at all!! It was quite horrible just to off load the luggage. To keep the car overnight, had to go to another outside parking location. There was only one person trying to check-in three arrivals...so no help and long wait! :-(
Other than the above: the rooms are clean...although no elevator to get up to the rooms...so get ready to carry luggage over many stairs! :-)

The location is great, their restaurant is excellent and the exterior garden is nice. We had 2 rooms. One smelled liked an old wood chimney and the toilet seat was coming off. The door squeezed loudly. Air conditioner in 2nd room did not work at all.

The staff were very nice and helpful, from greeting to showing us all the amenities. The gardens were beautiful. We parked below in public parking and walked a short distance uphill to get there, inside a very old walled city, very picturesque. Breakfast was great. This property is ideally located to venture out into Tuscany.

Quaint, fun property and great staff

Hotel is really cool - it is in the center of a walled town in an old stone building. Beautiful garden area off the second floor. Rooms were a little funky as might be expected but clean and totally serviceable. The staff was great - loved Coco and Mario. Coco drove down to the parking area below town to grab our bags for us and was just a friendly and helpful guy. The town of San Quirico d'Orcia is pretty but kind of on the quiet side. We liked it for a night but in retrospect with limited time in Tuscany I would have voted for Orvieto or maybe Siena or Montalcino over this town. The hotel restaurant that is off the grounds was highly recommended to us but ended up being one of the most disappointing meals of our trip. Hate to say that because maybe they had an off night but it was a completely uninspired meal in a trip that was full of great ones.

The hotel is great and the location could not be better. The room and bathroom was very comfortable. The only comment I would have is that the hotel needs to do a better job at advising customers on how to reach the hotel, parking etc. We spent a lot of time looking for ways to get close to the hotel as there are a lot of ZTL - no drive zones close to the hotel. We parked outside the town and walked up about 50 steps to the hotel only to find out that they had a shuttle which we could use.

The hotel is amazing in every way. Arrival was great with lovely staff who helped us to our room and explained everything. Afternoon tea- with cakes and all free! Room was lovely and facilities just perfect.
The garden is just wonderful- prosecco in the sunshine. We used the hotels restaurant, which is just up the street. Again just wonderful service and food.
Breakfast was just fantastic. Buffet with everything you could want-we are vegetarians and there was a good choice of pastries, fruit, bread and so much else!
On leaving we were taken by hotel bus down to the car park. Great service! Great value for money. We are going back soon.

The place is pretty and located inside of a historical old town. It s very charming, little narrow alleys around it where you can walk.
i guess it s prettier in summer as we went in winter and it was really cold. It s a place where couple goes for spa and maybe for weekend getaway.

We stayed in a two story family room where my two kids had a great time as the ceiling was lower and they think it s lot of fun.
The bed is not so comfortable, the room was cold as the heater was central and couldnt be adjusted. The furnitures were rustic but not welly made. We went also for the michelin recommended restaurant, but we got a little disappointed.
The staffs are sooo friendly and so nice, the service is great, it includes breakfast, snacks, tea snacks and night snacks. So u got food the whole day! But we are picky in both hotel and foods, so we might not be going back again.

Hotel is in the quaint village of montelpucino. All you would need for an overnight or few days stay. Free car par 5minutes away. We stayed in the main building.
No elevator for those that need we were fine and only on 1st floor (30 steps)

This hotel was the best! Beautiful, quaint, clean comfortable. The restaurant attached to the hotel was fabulous. The breakfast was a feature in itself: chucks of pecorino cheese, Tuscan cheese, home made cookies. San Quirico was also pleasant and friendly.

Very central and easy to walk in the old town.

This is a very lovely hotel and we enjoyed it -- the staff is very nice. There is no elevator and a lot of step to climb if that is an issue. We stayed in a room on the front and it was noisy. (We had to open the window for air) The room was not large and a bit crowded but pretty, and lovely old beams . there is a lovely terrace with flowers and a pretty garden view.

There is tea and cake in the afternoon and that was a very nice extra touch.

Quite simply the best hotel we have ever stayed in

To say it is the best hotel we have ever stayed in is no small claim. Staff were friendliness itself from the moment we booked. When we arrived at the hotel, we were offered free afternoon tea, which included a wonderful selection of cakes and other baked items. Our room was beautiful, with a small corridor into the bathroom.
We sat I the quiet, wonderful garden for an hour before we went over the road to the restaurant. Excellent menu, great food and friendly service.
We would thoroughly recommend the hotel to anyone.

Great hotel for one night and for a week stay

Location - in the city center, close to all historic places and views.
Parking - have to reserve and pay or leave your car on the public parking which is safe
Rooms - beautiful rooms, mattress comfy, all you need is in the room, can even ask for massage in the room.
Breakfast - good, they make different coffees by request.
Hotel has a restaurant for dinner - very recommended.
It was the best hotel and best food during our week trip. We regret that we couldn't stay longer.

We only stay at the finest hotels. This was one of the best hotels! Ask for the Capricorno room-it's very romantic. Fine at the restaurant. It's great! Breakfast actually had lactose-free milk (versus almond milk or soy milk)! Loved this place! I wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Fabulous way to experience the Montalcino area.

The town of San Quirico D'Orcia is beautiful and charming. Great little authentic restaurants. Lovely gardens. Perfect old walled city in the Brunello di Montalcini wine region.
The staff was so friendly and helpful. The hotel is from the 1300's. Architecturally the place is amazing.
From afternoon tea and cakes to the great breakfast buffet, we were astounded by the quality.
We can't wait to go back.

My husband and I were traveling through Tuscany and somehow missed booking our stay for just one night. He decided to look for a place in Siena and found this hotel. We were initially disappointed when we realized that the hotel was not at all in Siena, but what a pleasant surprise it was! We ended up saying that this was the best mistake we made on our trip! The staff were so friendly and made many special accommodations for us (allowed us to park closer to the entrance for unloaded, they made a very late night dinner reservation for us [with a 10% off discount card], and even upgraded our room after learning that we had gotten lost and would be checking in quite late). The town is very quaint and we enjoyed the shops and many opportunities to take amazing photos. We are already planning our next trip to Italy, and now have another MUST to add to our list!

Good but could have been better

First the best. You have to leave your car outside of the walled city in San Quirico and the guy who goes with you to get your luggage is great even not speaking English. We stayed in the annex building (Cassiopea room) and our room didn't have air conditioning or at least a fan. And it was hot at night this June! We also felt that the bed and pillows were in the hard side. Another problem we had was the noise coming from the room above us. Maybe we were just not lucky but the people sleeping upstairs woke up very early and it seemed they were jumping as high as they could. Another thing that was annoying was the fact that they would not replace food in the breakfast buffet (specially fruit) after 9:30 even considering that it should be served between 7:30 and 11:00. A good hotel but I don't think they deserve their 4 star rating (at least if you stay in the annex building).

Great hotel in ideal location

Excellent hotel and location having now stayed there on five occasions.
Buffet breakfast is ok but could be better.
Terrace area is heavily shaded which is welcome in the day but is at times too dark.
This area is used for the restaurant and is rather dull & poorly lit in the evenings and could be greatly improved and made more inviting.

I wish I had more time here!

One of the best travel experiences of my life. I recommend this hotel and it's restaurant to anyone traveling to the Tuscany area. The town itself is like a postcard; set in a town likely built in the 1000 to 1300's. The hotel i am told, is a 1500-era building; however, it has been upgraded of course for modern ammenities, but has not lost its charm. The grounds are utterly breath-taking, and we couldn't ask for more (except to spend more days here). Bottom line: if you are lucky enough to be traveling to Tuscany - say here. You will not be disappointed. The town is also close to hotsprings, wineries and castles.

Great for a romantic stay

My girlfriend and I had a lovely, romantic stay here and can't recommend it highly enough. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the facilities were amazing. We plumped for a junior suite, and weren't disappointed. Not the cheapest hotel in the world, but well worth the money. We'd love to come back again soon - thanks for a really enjoyable stay!

What a hidden Gem. This hotel and it's location was the one of the highlights of our trip! Amazing service, very modern and very clean! Plush linens and towels. Great soaps and shampoo samples from their very own store to tease you with. Very romantic! Amazing view from our room. Quiet and peaceful. We had 2 amazing nights at this hotel. Positives: nice hotel overall, good sized room, and in a great place in the center of the town. It'a beautiful authentic little town in Toscana and we loved it. Absolutely beautiful garden to sit and relax in too. Negatives: When we checked in, we asked to see the spa before booking an appt but were not permitted to. We were also told that the pool was closed that day. The next day when we wanted to go to the pool, we were informed it would be 5 EU per person and it's a 10 minute walk (or quick shuttle) away. These can be seen as little things, but it felt a little bit like they wanted to \"nickle and dime\" us when we spent good $ there. Overall satisfactory hotel, great little town, but not quite as top shelf as they would lead you to believe.

THE hotel to be in for those heading to the Montalcino region

This hotel is great!
It offers a high-end authentic small-Toscan-village experience.
It doesn't take long after you get there before you realize that this place is the most renowned little hotel of the Montalcino region.
The hotel staff is very friendly and professional.
The neighborhood, the hotel and the rooms are just like you want them to be; pure Toscan type, absolutely authentic yet completely remodeled (the village too)with taste and high quality materials. The city of San Quirico D'Orcia is made of very narrow and romantic streets with little shops and restaurants everywhere.

Hotel's free Wi-Fi works well.
Included Breakfast is great.
Pillows are too thin.
Heating is centrally controlled and at fall it works in the morning and in the evening so in the end of the afternoon it can sometimes be a little bit frisky if you like it very warm.
Massage therapists are very good, even for deep tissue massage.

Room doors are a little too thin and the corridors carry echo very well; as a result of the two and although moderate, you will sometimes hear the comings and goings of the other guests.

In all I loved it. What makes this place perfect are its little imperfections. it honestly is a wonderfull place where I would go back anytime again many times.

The Hotel was very clean and very beautiful. The rooms were lovely and with all luxury you need.
We had a whirlpool in the room wich was amazing. There was also one outside in a nice garden. Really private really romantic.
The food in the Hotel was also good.
We were also at the Spa. It was amazing. I had the 4 Elements Massage and it was the best of my life. You can have Spa inside or also outside in the garden. Very nice.
If you want to have a really nice dinner with excellent wine then you have to go to the Restaurant La Grotta wich is in Montepulciano (20min from the Hotel).
We can HIGHLY reccomend this hotel!

El hotel es un hotel promedio, sus zonas de piscina y amenidades son muy limitadas, lo que más te disgusta es que te venden un verdadera experiencia VIP y no recibes nada de parte de la propiedad ni del personal, en pocas palabras esta propiedad está sobrevalorada, no vale la pena pagar para hospedarte en este hotel el valor que ellos cargan, si por ese mismo valor puedes recibir mucho más de lo que esta propiedad ofrece.

Det var helt igennem en fantastisk oplevelse lige fra booking til udcheckning. Der var bare en aura over stedet som gjorde at man følte sig velkommen og hjemme. Very Bad Experience , dont be cheated

This place is a trap. Do not trust the pictures. Its a three star hotel the most. If they’re charging more than 150 usd per night dont go. It does not worth! The hotel does not offer much. They say they have air condition in the room, from September beyond winter time you cant turn it ON, though . Get prepared to open the Windows. The room smells bad. The pilows arent soft. I spent a lot of time trying to find the best place to spend these two days ON SAN Quirico or near it. The palazzo del capitano always apeared in many sites as a spa and relays hotel. They only have a cold jacuzzi, and they charge you to use the sauna. The pool is not heated. The breakfast is ok, not wonderful like they say. There are many four star hotels with better breakfast, the attendants are always ON rush at tratoria vechio. San Quirico has many local free car parking. But they are confused. The hotel didnt give any advise for us. They do have a little van to drop you at your car, but it is not available all time.

La struttura è suggestiva in quanto albergo diffuso in un borgo antico. La colazione è, abbondante e servita a tavola con una ricca scelta di prodotti preparati artigianalmente e uova cotte al momento. Una delle migliori colazioni mai trovate in alberghi anche di categoria superiore. Consigliatissimo!

Ho fatto notare al ragazzo indiano che serviva la colazione e devo dire che era efficiente e professionale

Dafür lohnt sich der Aufenthalt in San Quirico.

Das Hotelgelände beinhaltet einen ganzen Block aus dem 15. Jh. Inbegriffen darin ist der große parkähnliche Innenhof mit dem sehr schönen Pool mit Wasserdüsen, Liegen, einem Whirlpool, einer Bar - und direkt ums Eck das eigene, gute Restaurant. Der Ort San Quirico ist auch sehr hübsch, aber klein - das macht das Capitano sozusagen zur Hauptattraktion des Ortes.

Soggiorno romantico e di qualita'.

Hotel dall'atmosfera romantica, ideale per coppie. Molta professionalita' in tutti i servizi come reception, pulizia della camera, bar. E' stato un ottimo soggiorno. Vale la pena di programmare fin da subito un po' di tempo da passare in hotel, soprattutto nelle stagioni quando si puo' sfruttare il suo giardino, benche' il contesto geografico sia molto ricco di attrazioni. La zona all'aperto, inclusa la piscina, nelle foto sembra piu' grande della realta', ma non e' comunque una delusione poiche' e' bella e ben tenuta. Il ristorante annesso e' un po' caro, con prezzi sopra la media dei locali del paese, ma la colazione, che puo' essere inclusa nel prezzo del soggiorno, e' ottima.

We have travelled the world a lot and have stayed at over hundred different hotels (Gold-/VIP-members at Hotels.com).

Rarely seen worse than this compared to our expectations.
Bad service (we had to wait for our rom that wasn’t ready upon arrival without apologies etc etc), bad AC (warm and noisy), no free water and bad breakfast (cheapest food from Coop and you need to pay extra for eggs..)

Not recommended.

ottima struttura personale disponibile e cordiale....la stanza che avevamo era una deluxe molto bella . l'unico neo che si sentiva il minimo passo dal soffitto proveniente dalla stanza sopra....insonorizzazione quasi inesistente...meno male che i clienti della stanza non hanno fatto troppo rumore.
comunque ottima struttura.

Almost double up on price for room

Sweet little hotel. Parking was expensive, extra breakfast for one child was expensive. Told us we got an upgrade to a nice room but it was very small. And we were moved from one hotel ,the spa, to another of the hotels owned by the same family in the city, think because we had a child with us age 12. Breakfast was great. Very small and short bed.

Schönes Hotel, oder besser gesagt eine \"Sammlung\" an Unterkünften, welche in San Quirico d'Orcia verteilt sind. Das Haupthaus ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, vor allem der wirklich schöne Garten braucht eine \"Auffrischung\"

o hotel é muito bonito, os funcionários cordiais e bem solícitos, o único porém foi o ar condicionado que não da conta de gelar os quartos, estávamos em uma época em que estava fazendo 37/38 graus e não sei se estavam preparados para um calor como estava fazendo.

Hotel elegante gestito da personale gentile e molto professionale. Stanno anche costruendo la piscina che completerá ancora di più il numero di servizi offerti. Buona anche la colazione ricca di dolci e anche dei salumi locali. Utile anche il voucher scontato per una piscina termale nei dintorni. Molto consigliato!!!!
