What a lovely hotel in a quiet area of District 7. Really friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are great, comfortable and quiet.
2 small issues were with the TV - very old and needs replacing (speakers were whistling) and the power to the room would occasionally cut out - lights would flicker, TV would restart.

Every staff member was extraordinarily kind, eager to help and polite. Hotel is quiet. If complete darkness for sleep is required, bring an eye-cover. Shower pressure was great and water temperature was quick and consistent.

Clean and comfortable for a boutique hotel. My only concern is that there is only 1 small lift to serve all the hotel guests and the fire exit is rather narrow in case of any emergency. If the management will take some proactive measures,the above concerns can be eliminated.
Overall,it is a good hotel to stay in.

For us, this is like a vacation home when we are in Ho Chi Minh City. Clean, quiet . . . I am partial to western foods and we can walk to just about anything. For shopping there is Vivo Center and Crescent Mall. District 7 is not crowded and quiet.

A great find away from the city centre

A really lovely welcoming hotel. As a woman travelling alone I felt very comfortable and safe here. The staff were really helpful. John the owner was so friendly and always had a chat at breakfast, and was happy to answer any questions I had.

Normally we stay in District 1 . . . crowded, noises, hectic. This hotel is in District 7--which is like going to a different world in VN. Quiet. Peaceful. Relaxing. I met the husband of the owner--John. Very nice man. We will make it a point to return to this hotel when we are in VN. By the way--there are many, many restaurants within walking distance. If you want to stay close to western foods, there is a McDonalds and Dairy Queen, Pizza Hut, Texas Chicken, KFC, etc. etc. etc.

Clean, quiet respite from Saigon's crowd

Located in quarter 7, Hotel L'Odeon is located in a quiet, tree lined neighborhood near many restaurants. This area is popular with Koreans so there is an abundance of grocery, retail and eating places catering to them.

John, the personable Singaporean owner, makes sure all guests are greeted and briefed on key sights. He also stays on top of staff to be attentive to the hotel facilities.

Rooms are spanking clean with steady hot water, room refrigerator, free wi-fi.

An adequate breakfast is provided. As is usual for hotels in this size and price, wi-fi strength is decent but not strong. Not much in the way of equipment or free weights in the mini-gym.

Best Hotel in Saigon. LOOK NO FURTHER - book NOW.

This hotel is located a $4 U.S. cab ride from the mayhem that is the CBD of downtown Saigon. It is located in District 7, Little Korea Town and is INCREDIBLE. Bars, restaurants, banks, grocery stores, bakeries & cafes abound. John & his wife Daina run a tight operation and the rooms are spotless. Tuan from the front door keeps the place sure and is such a nice gentleman. The girls at front desk: Minh, Csau & Quyen were all just so amazing. In the restaurant, Thu always had a smile and was keen to help. In housekeeping, Minh, Thanh & the team were just so helpful and kind - not to mention quiet and respectful. I am a very hard marker and this place is AMAZING. Book in now, you will LOVE it. 5 Stars out of 5.

Tried most types of rooms available in this hotel

I stayed at this hotel several nights. I think deluxe room was best one for the price. Executive room with a balcony was worst choice, where two window sides were facing major construction.. I had to close curtains all the time and for the balcony I wouldn't want to sit out there due to chemical, cement smell and privacy issue.. Deluxe room was very nicely decorated and has a modern bathroom. Large window was also good with no interesting view though. Staffs were friendly and communicating well. Breakfast was ok for the price you know..

We stay in this hotel for one night, so far so good. The hotel staffs are every helpful to show us around the areas. Room is small but well decorated. The towel rack felt off, I put it back in, should be fixed. We ask for extra pillows but hotel policy according to the young staff, hotel is provide 2 max, but he manages to get us only one. TV control is complicated. Breakfast is average with nice atmosphere. If their price is stayed the same, I will stay again because the cost of taxi to get to and from hotel will cost you more to go to places. Nice Location.

Caring team, lovely room....quiet District 7

Staff at this lovely hotel could not have been kinder. They helped get meds for me when I developed a very painful toothache, and showed caring and kindness all the way. The room had a pretty little balcony, bathroom/shower were clean and spacious... highly recommend this hotel as long as being in the center of Saigon is not important to you. After all, District 1 is only a short (and fun) bus or taxi ride away..

Top level service from staff

We stayed for two nights and would have extended but the hotel was full. The only minor complaint was from some late night barking by some dogs at a nearby construction site. Not the hotels fault but they did everything they could to move us to a room with a different exposure.
Staff helped Book tours and provided all kinds of advice to maximize our experience in Vietnam. Great hotel.

Interesting area in Ho Chi Minh (District 7)

This hotel is in an interesting part of the city (District 7). The hotel is surrounding by a lot of Korean restaurants which from reading this District has a lot of expats from Korea. The area is much quieter than District 1 and the infrastructure is nice with large roads and modern buildings. There is a nice mall close by with a lot of different restaurants and coffee shops including Starbucks. I didn't really care for the rooms too much since the walls are painted purple and I didn't care much for the breakfast. But the staff was nice and the hotel is clean and affordable. Glad I stayed though to experience this part of the city.

Wonderful stay in a very safe neighborhood

Me and my husband stayed in this hotel for 2 nights before going back home. Mr. John and the other staff were very helpful in showing us how to use the public transportation. This hotel is in Phu My Hung which is a new village with very good restaurants, massage and shops. We were able to walk at night and had the pleasure to check in a lot of restaurants without having some safety issues. The place has CCTV everywhere and there are only 2 taxis that are allowed to enter the area ( Main Linh and Vinasun). Also, we don't have to worry about motor bikes because there are only a few of those in the vicinity. The bus station is only few minutes walk from the hotel and its only 6,000 Dong/person. Taxi can be up to 150,000 dong if coming from downtown. So, just take the bus and experience the trip with the locals if you have enough time. It is 45 min to 1 hr going to the airport because of the traffic. The stay in this hotel is wonderful! We felt very at home with our room. The breakfast was also great! We highly recommend this hotel to everyone who wishes to visit Saigon. Mr. John went out of his way to talk to us and gave us maps, directions, informations of the tourist spots etc. Those were very helpful as we explore the city. Thank you very much Hotel L' Odeon. Safe, clean and quiet location surrounds a lot of good eating places. Warm hospitality from Mr John during breakfast hours complimented with delicious hot main with decent buffet spread. It made our days bright start. He also provided area maps with resturants & attractions guides. The upgrade cost for Executive double room just US$18 for 3 nights. Really worth!! Highly recommended.
the cafe could offer afternoon tea would be an added value to this French cottage boutique hotel.

Stayed here last month and found it to be exceptionally good so that’s why we are here again. Unfortunately, this time we made a mistake by double booking. We wrote to the hotel to explain to them about our mistake and appealed for waiver of the penalty. We arrived at the hotel with some worries – worry about not being able to get a refund and worry about knowing very little regarding our next destination. But we leave the hotel with all our worries removed. The hotel helped us to write in for a refund and even called on our behalf to speak to the customer service just to assure us that we would be getting our refund. Such generosity and keenness to assist is rarely seen. They could have easily told us that we had made a non-refundable booking and they could do nothing. I was a little concerned that the Front Desk would get fed-up with my wife’s long-windedness on asking for tips on our next destination. But I continued to see the genuine smile on their beautiful faces. The breakfast is generous with a hot a la carte dish and a wide variety of buffet selection. The rooms are almost spotless. Location wise, it is ideal for us to visit the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center taking only 20 minutes by foot. Once again, my wife and I would like to thank the hotel for making our stay so comfortable and enjoyable.

Home away from home.

This is my second stay with this hotel. I still prefer this hotel to those in District 1 which is also more expensive. I would take a bus costing VND 6,000 to district 1 and return before 7 pm for a quiet and peaceful night. I notice that the breakfast has improved with more buffet selection. The friendly and helpful staff I met last August is still there and I feel very happy that most of them could recognize me giving me a very warm welcome. Hotel L’ Odeon is indeed my home away from home.

A good respite from the chaos of HCMH

The Hotel Odeon is a true gem. Located in district 7, it is a bit removed from the chaos that is district 1, and that is a good thing. The area is very safe and clean, despite a fair bit of development taking place. The hotel is immaculately maintained with a professional, friendly and very helpful staff. Mr. Lek takes the time to get to know all the visitors and provides useful advice and guidance. We spent three days in HCMC and were always glad to be back at the Hotel Odeon at the end of the day.

“Pros & Cons of Hotel L'Odeon”

Hi everyone,

My wife and I and our friend with her 13-year-old child were enjoying so much staying at this hotel. I'd like to point out at pros and cons of staying at this beautiful and homey hotel.

Pros:
1) Excellent manager of the hotel Mr. John Len who is taking care of you as you're one of his old good friends
2) Nice and friendly staff with very good knowledge of English
2) Beautifully decorated and comfortable air-conditioned rooms with very good room service
3) Rooms are clean and tidy
4) Excellent and tasty breakfast
5) Small gym but it has an amazing massage chair with different massage programs
6) Safe and quiet location
7) Lots of restaurants nearby

Pros:
1) It's located approximately 45 min - 1-hour drive from the airport

To sum up,
I will definitely recommend this hotel to single, couple and family travelers. This hotel is certainly value for money and I will stay here again when coming to Ho Chi Minh City.

Friendly Boutique Hotel in Quiet Location

I frequent this small boutique hotel in District 7 (Phu My Hung) for work several times a year. It is in a great location if you're interested in a more quiet HCMC experience away from the hustle and bustle of District 1. The neighborhood is in a nice, walkable area that is basically Korea town in HCMC. There are a variety of restaurants, coffee shops, bars and shops nearby to keep you occupied. The hotel has a great breakfast in the morning (with many other options close by), the rooms are well kept with comfortable beds, and the staff is absolutely wonderful. While this hotel is not on the level of a 5 star hotel in District 1, I rate Hotel L'Odeon 5 stars for the level of service, friendliness, and convenient location that they offer. Staying at the Caravelle or Sheraton downtown is certainly more luxurious and offers more amenities, but the small boutique Hotel L'Odeon offers cleanliness, comfort, and a friendly \"first name basis\" service that is well beyond its price tag. For business travel its perfect, if visiting on holiday I would recommend this place only if you have the patience to take taxis to HCMC's more memorable tourist areas as the location is 20 minutes outside of the main District 1 area. If you want to walk out the front door of your hotel into the craziness of HCMC, this is not that kind of location. If on the other hand you want a safe, convenient and charming little neighborhood, then this is the place.

Nice, Cosy & chic hotel in a safe & quiet area

Good friendly and helpful service from the English speaking staff, nice clean hotel and room with adequate amenities.
Convenient and cheap transportation to District 1 (tourist attractions) via local bus and shuttle bus. Plenty of taxis too.
Booking of local tours like the Mekong Delta tour through the hotel was a breeze.

Nice people, but so so hotel, and bad location

Pros
1) The husband of the owner was friendly. He introduced the city to us and taught us how to take the bus on his own initiative. However, he told us the wrong bus no to Cho AnDOng. Luckily, the bus drivers told us and told us the right bus no.
2) The hotel staff was friendly, he told us how much for taking taxi from airport to the hotel, and sent us the map in advance.
Cons
1) We requested two beds, and they confirmed us by email. However, they forgot our request, and we had to wait for them to rearrange the beds.
2) The door lock had problem, we had to wait for them to fix that for about 40 mins in the very hot corridor.
3) The hotel is far away from the sightseeing area (district 1), so although we could save more on the hotel cost, we had to spend more on the transportation. And it also cost us more time to travel the city.
4) The bathroom of the hotel was smelly. I guess the drains had some problem, but they couldn't fix that.

This is a delightful hotel, quite far from the insane hustle and bustle of downtown HCM . But taxis are cheap and it is only $6 to the centre or 25 cents if you want to take the bus which you should at least once since the journey is so interesting and surprisingly air conditioned. Hotel manager was very knowledgable and informative and the staff very friendly. The local neighbourhood has no tourist hotspots but is pleasant to walk around and is extremely safe

Welcoming staff and gorgeous rooms felt at home

Such welcoming staff. We had a huge panic with misplaced passports when we arrived and the staff at the hotel were so helpful and understanding and genuinally concerned I will never forget that. The rooms were so homely and nice. They booked some excursions for us and made our stay so welcoming. On our first morning the hotel owner told us where to go and what to do and gave us a map which is something he does with all guests it was so helpful for us as we had no idea where to go. You can tell they love what they do and helping there guests. Thanks again for a lovely stay.

A little gem

This hotel definitely exceeded our expectations: it may not be centrally located, but the immediate neighborhood is very pleasant and safe, with plenty of opportunities for a nice dinner out and an evening stroll, and the city bus to the downtown area is cheap and within walking distance. The staff all went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and Mr. John Lek made it a point to offer useful local information and advice. The best part of our stay at L'Odeon were their delightful breakfasts with a choice of Western or Asian menu to die for. If we ever travel to Saigon again, we will be definitely booking another stay at L'Odeon!

Wonderful hotel in nice quiet neighborhood

I picked this hotel because it looked very nice, but I stayed here two more different times during my seven weeks in Vietnam. The owner and staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, they stored my bicycle box for me when I did my bicycle tour from Hanoi to Saigon, and also stored my bicycle when I took the bus to Cambodia. The hotel was clean and the bed very comfortable. It was by far the best hotel of my seven week trip. Sincerely, Greg Roemer

Best service I have ever had anywhere in Asia. The owner \"John\" and his staff are TOP notch - a cut above the rest. Front desk agent \"Minh\" was spectacular - always met our needs with a smile. Rooms a bit small but for the price you won't find anything better in Saigon. Breakfast was good but maybe could have a bit more selection. Best safest area in the city with great restaurants, massage, etc. Overall excellent stay and will definitely stay here again next time in Saigon.

A fine hotel in a quiet area of the hectic city.

This is one of many boutique sized hotels located in this quiet area within District 7. It's distance from city centre, limited additional facilities (ie. pool, sauna) and local competition, may account for including it in any list of modestly priced accommodations. The hotel exudes a pleasant ambiance and the staff are exceptionally professional and courteous - a contrast from some other modest-cost hotels I have experienced. The manager was personally helpful with information about local eateries, day-trip tour options, and using the local bus service to visit District 1/city centre (6 Dong=5 cents?). The room I had was small but adequate for a single traveller. Though still new, I sense the quality of some construction and furniture materials used may lead to future maintenance expenses, but no problems were experienced during my January 2016 stay. The bathroom and bedroom both had windows.

Relaxing stay at L'Odeon.

We had an amazing stay at L'Odeon. This is a small hotel in the heart of district 7's Korea town.
Breakfast was a combination of a la carte and buffet style. Food is top notch quality. Their pho soup was the best we had.
Small gym in the basement, does the job.
Best part was the friendly staff.
The manager John and his wife were great with us. The test of his staff from the front desk to the cleaning team all have a small on their face.
We cancelled other reservations to go back in 10 days.

best hotel staff I've ever had!

I injured my foot whilst travelling Asia. As such I decided to book into a hotel instead of a hostel for a couple of days. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and spacious. All immenities you would expect from a quality hotel. The staff were fantastic, they went to the pharmacy and bought me stuff to help with my wound. They asked me all the time if I was ok or needed assistance. The manager drew maps for us and told us everything we needed to know about the area!

Fantastic value

This hotel is great only 7 months old. The owner John was extremely welcoming he gave us advise on how to get into town and see the sights. The room was great for the price we paid. The location is a bit out of the centre but it meant the room was quiet and the area (district 7) is safe at night.

Friendly haven in quiet zone

Although the taxi ride is around 30 min from the city centre we found the effort (and comparatively small fare) well worth it, for the clean, quiet and modern suburb, amazing local shops and genuine caring staff. A highlight of our trip.

Pride of Ownership *****

This was our second stay at L Odeon Hotel and we've decided that this is where we will stay each time we visit Saigon. You can pay more, but you will not find better service.

The owner and his wife are wonderful and they have trained their staff well, rooms are clean and comfortable, morning breakfast is exceptional, amenities are well maintained, and the area is safe and convenient.

L Odeon is our new home away from home.

We had a great stay at this hotel, it's quite far from the main area but was nice to leave the noise behind at the end of the day.

Gift of hospitality

Mr. Lek and his wife have a gift of hospitality that is reflected in the courtesy of their staff and the cleanliness of their hotel. The morning breakfast is exceptional.

The neighborhood is in transition with many new housesand hotels being built. District 7 hasmuch to offer from quaint side streets to moderning shopping malls. The area is safe and robust.

Good location, great staff

This hotel is new, the staff are extremely helpful and friendly and speak good English. Rooms are pleasantly furnished and well thought-out, the lighting over the bed is fantastic - something that usually bugs me about hotels is the poor lighting so I can't read in bed! The breakfast selection is varied, both Asian and Western, and of good quality. The free WiFi is good. My husband's only disappointment was the limited English speaking TV stations (I seldom watch TV on holiday anyway).
L'Odean is close to a good selection of restaurants and although not in the main tourist area District 1, the bus service is cheap and just a few hundred metres from the hotel to the centre so no need for a taxi much of the time. They recommended some excellent trips and booked them for us. If I return to Saigon I shall definitely stay here again. Thank you L'Odean for helping make my holiday so enjoyable.

Wonderful stay

This hotel was wonderful. We had booked for two nights, and decided to stay one extra.
The rooms are clean and have lovely, comfortable decoration. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Jon, who I believe owns the hotel with his wife, was just so engaging and willing to help us find our way around the city. Breakfast in the restaurant was great each morning as well.
The location is a bit out of the way, in a quiet, safe part of the city. It was easy to get into the center of things when we wanted to, though, by local bus or taxi. Just be careful that the taxi you get into is legit, as we did have a bad experience with a \"fake\" driver one night coming back from district 1.
We are on a fun mother-daughter trip across SE Asia, and Hotel L'Odeon has definitely been our best pick for accommodation so far.

6 fantastic days in Vietnam

The hotel staff and rooms were excellent. From check in to our final day John and his team couldn't do enough for us. Don't be put off with the location of this hotel being in district 7. The bus stop is a couple of minutes walk away and taxis are cheap to the centre. There are plenty of quality bars and restaurants locally too so if you're looking to stay out of the congestion and pollution of the centre then this hotel should tick every box. Breakfast was a treat every morning with plenty of choice from European flavours to local cuisine. I can recommend the coffee first thing in the morning. We will return to this hotel in the future.

Small new boutique hotel

Hotel is brandnew and everything is nice and new. The breakfast is excellent and they even prepare omelette or else for you a la carte. Staff very helpful and English speaking. Even the owner, John, takes personally care that his guests are happy. Location is in District 7 a bit away from District one which can be reached by taxi or also by minibus. The area is upcoming, quiet, very modern, clean and green with restaurants, convenience stores, beer places within walking distance. Also quite some foreigners there. Moreover there is Vivo-City a big and very modern shopping mall. The standard room is not too big but nice, clean and amenities-wise more on 4star level. Hotel website difficult to find and also not mentioned when booking online. We enjoyed \"opening\" room rate and were very satisfied with that. Next time there we'll come again.

Quite and peaceful

This is a marvelous hotel with very friendly and well trained staff. The room is clean and it provides a good selection of breakfast choices. Located in District 7 of Ho Chi Minh City, it is surrounded by lots of restaurants and pubs. But at the same time it is very peaceful and quite with very little pollution. Highly recommended for visitors who prefer a more peaceful environment as compared to the hustle and bustle of District 1 but only 15 minutes away.

何度か利用しています。部屋の中は若干皮脂臭を感じますし、時々アリが上がってくることがありますが、安いので十分許容でき、こんなものだと思っています。シャワーは若干水圧が弱いのとなかなかお湯にならないですが、これも値段の安さで許してしまいます。フロントの人やドアマンは親切で、掃除のおばさんも愛想がよく、不快に思うことはありませんでした。朝ごはんはあまりレパートリーがなさそうだったので、近くのコンビニで買って済ませました。総じて快適に過ごせました。
